Overview
Built into a wooded hillside just outside the small village of Login, you’ll be able to tell Y Caban’s been made by artists, as the carefully curated interior is filled with warm, woody tones, framing a space built to inspire. Sat on nine acres of smallholding, you’ve nothing but a few farmhouses around you, and the rest – rolling Welsh hillside, teeming with life. The area is at the beginning of a nature recovery program and is already beginning to see a resurgence of life, so take a moment to sit out on the porch, and spot all sorts of birdlife pirouetting in the air.
This is the sort of place perfect to retreat from it all, enjoying walks in the unspoilt country, thumbing through a good book by the wood burner, or even letting inspiration strike at the light-filled dining table – as the cabin’s former purpose was an artist’s residence.
Nearby, there’s the C&M organics farm shop to grab supplies to cook up in the large kitchen, or out on the BBQ in the summer months. Or if you’ve worked your fingers to the bone with a new masterpiece, go lazy and head down to the Michelin-starred restaurant nearby, or take the half hour drive to the local tap room or the distillery bar.

Meet Franklin and Rebecca
Franklin and Rebecca are multidisciplinary artists who fell in love over ten years ago, bought a van and travelled the breadth of Europe for a year. The trip was centred around the concept of freedom, coupled with a desire to journey into the heart of the wilderness of the deep nature of Eastern Europe. They wrote music in mountains, rivers and valleys that they moved through, and took the music to the streets of the passing towns and villages.
From their trip was born the musical project which they continue to work on today. On returning to the UK, they sought a space where they could continue creating in nature, surrounded by beautiful walks and inspiration. They soon took on the smallholding where Y Caban is sited, employing traditional heritage building techniques.
Y Caban was built out of wood from a friend’s forest, whilst salvaging all of the windows and doors from newly renovated houses who were throwing out old fittings. Y Caban has functioned as a home to the artists they work with in helping realise their creations, whilst providing them with an income to reinvest back into their creative endeavours and the artists they work with whilst they travel and gain further inspiration for future works and ideas.
Wildlife and environment
Surrounded by 12 acres of land which themselves and their neighbour have given to a nature recovery program, the site seeks to offer an example of how beautifully restorative the natural processes of nature is not just to the animals, insects and birds which line the valley, but for those that visit too.
The wildlife is in abundance in the valley with the possibility of siting red foxes, bats, badgers, hedgehogs and a range of birds including: buzzards, kites, kestrels, robins, wrens, chaffinches, blue tits, greenfinches, gold finches, woodpeckers and owls.

We had a gorgeous stay at Y Caban this weekend. The place is really unique and set in a beautiful, peaceful landscape. It was a chilly weekend, but was cosy in the cabin once we got the fire going. We took some of the host's recommendations for food and places to visit and they didn't disappoint. It's a little bit of a drive to get places, but it's well positioned to access the coasts in all directions. Lovely place to spend the weekend.

The cabin was perfect, wouldn’t change a thing! It’s been beautifully made, with lots of considered details that make for the perfect remote getaway. We used it as a base to explore Pembrokeshire, but could just have easily stayed in the cabin the whole time! Check in was very easy, and Franklin and Rebecca were perfect hosts.

Y Caban is a beautiful log cabin, perfect if you are looking for a relaxing stay in a secluded countryside setting. The sound of the birds in the morning was delightful. We spent many hours sitting in front of the log burner relaxing and sitting having lovely food on the beautiful table. Would recommend.
14/02/2025Jade
Really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was better than I was hoping for. The quality of the cabin interior was fantastic and done to such a great standard.
24/01/2025Will
We decided on a little break away over the festive period and wanted to be away from any distractions. This place had everything we needed to be tucked away for 3 days. Lovely setting, easy directions to follow and the hosts were available should we have needed them.
28/12/2024Alex
A little bit of heaven for a couple of days. Peaceful, cosy and beautiful space and location.
17/11/2024Petra
Refreshing, relaxing, beautiful stay at Y Caban. The tranquility of the cabin and its surroundings takes you right back to the best things in life - good company, a good book, home-cooked food, fresh air and then rest.

We had the most wonderful stay, so cosy and comfortable
18/10/2024Liv
It was wonderful. Even the smallest imperfections wich we found we can forgive for the absolute heaven on Earth. The quietness was so peacefull and refreshing. We really appreciated that the heating was on when we arrived so the cottage was nicely warm. We started with the fire outside for BBQ. Luckily Franklin texted us before hand some more details about the stay, so we were able to get some extra wood from a shop and not from the petrol station as suggested as it would be more expensive. The size of the bed was enough although a little bit too soft, but that is more about personal preference. Really loved the special touches of fresh eggs, Welsh cakes, oat milk, coffee, tea, herbs, shampoo, conditioner, soap. Overall you can feel the love which this place was created.

We had the absolute best stay at Y Caban. We were immediately 'wowed' we first stepped foot in the cabin, an amazing sense of calm from being in such a wonderful space. We met our hosts briefly on the way in and they couldn't have been more welcoming and warm. The cabin, itself, was completely perfect; the hosts had thought of every tiny detail the make our stay as comfortable as possible. The finish and feel of the property was impeccable and we immediately felt at home. The kitchen facilities were excellent and we enjoyed cooking some lovely food. All the furniture was very comfortable and just added to the cosy feeling that the cabin gave. Another big plus point was the information booklet that was full of really useful information for exploring the local area. The immediate surroundings of Y Caban are extraordinary (and even a bit magical), and the number of incredible places to see within an hour's drive is too big to list. We came back from our trip feeling refreshed and renewed. A perfect trip, and a big thank you to our hosts.
13/09/2024Charlotte
A fantastic week away! Lovely little cabin that was exactly what we were looking for, well presented and cared for and found as described.
12/08/2024Ed
Me and my partner stayed here for a joint birthday and anniversary trip, it was beautiful. The cabin itself was so wonderfully designed, cosy, impressive and perfectly located for a peaceful retreat. We were incredibly thankful to our hosts for making us so welcome and we had lots of choice for local amenities and walks.
26/07/2024Jack
We loved, loved, loved our stay at Y Caban... the cabin is simple, minimal and exceptionally tastefully decorated, providing everything you need for time away from everything. Sitting on the porch at the back, all you can hear is the stream a few meteres away and nothing else.... nothing. Absolutle blissful silence - other than birds and the occasional sheep, nothing disturbs. We cooked on the open fire every evening (even in the drizzle on the last night, but it was fine). The shower is excellent, like standing under a waterfall. We would have no reservations about booking again for another break. No TV (although there is WIFI) and no phone signal means you can cut yourself off from the world entirely if you need to. Frankie and Bec have created a base where you can explore the local area or do absolutley nothing if you want to. 10/10.

We had the most amazing stay at Y Caban are already plotting our return. The building was absolutely beautiful and had been curated with such thoughtfulness and care - we have never stayed anywhere quite like it before. The setting was perfect - so quiet and peaceful. We loved the long tailed tits which would perch on the windows. Honestly faultless. Made even better by the fact that we got engaged during our stay here!!
