Canopy & Stars is a collection of unique, creative places to stay in the outdoors that give you a genuine experience of a life more wild. They're personally inspected by our team and carefully selected so you'll find only the most special spaces in our collection.
Hidden beside ancient woodland on a quiet Somerset estate, The Bright Oak is all slow mornings, wide views and evenings spent soaking in the hot tub as the sun sinks over the Levels. With no wifi and barely a road in earshot, this is digital detox territory done properly.
Get in now and bag the best dates, as The Bright Oak has only just opened and there’s plenty of availability. Once word gets out about those views, the bluebell walks and the deep, uninterrupted peace, we don’t imagine that’ll last long.
In season 6, episode 3 of A Life More Wild, we talk to activist, researcher and writer Joycelyn Longdon.
Joycelyn Longdon wears many hats. She works on conservation with communities in Ghana, she speaks and writes about environmental action and she also specialises in something called bioacoustics. It keeps her pretty busy, so we caught up with her to take a break from her desk and a stroll into one of her favourite places - Paradise Nature Reserve in Cambridge. On the way, she explains how all her worlds come together and how important it is that cultural interaction creates a new way to imagine our future.
