Overview
On a hidden nature reserve tucked into a quiet valley, you’ll find The Hide waiting for you to visit. The owner’s background in design will come as no surprise as you discover the simple Welsh/Scandi inspired theme inside, where form meets function, a beautiful space that’s easy to use, and designed to have minimal impact on the environment.
You’ll have everything you need for a few days of immersion in nature, a warm, insulated cabin, where you can keep the curtains peeled to view the milky way at night under non-light-polluted skies. There’s a camp kitchen attached to your cabin for cooking out in the fresh air, or even, on the firepit with the BBQ or camp pot. As well as a private bathroom is a short walk away, and bookable wood-fired baths!
Best of all, is the wild-swimming pond on site, where you can jump off the jetty right into the water – or enjoy your morning yoga on it, surrounded by calm waters. Whilst there’s plenty to find nearby, you’ll probably be too busy enjoying the calm of the site, swinging in the hammock, playing lawn games or heading to the communal space (shared with the other cabins) to grab a board game. It’s also there you’ll find the onsite shop, to pick up some supplies for your stay.

Meet your hosts
Meet Jessie and Lyndon
They finally came back to their Welsh roots after years of city living and are re-embracing life in the countryside. They grew up locally, met at school and then left Wales for 20 years or so to explore the big wide world. Serial house renovators, foodies and nature lovers; One Cat Farm gives them the opportunity to live and work in a place they love and to provide their three young children and urban cat with a free range upbringing, like they had themselves.
Wildlife & Environment
The site sits within a 2 acre meadow, previously used as a pig farm. Jessie and Lyndon are taking advice from an Ecologist on allowing the plants to diversify and are hoping that in time they will have a wild flower meadow, filled with self seeded native species.
There are two ponds teeming with wildlife which guests are welcome to explore. Geese, mallards, moorhens, owls, bats, frogs, fish, herons, hedgehogs, numerous songbirds, various butterflies and dragonflies have all been visitors to the ponds. There's a stone wall along one edge of the property free from overgrown vegetation in order to further encourage reptiles such as lizards and slow worms on site.
Jessie and Lyndon are working towards installing pv panels so that the whole site and the cottage will be have light and hot water without electricity. The cabins were designed and built by Lyndon and are insulated and have double glazing to ensure minimal energy use and because they are semi permanent structures they can be removed without trace at the end of their useful lives.

We had such a wonderful time. It surpassed expectations. We stayed for 2 nights but wished it could have been longer. Every detail was considered. The whole design/craft of the place is gorgeous! What a special place.

What a lovely stay! Very relaxed, what an amazing place and gorgeous location. Never experienced dark skies like them. Definitely book the baths of you can, we’ll worth it. Just WOW. What a treat!! Upon our arrival Jessie & Lyndon were there to great us with big friendly smiles and shown us around the site. We immediately felt at home there for our short stay. The facilities are fantastic - very clean, scandi style eco-friendly cabins and separate toilet & shower. Glamping but still feeling at one with nature. We stayed at the Hide cabin. The view and sounds of the birds/wildlife around us were wonderful. The chickens came over to say hello at breakfast and the cat came to give us a visit one night! Totally immersed in nature. Reading in the hammock in the sunshine was glorious and food by the campfire with the comfort of our own kitchen. The attention to detail was fabulous and didn’t go unnoticed, Jessie & Lyndon were always on hand around the site if we needed to ask for anything. Also the bed was so comfy. The wood fired hot tubs so unique and we stayed there for 2.5hrs into the night as the sun went down. So close to the glorious beach at Llangrannog. There’s not enough words I have for this place. We can’t wait to stay here again, hopefully not in the too distant future! Thank you Jessie & Lyndon!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights, we had a fantastic time. The Hide was really cosy and warm. A well equipped kitchen area in our hut, and there is also a communal kitchen area. We had the run of the place as we where the only guests, it was a welcome break from the daily grind of working from home during the pandemic. However, I can imagine the farm will have a great atmosphere in the summer when it will probably be busier and therefore more people knocking about. The hosts where very friendly, really chatty, generally nice people. We will absolutely be coming back. No doubt!

It was AMAZING! We loved every second and can't wait to go back. We had the warmest welcome, everything was straight forward and easy. I would highly recommend this place.

We had a great time at One Cat Farm last week. I went with my wife, six year old daughter and 3 year old son. The site is perfect and the huts are great for a small family - really cosy and functional. We loved the campfire area and the chance to cook out. It was also nice to have a kitchen area for the times when the weather wasn't so nice. Jessie and Lyndon were the perfect hosts; on hand when needed but never hovering over you. They have a lovely manner with guests; very relaxed and welcoming. They gave us great recommendations for things to do and have put a huge amount of work and effort into their site. The place itself is beautiful and the villages and beaches nearby are fantastic. There is a nice mix of remote, quiet beaches and busier places, such as New Quay. Lovely eating out options around and about too. All in all, we feel we chose really well and would definitely recommend One Cat Farm to others looking for a less onerous camping trip for the family.
29/05/2017neil
Had a fantastic time, loved the den. Had the opportunity to meet others, including someone for our child to play with, but also gave space for privacy if wanted.
28/08/2015Nicky
We stayed here with our 2 young children for 3 nights-we wish we'd booked to stay for much longer. Jessie, Lyndon and family were very welcoming and have created a relaxed, happy environment that anybody could enjoy. The dens were warm and very comfortable. Lots of room around each one for children to play and a safe meadow for them to explore. The communal area has everything you could need for cooking, although the bbq and dutch oven under the starry sky are an experience not to be missed. The showers were warm and clean. The best glamping experience we've found! The local area is beautiful and there really is something for everyone. Secluded beaches nestled between seaside towns, markets, harbours, hills...the choices are endless! We do not have a negative comment to share about this place and we will certainly be returning.
