Overview
You’ll feel very private here, especially in the woodfired tin tub, wide enough for both of you and guarded by a thoughtful Buddha – it can be warmed and waiting for you with a bit of notice. Inside has everything you need – a two-ring electric hob, proper fridge and freezer, wood-burner and logs for chilly evenings and a very comfortable bed. Local milk and fresh homemade biscuits will be waiting for you, but you can have ample breakfast ingredients from the local farm shop delivered, and fresh fruit and vegetables from the owners’ walled garden in season. For outdoor cooking there is a gas barbecue – lovely to sit around, enfolded by forest, while your supper sizzles – perhaps with some local ale or a glass of wine. There’s even a guitar should you feel inspired to serenade your partner.
An outdoor hot shower is a great way to start the day whatever the weather, with birdsong all around you and the canopy of green above. Set off on stunning walks straight from the door into the woods – in spring you’ll be blessed with a carpet of bluebells. Bring bikes and head to the Gisburn Forest which has trails for every level. Walk through fields to The Glasshouse at Stydd Gardens for a very special al fresco supper when the weather is fine, or wander into the village (one mile away) for The Ribchester Arms and good country pub food. Return to your decking area to catch spectacular sunsets over the fauna and flora water hole. You should sleep peacefully in this magical spot.

Meet John and Janet
Your host John & Janet are local business people in the area. They have lived at their present home for 40 years, upgrading & developing it over the years. They love the outdoors, gardening and would be out walking, on a mountain bike trail or hand gliding the fells at the drop of a hat. In their search for their unique and idyllic place for their downtime, they have created their beautiful Foxglove which began as the family summer house and now is the favourite space on the estate. As the family have grown and moved away Janet & John thought that they would like to share this space to enable them to share the beauty of Lancashire with like-minded people. Foxglove is ideally suited to do all of this, nestled down in the woodland, surrounded by farmland, woodlands and forest, and it is here they continue to enjoy their lives. It has been recently renovated lovingly by John to a very high standard with the introduction of the woodfire tin bath, hot shower & flushable toilet. The decor is amazing and will help you relax and take away your stress the minute you step into Foxglove.

We had the most wonderful weekend. Thank you to the owners who quickly helped us out of a sticky situation when I drove our car straight into a bog. It was no issue to them and then pulled us out with the land rover. All the little details are just wonderful and make the trip really special. We absolutely loved the outdoor shower and the bbq breakfasts. We would love to come back and stay. Next time I would make a reservation at the glass house. The bed was so cosy. I could have stayed there all weekend and not moved! Thank you for a wonderful stay xx

We had a lovely stay in this comfortable cabin. The outdoor bath is a must. We had one even though it was drizzling. It is so warm & relaxing & it's nice to be at one with nature at the same time as having a soak. A great chilled out couple of days. Highly recommended.

Foxglove is a magical place! From the warm, personalised welcome from Janet, to lights and music playing as we arrived, we knew this was going to be special! A place to spend truly quality time together, morning coffee and outdoor showers listening to the birds. Exploring the local area, swimming in rivers and walking woodland trails, spotting deer and birds of prey, the magic continued. Cosy nights cooking and having a glass of wine next to the fire. Long soaks in the wood fired bath. Foxglove is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of life and take time to relax and appreciate the world around you! Everything you need, right there for you, you will never want to leave.

A truly beautiful place. The quality of workmanship with the personal garden area made all the difference..was nothing better than having a hot bath after the 12mile local walks

We went to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and it was the most amazing break away. The location was beautiful and it was so peaceful! The accommodation has everything you could want! The natural hot tub was a delight and the outdoor shower was a lovely experience. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. We would not hesitate to book a stay there again

A wonderful couple of nights in the most magical place . We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary drinking champagne , soaking in the tub, sharing toast with a cheeky Robin and completely relaxing in the most beautiful of environments. Thank you Janet for all the goodies in the basket …… and the special personal touches left around . We will return ❤️

The Foxglove is such a gem of a place! A little green haven. We switched off from the world for a couple of nights and enjoyed the simplicity of this beautiful little place. Caroline was really helpful too :-)

Wow. Our visit to foxglove was something we have never done before, the setting was surreal and gave us the much needed break and rest away from the hustle and bustle of life. I can't thank Janet and Caroline enough, the thought and effort that have gone into the stay, there were so many little touches which showed how much they cared about their guests having the best experience.

The perfect way to detach and relax. A beautiful little place that still feels incredibly homey.

My husband and I stayed to celebrate his 40th birthday. I had arranged with the owners before to have some little bits waiting for our arrival as a surprise. So lovely to arrive to bubbly on ice, balloon and birthday Decs as well as beautiful cheese and meats board. We spent a relaxing evening in the Woodfired tub and the following day wandered into nearby Ribchester for a look around followed by an evening out in Longridge. We had a lovely relaxing time. Thanks so much for having us.
24/11/2023Sarah
This was a wonderful escape from every day life, nestled away amongst the trees, everything had been thought of, the space was well equipped, cosy and comfortable.
29/10/2023Sarah
What a fabulous place. The owners have thought of so many things that make this a very special and comfortable place to stay. We had a warm welcome from the owner who showed us how to light the wood fired outside bath under the trees (rather magical) and we found delicious goodies inside for breakfast (a major thumbs up for the avocado, sourdough and chilli flakes) as well as excellent biscuits. The cabin gets cosy in minutes and has every convenience you need. A wonderful place to switch off and relax.
17/10/2023Lucy
A tranquil little haven! We has a wonderful 2 night stay at Foxglove in October. The cabin was warm and cosy and a fire was lit for when we arrived which was a lovely welcome (along with the delicious shortbread!). The wood fired bath and outdoor shower were fantastic, even in the cooler weather! The cabin is tucked away and feels very private. Surrounded by beautiful countryside we did a few walks around the fields and down to Stydd Gardens. Can highly recommend Always Cake and The Glasshouse Cafe for food and drink. Lovely hosts as well, they made us feel very welcome, greeting us when we arrived to show us around, they've thought of everything to make the stay a wonderful experience.
13/10/2023Frances
It was magnificent. One of the most relaxing places we’ve stayed. It was simple but incredibly elegant. The owners have clearly put a lot of time and love into creating such a safe and welcoming environment. It’s rustic which doesn’t appeal to everyone but it appealed to us! There is so much to do locally and the hosts made sure we had plenty of information available to plan what we wanted to do. Then after a day of exploring and walking we could come home to a beautiful wood fire bathtub and relax in the open. Truly an unforgettable experience and we will definitely be back.
22/09/2023Shauna
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was just fabulous, exactly what we needed. The little touches were lovely and the Bath was just AMAZING! We will definitely be returning

We had the most amazing time. The cabin is beautiful and the hosts go above and beyond to make it special for you. The wood fired bath is wonderful and easy to use, super relaxing after enjoying some local walks. Had some great weather so we made the most of the bbq and has everything we needed. We definitely plan on returning. Thank you!

Foxglove was so unique and tranquil. It was the little things that made it so amazing. The owners have gone all out on making foxglove the place it is and you can see the love that has been poured into it. Everything you needed was there all we had to do was enjoy. The bed was so comfortable and the afternoon tea was tondie for! The outdoor bath was an experience and I didn't want to leave.
12/06/2023Melanie
Had the best stay. Went on the famous Tolkein walk which was great as had a lovely sunny day. Went for walks around the property as well. The glasshouse down the round serves great food and they also have a separate lunch, coffee and cake shop there as well for light bites. It was a joy to spend time there. if all you want to do is relax, chill and recharge then this is the place for you. Cooking wise there is a great BBQ, which also does pizza, and a small hob inside. They have all the equipment you would need.
28/04/2023Claire
We had a lovely stay at Foxglove. It was a peaceful spot, cleverly hidden away at the bottom of a big garden , in amongst the trees and overlooking a pond. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub with a glass of fizz in the evening. Waking up to birdsong and sipping coffee on the veranda in the morning, followed by a delicious complimentary breakfast. The hosts are wonderful too!
14/03/2023Justine, Canopy & Stars
Our stay at Foxglove was amazing. The accommodation is very pretty, cosy and comfortable. The hosts cannot do enough to accommodate the needs of their guests. The countryside surrounding the accommodation is spectacular.
24/10/2022Claire
Foxglove is an absolute delight to stay in. Connecting with nature, slowing down and connecting with one another. From the outdoor tub to the comfiest bed ever to existed foxglove is just perfect. Reading my book on the decking listening to the birds was heavenly. Fresh food baskets wrapped and presented so beautifully. Plenty information to help get the best of the area. No need to remember the little things such as toiletries and condiments as all provided. Fresh flowers everywhere you look and enough wood to keep the burner going to make the stay super cosy late in the evening. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place for others to enjoy
30/09/2022Rebecca
We had a lovely peaceful & restful honeymoon at Foxglove. Everything was well thought out, the bath outside was perfect.
07/09/2022Erin
Everyone at Foxglove was so welcoming and kind. It was my husbands 50th birthday and they spoilt us, this made his birthday that extra bit special. The accommodation itself is just so adorable, somewhere you would wish to have permanently as a bolt hole for yourself! Thank you team for our time here, we hope to come again. C&T
29/08/2022Cheryl
Wonderful! Beautiful location, lovely finishing touches - flowers, candles, fizz & treats waiting for us. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.
26/08/2022Helene
We were only at Foxglove for a couple of days but we loved every minute of our short time there. The setting, in that beautiful natural dingle, under ancient trees, was so calm and restful. Coming back in the evening, after a challenging hike over the moors to a warm bath under the leaves of the silver birches and the chilled prosecco, was a wonderful treat. We are so grateful to Team Foxglove for their kindness and thoughtfulness and for creating this beautiful retreat for others to enjoy. We would love to return one day...... And how did they know it was my birthday?
24/08/2022Kate
We had a lovely stay at Foxglove! It was relaxing and gave us the opportunity to recharge our batteries. The outdoor heated tub was incredible too.
01/08/2022Laura
Lovely little place amid the trees. Hot tub was a dream - even in the rain.
22/07/2022Sara
What an amazing place and our best stay anywhere ever.Secluded in a dip on the edge of a pond in a field surrounded by nature. The lodge had the best bed we've ever slept in,a wood burner and a fictional kitchen area and fridge and small freezer. The hosts thought of everything you would need, so we really didn't need to bring as much stuff as we did. Outside was the shower which we never wanted to come out of, the bathroom and toilet which was perfect and clean, the woodfired twin tin bath which was better than a jacuzzi and a gas barbecue which was easy to use and cooked our food quickly and it tasted amazing. The decking area was fantastic and we spent most of our time sitting there watching nature do its thing, we saw bats, ducks, deer,a barn owl and a variety of other birds and butterflies. Our favourite were the two nesting Robins who we watched flying in feeding their chicks as the nest was right next to the decking, amazing!. The hosts were amazing and left us to it throughout our 4 night stay. We also visited sttyd gardens and had an amazing meal. We walked into Ribchester and visited 3 pubs, The Ribchester, the Black Bull and White Bull the white Bull was our favourite.
20/06/2022Neil
Foxglove was a wonderful place to spend a weekend. It had everything I needed and more. I loved the outdoor bath and the lovely books to flick through while sipping a glass of wine on the deck. Directions to the place were spot on and Caroline was there to make check-in and getting settled a breeze.
20/05/2022Emma
I cannot begin to describe what a wonderful place Foxglove is - the most beautiful peaceful surroundings - even with a resident Robin who visited daily. The cabin itself has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay - the bed is super comfy (we will buy one!!), we loved the wood burner in the evenings. The cabin has a lovely feel and we enjoyed using the outdoor shower, what a wonderful experience. Surrounded by woodland you can walk for hours and then return to the wood fire hot tub - bliss in a bath :). We will definitely be back, during a different season perhaps to see the changing scenery. Thank you for making our stay so lovely - Janet and Caroline are also super helpful hosts!
06/05/2022Annmarie
Absolutely incredible, the most relaxing place. Beautiful attention to detail. The most comfortable beds. A little paradise.
04/05/2022Krista
Our stay was perfect. The cabin was beautiful decorated and furnished for a rustic, cosy feel. The outdoor terrace was the most calming, tranquil space with a fantastic seating area and views of nature. The wood fired bath was a fantastic addition and the extra touches of Saturday morning breakfast delivery and treats on arrival were hugely appreciated!
25/03/2022Jen
Foxglove is everything you need for some time off away from the city life! A calming little gem, such a beautiful place to recharge and reconnect with nature. The hosts were amazing, all the little touches made our 15th anniversary one of a kind! Sitting under the stars and relax in the wood-fired bath was just priceless! Will totally recommend to friends and family!

We had a lovely stay at the Foxglove Cabin, Caroline and the team couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating throughout our stay. The wood fired bath was a great touch and it was so relaxing to be in during the evenings.

It was the perfect break away from London life, a truly wonderful spot to reconnect with nature and ourselves again. The cabin was perfect with literally everything you needed to have a cosy, comfortable stay. There were so many thoughtful touches around the cabin it felt like home. We could have stayed forever, so peaceful and relaxing we felt like new people during our time at foxglove! Absolutely adored the outdoor shower, that was really special to be able to start the day with a nice warm shower whilst watching the birds flit about in the trees and sing their morning songs. The wood fired bathtub was awesome as well, to just lay back and relax with a nice glass of wine amongst the stars whilst feeling super toasty was perfect. Our hosts were brilliant! Nothing was too much to ask, they were super helpful and very friendly and welcoming, made us feel at ease straight away! They also balanced this perfectly with giving us plenty of privacy to enjoy our romantic stay. Couldn't have had a better stay.

We spent 2 nights at Foxglove last week and did not want to leave. Everything was amazing. We received a lovely welcome from John and Janet who were both so helpful and very warm. The extra touches were so special and made a surprise birthday trip away even more fantastic. Team Foxglove couldn’t do enough for us while we were there - always there if we needed anything and great with suggestions. The bath was prepped on both nights with no hassle. The bath was spectacular…especially in the evenings after a walk and we wrapped up warm with all the blankets provided and enjoyed our evenings outside on the terrace. The breakfast on the first morning was so fresh and the jam was delicious. We left Foxglove throughly refreshed and relaxed and I’m still dreaming of that log burner in the cabin. Can not rate any higher and we look forward to going back when we can. A perfect secluded relaxing oasis with lots of lovely pubs around, great walks and things to do should you ever want to leave the cabin (believe me…it’s a hard thing to do). Thanks to Janet, John & Caroline. A truly memorable birthday experience and 2 very happy campers. Claire & Dan xo

We loved our stay at Foxglove! It was a cold windy weekend so we loved the log burner to get nice and cozy. Incredibly helpful and lovely hosts who helped us with our luggage, even dropped it off at the nearby restaurant and while we walked down there! The outdoor bath is amazing with a glass of wine in the evening.

Foxglove was absolutely lovely. Janet John and Caroline were so thoughtful and always on hand to help. The tub was such a special touch and we came in to a roaring fire and the cosiest bed. Everything you need for a short stay is there. The location was ideal - secluded and hidden away but a lovely walk into town and a short drive from longridge, the Tolkien trail and some great pubs. The food at the ribchester arms was lovely and stydd gatdebs is highly recommended for a delicious roast in a lovely setting.

Foxglove was absolutely beautiful- even in December in the midst of stormy weather! It felt completely private and peaceful but was still close enough to everything that you didn't feel lost in the wilderness. The cabin itself was so cosy and the outdoor hottub was fantastic- even in freezing temperatures. We would definitely stay again.

We had a brilliant stay at the Foxglove; the space is perfect for a romantic getaway. The Foxglove is the perfect balance between rustic charm and absolute luxury, with minimalist interior combined with small touches of 5* luxury that you keep stumbling across make it a unique stay. The hot outdoor shower and wood burning bath were great after walks in the countryside, that you can start right from the front door. The owners were really accommodating and made our stay very special. We will definitely be back.

We were greeted with a warm smile and a candle lit bath. The wood burner was roaring, such a wonderful touch as it was a cold day. The owner made us aware of all amenities. We were gifted a lovely basket of treats, owner had put up Happy Anniversary bunting and bottles of Prosecco. The place was really cosy, clean and comfortable, we couldn't fault anything. We had everything we could possibly need. Foxglove is an idyllic place, surrounded by beautiful trees and fields. We saw squirrels, foxes and lots of birds from the decking. Would definitely revisit!

Foxglove was amazing... Perfect setting, so well equipped with charming decor and every little touch you'd need. The hosts, Janet and John, were a perfect mix of being attentive but ensuring you had privacy and the breakfast parcels in the morning were beautiful. We didn't have the best weather but still enjoyed walks, the sunset on Jeffrey Hill which felt like you were on top of the world and an amazing lunch at Stydd Gardens. Foxglove itself with the huge tin bath, outside shower, log burner, beautiful touches and lovely surrounds was the perfect retreat for a couple of days. We didn't want to leave ☺️

What a perfect 3 day getaway! Escape from all the hustle and bustle of city life and spend quality time together. The tin bath was incredible, even better in the rain and cold. The owners are so accommodating and made sure the bath was warm for us when we returned from a day of walking. The log burner in the cabin is perfect for cold evenings. We genuinely had the most relaxing time, thank you!

The place was amazing, so peaceful and relaxing. Caroline went to every effort to make our stay perfect. The log burner made the place so cosy, we had a fantastic time even though the weather wasn’t great. The hot tub and outdoor shower were great too, and the place is very private. The breakfast delivery on the first morning was a lovely touch, there were so many thoughtful details. One of the best UK getaways we’ve had.

Our stay at Foxglove was wonderful, peaceful and rejuvenating. I felt connected with nature and absolutely loved sitting in the bath tub just looking up at the trees. It’s a wonderful setting under the most gorgeous tree, like a little oasis. Our hosts were very welcoming and also gave us the privacy we wanted. Lots of little touches made this the perfect break. Thank you so much x
24/09/2021Sara
My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary! It was absolutely amazing! Caroline had set up an amazing afternoon tea and champagne for our arrival! The hot tub was filled and ready to use! The space is absolute beautiful. Really clean and nice abs private. The hosts have thought of everything. All the nice little touches made our stay extra special. We will def be going back
20/09/2021Nick
This place is just magical. We are lucky to have stayed in several canopy and stars properties and this is our favourite yet. We bolted the pretty little door and didn’t leave the space for the whole of our stay. The bath is a perfect size for two, nice and deep and easy to get hot with not too much faff! Every little detail has been thought of. The connection to nature is amazing as it feels like you are in the tree! Janet John David and Caroline are so friendly and welcoming but leave you to it to just enjoy the place which is just incredible!

We stayed at foxglove for our anniversary at the end of august 2021. We had a lovely stay, there was champagne waiting for us on arrival along with a welcome basket with some treats. We also got a breakfast left at the door in the morning which was a lovely treat. Set in a beautiful secluded secret garden, surrounded by wildlife, trees and a bog/pond. Extremely relaxing and peaceful. We would defiantly recommend staying here. We would also recommend going to The Cafe at Stydd which is just down the road from the foxglove, it’s sooo beautiful and the food and drinks are lovely. We went for breakfast on the way home but wish we went sooner. I would recommend taking a mirror with you as there’s no mirror in the bedroom, only in the outside toilet where there is no plug for hair dryer/ straighteners etc. Beautiful get away. Will be coming back x
27/08/2021Natalie
This is a stunning place to completely switch off and relax. The Foxglove team made us feel very welcome. We even had the pleasure of meeting the two dogs one afternoon as they came flying down the path to greet us! Prosecco on arrival and a lovely breakfast left outside the door the following morning. The walk through the woods and over the hills down into Ripchester was really pretty. Then back, to relax in the tin tub with a glass of wine. What more could you ask for. Thank you again Foxglove, you have been amazing.
23/08/2021Amy
We fell in love with Foxglove the moment we arrived, it’s the most beautiful hideout! Fizz and strawberries on arrival were a lovely touch! The hosts were fantastic and thought of everything from fluffy towels and robes to a delicious breakfast hamper on our doorstep in the morning. We wanted for nothing and enjoyed a weekend of sheer bliss! The tin tub is an added luxury which we loved. We enjoyed a bbq in the evenings under the gorgeous fairy lights. Foxglove is peaceful, secluded and super relaxing we cannot recommend it enough and will definitely be returning for a second stay! Thank you so much Janet, John and Caroline!!

We had such a wonderful stay at Foxglove. The attention to detail was too notch with lots of little treats waiting for us on arrival. The hosts were so accommodating - no request was too big. We loved the peaceful area - enjoying the deck and the bath, as well as walks across the field to the pub. We’ll be going back in the summer. Loved it.

Our stay at Foxglove was amazing. The accommodation is very pretty, cosy and comfortable. The hosts cannot do enough to accommodate the needs of their guests. The countryside surrounding the accommodation is spectacular.

It’s a wonderful setting under the most gorgeous tree, like a little oasis. Our hosts were very welcoming and also gave us the privacy we wanted. Lots of little touches made this the perfect break. Thank you so much x

Loved it.
