Overview
Perched atop a hill with uninterrupted, far-reaching views that stretch for miles without a house in sight – Top of the Wold gives you panoramas that can be enjoyed straight from bed through the large picture window.
When you’re not enjoying sunrise from the snug cuddle of the warm bed, watching roe deer in the local fields as kites and skylarks swoop overhead – you’ll be exploring all there is to do from your base in the heart of The Cotswolds. A short drive will take you to Cheltenham, though a scenic walk can take you to Guiting Power for pubs, a café and a farmshop/deli or to the village of Hawling for alpacas!
But if you’re here to enjoy downtime, take the 15-minute drive over to the sauna and ice baths at Far Peak near Northleach (though be sure to book before you go), and spend a while relaxing in the scenic woodland. Then head back to your space to cook up the local fare over the firepit BBQ, and settle in for an evening under the incredible dark skies or a night thumbing the pages of a book, whilst you listen to wood burner crackle!

Meet your hosts
Meet Flo and Stu
Flo grew up on the farm and always dreamed of having a cabin overlooking her favourite view! She spent ten years working in the travel industry before moving back to the family farm with her husband Stu. As she takes over the reins, she’s keen to carve out a sustainable future for the farm and the business and is also thrilled to be able to share this special place with guests through the cabin, which combines two of her passions: travel and the countryside.
Wildlife and Environment
The land sits alongside one of the highest villages in the Cotswolds, near the site of an old Roman settlement. The entrance to the site is on The Salt Way, an ancient trade route that was used for transporting salt in medieval times. Guests will be sharing the site with some very special neighbours: there is a family of roe deer who live in the copse in the valley, the rare short-eared owls which can be seen hunting during the daytime in the fields around the cabin, particularly during the winter months. There are also red kites circling on air currents, skylarks hovering high up, the barn owl at dusk, as well as hares, foxes, muntjac, stoats and much more.
They are part of the government's Sustainable Farming scheme, so the land is managed as naturally as possible. They regularly plant new trees, and plant 100 or so native trees each winter. Regarding the cabin, it is off grid and they have tried to keep it as 'light touch' on the environment as possible – the cabin sits on a trailer so there are no foundations and they have deliberately not landscaped the area or added gravel etc as they prefer to keep it as natural as possible.

We were only about an hour from our home in Bristol, but this felt like a proper escape. The bed and that huge window invite you to slow down and just watch the world outside. We saw the rare short-eared owl as well as multiple barn owls and red kites. Dragging ourselves back to the city was a real struggle.
