Overview
Sitting in Devon’s largest stretch of National Landscape, Ursa rests quietly at the border of the land amongst the oak trees, away from its sister cabins. Angled so that the treeline is in view, it’s in prime position to spot the wild deer that nip between the trees, and to catch glances of the buzzards and hawks that live in the canopy. With a small table for meals, a little grey sofa adorned with two plump golden cushions, and a king-size bed next to a wood burner, you’ve enough comfort to question leaving the cabin at all.
If you do, take the drive out to Seaton Junction for winery tours at the Cellar Door, Lyme Bay Winery’s shop (book in advance). There’s also the market town of Honiton just 12 minutes away by car, where you can peruse the Thelma Hulbert Gallery, take classes or check out the exhibitions. Stock up at Complete Meats, local butcher and deli – for treats to take home, and either craft a beautiful meal in the kitchen or on the tripod cooking grill for the firepit outside. End the day with a long, luxurious soak in the outdoor bath on the deck or a dip in the wood-fired hot tub, and watch the stars twinkle between the rustling leaves, as you let the stress float away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ursa. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. We loved exploring the farm and the overall sense of tranquility as we sat around the fire pit.

Genuinely excellent and just what we needed. The accommodation was clean, well maintained and well stocked, even with milk and very good cake.
