Overview
The Arc cabin is magical; homespun yet contemporary. There’s a unique style to the bright fabrics, and more than a hint of design about the finishing touches: an iPod dock and original artwork on the walls bring the beautiful weathered furniture, well-thumbed novels and crocheted rugs up to date.
Through the reclaimed front door, the space is roomy and welcoming, with wood-burning stove and large oak dining table. Bi-fold doors swing wide onto the verandah, a great spot for taking in the river views or sharing a meal on a summer evening. In the country-style kitchen, Lotte’s background as a nutritional therapist shines through: passionate about food and health, she will leave you some of her favourite local treats to start you off - all delicious. Shelves heave with cookbooks, antique saucepans, and spices whole and ground; the many hobs, Belfast sink and long zinc worktop give you plenty of room, not just to cook, but create.
The king-sized antique French bed, covered in fabulous linen and bright cushions, is curtained off for privacy and the bathroom has both claw-foot bath and separate power shower. Up a ladder (over 8s only), twin beds are just as comfy. A tip: find sketch pads and knitting things in the mezzanine drawers... Lotte, the owner, has thought of everything, and you will enjoy exploring!
The Arc overlooks fields, with poplar on your right, and the house on your left, though feels private thanks to clever screening. Kenneth Grahame is said to have stayed at the Island House, drawing inspiration for 'The Wind in The Willows' here. The countryside's certainly pretty enough - strike out on the footpath to loop around the river, take binoculars to spot rare red kites, or make a beeline for a fine pub, The Crown, just ten minutes’ walk away.

Meet your hosts
Lotte wanted to take advantage of an idyllic setting and built the Arc as an artist's cabin on the footprint of an existing building. She is passionate about food and nutrition, and the importance of having a space for yourself to find some inner calm. The Arc is definitely the place to do this - having trained in teaching cookery skills and nutritional therapy, Lotte can even provide you with wholesome, nutritious meals or teach some skills if you would like to learn.
Wildlife & the environment
The Arc bathroom overlooks a poplar plantation which was planted by The Forestry Commission after the black poplar was found to be dying out. In the late 1990s, the Environment Agency put in an otter holt at The Island, so if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse. The Island is home to muntjac, a resident kingfisher, red kites, swans nesting, badgers, geese and many other birds.

We loved our stay at the cabin, which is beautifully done, very cosy for a winter break, and with an amazing walk along the Nene Way from the doorstep. We loved the log fire and rolltop bath

I had a lovely stay at The Arc. I came away to slow down and get some studying done - it was the perfect location for this. You're right by the water and it's so peaceful, plus you're in the best spot to catch a sunset each evening! The cabin itself was comfortable and everything I could need was provided.
29/01/2025Suzy
A wonderful rustic cabin in a perfect location - the ideal countryside escape.
23/08/2024Kirsten
Our fourth time staying. Quiet, peaceful & lovely as ever.
22/03/2024Clare
We had a fabulous time in this wonderfully cosy cabin. Everything was provided for our much needed short break to feel like an escape from the world.
24/01/2024Michele
Very relaxing sitting on the veranda at The Arc, with the rain gently pattering on the roof, listening to birdsong, smelling the freshness that the showers bring and asking why we don't do this more often! We saw numerous birds, including a woodpecker that hammered on a post on the veranda. There were rabbits and even a black labrador bounded onto the veranda. The Arc is a wonderful, cosy, no frills, eclectic cabin away from it all. Although it's not too remote as we enjoyed a 10 minute walk to The Crown pub for a delicious meal. We also enjoyed a meal & Sunday lunch at The Black Horse, only a 20 minute walk away! The facilities at the Arc are adequate. The king-size bed was comfortable, as was the couch in the living area. There was an all-pervading smell of wood smoke in the cabin from previous occupants using the wood-burning stove, which made for a homely atmosphere. Our host had left us a delicious cake and a pint of milk. We have to say that it was a bit different to our previous Canopy & Stars stay at another location where we had bounteous treats, including a bottle of wine, chocolates, fresh bread, local produce fruit & jam. The shower was powerful & hot.

The Arc is set in a lovely village with plenty of super walks through the countryside, in the picturesque village of Elton. The village has 2 lovely pubs, a village store and a garden centre worth a visit. The weather was beautiful while we were there and the arc offers a large living area and a verandah you can sit on and enjoy watching the wildlife.
17/07/2023Louise
A beautiful quiet stay that gave us chance to relax and listen to the sounds of the countryside.
19/04/2023Gerry
Wonderful place. We relaxed, listening to forest birds and watching the sunset from the veranda. Otters, woodpeckers, kingfishers. Many walks around, nice pubs. All the amenities for cooking.
07/04/2023Anastasia
Our stay at The Arc was a wonderful way to start the year. We felt incredibly relaxed and at home. The weather wasn’t great, and that didn’t matter! There were plenty of games to play and books to read, and as recommended we visited Stamford for the day which was a perfect rainy day out. The Black Horse pub in Elton was a great spot too!
06/01/2023Ella
I spent 3 nights at the Arc with two friends from university who I hadn’t seen in a very long time. We loved the cabin, especially enjoying the mornings and evenings on the porch looking out for birds and enjoying the quiet. We went swimming in the river close by to the Arc and also explored some local towns and villages and found some water sports to do in Oundle. It was a great tv and tech free holiday, enjoying cooking in the cabin and sitting around a fire, and just relaxing. The cabin also had arts and crafts to have a go at and many books to read.

A much-needed retreat from the busyness of life, in a beautiful rustic cabin that has been thoughtfully put together. I loved my stay - loved cooking in the light airy kitchen and on the firepit, spent most of my days lounging on the verandah, either writing at the table, reading in the armchair or snoozing in the hammock. The view of the poplar trees is gorgeous and the light changes throughout the day meaning you can sit and gaze at the view for hours. Thrilled to see the nesting pigeons' eggs finally hatched while I was there, and loved watching the birds and butterflies flitting about. I went at the beginning of a heatwave and while it was warm it was cool and peaceful on the verandah. The cabin is quite close to the owners' house and garden - not that I minded especially, and their two children are very quiet (nothing like mine!) but if you are seeking complete and total isolation this may not be for you. That said, for me, it didn't detract at all from my stay, and little details such as the fairy lit verandah and plenty of lanterns around, as well as small bud vases with flowers in made it feel all the more homely and welcoming.
08/07/2022Emma
Had a wonderful stay, the accommodation was in a lovely rural location with nice views. It was the perfect size for our family of 4.
29/04/2022Leanne
We had a really lovely time at the Arc - beautiful location, comfortable cabin, near to lots of great things to do. So peaceful!
19/04/2022Catherine
Lovely cabin far enough away to make you feel isolated but close to everything you can want to do or see. Fantastic location close to the river with loads of wildlife on the doorstep. Magical.
03/09/2021Alison
We had a lovely relaxing few days in this beautiful and peaceful cabin. Sitting out on the verandah watching the wildlife and the beauty of nature all around us is what really made it for us.
20/08/2021Jane
The location described seemed perfect for a break from the crowds whilst being accessible to local villages and towns. Having photos to view prior to booking was also a huge selling point, seeing the relaxed, comforting and thoughtful accommodation and setting was the icing on the cake. I especially loved the look of the veranda which did not disappoint.

We had the most wonderful time, it was everything that it said it was on the website and more. Even though we had the worst weather for our weekend break it did nothing to spoil our time there. The Arc is such a lovely place for doing nothing and enjoying the location, it was so nice to relax. Could not be better
02/10/2020Peter
We loved our stay at the Arc, it was the perfect place to relax

The Arc is an amazing place to get away from it all. We loved the porch, it was so nice to relax and eat out there. We also appreciated local area and the nearby walks, perfect for winding down. It's a great place to stay and I think we will return in the future.
03/08/2020Daniel
Beautiful spring visit to the Arc, flowers in bloom and wonderful to spend time in nature, overlooking the river in the day, sitting by the woodburner in the evening.
20/03/2020Marie-Louise
We had a lovely stay at the Arc, it was cosy and warm with peace and quiet. The spacious cabin had lots of books and we listened to music while we chatted. The log burner stove allowed us to create a lovely roast chicken dinner which we ate at the large wooden table with wine and candle light. Just a couple of nights away are all you need, thankfully there are these wonderful places that allows us to do this.
16/03/2020Julie
Just wonderful. Beautiful location, lovely house and so peaceful
22/02/2020Antonio
A truly wonderful, relaxing stay. Perfect for us.
12/08/2019Esther
Our stay was absolute bliss, a stunning, tranquil and beautiful setting just outside a charming village. The cabin had everything you could possibly need and more. Lotte was amazing, she was there if you needed anything but left you to your own devices the rest of the time. We had a long weekend and I'm back to work today but feel like I've had a couple of months away. I feel totally relaxed and well rested and ready to take on the world!
09/08/2019Jo
An idyllic setting with everything you need to help with your stay including, books, crafts and local information. Perfect for relaxing and watching the world go by with woodland walks on your doorstep.
05/08/2019Lisa
Our time at the arc was simply magical. The location is wonderful and despite how close it is to the main house we barely heard from the residents. There was a terrific variety of wildlife and beautiful views to look at from the veranda, I could have stayed for longer just sat in the comfortable chairs watching the doves who are nesting in the roof. The village pub was a short walk from the property, with a wonderful ‘local’ vibe and Excellent food we couldn’t have asked for more.
08/07/2019Julia
This was exactly the peaceful retreat we had hoped it would be. The surroundings of The Arc are nature at its best - the birdsong, especially the cuckoo, is the perfect way to be woken up in the morning. When we sat out on the veranda to enjoy a coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening it felt like we were abroad, with the sun streaming through the birch trees. The cabin itself is cosy, comfy and welcoming with a fantastic selection of books and craft materials.
17/05/2019Emily
A wonderful stay- a relaxing long weekend away from London that was easy to and immediately relaxing. Very peaceful with lovely walks in the area and a cute little village in walking distance. We didn't have a car but didn't need it for a weekend. The pictures show what a unique and warm place it is. Would definitely stay again.
05/04/2019Alice
Our stay was beautiful very peaceful just what was needed to recharge the batteries
29/03/2019Tracey
The walks and area were beautiful, waking up to the misty river and sunrise was stunning. Sitting on the verandah watching sunset was very relaxing.
22/02/2019Kim
The arc was a magical and enchanting getaway. My whole family loved the homely and artful feel to the cabin. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, with the baskets full of yarn and the invitation to get crafty during my stay. The surrounding area was beautiful and restful, the rain didn't bother us one bit. My daughters added that they loved the upstairs area and the canal walk.
17/12/2018Jo
The arc cabin was very cosy & warm with the woodburner. Comfortable sofa & bed, lots of books & cooking equipment. Elton is a nice village with 2 good pubs for food & drink.
09/11/2018Tina
Excellent stay. The Arc did not disappoint. Great homely decor, lovely location.
26/10/2018Suzanne
Absolutely amazing place. Couldn't have asked for more
22/10/2018Matthew
We found this spot to be very relaxing, peaceful, calming and full of the sounds and sights of nature. We were blessed with good, dry weather and a couple of glorious sunsets, clear skies full of stars. We switched off from outside world almost immediately. The facilties inside and out were short of nothing, bearing in mind we were not looking for 'all mod con's'.
18/06/2018Sean
We have stayed here before and it was just as good this time as it was back then.
13/04/2018Darren
My girlfriend and I spent 3 lovely nights at The Arc, despite the awful weather, we still managed to go for a long(ish) walk, visit a couple of pubs ( a couple of times each) and see some of the beautiful village of Elton. Lotte has decorated the cabin beautifully, and ensured there is everything you could ever need. There were plenty of cooking utensils, spices and a big kitchen area, which meant we could hide away cooking u[ some feasts while it rained. I would certainly return, and I think The Arc would be lovely in any season.
30/03/2018Sam
Such a lovely peaceful time of recuperation and reconnecting with my partner. We wanted to have some time together out of the city and in nature...and that's exactly what we got! It was a wonderful time.
09/03/2018Nick
We went away for our anniversary, what was important for us was that we had time together and to get away from everything. The arc was the perfect place for this. Using the extensive kitchen utensils to cook food and having evenings in front of the fire. We also had quite a few day trips out in the surrounding areas as the Arc was so close to A1.
20/11/2017Jo
My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful time at The Arc. The location was superb (very quiet, beautiful views, homely pubs) and The Arc offered an ideal 'get-away-from-it-all' retreat. The countryside walks, many books and fun board games meant there was never a dull moment. And the huge range of cooking utensils / spices allowed us to cook to our heart's content in the kitchen. Needless to say, we had an incredible time. A huge thank you to Lotte for having us, and for treating us to some goodies on arrival.

We stayed at The Arc as a group of three and loved every minute. The cabin is quirky and cosy and an eclectic piece of art itself. We had grand plans to explore the surrounding area but found we were so content wiling away the hours cuddled up in front of the log burner under a blanket or sitting with the big bi-fold doors opened wide watching the birds on the veranda that we stayed put most of the time! We took a walk along the river making the most of the beautiful countryside and abundance of wildlife and spent some very happy evenings listening to the owls calling across the woods. Not renowned for being morning people at all, we were even coaxed early from our beds one morning to watch the sunrise as the dawn chorus was so incredible! I would thoroughly recommend The Arc if you're looking for a rural retreat, we felt so relaxed & at home in our hideaway in the woods that I'd go back tomorrow if I could!

The Arc is a beautiful little hideaway with a porch and lovely homely features; a perfect getaway from city life. There's a nest in the roof with two resident turtle doves and plenty of rabbit and wildlife to spot. Nice little touches include natural bubble bath for the freestanding bath and a bath caddy for candles, which is perfect for a stress relief. You can take a walk into the local village of Elton for a pint or dinner or a stroll through fields next to the river. It's great for a weekend break. Just be aware that the main house is next door, but you feel alone because there's plenty of shrubs and trees to separate you. Enjoy!

The Arc cabin is beautifully decorated, super quiet and cosy. The mezzanine space for kids (despite us not having any) is a design feature that i'm sure all kids would love. The surrounding area is full of wide-open space for walking and enjoying life by the river. Though when the rain or cold days come, you can enjoy peace and quiet by the warmth of the wood burner. The wood burner even has a cooking space which we cooked pizzas in, living that luxury life. Local shops stocking local goods are a must to hit up if you're into cooking, but if not, the Crown Inn has all your dinner needs sorted in a traditional family run pub fashion and is only a 5 minute walk away.

We had a lovely peaceful stay. We were a little suprise the arc was in such close proximity to the main house as all the photos do lead you to feel it's on its own in the middle of nowhere. We did feel a little disappointed at this. We didn't see or hear anything from the house and once inside we soon forgot. My husband enjoyed a local geocaching route while I caught up with my studies.

4 days of bliss!! What a super place. This cabin is so welcoming and feels like home in moments. We cooked outside as the sun wet down, snoozed in the afternoons on the veranda, fed ourselves popcorn cooked in the log burner oven and watched the wildlife pass the day like us. Places such as these are invaluable in our busy lives today. We return home sufficiently cleansed to take on work, kids and modern life for a least a week! We will endeavour to make more time to do nothing.

The Arc is a beautiful, peaceful and comfortable place to stay. Loved all the quirky features and the imaginative recycled items. Well stocked with everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one. Everywhere was clean apart from the little nooks & crannies where one or two spiders might make their home, which is what you would expect here anyway. My 17yr old enjoyed sleeping on the mezzanine which was easily reached with a robust wooden ladder. Mornings are beautiful with the sun shining across the garden and onto the outside balcony where you can sit in comfy armchairs and enjoy the atmosphere. Also in the evening, sit and watch the sunset through the trees, with plenty of blankets to keep you warm. A walk through the garden leads to the River Nene. Lotte left a lovely welcome hamper of goodies to get us started, which was very welcome. Overall I loved the Arc, although my husband & son were a little less keen as, although there was wi-fi, the internet was slow and no TV plus one or two spiders - but that's just their personal preference. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Peaceful, tranquil, relaxing. Had great fun watching the neighbours - collared doves in the eaves, rabbits playing "chase me", red kites soaring, herons fishing, little wren going about her business, great tits, blue tits, dunnocks, brave little robin, and the cheekiest of all the raven knocking on the verandah door at 5:45 asking for food.....

This was a 3 night stay away for my husband & I who both work full time and have very busy day to day lives. Our daughter was away on a college trip and this we an ideal opportunity to take some time for ourselves. Nice place for young kids but not for teenagers! This was perfect, quiet, nice countryside, self contained with lots of outdoor places to see and visit. Everything was provided for and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Well rested. No TV, but not required as there was plenty to do. Wifi available.

We had a wonderful stay at The Arc and only have kind words to say about it. It was easy to find and there was convenient parking. The Arc looked beautiful inside, a perfect mix of cosy and homely but also with a surprising amount of room to make it feel spacious. There were so many little touches left by Lotte that enhanced our experience. Jam, bread and cake greeted us on arrival and there were fresh milk and butter in the fridge. Freshly picked flowers were dotted around in little vases and the Arc looked very clean and welcoming. We loved how comfortable The Arc was, especially the bed and the sofa. The kitchen was great to cook in with a great range of utensils provided. There was a generous amount of wood provided for the fire and we never needed to purchase any more. The Arc stayed warm and cosy throughout our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Arc, everyone we met was friendly and enthusiastic. The veranda is an absolute dream and I happily watched the sunset each night covered in lots of blankets. The bed is very comfy and the kitchen area has everything you could imagine.

Fantastic place, Lotte has create an outstanding tranquil place that once you sit on the veranda you lose all desire to do anything or go anywhere

What can I say but WOW! My husband, I and our baby had the most magical stay at The Arc. Such a beautiful space and relaxing hideaway. We especially loved the fairy lights on the Veranda, lighting the Fire Pit and having Smores in the evening. Lotte was very helpful and lovely. We have of course recommended The Arc to everyone that we know.
24/08/2015Chloe
When we arrived we were instantly in love with the location and of course The Arc itself. The Arc was presented stunningly with a welcome message from Lotte with all we needed to know including some locally sourced bread, jam, piccalily and homemade lemon drizzle cake! Yum! The place was fully equipped with everything we needed, from all kitchen utensils, pans, pots, plates etc etc. Beautiful bed linen and towels also provded. Not to mention the massive collection of interesting books to delve into. The veranda was our favourite part of The Arc - the photos do not do it justice, its truly breath taking. Comfy armchairs to relax the day away (we had a few really good drawing sessions too!) theres also a dining table and chairs where we wined and dines every evening whilst over looking the fire pit and natural beauty surrounding. I highly recommend anyone to visit this place, its very inspiring and something we would love to create of our own one day. Thank you!

Amazing, very relaxing and inspirational setting.

We came to The Arc for our "mini-moon" after our wedding. It was a perfect getaway from hectic city life; private & secluded. Our host, Lotte, was very welcoming and introduced us to the place, then left us to our own devices. Even though the main house was nearby, we felt like we were the only souls around for miles. The views were stunning from the cabin! We would sit, eat and read on the porch for hours. And the interior of the cabin is far more beautiful in person than the photos give them credit for. Lotte had also left out a wonderful welcome basket with some small treats to get us started. All in all, a wonderful first experience of glamping. We have definitely found a new hobby!
29/06/2015Jade
Had a wonderful time at the ARC; We had preparation and the wedding of our daughter prior to our stay so it was heaven, so peaceful, tranquil, surrounded by nature, a little gem ; time for lots of R & R; our hostess Lottie was lovely & left some goodies for us on arrival; local pubs 10 minutes walk away and the beautiful town of Stamford close by; wonderful stay
19/06/2015Ellie
A very quiet and thoughtful spot but not that far from a charming village pub. The owner has taken time and really thought about the items she's placed in the cabin, some items bring back childhood memories and others were used to make new memories. The welcome goodies were a pleasant surprise and ideal after a long journey.
05/06/2015Helen
It was wonderful, very quiet and peaceful. lovely views with a gorgeous sunset. Lotte had thought of everything, there wasn't anything else we needed, it was all there. Bed was comfortable, roll top bath with candlelight, amazing. Sitting out on the veranda with candles, fairylights and a glass of wine - Heaven Sitting in front of the beautiful log burner, relaxing.
29/05/2015Carol
We had an amazing time at the Arc. Lotte was very welcoming and it was lovely to receive some welcome gifts of bread, butter, milk, jams and cake. The whole place was spotless and had everything we could need from fluffy towels, kitchen equipment and food basics to plenty of blankets and things to do. My daughter loved the painting materials and i rediscovered a love of knitting. We walked the river path down into the village and found everything we needed at the local shop. Both pubs in the village were nice but the Black Horse edged it for welcome and choice of ales - the food was also very tasty and service good. The verandah was lovely for sitting out on and we saw lots of wildlife such as rabbits, swans, woodpeckers and red kites. Very quiet and very relaxing.

The Arc is a beautiful little haven, full of lovely things to look at and do. We took our 10 Mth old Daughter who loved the bright and interesting space. Plenty of room for the travel cot and a big table to sit at as a family to share meals.Lotte has thought of everything, the kitchen is extremely well equipt, delicious bubble bath in the bathroom, fresh flowers dotted around everywhere and the decor is bright and cheerful. This truly is a relaxing retreat and a few days were not long enough! At night we sat out on the fairylit veranda soaking up the peacefulness. The bed felt sumptuous and the bath was a delight! This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay, surrounded by lots of places to visit. Thought to be honest we could have happily spent all three days and nights wallowing in the comfort of the Arc.
05/05/2015Paula
The Arc is a magical place. High quality furnishings, even though everything is pre-loved. We find it relaxing and cosy and comfy. Lotte was very welcoming and had attended to all the details.
06/04/2015Sharon
The Arc is a little bit of paradise in the countryside. As soon as we walked through the door we felt relaxed. I fell in love with the decor from the photos online, and I fell even more in love when we got there. Lotte's attention to detail is great. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great too. The village is very pretty and the food at The Crown pub was amazing! The Arc is very well equipped for eatting in, the little hamper Lotte leaves of local bread, jam, cake and milk is beautiful. It was the perfect way to spend our first wedding anniversary sipping champagne on the varander in the morning and more champagne in the evening watching a beautiful sunset (perfectly positioned for the sunset) fairy lights on with the bonfire blazing. Beautiful, loved every minute. Thank you
20/03/2015Jenna
We had a lovely relaxing stay at the arc. Lots of little touches, such as snow drops in tiny vases, high quality linen on the bed and super soft towels made this a very special and memorable place to stay.

"We had a wonderful stay at the Arc. Lotte communicated all we needed to know, well in advance and offered to cook dinner for our arrival which we took her up on as we were arriving late. The food was lovely and plenty of it and really reasonably priced. I chose the Arc as a Birthday surprise for my husband and needed somewhere half way between our home in Manchester and the in-laws in Ipswich - the Arc was perfect. No TV, just a cosy woodburner, some music, good food and wine and a good book. If you want to get away from it all this is ideal. It was made even nicer by all the extras Lotte provides for her guests - local jam, bread, organic butter and milk to name a few - really nice. Set in the lovely village of Elton about 10-15 mins easy walk from the centre where there s a local shop and a couple of great pubs, you are in a relaxing oasis. shielded from the main house, not overlooked but with easy access should you need it, we had a perfect stay."

"It was absolutely brilliant! We loved the cabin, the layout, the amazing details in the interior design, the friendliness of the owners next door, the beautiful setting by the River Nene and the utter peacefulness which is what we were seeking. Sitting by the log burner reading books and listening to music was our idea of bliss! And the weather was fantastic too"

"We had a wonderful stay at The Arc. Highlights of the trip were snuggling up by the wood burner, playing Scrabble, cooking, looking through the books, soaking in the tub, watching the sunset on the porch, meeting interesting locals in the pub, and making some art! It was perfect for a romantic getaway"

"We loved The Arc it is an incredible place. We stayed for 2 nights after our wedding and it was totally perfect to get away from everything and everyone. There is quite literally everything you could possibly need or want! We can't wait to go back and will be recommending to all our family and friends. Exceeded our expectations. Lotte has thought of everything!"

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful, relaxing and safe for the boys to run around. The Arc is well equipped and comfortable - the roll top bath was my special treat. There were plenty of walks and adventures. Elton is a lovely village with handy shop and Stanford is a beautiful place to visit."
20/09/2014Adeline
"We had a wonderfully peaceful, relaxed stay. The owner was friendly, helpful and close by, but kept a discreet distance for the duration of our stay. The accommodation was a beautifully cosy and homely cabin and the location so far removed from our usual city centre habitat that it was sheer bliss. Our 15 year old daughter was very sceptical about the idea of staying in a cabin (with no TV!) before we arrived - but within minutes of arrival she'd changed her mind and is eager to return."
13/08/2014Janette
"Absolutely perfect, quiet and secluded."

"Property was bigger than we expected and attention to detail was very good. Very romantic and perfect for us as a couple."

"We had a great time. The cabin was in an amazing setting surrounded by wildlife - butterflies, dragonflies and woodpeckers to name a few. The cabin itself was lovely, really homely with comfy beds and a nice bathroom and living area. It was extremely relaxing. Lotte was great, very friendly. We were welcomed with homemade lemon cake. There's a great village pub 10 minutes away. We would definitely recommend it."

"It was amazing, Lotte our host was lovely, the cabin was perfect. We had a relaxing 3 days away from our busy life and came home refreshed. We will be booking the Arc again, can't wait to go back. Best was, having no tv phone or internet, although the Arc did have wifi you wanted it, and worst was leaving! It was perfect, Lotte knows her stuff."

We had a wonderful time at The Arc. It’s a beautiful cabin in such a peaceful location. You can enjoy quiet privacy but also do a quick run to the village store or one of the pubs. We also took advantage of the local walking trails to see nearby villages as well. Well hopefully be back to experience the cabin in the summer.

We had a fabulous time in this wonderfully cosy cabin. Everything was provided for our much needed short break to feel like an escape from the world.

A beautiful quiet stay that gave us chance to relax and listen to the sounds of the countryside.

Wonderful place. We relaxed, listening to forest birds and watching the sunset from the veranda. Otters, woodpeckers, kingfishers. Many walks around, nice pubs. All the amenities for cooking.

Lovely cabin far enough away to make you feel isolated but close to everything you can want to do or see. Fantastic location close to the river with loads of wildlife on the doorstep. Magical.

We had a lovely relaxing few days in this beautiful and peaceful cabin. Sitting out on the verandah watching the wildlife and the beauty of nature all around us is what really made it for us.

Excellent stay. The Arc did not disappoint. Great homely decor, lovely location.

Thank you!

A very quiet and thoughtful spot but not that far from a charming village pub. The owner has taken time and really thought about the items she's placed in the cabin, some items bring back childhood memories and others were used to make new memories. The welcome goodies were a pleasant surprise and ideal after a long journey.

The Arc is a magical place. High quality furnishings, even though everything is pre-loved. We find it relaxing and cosy and comfy. Lotte was very welcoming and had attended to all the details.

Thank you
