Overview
Magic Mushroom cabin with its chunky log walls and wonky, grass-covered roof sits by the pond and the veg patch in Amanda’s garden, and its location just up from the house is no coincidence. It’s been Amanda’s favourite spot for years, mostly because of her Auntie Annie, who often worked among the trellises and plants, singing as she went. First the idea was a bench, then an arbour and then an octagonal summerhouse, but none of them seemed enough. A small inheritance after Annie’s passing sparked an idea, and a carpenter friend was engaged to make “something” out of reclaimed tree trunks from the nearby Fawsley Estate. Soon, farmers passing on the nearby road would stop and offer turf or wildflowers for the roof, and the quaint space slowly took shape.
The end result is a song in itself. Amanda has kept the space simple but amazing, with rugs over the rough stone floor, bright Indian patterns on the sofa beds and lighting from strings of fairylights, bunches of lanterns and the wood-burner, although more prosaic electricity is available. All of this make for a totally unique stay, taking you away from the every-day to a life more connected to the wild nature around you. So wild, you can fall asleep with the sounds of nature and the trees whistling in the breeze. The toilet cabin is just outside. Get the pizza oven going and, when you’re sitting out on the deckchairs with a hot slice of fresh pizza and a drink in your hand, take a moment, as Amanda always does, to say a quiet, “thanks Annie” for Magic Mushroom cabin and the peaceful place it’s a part of.

Amanda is a qualified Reiki Master and can offer relaxing and balancing Reiki treatments at £45 for 45 mins. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Meet Amanda
Amanda is a happy-go-lucky lady, married to Dave, with 3 grown up boys. She loves cooking, meeting new interesting people, long distance trail walking and horse riding. A qualified Holistic Practitioner specialising in Reiki, Angel Healing, Colour/Vibrational Therapy and Indian Head Massage, Amanda's life motto is 'Seize The Day'.
Magic Mushroom cabin was a real community project with local farmers even donating bits of their land for the roof and sustainably sourced tree trunks from the local Fawsley Estate!
Wildlife & Environment
Magic Mushroom cabin is surrounded on one side by farmers' fields and on the other side by the owners’ house. You’ve got the whole garden to explore, probably a couple of minutes walk. Between the cabin and the fields are a couple of large vegetable beds and a pond with plenty of dragonflies and butterflies flitting around in the summer months. There are fish in the pond which are happy to be fed and plenty of garden birds plus a pair of nesting buzzards nearby. Every year a pair of ducks make the pond their home for the brief mating season. There are also swifts that nest in the rafters. During April/May it is possible to see a pair of Egrets which fish in the stream in front of the cottage. There is also a beautiful heron which you might spot early mornings! Living in the countryside, rabbits are plentiful and can often be seen hopping around the garden. Horse riders amble past most days. The field opposite is full of sheep.

Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous location, feels really out of the way despite being close to a main road. Easy to get to by public transport. Is warm and cozy with good amenities. Our hosts were lovely and accommodating. Perfect place to see stars. It really doesn't feel like you're just off the cusp of Northampton. We had awful wind and rain during our stay which limited our options for activities but we just stayed in, read books, watched movies and had a fantastic time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Truly magical, owners so nice and helpful
22/11/2024Hannah
Absolutely perfect. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They really had thought of everything. The cabin was cosy, with all the amenities one would need, a perfect setting!
04/10/2024Jess
Absolutely amazing! Couldn’t have gone better! It was even more beautiful in person, even though it’s in someone’s backyard when you’re there you feel completely alone and at peace. It has everything you need for a relaxing couple nights away, we cooked all meals on the fire, bbq or pizza oven. All kitchenware was supplied, lovely clean shower and toilet, constant supply of clean cold and hot water. Sleeping was very cosy and warm. They had towels, blankets for inside and outside, small fridge and even left us a small pint of milk and a bottle of Prosecco for us. There are loads of places to go out and eat or you can even get takeaway delivered. It was just what we hoped for. No complaints at all.

We absolutely loved our quirky little stay last weekend. Everything was clean, warm, well equipped, and beautiful. We felt very well looked after. The local area is lovely too and we'd never had discovered it otherwise. Would love to come back again in spring /summer months, but it's lovely in winter too, we were so cosy with the twinkly lights, and sat out at the fire pit and woke up to beautiful frosts over the fields. Would definitely recommend.

What a fantastic time we had here! Such a quirky setting to relax in. We made pizza on the pizza stove, bbq another night, fire pit under the festoon lights and sat looking out over the crop fields. Lots of kitchen equipment to use and washing facilities in the Butt Hut! The owners literally have everything covered.

I simply can’t put in to words just how magical The hobbit house and it’s surrounding is. The perfect little hideaway to just sit relax and soak up the wildlife and beautiful setting. The Hobbit house is so magical and really comes to life at night, lit up by the fairy lights. Amanda is a fabulous host, and provides almost everything you could need for your stay. The manual book provided was very informative and provided lots of information of places to see in the area. Thankyou for sharing your beautiful home with us and we will be back soon !
08/06/2022Bianca
Amazing few days. Wonderful house equipped with everything you need. Great hosts.
30/05/2022Elizabeth
We had the most perfect stay at The Hobbitty House! It is such a quirky and unusual little house where every little detail has been thought of making our stay the most comfortable and relaxing time ever. It was blissful to be able relax and read with the ducks by the pond, or enjoy delicious home made pizzas by the fire pit under the fairy lights or enjoy walks and bike rides in the local countryside. Amanda and Dave were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome, they really have thought of everything. The Hobbitty House is so full or character and little curiosities that even up until the last moment we were still discovering things we hadn’t seen before! We enjoyed cooking at the Hobbitty House, but it’s also close to some really lovely pubs if you fancy a night off. We also enjoyed some delicious take always from nearby Daventry. My only regret is not booking an extra day or two, we’d certainly relish more time chilling by the pond. We will certainly return and thanks to Amanda for the birthday bubbles!

We stayed at the hobbit house this easter half term week. Myself and husband and 7 year old son. It is set in a beautiful location over looking fields in a quiet corner. We where blessed with sunshine and our little boy enjoyed feeding the fish and pheasants that wonder by. It really is a breath taking place. We enjoyed pizza by the fire and there really is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hobbit house looks so pretty at dusk, with twinkling fairy lights so magical. We where warm and cosy with the log burning fire and Amanda was on hand to help out with any questions. We had a wonderful stay and made many memories I will cherish forever. Thank you Amanda for letting us share in your magical place xx

The Hobbit House was absolutely amazing, so peaceful and tranquil, there is everything you could ever need. Some really nice walks down the canal to the cafe and pub. The host Amanda is lovely and makes you feel so welcome, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

We loved it from start to finish. The Hobbit house was so stunning and so cosy. The fairy light were a brilliant touch for both inside and outside the house. Our hosts were so lovely and very welcoming. Can't wait to go again.
24/01/2022Ryan
We had a really nice time at the Hobbit house, it was so pretty and cosy, much warmer than we anticipated for December!
16/12/2021Rozanna
My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at the Hobbit House. Amanda greeted us on arrival and had sent us lots of information beforehand. The House had everything we needed and was very clean. We loved the firepit and pizza oven and was a much needed bit of peace and quiet for a few days. So much to do locally and we explored Warwick, Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon. Would highly recommend the Hobbit House - it is a truly magical place to stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Amanda replied quickly to any messages (I asked to borrow some board games and she dropped them off straight away) and she left us a bottle of prosecco as it was my boyfriends birthday trip away! Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much - it was perfect.
11/11/2021Alison
Wow, what can I say. What a wonderful break we had in the most quirky and comfortable Canopy & Stars property. Instagram photos did not do The Hobbit House justice, it was so much more than we expected for our very first C&S vacation. Amanda, the host, was such a lovely kind lady and made us feel at home and showed us all we needed to know. You would never have know you were in her back garden. The House was comfy, warm, cosy and so very quirky, you kept finding more unusual things placed around the walls. On our first night we fired up the Pizza Oven, lit the fire pit and chilled outside on a starry October evening. I am not a camper but this was lovely. The Butt Hut was just outside the back door so you didn't have far to go to use the facilities. We had the best two nights stay and came away recharged and relaxed. I would recommend this to anyone wanting somewhere different to stay
11/10/2021Claire
Such an amazing weekend in the week! As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Amanda and shown around the hobbit house. It is amazing! So beautiful and felt really magical too :) everything was spot on and Amanda was on hand for anything we needed. Really can't say anything bad about it at all, really recommend it!
05/10/2021Sheerin
The loveliest stay at hobbit house, it was the perfect place for a couple.
01/09/2021Hannah
The Hobbit House is absolutely magical! We booked a stay here for a 30th birthday with our 6 month old baby and everything we needed was available, all we had to bring was our crib. Amanda has thought of absolutely everything, with so many little touches and special features. Our favourite things were the outdoor washing up and views, the personality of the decor and the pizza oven and outdoor area. It was such a wonderful trip and we are so grateful such a lovely first mini break as a family. Thanks again Amanda!
18/08/2021Catherine
From the very first email from Amanda we felt welcomed and couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived Amanda came out and met us at the drive. She showed us around and explained everything we needed to know. We had a fantastic 2 days in the Hobbit House and it was a amazing experience. The 1st day we walked to the local pub along the canal what took 27 minutes for Sunday dinner and the 2nd day we just relaxed with the fire pit going and my daughter loved feeding the fish. There is everything you need on site. Not sure what else to say but I would recommend this place to everyone. Definitely be back kids free I hope.
15/08/2021Justin
Just the most magical little place, the hobbit house was perfect! Very clean and comfy! Well equipped for cooking outside , lots of cute seating areas! inside was again so clean and pretty! A great place to unwind, Location was great! And the owners were super friendly and helpful.
01/08/2021Lisa
We recently booked The Hobbit House as a birthday celebration weekend away out of London, the pictures looked amazing but I cannot stress how wonderful it is in real life. The hut was so lovely and cozy, it looks amazing outside and inside. They have decorated it so well and everywhere you look there is something cute/quirky and you just keep finding more things each day! The actual hut was really warm and spacious, there is an electric heater and a fire and it heats up so quickly. The fairy lights, candles and warm bedding make it extra cozy as well. The outside is fabulous, a cute seating area near the fish pond where we were lucky enough to meet a friendly duck and a few pheasants! The other side is a seating area which just has the loveliest most peaceful view and that's where we spent most of our time! The toilet is separate to the hut but really close and so nice and clean, I was a little apprehensive but it was faultless. Amanda and Dave are absolutely brilliant hosts, they made us feel so welcome and really went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice/stress free stay there. I can't recommend this place enough and if you are thinking about booking it, do it!
25/06/2021Charlotte
We initially chose this particular accommodation because it was so unique. We were made very welcome from start to finish, and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the facilities, including the pizza oven and barbecue. It all suited us down to the ground, with outside lighting and a fire pit to keep us warm into the night. Shower and toilet facilities were also excellent. The actual Hobbit House was so cosy and warm - even through the frosty nights that we experienced during our stay. We cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough - it was truly amazing.

I would recommend anyone to stay at The Hobbit house, it is absolutely magical. You have everything you could wish for and so much more.
11/10/2020Debra
Simply put it was perfection. The photographs don’t do the hobbit house justice. When you arrive you catch a glimpse of the place that awaits you, and as you approach you cannot help but smile inside with anticipatory giddiness. The attention to detail is astounding, even on departure you are still discovering elements that make this place a wonder to behold. You simply do not want to leave and can’t wait to return. Make the effort to make this place your next destination getaway. The facilities are well thought out and add to the charm of the experience. I don’t want to say too much because you simply have to experience this beautiful gorgeous place. A true experience for the senses and proof that what you can imagine you, can be one a reality. Amanda and Dave ~ Thank you for sharing this beautiful place.

One word sums up our stay “perfect”. The Hobbit House was the perfect place to be, set in peaceful surroundings you could sit and look out for miles across the farmers fields or sit on the patio next to the pond listening to the trickle of water. When the day came to an end there were both inside and outside lights which added to the relaxing atmosphere, we loved sitting inside with the log burner on, snuggled under the quilt with just the light from the fairy lights. The bathroom was just a little walk behind the house which was well lit and a torch was provided for the middle of the night (just in case) although it was in a shed it really didn’t feel like that and it was spotless. Everything you could need was provided from towels to frying pans and nothing was too much trouble, Amanda and Dave were the perfect hosts. This truly is a special place and not one to be missed, add it onto your bucket list and you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed at the Hobbit House for 3 nights to celebrate our 1st Wedding anniversary. Gorgeous house, wonderfully pretty grounds and Amanda and Dave couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended for complete peace and tranquility.

The Hobbit House is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed - we loved everything about it! Amanda was the kindest host we've ever met and seems to genuinely enjoy making people feel comfortable and at home. Check in was easy and everything was covered, social distancing and cleaning had been done to the highest standard. Amanda has thought of everything you could possibly need during your stay and the house really does feel like a home away from home. We stayed for two nights and even as we were leaving we were noticing little things that we hadn't seen before, like the fairy doors and moon gazing hare, all the little touches make the house even more special. We will definitely be going back at the next chance we get to stay in this beautiful house!

This was our 4th stay with Canopy and Stars, and once again, it did not disappoint. The Hobbit House is a very special little place, in amazing surroundings. Had lots of sleep and lots of cheese whilst there and it was just what was needed. Loved all the little seating areas, especially at night when all the tea lights have been lit. Just a very magical place.

We were bought the weekend stay as a Christmas present. The Hobbit House is an amazing, magical place and David and Amanda thought of everything to enhance our stay. There is no end to the amount of accessories which are provided. We used the pizza oven and the griddle with great success. The log burner is great and we slept under the toastiest duvet cover ever!!! There are so many little quirky things scattered around we were still spotting new ones at the end of the weekend. Book a stay there and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Amazing! Such a cute little place to stay full of lovely little details.
14/03/2020Gemma
My husband and I had the most wonderful time at the Hobbit House, we where greeted by Amanda who showed us everything we needed to know about staying here. It was do cosy inside with the wood burner and we came away so relaxed and calm.

I had a lovely stay in the hobbit house! The weather was awful but the hobbit house was incredibly warm with the fire going the perfect place to have a glass of wine of cup of tea while it’s pouring with rain outside.
28/02/2020Tamsin
Special stay in a special place, very quirky and fun, lovely for a cosy night in and it was a very special touch to have nice breakfast items provided. The hosts could not do enough to ensure we had a flawless night.
26/02/2020Sarah
Lovely and warm, cosy surrounds, just far enough off of the beaten track to feel like you were away from life but still within close enough proximity to shops and food. Snowed whilst I was there and the log burner and heater kept me so cosy, I sat watching it in the dark. The host is amazingly attentive, making sure that I had everything I could want and more, whilst still giving me privacy. The house looks over fields and I even had an owl sighting. Beautiful place.
24/02/2020Miss
Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved our short stay in this amazing little hobbit house. The house itself, inside and out, was beautifully decorated with fairy lights and comfortable furniture that made our stay extremely cosy. Amanda was very accommodating, tending to our every need and on hand at any time to help to make sure we were well catered for. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.
05/01/2020Tom
Absolutely amazing! Even in January when the weather is cold, it was still an amazing place to stay. The beautiful fairy lights and comfortable furniture made our stay relaxing and enchanting. Our hosts Dave and Mandie were both so incredibly lovely and helpful; only ever a call away if needed. A great breakfast selection (pastries, fruit, porridge, cereal bars, jam, butter milk, range of tea bags) was left for us upon arrival, along with a tour of the house so we knee where absolutely everything was. There was also a helpful manual left so if we forgot anything we could read back, and it also contained useful info about the surrounding area, restaurants and emergency services. Overall, we had a wonderful and will definitely be going back.
03/01/2020Laura
We stayed in November for a weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday. Lovely welcome, friendly and helpful hosts who thought of everything and were on hand if needed. Lovely breakfast items etc for us to enjoy.
22/11/2019ANNA
Dave and Amanda are such lovely people and went out of their way to make our stay special! The place is magical and made us feel peaceful the moment we got there. Even though it rained in one of the days we still had an amazing time just watching films, reading and observing all the little details and surprises you find in the house, not to mention the amazing view outside. This trip was a birthday gift for my husband and he said it was the best birthday he's ever had! I have recommended the Hobbit House to all my friends and would definitely go back
17/10/2019Amanda
We stayed at the hobbit house early October and it was lovely. Such a pretty peaceful place the hobbit house is truly magical. Full of surprises with something to see in every nook and cranny, fairies in the garden painted ladybird stones nestled into the woodwork. We were welcomed by Amanda who had added little personalised touches to make our stay extra special. Amanda really has thought of everything and the hobbit house is fully equipped. Absolutely lovey Thank you Amanda x
04/10/2019Carol
We throughly enjoyed our stay. It was a great place to spend our special anniversary. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
01/09/2019Clare
The hobbit house was perfect. There are plenty of areas to sit outside and the inside is very cosy. The hosts were fantastic explaining how/ where everything was. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Hobbit House for people wanting to get away from it all.

Found the property charming. Everything was provided to make our short stay stress free. Would recommend to most of our friends.
10/05/2019eileen
What a magical stay! Who would have thought a tiny little Hobbit House could contain so much. The sofa bed was incredibly comfy, the sheets were lovely and clean and even though it's a small space we never felt cramped. It was very cold outside during our stay but they have done an excellent job at keeping the heat in, (with draft protectors, a heater and a fire). We were actually so snug when we went to sleep. The owners, Amanda and Dave, have thought of everything and they were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. They left a more than generous and yummy breakfast for us and there wasn't one thing that we thought, oh we wish we had that. Plus, even though the Hobbit House is quite close to the main house you still feel like you've got your own space and Amanda & Dave make sure that you have your own privacy, whilst always being on hand if you need any help. Definitely take a pizza base use the outside oven, it makes ordinary bases taste 1000 better and is lots of fun. We went on walks and runs but most of our time was spent relaxing in the comfort of our tiny temporary home. It's so lovely, you have to go.
13/04/2019Lydia
Lovely stay at the Hobbit House this weekend. Quirky little place, immaculate inside and out, and so well equipped with everything we may of needed. The hosts were really welcoming and have clearly poured a lot of love and care into this little place. We enjoyed walks straight from the Hobbit House along the canal (with compulsory pub stop of course :) We also visited National Trust Canons Abbey and Badby Woods all within a couple of miles. We had a go with the Pizza Oven, enjoyed the welcome provisions provided by the hosts and generally enjoyed relaxing in this unique place. Highly recommended !!
31/03/2019Gayle
Helpful communication from host in advance tailored to our young family. Warmly welcomed and introduced to the beautiful accommodation. Clean, tidy and fantastically decorated house made for a exciting trip. Blessed with great weather we embraced the opportunity to eat and play outside as much as possible. Facilites and provided equipment perfect for what we needed. All the the family loved experiencing living in smaller, more basic environment. Opened our eyes to the necessities in our own lives. Would highly recommend it to anyone with a toddler, however a closer eye is needed to prevent them from breaking the beautiful decorations.

We had a wonderful time at The Hobbit House in Northampton. Amanda was extremely welcoming and kind upon our arrival. The house itself has a lot of charm, it's very cosy with lots of blankets and lovely twinkling fairy lights (inside and out) which makes the place feel very special. We particularly enjoyed using the pizza oven on Friday night, which made our pizzas taste delicious – we were very impressed! The house is in a good location, with some lovely attractions nearby. We visited the Evenley Wood Garden on Saturday, which was beautiful and very peaceful. Then on to Buckingham for a nice stroll around in the afternoon. Overall, the weekend was just what we needed – a very peaceful escape to the countryside, in a cosy, cute little home!
22/02/2019Sarah
Our stay in The Hobbit House was as enchanting as we hoped it would be. Set in a beautiful secluded location, the Hobbit House and its quirky decoration put smiles on our faces from first look to when we left.
04/02/2019Heidi

Perfect! Couldn't recommend it highly enough, what a beautiful place within a lovely setting. We'll definitely be coming back.

A tranquil, quirky glamping experience, the Hobbit House was truly amazing. Spent the whole weekend seeing new things hidden in the walls only noticing things as the light changed. Everything you could need was provide by the hosts David and Amanda, Thank you!
16/11/2018Sue
We wanted a quirky place where we could shut the world out and relax and this is exactly what we got with this property. It was so peaceful and such a lovely little space, we literally didn't leave the hut for the full 3 days we were there
22/10/2018Charlotte
What an amazing place, we loved the Hobbit House, in the countryside surrounded by fields and so peaceful. Amanda's garden is a beautiful garden and far enough from the house to feel like we were just on our own. Amanda and Dave were fantastic hosts who made us very welcome but left us to our own devices, unless we wanted anything. We loved sitting outside by the pond even when there was a bit of rain we were dry under the overhang of the Hobbit House and we lit the firepit and cooked marshmallows which was lovely on a cooler night. The stove in the Hobbit House kept us very cosy. We had a fantastic weekend.
13/10/2018Gina
We arrived early on the Saturday afternoon to be greeted warmly by the hosts. We stayed two nights. It was great !!
08/09/2018Richard
An amazing stay from arrival to departure.Amanda and David could not have been more obliging.Everything we could have wished for and more besides including a birthday gift.Sit outside overlooking the pond or across the fields watching the buzzards and kestrels.Inside so many things to find.If you are the star gazing type you can leave the curtains open at night and lay in bed and look up at the stars before dropping off to sleep.
27/08/2018Peter
Beautiful place to stay. So many quirky features. Perfect for a cosy weekend away. Time to just relax and enjoy the countryside views. The owners were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
25/08/2018Becky
I enjoyed the stay it was very peaceful and relaxing place
21/08/2018Hellena
We loved staying in the Hobbit hut, it was warm, snug and peaceful. We couldn't believe our luck when we found this wonderful place so close to the location of a family wedding, the rest of the family stayed at the generic hotel nearer to town but we were the lucky ones. The owners had thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We would happily stay there again .
11/08/2018Kim
We had a lovely time with my 5 daughter and my15 years old niece. A perfect night out with kids to dosomething different.
08/08/2018Beatric
Fantastic stay. Our hosts were wonderful, the weather was perfect, and the kids had loads of fun. Shower facilities were great and the al fresco breakfast was yummy.
06/08/2018Dave
Fab place 5 star. Host was amazing really helpful, made us very welcome. Would stay at the hobbits house again
04/08/2018Samantha
Fantastic. The location is stunning, the owners were absolutely lovely, left you to your privacy. The hobbit house was beautifully designed, warm and comfortable. So many little things to look at inside the house. Great amenities outside the house, toilet and shower, cutlery, bowls, plates etc. Everything you could need. Towels provided. Logs for burner and fire pit. Pizza oven and pizza paddle were spot on. Owners left a lovely welcome package of yoghurts, granola bars, tea, coffee, sugar, orange juice, fruit, milk. Perfect. Small fridge and plug points to charge phones inside hobbit house. No WiFi, no tv, so great for a good conversational getaway. So relaxing, couldn’t want for more. Will definitely return.
20/07/2018Elaine
A relaxing two night break, away from the bustle of city life. The hobbit house was a magical place to escape, to find peace in perfect surroundings and inspiration to dream. Sharing your time and thoughts with each other, eating drinking laughing, soaking up the sunshine with a backdrop of wheat fields and the sounds of the water and bird song, and the twinkling fairy lights and warmth of the fire by night. We slept with the blinds up so the brilliance of the night sky could be seen from your bed. Sleep came easy and you wake with a smile. Leave this place if you must for walk down the canal to the local village, but you soon want to return. It’s like stepping into a place where time becomes irrelevant, where joy fills your heart and your bones feel rested. It may be small and wonky but it’s perfect in every way.
29/06/2018Kate
We had an absolutely lovely stay at the hobbit house, so peaceful and restoring for us. The house was just perfect and the facilities great. The open fields provided a lovely backdrop where we were able to listen to a lovely skylark enjoying the fabulous weather we had! The welcome supplies were very much appreciated and we loved using the little BBQ and fire pit. The house was decorated beautifully and every comfort has been well considered. We loved all the blankets and cushions which were handy in the evenings when it became a little chillier. We will be recommending a stay to our friends and family!
20/06/2018sophie
Welcomed on arrival. Felt like we were visiting family that we hadn't met before! The Hobbit House was so cool and lovely to hang out in as well as comfy to sleep in and we loved hanging out in the garden, barbecuing food and taking in the beautiful countryside views.
17/06/2018Rona
We had the most wonderful time at the Hobbit House. The most perfect surprise for my partner. Small but totally perfect. The little bathroom and kitchen area was well equipped and the tiny bed was very cosy, all helped by the very efficient wood burner in the house to make the whole experience very cosy and snuggly. Fantastic outside area beautifully lit. The owners were very welcoming. Love love this place.
06/06/2018Ali
A truly magical and charming experience. The location was peaceful and idyllic with gorgeous views and lovely walks. The Hobbit House itself had so many things to notice inside and out, from little hidden fairies to ducks by the pond. The wood burner kept us so cosy as well as the thickest duvet at night, but there were also hot water bottles, blankets and a small heater just in case we needed them. The breakfast goodies were yummy and it was a real treat to have a fridge in the house . Everything was completely clean and tidy and Amanda and Dave seem to have thought of everything. We had fabulous weather and ate breakfast outside in the sunshine. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
25/03/2018Helen
Our weekend break to the Hobbit House was great! Such a lovely place with lovely people.
16/03/2018Darren
I took my partner here for his Birthday as we have always loved Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and thought this would be a great place to stay! The hobbit house was very cosy and had everything you needed. A small fridge with a small freezer compartment is in the hobbit house, Amanda and Dave supply enough food for at least two breakfasts and milk, tea, coffee and sugar. There is a small shed at the back of the hobbit house which contains a toilet and any cooking utensils you may need. There is always access to a shower room in the main house. Outside the hobbit house there are many seating areas to sit and take in the view, along with table, fire put and pizza oven. We embraced everything there as we love the outdoors and found the hobbit house a lovely retreat after a day of exploring. Outlr dog came with us for our stay as Amanda and Dave kindly agreed to him coming along. It was a little cramped with a crate in the house too but Amanda did offer to take the sofa out to accomadate this. We didn't think it necessary for a two night stay but that would always be an option in the future. We loved our stay, it was truly magical and would go again!
13/03/2018Kelly-Louise
We had such a lovely stay at The Hobbit House. Quirky and cosy, it was the perfect place for a few nights glamping. Great, friendly hosts who were super helpful and kept checking we were warm enough in the cold weather, which was much appreciated.
26/02/2018Andrea
We had a magical stay in The Hobbit House! It was chilly outside, but warm as toast inside with the log burner going. The quirky little 'house' is one room, but it's packed with character and Amanda's styling is fabulous. There's a little loo hut next the the house which also contains all the cooking facilities. It has everything for a perfect glamp - including two very lovely hosts, Amanda and David, who couldn't have made us feel more welcome! Highly recommended.
08/02/2018Sally
Had the most amazing time at the hobbit house, truly magical and relaxing . Everything we needed was there with extras that was unexpected :-) had a lovely healing session with Amanda which I recommend. will definitely be returning can't wait to go back!
13/01/2018Georgina
Lovely warm welcome from Amanda and a truly beautiful place to stay. Nice and cut off from the world.
30/12/2017Andrew
We (myself and my partner) had an amazing adventure & stay in the hobbit house. Beautiful place, quirky and cosy. Spent the evening laughing, chilling, eating & drinking. The hosts were attentive and kind, ensuring our stay would be never forgotten., Amanda & her partner are kind and considerate, lovely couple. Would go again and again...
18/12/2017Maggi
The hobbit house is simply perfect. The hosts Amanda and Dave are fantastic, such wonderful people and Amanda gave me a wonderful reiki session which I highly recommend. Every tiny detail has been thought of in and around the house which just makes it so magical. Everything was far more amazing than we could have expected. We had the most perfect weekend for my birthday despite the cold and rain we were warm snug and well looked after! We won’t be hesitating to head back for another stay. Thank you Amanda, Dave and the hobbit house for an unforgettable weekend xx
15/12/2017Amanda
What a magical place! We thought it would be cold but were amazed at how toasty it was! We will be back. Thanks to Amanda and Dave for looking after us...
03/12/2017Laura
We loved the hobbit house. Magical. Better than expected inside.
27/11/2017David
The hosts Mandy and Dave were wonderful people, happy to go out of there way for you. It really is no surprise that the Hobbit Hole is so special with such special people behind it. The Hobbit Hole itself is a little, utterly charming sanctuary, quaint and unique in its very core. We actually don't really have the words to express just how much we loved it...
21/11/2017Amy, Suzanne and Lou-Lou
My cousin and myself had a lovely two night stay at the Hobbit House. We had a warm welcome from our host and had everything we needed to settle in quickly. The wood burning stove was on strait away and warmed up the place very quickly making it a lovely and cosy evening. Although we went out on day trips coming back to make dinner in the Hobbit House with a glass of wine by the toasty fire was the best part of our day. We didn't want to leave!
19/11/2017Emma
It was a Miami al experience from start to finish . Amanda was so helpful, emailing me so I knew what to take etc. Nothing was too much trouble . The house itself was a delight to stay in . Every time you looked around inside you found something new. Amanda left lots of items for breakfast , fresh milk, water and tea bags etc. The winter quilts were lovely and warm . They are the perfect host and we shall be returning for another visit soon
18/11/2017Denise
We had a lovely time staying at The Hobbit House. Such an interesting little place and very cleverly built. The surrounding area of the gardens etc was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back!
10/11/2017Helen
My husband and had a fantastic time, staying at the hobbit house. The house was so sweet and didn’t disappoint us, the more you looked the more appeared, even down to the mouse door! Amanda and Dave provided everything to ensure our stay was perfect!
28/10/2017Hayley
Fabulous and faultless, wonderful warm welcome, very generous hospitality tray with loads of fruit, breakfasts, even milk In the fridge. So kind. The hosts are warm and welcoming and can't do enough to please you. The Hobbit House itself is fun and quirky. Lovely knick knacks to entertain and delight. We noticed new little things every day of our stay. Great location too being close to major roads, you can walk to nice canal side pubs for dinner, a couple of takeaways will deliver and there's a local taxi. The. Taxi is a little more expensive as they are not local and, rightly, need to charge from their base to you and then your destination. Still £12 for a trip enabling me to avoid driving is good value. Back to be Hobbit House, the facilities are good and getting better with a separate, private housing for toilet anal washing facilities. We will definitely stay again.
25/10/2017Martin
We had two amazing nights in the Hobbit House with our 7 year old. It was even better than we imagined and looked magical in the evenings with the log burner and fairy lights. Definitely recommended if you want some family time. We played board games and cooked burgers on the log burner. Amanda and Dave were lovely hosts and made us feel more than welcome. We'll definitely be visiting again x
20/10/2017Edward
Mandy and David were so kind and wellcoming as hosts you could not ask for more. As for the hobbit house they have thought of everything and it was lovely inside and out. They have plans to add even more but they need not as we had everything we needed and more.
10/10/2017George
A very enchanting, magical, quirky and unique experience, we really enjoyed our stay here. Well equipped with a welcoming breakfast basket, pizza over, fire pit and wood burner. A really tranquil setting next to the fish pond it was truly magical and the house come to life at night with the fairy lights, lava lamp, and little additional trinkets and ornaments in the unique shape of the hobbit house.
29/09/2017Shaun
A few days at the Hobbit House is exactly what you need to relax and let go of everything! The house itself is beautifully decorated and has all sorts of thoughtful added extras for guests to enjoy. The grounds are wonderful and the surrounding area is fun to take walks. The owners are so welcoming and gentle. I definitely recommend a stay here!
22/09/2017Chantel
Such a labour of love, we adored our stay at The Hobbit House! From the unusual trinkets and curios that the owners had obviously collected over the years, to the hand carved door knocker and the tiny hidden fairy door, it was just beautiful. We loved sitting out by the pond and watching the butterflies and dragonflies and then the full moon and stars as it got dark. Would go back in a heartbeat!

It was the most perfect weekend visit to the hut ! I proposed to my partner in the hut. It was the most magical experience and i could not have done it without the help of the unbelievably amazing hosts ! I cant begin to express my gratitude to them. I will 100% be visiting again
04/04/2025Matthias
Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous location, feels really out of the way despite being close to a main road. Easy to get to by public transport. Is warm and cozy with good amenities. Our hosts were lovely and accommodating. Perfect place to see stars. It really doesn't feel like you're just off the cusp of Northampton. We had awful wind and rain during our stay which limited our options for activities but we just stayed in, read books, watched movies and had a fantastic time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
31/12/2024Felix
Truly magical, owners so nice and helpful

27/09/2024Kira
Absolutely wonderful few days away. Cabin is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly need. Nothing has been missed in what you need and would totally recommend

24/11/2023Jill

Amazing few days. Wonderful house equipped with everything you need. Great hosts.

Had a brilliant time at the Hobbit house. Was truly like living in a fairytale. Wife absolutely loved it. Hosts were brilliant and ensured we knew everything about the place and how to use everything. Also very easily contactable if required.

We just had the most relaxing weekend at The Hobbit House. Amanda was a wonderful host, we feel like she couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel welcome. The facilities are amazing, we couldn’t have asked for more. An absolutely perfect weekend and we can’t wait to come back.
25/02/2022Amy
The Hobbit House was absolutely amazing, so peaceful and tranquil, there is everything you could ever need. Some really nice walks down the canal to the cafe and pub. The host Amanda is lovely and makes you feel so welcome, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

We loved it from start to finish. The Hobbit house was so stunning and so cosy. The fairy light were a brilliant touch for both inside and outside the house. Our hosts were so lovely and very welcoming. Can't wait to go again.

We had a really nice time at the Hobbit house, it was so pretty and cosy, much warmer than we anticipated for December!

Just the most magical little place, the hobbit house was perfect! Very clean and comfy! Well equipped for cooking outside , lots of cute seating areas! inside was again so clean and pretty! A great place to unwind, Location was great! And the owners were super friendly and helpful.

17/04/2021Angie
Absolutely magical place that was the perfect place to hideaway and spend my birthday. Definitely recommend. Everything you could possibly need there with so many cute little touches to make it s memorable experience
30/10/2020Emma
09/10/2020Jonathan
10/09/2020Craig
My husband and I stayed at the Hobbit House for 3 nights to celebrate our 1st Wedding anniversary. Gorgeous house, wonderfully pretty grounds and Amanda and Dave couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended for complete peace and tranquility.
30/08/2020Kim
27/08/2020donna
This was our 4th stay with Canopy and Stars, and once again, it did not disappoint. The Hobbit House is a very special little place, in amazing surroundings. Had lots of sleep and lots of cheese whilst there and it was just what was needed. Loved all the little seating areas, especially at night when all the tea lights have been lit. Just a very magical place.
13/07/2020Jill
We were bought the weekend stay as a Christmas present. The Hobbit House is an amazing, magical place and David and Amanda thought of everything to enhance our stay. There is no end to the amount of accessories which are provided. We used the pizza oven and the griddle with great success. The log burner is great and we slept under the toastiest duvet cover ever!!! There are so many little quirky things scattered around we were still spotting new ones at the end of the weekend. Book a stay there and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
20/03/2020Julie

We had a lovely time staying at The Hobbit House. Such an interesting little place and very cleverly built. The surrounding area of the gardens etc was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back!

My husband and had a fantastic time, staying at the hobbit house. The house was so sweet and didn’t disappoint us, the more you looked the more appeared, even down to the mouse door! Amanda and Dave provided everything to ensure our stay was perfect!

Mandy and David were so kind and wellcoming as hosts you could not ask for more. As for the hobbit house they have thought of everything and it was lovely inside and out. They have plans to add even more but they need not as we had everything we needed and more.
