Overview
Curvy, and her sister cabin, Pointy are sat in a nine-acre field, amongst 5000 acres of The Flete Estate, and the even larger South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – you couldn’t get luckier with a locale. You’ll even be able to enjoy panoramic views of the area – which is a SSSI and marine conservation zone. Five minutes away, you’ll find the private Pamflete Beach – where you can either laze on the sands, take to the water for sports or even just wild swim.
Back at your cabin, you’re as spoiled by location as you are by design. It’s incredibly well made, with the indoors offering a giant picture window to recline with a book by. There’s a spot to sip coffee by the woodburner, an indoor shower, a kitchenette complete with an island counter – and of course, your boudoir. Move seamlessly from indoors to out, with the large Velux windows pouring in light, and the French doors leading to a picnic table outside. That’s also where you’ll find your outdoor shower, the wood-fired bath – and if you venture down towards the trees, shaded hammocks will be waiting for you, swaying in the breeze.

Meet your hosts
Meet John, Lily, Jamie & Kate
John & Lily at The Flete Estate made their first venture into glamping in 2021 with six bell tents for 56 days. A great success, they wondered how they could have guests all year. Deciding to go for a more permanent space they teamed up with Jamie and Kate of Life Space Cabins to produce Rusty Sheds – two luxury cabins set in a secluded nine-acre site, five-minutes from their private beach. With John's experience in running holiday cottage spaces and Lily, Jamie and Kate's eye for design, they have created an unforgettable experience to all their guests.
Wildlife & the environment
Undeveloped since the 1880’s, staying at Rusty Sheds gives you access to the seven miles of private wooded drives on both sides of the river. The owners are often busy planting trees, reinstating old hedgerows and digging ponds to encourage wildlife back into the farmed landscape.
The estuary is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Marine Conservation Zone which has allowed the animal life plenty of space to thrive. Curlew, oystercatchers, kingfishers and otters call the river their home and in recent years they have had visits from osprey, white stork with a little egret, a stoat and hare and even a white-tailed eagle! Just make sure you have plenty of time to take it all in.

We wanted somewhere cosy, off the grid to have some downtime outside of our busy London jobs etc and this was perfect - the location just up from the estuary and coast was perfect & the local pubs etc! We chose C&S as we wanted the back to basics chilled remote vibe, which was nailed esp with the addition of our vinyl and speaker.

Our stay in curvy was super relaxing and peaceful despite staying in the middle of storm Bert. It’s a great spot with the cabin really well setup. Carrying the paddle boards down to the river is well worth the effort too.
22/11/2024Ben
We had a fantastic time at Curvy! The space was very cosy, peaceful and well thought out - we had everything we needed right there. The highlight for us was the location - only a 5 minute walk down to the beach, which is a great place for a walk and very popular with our dog! You're never short of things to do, from paddle boarding, to the wood-fired hot tub and lots of great pubs and cafes nearby, we wish we could have stayed longer.
13/09/2024Izzy, Canopy & Stars
Stunningly beautiful spot. So quiet and peaceful. Perfect to read books and wind down. Loved walking up and down the estuary at low tide.
21/08/2024Clare
Absolutely fantastic stay. Curvy provided everything we needed both in terms of what equipment was available and the setting. A very relaxing and restorative location which was much needed after a very stressful year for our family. Perfect for a family of 4 with older children and a well behaved dog. We will be returning next year.

A special week in beautiful countryside: relaxing, inspiring and peaceful. Curvy is beautifully designed to make the most of this get away from it all unique location.

We spent a wonderful 2 night stay at Curvy and were sad to say goodbye! The cabin gave gorgeous views over the estate even when the weather wasn't the best, it was clean and cosy and had everything you needed included. Having the beach a short wander away was lovely and it was nice to have it ourselves - the dog definitely enjoyed it being on the doorstep!
12/06/2024Joanna
A very enjoyable stay with stunning scenery. Curvy was well appointed and exceeded our expectation

We stayed 3 nights. It was lovely and warm. Even when the wind was howling outside we were very comfortable and protected indoors. The place is lovely and modern and fitted out with everything that you need.
23/02/2024Holly
Magical stay at the beautiful cabin, everything that was possibly needed was there. The welcome gift of hot chocolate was really appreciated after walks exploring the beautiful coastline. The outdoor wood fired bath was incredible to watch the stars at night
04/12/2023Jenny
Fantastic stay at Curvy! Magical, romantic and so peaceful. Everything at the cabin is thought about in such detail, well designed and the stay made for a very memorable experience as I planned a surprise proposal! Amazing setting for it, nights spent in the bath under the stars was perfection!
03/11/2023Dean
It was absolutely perfect. Great communication all through; such a beautiful cabin with great aesthetics; owners had thought of everything. And of course in such a stunning location - beach, walks, great food nearby. An absolute treat.
04/10/2023Janne
Beautiful peaceful location. Curvey lacked nothing. If we needed anything it was there. Super accommodation; comfy beds; fantastic hot tub while listening to pheasants and geese. Information was brilliant and signage to Rusty Sheds and private dog friendly beach great. Maps of area, tide clock (so useful), binoculars and books on birds and outdoor living on hand; even a dog bowl! Picked a rainy time so couldn’t use the private hammocks.Grass around beautifully mowed and nice walk to the private beach just five minutes away. Super welcome pack included G&T and milk and icecream in the fridge and a very friendly welcome letter together with excellent information pack of places to go and see, to eat and emergency numbers. There was the availability of paddleboards. Close parking. Everything inside and out immaculately clean. Plenty of wood provided for the hot tub (excellent instructions on lighting) and the indoor woodburner which wasn’t needed as the underfloor heating was on. Great attention to detail. Honestly, we couldn’t have wished for better and will definitely go back. Magic!
18/09/2023Jane
Absolutely lovely stay, excellent tiny home/cabin which has been beautifully constructed with high quality appliances and facilities. Using the outdoor hot tub and shower beneath the stars was a beautiful experience. The paddle board included in the stay was a great touch with the local river Erme Estuary and Mothecombe beach within minutes from the cabin. 10/10 would recommend staying here if you are looking for a stunning retreat away
04/09/2023Isaac
What a gorgeous place to escape from it all. We were so impressed by the clever use of space in the cabin and how beautifully designed everything was, from the huge picture window to the cosy (and very comfortable) sleeping nook. What blew us away the most though was the location, with the stunning views of wildflowers, forest and rolling hills from the cabin itself, and the picturesque private cove just a short walk through the woods away. After an afternoon paddle boarding and lounging on the sand, we wandered back up to start the wood fired hot tub and watch the stars come out.

Magic!

We wanted somewhere peaceful, beautiful and relaxing near to family in Devon. It delivered on everything and so much more! From the moment we arrived we were stunned by its beautiful location. The ‘Shed’ was incredibly pretty, so well though through- a small space with absolutely everything you needed. Even down to the bathroom, everything felt luxury.
