Overview
From the cabin's lonely spot on the wooded banks of the river Eamont to the salmon swimming upstream, life here on the edge of the Lake District is slow and wild. Hike or bike the trails around Edenhall Estate or set up for an afternoon of fishing. Spot passing deer and meandering pheasants as you smoke the day’s catch over the BBQ and, post supper, you can stargaze in the hot tub.
Inside, it’s simple and cosy: comfy armchairs, a logburner, a well equipped kitchen, luxury wetroom, two bedrooms and, just for good measure, a wrought iron staircase spiralling up the third bedroom in the eaves! There’s even high speed WiFi, not that you’d know it by how far away from everything you’ll feel. The Lake District demands hearty exploration too or, at the very least, idle contemplation.

Meet your hosts
“Whene'er this cup shall break or fall, farewell the luck of Eden Hall.”
These are the ominous words uttered to the first butler of Edenhall as he stole the celebrated drinking glass called The Luck of Eden Hall from a company of fairies and refused to return it. The original hall is gone, demolished in 1934, but the impressive gate house remains. The cup, on the other hand, is still preserved to this day in The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, lest disaster befalls those that stay at Edenhall to this day.
Edenhall Estate is a much loved family home which has been in the Holden-Hindley family for four generations. Throughout that time each of them have shared a core set of family values but a timely vision for the future of this remarkable place. Edenhall is unique for many reasons, not least of all it's position in the heart of the Eden Valley. Bordered by the Rivers Eden and Eamont and nestled only minutes from both the renowned Lake District and the Pennine Fells, the sights of which surround us throughout the seasons.
Farming and sporting pursuits have remained at the core of Eden Hall throughout history and still do today. They’ve also been hard at work lovingly restoring a host of boutique accommodation available to hire, each place renovated with design and purpose at their core.
Wildlife & Environment
As well as the Lake District being nearby, the estate itself is home to deer as well as plenty of other wildlife and salmon and brown trout abound in the rivers and pools all around.

We absolutely lovely the lodge. It was so serene and hidden away from everything else. The hot tub was so wonderful and the log fire too. The lodge had everything we needed.

We loved the walk down from the carpark and met with the beautiful Lodge. 2 nights was not enough. We enjoyed early morning coffees and lazy day scrabble with the fire on and a glass of wine. It was so peaceful and just what we were looking for.
11/11/2024Tamara
Perfect lodge, spotless and had everything we needed
11/10/2024Kate
We absolutely loved our stay at the Lodge- we were so sad to leave what has been what of our best holidays ever. As soon as we arrived, we knew we were somewhere very special - the river running alongside the beautiful remote lodge, no one else around, just nature and the sound of water. Very spacious inside, comfortable beds, and wonderful kitchen facilities. We spent ages by the fire playing games, and sitting in the hot tub at night. It has been such a happy stay and such a wonderful experience as a family
26/08/2024Clare

29/12/2023Rowena
Booked 4 nights for our honeymoon, self check in directions and instructions were great. Upon arrival the estate had left us a bottle of fizz and a gorgeous bouquet. Amazing scenery and beautiful river around the lodge. Exceptionally clean throughout, didn't see another soul all week. Wildlife in abundance, heron, salmon, trout, kingfisher, deer, red squirrel. Will be going back every year.
07/08/2023Matthew
This is our second time staying at the lodge. We last stayed in February so it was nice to spend time here again during the summer. It was heavenly! We absolutely love it and plan to book again for next year.
23/06/2023Amelia
We stayed in the beautiful Edenhall Lodge, the trip was a pre Christmas getaway with some friends (Friendsmas!), the Lodge was incredible, beautiful inside and out. We stayed for 4 nights/ 5 days which was perfect, enough time to unwind, disconnect and relax.

03/06/2022Jack
Lovely, idyllic, and peaceful location on the river - would highly recommend.
20/05/2022Vivien
Wow what a stay we had. Totally private with a gorgeous hot tub to sit and watch the bats flying past in the evening. Right on the river which was just glorious, I swam in it every day and the rest of our group did some fishing. So quiet and out of the way, we didn’t see another soul and it was so nice for us and our dogs. Lovely not to have a TV so we all played games every night. Lots of wildlife to spot too.
04/04/2022Tracy
It was great, we loved the Lodge, superb location. Beautifully designed, loved the way the three main windows framed the views as you left the bedroom in the morning. The illuminated walkway from the car park was special. It rained heavily prior to our arrival, the river was high and flowing fast. Created a bit of drama, and extra connection to nature..
29/10/2021baughen

We had an amazing 3 night stay at The Lodge, we didn’t want to leave! We couldn’t believe how private and peaceful it was, it really was the perfect escape.
25/06/2021Laura
We had the most amazing time! The Lodge was everything we'd hoped it would be and more. The setting is just out of this world! We were so lucky with the weather which helped us to enjoy the weekend to the full. The Lodge is so tastefully decorated and was exceptionally clean. It has everything you need to make the most of your stay. The quality of the furniture and bedding etc was first class. Our contact, Helen, was really helpful.
14/05/2021Sally
Amazing place. Spent most of the time on the veranda looking at the river and wildlife. Felt very privileged to be able to spend time here. All booked up for next year.
10/05/2021Vicki
An amazing memorable experience! Loved it so much, we could have easily done an entire week! There is no tv, which was a bonus as it was lovely watching the river and the weather change. Loved waking up to the birds and sounds of nature in the morning and easing into bed easily with it being pitch black. Helen was amazing too! Very responsive with text messages about the surrounding areas and any questions, and Gus the grounds keeper was lovely telling us the history of the estate.

Being part of the Canopy & Stars team, I have stayed at my fair share of places and The Lodge was something really special. The setting simply takes you're breathe away, you feel like you could be in a Canadian alpine forest, completely secluded and teeming with wildlife. We whiled away hours sat on the deck with our binoculars looking out for the infamous otters, with resident kingfishers, woodpeckers and herons popping past all the time. The drop in temperature didn't matter, we still enjoyed a brisk plunge in the river, followed by warming up in the hot tub, and comfy sofas in front of the long-burner made for a cosy cabin perfect for a Autumn break. Word of advice... don't make any plans... you won't want to leave!
25/09/2020Tessa
Wonderful place to get away from it all, complete privacy, idyllic location. Totally private haven with great amenities.
18/09/2020David
It was amazing, the place is magical and we had the best time, the hosts were fantastic and were always on hand if needed. We had everything we needed for the week, we all loved it and will definitely will be booking again!
14/09/2020Kelly
An amazing 3 days at the cabin. It was beyond beautiful. The owners had thought about everything down to a towels / robes and coffee and tea. The hot tub was great and was an amazing addition. We will definitely be returning.
11/09/2020rosie
Third time to the lodge The place is magical in both good and bad weather for us it is a perfect location
27/07/2020Lesley
We were looking for a secluded place for our family and dogs where we could walk cycle and enjoy the open spaces without any close neighbours
13/03/2020Allan
It was our second stay at the lodge, but just as incredible as the first. It’s the perfect place to fully relax, you feel completely tucked away from the real word, but close enough to it if you want to venture out and enjoy the Lake District. Sitting in the hot tub with your closest friends and looking out over the river to see otters swimming along is a beautiful experience, that everyone should have. I’d have been quite happy to stay forever.
21/02/2020heather
This was our third visit to the Lodge, we love it, a proper retreat from the hussle and bussle of modern life. A chance to relax and catch some proper 'me' time. Watching the river flow past, visits from local wildlife and time to appreciate the small things in life.
07/02/2020Alison
We had a lovely weekend away with two other couples. Ample space in the Lodge with a very homely feel. It was clean and comfortable with everything that you needed. Hot tub and location were perfect for that relaxing getaway that was much needed
06/12/2019Annie
Just what we needed. Time in the outdoors, nature on our doorstep. Safe enough and spacious enough for the whole family. We booked the lodge almost 9 years ago to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday, it was a memorable location and cabin, so good to finally make it back and this time bring our children. Lovely to see the addition of two bedrooms, wifi and a hot tub, whilst not losing any of its original charm or tranquility. Perfect family time.
28/10/2019Melodie
Absolutely amazing place we had the best time and will definitely be going back.
30/09/2019Georgina
Beautiful, wonderful and secluded
27/09/2019Jane
Such a great property to stay in, We stayed Friday to Monday and did not want to leave. next time I think we will stay for a week. So secluded, no people walked past the property and it felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. The river running by at around 30 feet from the front door, the towering trees on the banks, the wildlife etc just made it the perfect place to relax. The Lodge had everything you could possibly need from a hot tub, log burner, wet room bathroom and a kitchen that wasn't missing anything. Was so nice not to have a tv too. We booked a breakfast hamper and a celebration hamper so we had lots of little treats. The area has so much to offer too so you can never get bored.
06/09/2019Dave
This was our second stay at the Lodge, and again we had a fabulous time. It is truly a magical place, a place for relaxation and unwinding. Watching the world go by from the comfort of your own veranda, spotting wildlife, otters, kingfishers and deer. Inside there are all the home comforts you need, three great bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen with SMEG appliances. Just fabulous in every way. We booked a breakfast hamper which was waiting for us when we arrived, the quality was great. We are already planning our next visit.
26/08/2019Alison
A wonderful time in a place that sets the benchmark for luxury glamping. An exceptional lodge, with a truly stunning location. Wr koved the wild swimming in the river, the last outdoor breakfasts and dinners, and the comfortable beds. Our son loved his room up the spiral staircase. A return visit for us and we will be back again.
15/07/2019Louise
Amazing...peaceful.... Just what we needed
21/06/2019Lesley
Absolutely fabulous. Idyllic location, great facilities and superb staff.
14/06/2019shane
Stunning location and amazing lodge. Stayed with family and a dog for 4 nights.
10/06/2019Jane
We (3 adults, 2 dogs) thoroughy enjoyed our stay at The Lodge which more than lived up to the pictures and our expectations. It was the most peaceful, restful experience: no cars, no people, just us, nature and the Eamont River.
10/05/2019Lynn
Fantastic place to stay , this is the second time we have stayed there and it has been faultless both times
15/04/2019Jason
The photographs just don't do The Lodge and its location justice! Really very beautiful, tucked in next to the river, which gives a calming soundtrack to whatever you might be doing. Stunning views both up and down stream, with glimpses of the local wildlife. Two decent sized bedrooms, one a little smaller but good for kids. Big open space area with well-stocked kitchen, lounge and dining area, with a wood burner to keep toasty. Hot tub to soak away the day's adventures. A lovely verandah on which to sit and just listen to the water. Great location for Keswick, Penrith, Ullswater and north Lake District. My description is probably woefully inadequate so just go see!
08/04/2019Katie
We had a fantastic time. The Lodge was superb and the Edenhall staff could not have been more helpful. We will be back!
05/04/2019JAMES
our second visit to The Lodge - and it didn't disappoint. the atmosphere is so relaxing, the accommodation is spacious and welcoming. close enough to the North Lakes to walk or relax somewhere beautiful. you step out of the Lodge and you are in your own little peace of heaven, the only thing you can hear is birds and wildlife, otters, buzzards, red squirrels, deer to name a few. top it off with a hot tub overlooking the woods and river. 'Idyllic'
22/03/2019Duncan
We had a fantastic stay at the lodge. The setting is amazing and so away from it all. A truly magical place.
07/01/2019Richard
The lodge was a truly peaceful haven, even with a 1,3 and 6 year old and the dog! We left feeling completely relaxed and ready for real life.
04/01/2019Amy
Beautiful location hidden away within the estate. Fantastic building perfect for time with the family!
24/12/2018Sam
Blissful and fairytale like.
22/10/2018Christine
It was in a location akin to my paradise
08/10/2018Katherine
The lodge is stunning in a hidden part of the estate. It’s a beautiful location and the amenities were superb it was warm and cosy but big enough for the 6 of us . The hot tub was a added bonus and a dip under the stars was brilliant
05/10/2018Amanda
We had a wonderful break at Edenhall lodge. The location is literally breathtaking. The quality of the accommodation was also excellent. We particularly enjoyed long meals out on the veranda, whatever the weather. The hot tub was fabulous and cleaned throughly between guests .
10/08/2018Viv
We had the most wonderful time, the location of The Lodge was amazing, the most beautiful place we've ever stayed in! So tranquil, to be able to sit on the veranda & just listen to the river & the birds, and we enjoyed the view from the hot tub after a day out walking and exploring the Lakes. The Lodge was well equipped, had brilliant views, we can't praise it enough.
30/07/2018Julie
Amazing. Total relaxation loved everything about it.
25/05/2018Claire
The lodge was completely magical. The perfect location away from the rest of the world. It had everything that we needed and was very conveniently located for visiting the lakes. Absolute bliss, we will definitely be going back!
18/05/2018Molly
the pictures from the website do not do The Lodge justice - it is breathtakingly beautiful, idyllic and peaceful.
23/04/2018Duncan
Me and my family had an amazing time and couldn’t fault the facilities at the lodge We explored all the surrounding areas and the host was always there if we needed them Truly beautiful lodge and location
20/04/2018Becky
Wonderful time was had at Eden hall estate. Fully recommend for that perfect getaway! The pictures really don’t do this place justice! We could have listened to that flowing river for weeks on end in pure bliss and tranquility!!
30/03/2018Kevin
Perfect in every way, felt very special and different, far enough away from everything to relax but close enough to all amenities and tourist spots.
26/03/2018Collette
Wonderful place...must be as it was our second time. Convenient for the Lakes but wonderful to just unwind
19/03/2018Ian
Perfection on every level. Perfect lodge, perfect location, wonderful views, cozy and comfortable with everything that you need.
12/03/2018Ali
We had a great weekend! Very relaxing & the location was perfect. We’ve already booked to return in November!
26/01/2018Vicky
Absolutely amazing place, booked for 50th birthday treat, did not disappoint in any aspect, will be booking again, thanks!
04/12/2017Claire
The Lodge was everything we expected and more. The small details helped, we even had a packet of their own ground Coffee in the kitchen.
10/11/2017Martin
Nice weekend away, good walks and great place to relax after
06/10/2017Saskia
It was just perfect!! Total isolation in a fabulous setting but had all the comforts of a 4* hotel. We only wished we could have stayed longer.
15/09/2017Nick
A truly beautiful experience. Peace, tranquility, luxury and revitalising. Our pup Molly loved swimming in the river (not for the faint-hearted, she is a giant dog and a well-practised swimmer) and the adults loved the hot tub which comes with bats and stars at night. Stayed for 4 nights over the working week and loved every moment.
11/09/2017Jemma
Absolutely perfect! Beautiful setting, spacious, just lovely in every way.
25/08/2017Kirsty
The lodge was utterly beautiful. Breathtaking surroundings, idyllic in every way. First class accommodation. Extremely comfy beds, all the utensils and cooking equipment needed was provided. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the lake was so peaceful we didn't want to leave.
18/08/2017Grainne
Spent a lot of time sitting under the verandah appreciating the amazing location. We did venture out twice, to Derwentwater/Keswick and to the wonderfully named Potfest. Watched for wildlife, played games in the evening, enjoyed nice food and relaxed in the hot tub.
28/07/2017Michele
We came to the lodge for a weekend to kick-off the summer holidays. Our two kids decided on a 'treat' trip for their father and wanted somewhere different and memorable, which would appeal to his desire for calm relaxation in a beautiful location. We were delighted with the choice.
21/07/2017Claire
We stayed for 4 nights and loved every minute. The location is just magical and a great spot to relax and get back to wilderness. The lodge is very well equipped and luxuriously furnished. Great walking nearby and plenty to do and see. We are already looking to book our next trip. Swimming in the river and star gazing from the hot tub was very special. Teddy, our dog loved the location and learnt to swim in the river. A massive thank you to Nathan and the team for a very warm welcome and lots of help and advice.
03/07/2017Catherine
Simply perfect. Loved every blissful moment. The location was perfect, the lodge was so wonderful it was hard to leave. Amazing place would fully recommend.
05/06/2017Sarah
We stayed here with friends for my husbands surprise 40th celebrations. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Nathan, who was extremely helpful before and during our stay. We walked along the pathway (which lights up on the push of a button at night time-magical)!, through the forest down towards the cabin. Words cannot describe how breath-taking and serene the location is. Surrounded by the most amazing natural beauty. I was also very pleasantly surprised at how cool the interior was (it literally ticked every single box), perfectly equipped with surreal picture perfect views. Everything was absolutely perfect. Outside we used the barbecue and the hot tub topped everything off just nicely! We will definitely be back. Thankyou!
05/05/2017Lynn
Absolutely perfect in every way! It didn't feel real, it was all so picturesque. We felt like we were the only people in the whole world, it was the perfect escape from busy, hectic life. Definitely the most beautiful place we've ever stayed at, and we can't wait to come back!
24/04/2017Sophie
Amazing :) Well off the beaten track with stunning views. The Lodge was the most perfect place to stay and included quality kitchen utensils and even the things you usually have to buy like foil and clingfilm. Cooking there was a pleasure and the hot tub was fabulous overlooking the forest. A beautiful, serene place to stay with fabulous views all around.
17/04/2017EMMA
This was for our son's 3rd birthday. He loves the outdoors, whatever the weather, as well as exploring. We decided on 4 nights, as this was enough, without needing a washing machine, but long enough to feel relaxed and settled in new surroundings. We were able to do many favourite activities and walking, as well as having picnics for lunch, and cosy evening meals at the lodge.
13/03/2017Louise
We arrived in the dark and there is an illuminated button - pressed it and the pathway lights up through the woods. It was like something in a Wild West movie when you woke up and saw the location. No one else near, the sounds of the river and everything you could want inside.
30/12/2016Alison
The most amazing setting. It far exceeded expectation. Magical is the best word to describe it. The Lodge was fabulous inside and out and the bit of extra luxury with the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Also very helpful and friendly Lodge staff with pre-visit queries and on arrival.
19/12/2016Sam
Had a great long weekend. Just what we were all looking for! Climbed scafell pike and took many other walks in the nearby area
14/10/2016Crispin
We were kindly picked up by the Edenhall Team from Penrith (They were all so welcoming and helpful - throughout our stay). The lodge is in amazing location and really is a very interesting timber construction - beautiful craftsmanship. The interior is lovely and finished to an extremely high standard. I really loved the hamper with all its deliscious goodies and treats. We had such an amazing time, with lovely walks and saw fish, herons, a kingfisherand red squirels - The Children had so much fun - particularly in the HOT tub - so relaxing I really did not want to leave and hope we can return soon.
02/09/2016Rachel
The Lodge is a magical place to stay. Incredibly quiet, serene and private. Total relaxation in the midst of beautiful scenery. I can't wait to return.
26/08/2016Kelly
Fantastic relax in style! A mile away from camping but we really felt we'd enjoyed the countryside and peace and quiet.
15/07/2016Dee
What a beautiful place! We were there on our honeymoon, and it was so peaceful, quiet, and tranquil, it was the absolute perfect way to follow such a manic time as a wedding. We saw a kingfisher, a Heron, some kind of bird of prey, and possibly some reed warblers, an otter. We heard 2 different types of Owl, and got to see so many stars at night. Beautiful!
07/09/2015Joe
We had the most wonderful time. This is our second stay (dog, two children and two adults!) and the reason why we have come back is that it is simply magical. We do not need anything else in our stay other than just "being" at the lodge. Time together as a family with nature around us. We hardly ventured out; why would we when it is so beautiful at the Lodge?
03/08/2015marlies
My wife and I spent one of the most relaxing and enjoyable breaks we've ever experienced. The location of the lodge, together with the peace and tranquility of the surroundings made our stay perfect.
17/07/2015Neil
What a beautiful location and lodge! Quiet and peaceful with so much wildlife, what a treat to be surrounded by red squirrels and deer to name just a few! Comfortable and well lit, definitely coming back soon!
26/06/2015Hannah
A fantastic secluded and peaceful place, very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Sitting out on the verandah listening to the birds and river was balm to the soul. Although secluded, it was not far to Penrith for provisions, and there is of course great walking in the area and lots to do. We didn't want to leave.
15/06/2015Rose
Fantastic location, great accommodation and perfect solitude. We loved every minute and would certainly wish for a return visit.
12/06/2015Tony & Ann
Staying the The Lodge is a special experience. The Lodge itself is fantastic. We loved how it had been so carefully and well built and the simple, effective design. Inside, it's kitted out and furnished well and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. It's warm and cosy. The shower and loo are in a separate building adjacent to the back of the Lodge, but its not a problem and very well appointed. However, the best thing is the remote and tranquil location. It's two miles from Edenhall down single track lanes, then a short walk through a woodland path from the car parking space. In May this was full of bluebells - so beautiful. The river attracts lots of wildlife. In addition to the red squirrels, herons, buzzards and kites, we saw otters, kingfishers and a lovely hare. We also loved the bats who exited the roof of the Lodge every night and were just brilliant to watch. All this is entirely on the doorstep (well veranda) and completely separate from anyone else. It's a joy! The only minor point is that walking is actually quite limited, there's only one public path on the Estate.
18/05/2015Angela
There are no words for how amazing the lodge is, its one of those places that you don't fully appreciate until you get back to the rat race. Being somewhere where the only sound is the river and bird song is just magical. I took my boyfriend here for his 30th and we both feel in love with the place. The lodge at night is so cosy and then waking up to bats nesting in the roof and the red squirrel at the window is something you wouldn't get elsewhere. I would advise anyone who wants to get away from it all for a couple of days to book it.
15/05/2015Danielle
What a fabulous place The Lodge is. Right from the start when we meandered along the path through the woods and caught our first glimpse of The Lodge we knew is was going to be a magical stay. It is wonderfully appointed so that it feels like a home away from home but without the annoyances of modern life...no mobile signal, no wi-fi, no tv...bliss. Where it is situated is absolutely perfect, could barely keep the dog or one of our friends out of the river! The dawn chorus is a wonderful thing to wake up to and the fact that there is no other noise apart from the wildlife is fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend getting up for sunrise, which looks great along the river, and also if you get a clear night turn all the lights of and sit under the stars for a while. This place is the ultimate destresser for modern hectic lives.
24/04/2015Jane
We went to the lodge for my 30th birthday with my wife & two little jack russells in tow. The location was utterly perfect with arguably the best section of the river to admire and listen to as you drifted off to sleep or awoke in the morning. The dogs had life jackets and frequented the river several times a day, I got brave and jumped in myself (it was freezing!) but it was just something that you just had to do... although the wife didn't agree and stayed with her feet firmly on the shore! Our visitors around the lodge included an array of wildlife including red squirrels, pheasants, wild birds and moles (we saw their little hills at least!) and we would while away the hours sitting on the verandah with a glass of prosecco just taking it all in. At night we turned off the lights and admired the stars, with no other light pollution they were a sight to behold, if it was warmer we would have stayed out for most of the night but that no doubt is something to come back for in the Summer. We took long walks around the estate but for the most stayed at the lodge, it was just too idyllic too leave our little piece of paradise for too long.
20/03/2015Cheeta
"We really enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the convience to Penrith and Carlisle plus the Motorways. We had a really lovely time just chilling outside or inside when cold with the log fire on!"
04/07/2014Chris
"Fantastic! Location was magical. The only sounds were birds singing and the river flowing. Sat on the veranda watching the wildlife was stunning - the outside world didn't exist."
09/05/2014Sarah
"My stay was fantastic! The Lodge is beautiful and in the most magical of locations. The peace, tranquility and wildlife were a wonderful escape from the stresses and worries of everyday life. I rarely left to see Cumbria, I just wanted to stay absorbed in this amazing place! Mark and Bill were both fabulous too... so welcoming and helpful. I couldn't fault my break and was really sad to leave."
28/04/2014Helen
"Being without a mobile phone signal was great. The isolation, woods and river were excellent!"
17/02/2014Brian
"We loved it! The location and setting was perfect. The bathroom facilities were A LOT better than we expected and the shower pressure was almost better than home."
19/07/2013George
"Yes, it was amazing, exactly what we were after and would definitely want to return."
21/06/2013Amana
"Our stay was brilliant; from the location and design of the Lodge through to how well we were looked after and what a relaxing post-wedding environment it was. We have been reccommending it to anyone who will listen since we got back and definately plan on returning. Perfect for peace, quiet and relaxation. Couldn't fault a thing!"
01/04/2013Rachel
"We absolutely loved our time at the Lodge. One particularly good aspect was that we could stay Friday 'til Monday (not Sunday). It made for a much more relaxing trip. I can't think of any negative aspects to the weekend. Loved the verandah, the river, the wood-burning stove, the style of The Lodge, the surrounding woodland..."
08/11/2012Tabitha
"Loved it! The Lodge is beautiful, in a great location, with all the amenities you require. Cut off from the outside world (ie no internet, no mobile phone signal, no TV and no radio). It is a great place to get away from the rat race and focus on the natural beauty and wildlife that surrounds you."
28/05/2012Els
"Absolutely loved our stay, I cant express enough how beautiful the setting and lodge are! Fantastic to get away from madness of the world!"
25/05/2012Johanne
"Lived up to my expectations and much much more. The personal touches, lovely homeliness of the lodge, trickling water of the river, tranquility and all out gorgeousness of the place gave us both a weekend to remember. I will recommend the lodge to everyone."
15/07/2011Lucy
"We loved this place! Just to be completely secluded was something really special but to have the sound of the river, the beautiful scenery and the wildlife was amazing. The Lodge was so nice even the pictures don't prepare you for how good it is. Enjoyed our nights barbequeing and playing cards on the veranda - will definitely return"
03/06/2011Kimberley
"We went to The Lodge for our honeymoon, and loved it so much. There were so many best moments, from waking up in the attic bedroom and watching red squirrels from the bed, to dusk walks along the river and spotting a glimpse of otters. We enjoyed long lazy days sat on the veranda as the rain came down, we lit the stove at night and played scrabble in front of the fire."
23/05/2011Nick
It was even more amazing in real life. Beautiful setting and the lodge itself had everything we could possibly need. On the last night, my boyfriend proposed to me on the veranda, so now it's even more special to me!"

The most beautiful location, a true pocket of peace in a world that feels chaotic right now. We were sad to leave.

We absolutely lovely the lodge. It was so serene and hidden away from everything else. The hot tub was so wonderful and the log fire too. The lodge had everything we needed.

We had the most beautiful stay at the lodge. Everything was so easy and they had provided us with everything that we needed. The lodge itself is stunning and is in a beautiful location. Just pure relaxation from the moment you get there. This is a place that you could go and stay at all year round and it would never get old. We absolutely loved it.

05/12/2022Robyn
We had a very enjoyable 4 days at The Lodge - it was in the most fantastically secluded and beautiful area.
25/07/2022Nick
Great, incredible secluded setting. Cabin well provisioned and clean.

We had a wonderful weekend in the beautiful riverside setting.
13/08/2021Babs
