Overview
With its position in the north of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, you can explore miles of unspoilt open space from the door of this lovely roundhouse, but you’ll also do a bit of exploring through time. Anthony, the creator of the unusual space, has used original building techniques, handmade furniture and wooden crockery to give the feel of a real iron-age roundhouse and bring the area’s thousands of years of history back to life. A few touches have been added for style and comfort, although without compromising sustainability. The shower is solar powered and warmed by a paraffin burner, so don’t expect a steaming torrent, the wood burner indoors keeps you cosy and there are period lamps for lighting. Outside you’ll find a couple more of Anthony’s creations. There's the triangular Pit House, which is available for extra guests if you want to bring friends but is not let separately, so you'll have privacy if it's just the two of you. It shares cooking and bathroom facilities with the roundhouse, so you can all gather round the clay chiminea for some al fresco cooking, or make simple meals and quick cuppas on the gas hob. Of course, this being Cumbria, there are some cracking pubs around if you’d rather someone else did all the hard work, with the Fat Lamb a couple of miles away a local favourite.
If you fancy getting out and about, then you can take the local and rather special bus service. As well as being into ancient history, Anthony’s a fan of more modern relics and a collection of vintage buses run from the farm into Kendal, Penrith and over to Barnard Castle. You might hear work from the bus garage now and again from the roundhouse and meet guests of the farm’s small campsite on the buses. There really is no need to take any transport to see the area’s most spectacular sights though. You can hike for miles over the fells and take in the dramatic landscapes, then settle outside the roundhouse at night and watch the stars in the unspoilt night skies, as people here have done for millenia.

Meet Anthony
Anthony started with the idea to build a small roundhouse cabin due to his love of history and his inspiration by the beautiful simplicity of a round building. Making and designing a functional cabin was a challenge that Anthony could not resist. The idea of turning it into a business came later. The process was so rewarding that Anthony turned his hand to creating a new cabin and the Icelandic turf house joined the Bowber Head Roundhouse. Anthony has lived at Bowber Head on and off for 35 years so it has become part of his soul. In 1998, they started the vintage bus business as a family and Anthony is still a director. They do mostly weddings and private hires but there is regular bus services from Bowber Head to the local market towns, Kendal, Penrith, and Barnard Castle. Anthony's hobbies are classic cars, joinery and woodwork, and foreign travel. His wife is from Thailand so they visit there quite often.
Wildlife & environment
The property is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSi). The roundhouse is off-grid with solar power for the shower. The sloping field that the roundhouse is in has been a wild area for a lot of years, Anthony has planted many fruit trees and some ash, walnut and a yew tree which has become a friend. There are numerous birds such as woodpeckers, tits, starlings, thrush, owls, and bats as well as red squirrels living around the area.

What could turn rain and strong winds from a rotten summer’s day into a very special experience? This place. We heated up cowboy stew on the wood burner, we slept cosily and comfortably, waking only at 9 am, unheard of for us. We sat under the shelter with the chimenea, and eventually braved the elements to walk to the Fat Lamb, an excellent hostelry. On our first evening we had been luckier with the weather and dined on the picnic table. We enjoyed EVERYTHING, and have come away with a dozen reasons to go back! For more walking, more living outdoors, for star-gazing, cooking sausages on the fire pit, using our Chirpomatic app and birdwatching. Anthony’s craftsmanship has created an extraordinary space in a lovely setting, and we kept thinking how excited we would have been to come here as children. A true, timeless adventure. The attention to detail - authenticity, AND all a guest could possibility need - is stunning. The Visitors’ Book is predictably full of love and gratitude, and we added to it. Anthony and Pen are the best of hosts.

What a lovely weekend! Was greeted by Anthony who was so lovely and welcoming from the moment we pulled up. He showed us round our home for the weekend and we weren't disappointed! Every little detail had been thought out and made the whole experience very authentic! From the wooden crockery to the furry bed sheets it really was a magical place to stay.

Along with my 15-year-old foster lad and two chihuahuas, I enjoyed three fabulous nights, journeying back in time to to experience ancient living in the Iron Age roundhouse and Viking-age pit house (albeit with the advantage of 'hunter gathering' in the butchers and bakers of nearby Kirkby Stephen - we also treated ourselves to a local chippy tea and meal at the excellent Black Swan nearby). The views of the hills of grazing sheep were delightful. The area is a haven for birdwatchers, with a variety of species flitting through the trees. Ground-dwelling animals, such as rabbits, could often be seen darting about, adding a touch of liveliness to the peaceful setting (if you have dogs that are likely to chase, like we do, I'd advise taking a long tether so they can roam but not pose danger). The presence of red squirrels, a rarity in many parts of the UK, was a delightful bonus. We enjoyed a walk to Cautley Spout; exploring the remains of Brough Castle and a day out boating on Ullswater. Another great bonus was stopping and chatting to travellers on their way to Appleby House Fair - they proudly showed off their ornate bow top wagons.

Really enjoyed the Roundhouse, the care and attention to detail was brilliant and Anthony was helpful and enthusiastic about everything there was to explore in the area.

Amazing experience! Very unique and we loved it! Anthony was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved all the little handmade touches in the hut and outside. The surrounding countryside area is gorgeous too. We had such a peaceful and relaxing break here. Highly recommend.

Great stay nice to be away from everything. Plenty to do and host was friendly and accommodating.

The Roundhouse was everything I was looking for to escape the hustle and bustle and get back to nature and the basics. Perfect location for hiking or site seeing in the Yorkshire Dales. The hosts were fantastic, friendly and nothing was a problem. The weather was quite wild but just added to the atmosphere and even though we couldn't sit outside on a couple of days we easily we able to prepare food on the fire inside the Roundhouse. The stay was everything I could have wished for and more if your prepared to be off grid and return to nature and basic living, you ll love it. Our dogs loved it as well and were made very welcome with a dog bowl, treats and a towel.

We had an excellent experience at the roundhouse. We brought in the new year in a peaceful and relaxing place. We cooked lovely food on the wood stove. We shut off from the world and enjoyed all the little touches that makes the roundhouse so unique. The host is so helpful and friendly, made us feel really welcome. We would love to visit again in the future and experience it in the summer time. Everything was spot on. Thank you for having us.

Before we even arrived we were confident that we were going to be taken care of. Anthony has amazing communication skills! Once there, not only were we blown away by how it felt we'd time travelled :) but nothing was ever too much trouble for our hosts. Believe it or not, once the fire is on it's really toasty in the roundhouse. Even with the wind and rain we had an amazing time getting intouch with nature :)
15/12/2023Colette
Had a cracking time at the Roundhouse. It was the middle of December and therefore dark early in the evening/late afternoon so light was a bit of a limiting factor, but we just made sure we were doing things in the evening. Discovering the axe was a turning point for success with the woodburner and we did chicken out and use the caravan shower block rather than the paraffin heated authentic option, but it was all really well set out and built, a great experience.
09/12/2023Ed
It was lovely! Anthony was very nice and welcoming, the cabin was clean and once the fire was on it was very cosy indeed! There was a Birthday card and some chocolates for my partner too which was very thoughtful.
01/12/2023John
Fantastic stay at the roundhouse. Wet and cold weather but the hut was very snug and the wood burner kept us toasty.
17/11/2023Nial
Ene, Penny (the very long dog) and I had an absolutely wonderful stay in the Roundhouse; what a unique experience. The Roundhouse was extremely cosy, and even when -1, with the log burner going we barely felt a chill. The Roundhouse was well equipped for all of our needs. Anthony's attention to detail and obvious want to make it a lovely stay came across in abundance. We are very grateful for the hospitality and out snuggly weekend!
10/11/2023Rachael
Me and my dog Eddie stayed over a few days in the roundhouse in September, everything was perfect! The hut stayed lovely and warm with the log burner fire, which I also used to do all my cooking. It had everything you could need and more, no little detail was missed. The location was great and we found some fantastic hidden gems to explore. A really magical place to stay, you are truly transported back in time with how everything is hand made / carved, so much love and care has gone into the making of the whole place. The host Anthony is extremely friendly and helpful and is never too far away if you have any questions. Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!
12/09/2023Beth
We had the best time! It was relaxing and just the breath of fresh air (literally and figuratively) we needed! Thank you so, so much Anthony for sharing your wonderful talents and allowing us to experience the Roundhouse. We can't wait to return!

The Roundhouse is a fantastic place to get away and relax. It is very quirky and Anthony has done everything to make it thoroughly enjoyable, back to nature pleasurable experience.Great location to visit local towns/villages, lots of historical sites to visit. Will definitely be back, our 2 YorkiePoos loved it.
13/08/2023Jeanette
Amazing little hut, hidden away amongst the trees. Definitely a very different experience but one I'd recommend to everyone. Anthony thought of everything and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay!
09/08/2023Hannah
We booked this amazing place for my birthday celebration & we were not disappointed....it was just perfect.
10/07/2023Donna
What a unique stay! Anthony has given the roundhouse a lot of care and love, maintaining authenticity wherever practical. We would love to return.
07/07/2023Daniel
It was amazing! We arrived late of the Friday evening and nothing was too much trouble for our host, Anthony. He welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour of the property and how everything worked. The roundhouse exceeded our expectations in every way. Despite being ‘off grid’ it had everything you could need and all authentically reproduced for the period of the property. Anthony was so enthusiastic and passionate about the roundhouse and it was lovely to hear about how it came about. The location was idyllic and teeming with wildlife. It was so peaceful and tranquil and we loved every second.
26/05/2023Briony
Great host and super location with lovely views, hares and red squirrels. Very interesting and cosy structures to stay in. Ideal place to explore the Howgills.
23/04/2023Idris
I don’t know where to start. But we originally had camping booked in wales. But for one reason and another we decided to cancel. So I stumbled across Bowber on canopy and stars. A completely off grid set up. I left my phone and Apple Watch behind. Try it! The architecture of these buildings is mind blowing. So much attention to detail to make it feel so authentically on point to the period Anthony is capturing here. You have your own plot of land. With a small hill and small woodland to shield you from the farm & the other glamping set up. We didn’t use the pit house. But we used the shower (cold, very) every day. We cooked everyday and morning on the chiminea and wood burner. We used all the well stocked cooking pots and pans. In fact we used everything here! Very primitive mind. We slept well. The bed is comfy. The bedding is lovely and warm. The view are spectacular. The sounds of the curlews, owls and more were grounding and so lovely. Our host Anthony was a delight and friendly. And our dog loved the place. Think the place loved her too. Will we return? Yes! Already looking at dates for autumn.
16/04/2023Charlotte
Magical from arrival! Completely exceeded high expectations. Attention to detail was impeccable. The perfect place to reset. Anthony was so friendly and helpful. The best experience with my best friend and our dogs. Soul is nourished!
13/04/2023Rachelle
It was an exceptional experience, connecting with the nature and disconnecting from technology. Cooking in a fire pit, washing dishes in a bowl, showering in not so hot water, for sure not for everyone but worth trying and experiencing a simple life for a few days. You have all you need and the owner is very helpful. Even with a colder temperatures, you can keep the cabin warm with the 'fireplace'. Surrounded by sheep and green pastures, located close to lake district and Yorkshire dales - perfect place for a weekend gateway, taking a break from a daily struggles.
05/04/2023Julia
Myself and family members couldn’t rate the Bowber head roundhouse more highly. It was even better than we expected and Anthony was really helpful on arrival, showing us around the space and answering any questions we had. Anthony was available throughout our stay if needed. The Bowber head roundhouse space was secluded, so we really felt we could enjoy the place to ourselves. The swing provided lots of fun for our niece. As well as the Bowber head roundhouse facilities, we were also able to use the site toilets and showers which was great as an option. We were lucky to get a clear starry night on our stay and enjoyed the chiminea to keep us warm. Overall had a great experience and would recommend the accommodation to others.
03/04/2023Charlotte
We had a wonderful time at the roundhouse. Anthony was so warm and welcoming. There were so many stunning walks to choose from in the area and watching the wildlife go by from the comfort of this very well made Viking-style hut was one of the highlights of our trip. We arrived not knowing what to expect but left with a new found bird watching hobby, knowing we’ll definitely return!
24/03/2023Faye
I honestly don’t think I have the words to positively describe our stay at the Roundhouse! Anthony is an amazing host and all round nice guy who clearly loves everything to do with his place. The Roundhouse is amazing and the outdoor shower was surprisingly warm! We got lucky with the weather though. The views are crazy and there are some beautiful walks right on the doorstep. We will be back… probably more than once!
11/11/2022Carmel
An absolutely amazing place to stay and lovely scenic location. Anthony has done a fantastic job handcrafting everything down to the kitchen sink and is a brilliant host too. We had the most awesome time and will very much be staying again.
05/11/2022Nigel
Absolutely fantastic, built with love and care and attention. A great welcome from Anthony.
17/10/2022Gemma
Best holiday ever! Breathtaking location and so lovely to be able to use handmade objects. I'm in awe of Anthony's skills. He's an excellent host - just the right balance between helpful and non-interfering - with great local knowledge and recommendations for walks etc. I've never stayed anywhere that felt so much like 'time out' ('mod cons' such as phone charger, solar reading light, ice box and gas ring are cunningly hidden by handcarved wooden artefacts, so you can live the Viking dream in comfort!). The wildlife is amazing - where else could you lie on the bed reading and watch a woodpecker feeding from about 4 meters away? I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants a real escape, who appreciates craftsmanship and who wants to come away feeling that there's hope for the world after all. My Border collie cross loved it all too, and was made very welcome.
22/08/2022Amanda
This was the most wonderful getaway. From the moment we arrived Anthony was so friendly and he really impressed us with his enthusiasm and genuine love of making the roundhouse a wonderful experience for his guests. I'd mentioned on my booking that it was our wedding anniversary and waiting for us in the lodging was a card and some chocolates, it just made it that little bit extra special. The roundhouse is such a beautiful little place with so many small details that made it different like the wooden plates and bowls and the iron cutlery. We didn't use the indoor log burner (as we visited during a heatwave!) I'm sure it would have kept it snug whatever time of year you visit, we just used the small gas ring to make cups of tea. The outside area with the chiminea kept us warm sat out in the evening until it was time to sleep in the very comfy bed. The next day we got chatting to Anthony again in the morning, we mentioned we wanted to get in the water and he recommended a fantastic walk to a waterfall pool that we had to ourselves all day. Just the most perfect weekend.
12/08/2022Lorraine
Our stay was amazing. Anthony has built an amazing set up and thought of everything. We had the best time. The views, the bed, the chimnea, all the hand made Iron Age replicas including the oil lamps and, of course, the outside shower. We didn’t want to leave
15/07/2022Stephen
The stay was amazing and the experience was one I would never forget it was brilliant. To live without luxuries is something to appreciate as this stay was around Viking times. The Round House was equipped with hand made plates dishes cups and spoons. Oil lamps for lighting which was always filled up ready to use. The sceneries where brilliant and the wild life amazing. It was well organised and well hosted.
08/07/2022Annette
What can I say… this place is AMAZING! The roundhouse has been lovingly handmade by the host and the attention to detail is incredible - from the hand carved wooden spoons and plates to the lovingly restored oil lamps. Even though this roundhouse is off grid - there’s fresh water provided, an ice box which has fresh ice packs in daily so you can keep your wine and milk cool. There’s also a usb charging point so you can still make your friends by having charge to send lots of pictures Outside there is an undercover area with food fire and comfy seating, with a view across fields and to the surrounding hills. The extra little touches - like the soggy tapas treats, fresh water and Cumbrian chocolates were very much appreciated. This is a very special place and well worth a visit. We stayed for 2 nights but would happily stay longer and didn’t want to leave. There’s 3 pubs within walking distance - all were lovely and had very friendly staff. I really could not highlight any bad points of room for improvement… everything was perfect and spotlessly clean.
20/06/2022Sarah
It was fantastic! The attention to detail was great and the host was so welcoming.
17/06/2022Faye
Wow just wow Totally awesome, everything that could possibly be thought of was. And a fantastic host too could not of been more helpful
06/06/2022Peter
We had the most magical time, I especially enjoyed the solar shower and getting to watch the sunset from the shower! Everything was so well made and the attention to detail was gorgeous.
02/06/2022Juliet
Where can I start! What a unique experience, the site is perfectly laid out, attention to detail here is spot on. The roundhouse itself is cosy, well set out and totally period! It’s warm and inviting, then opens out to the fire pit/cooking area, again, nothing more than you need but lacking nothing. The toilet and shower area is probably the most modern area although it feels completely at home in the setting. There is additional accommodation that is a sunken peasant hut(don’t be deceived, it’s as higher quality as the other buildings) with log fired heating. If you’re after room service and all inclusive options, this isn’t for you…. But! If you’re after a chance to step back in time and live as Vikings did! This is the only option you could possibly want!! Our weekend stay has set the whole world right again in our hearts! Truly a magnificent experience. We had a magic time at Bowber Head roundhouse. It was so peaceful and the wildlife spotting didn’t disappoint! Our host Anthony had thought of everything to make us comfortable, and we were kept cosy warm at night with our wood burning stoves. The views are stunning and it was an absolute delight to wake up to it each morning.

We stayed for two nights at the Roundhouse and it was the most magical, unique and wonderful stay we have ever had! What has been created here is nothing short of perfect. The attention to detail and supremely high level of handcrafted everything is astonishing! It was the perfect place to get back to basics, unwind and relax…and live like a Viking! We enjoyed a beautiful walk, cooking on the fire with the Dutch oven, and having the best shower in the world!! We sat for hours watching the wildlife all around us and in the fields opposite and we’re so happy just being in nature and living in the most wonderful accommodation.

Really welcoming host who explained how to use everything, gorgeous setting and easy to just walk straight out and onto the fell, well equipped and everything perfect to set the scene for an off grid couple of nights. We took our dog with us and were so pleased our host did not have any strict rules regarding the dog roaming around, she had a great time and we could totally relax knowing she wasn’t going to get into mischief. Compost loo 10/10, really nice set up in there. Shower - good fun but chilly and we ran out of water but could’ve used the other showers on-site if that’s not your thing but we loved it. Bed - comfy Roundhouse - small but perfectly formed with so much attention to detail, loved that nearly everything was wooden. Outdoor area - so nice but it was a bit rainy for us to sit out so we didn’t use it that much unfortunately.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Bowber Head Roundhouse. We arrived just before last light in December and it was magical to be welcomed with fairy lights in the trees. Anthony was a great host and explained how everything works and was never far away if we needed anything. We went on some lovely walks, both immediately from the Roundhouse and also some just a short drive away. You can feel the love that has been put into creation of the Roundhouse, everything is carved beautifully and fits perfectly. The stay is a perfect mix of off-grid with just enough luxuries to see you through. The shower was a fun experience and even the compost toilet has made me want to get one! The place is amazing, you are completely by yourself. The fact it is dog friendly is also wonderful as it meant we could bring our 6 month old german shepherd puppy who had a fantastic time. Even in the middle of December the log burner kept us toasty warm and we enjoyed cooking using its heat. We definitely want to return in the summer months to enjoy a nice cider and cooking on the chiminea as the sun sets! So glad we found Bowber Head Roundhouse for a magical stay.

What an amazing place to stay. Very much back to basics but has everything you need. Perfect location. Great pubs nearby and lovely places to explore. Anthony and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay if you’d like to try staying somewhere a little different.
03/09/2021Katie
Amazing stay at an amazing place. Beautifully created by Anthony who took the time to walk us through everything. He took great pride in showing us his craftsmanship and rightfully so.
19/08/2021Dan
We had an amazing stay, the accommodation was really well thought out (including a dining area, kitchen, and wood burner) and our host Anthony was really nice. The area was secluded and peaceful, and we saw a red squirrel.
18/06/2021Jack
Such a lovely few days in the roundhouse - Anthony has thought of every detail and it really shows. Beautifully crafted space with friendly hosts and gorgeous views - perfect! Enjoyed long walks, lunch at the local pub, topped off by evenings cooking by the fire
31/05/2021Natalie
We completely loved our stay. We felt really inspired by Anthony - not just by his beautiful creations but his whole approach to life! What an extraordinary world he has created in his field, and what a generous spirit he has. He picked us up and dropped us off as we needed (our car had broken down on the day we were meant to be coming) and dreamt up a spectacular walk for us on the Saturday. We felt energised and rested and looked after throughout the weekend, and will definitely be recommending to friends.
28/05/2021Hannah
This was a brilliant stay. Anthony has thought of every minor detail when designing and building the hut and all its facilities. We loved the rustic feel and would definitely go back again.
22/05/2021Andrew
The roundhouse was the perfect tonic following a very long year of pandemic lockdowns. Ant has thought of everything to make our stay back to basics while still offering modern essentials. There is plenty of privacy and the staff were very nice and helpful. The location is ideal to explore the local places (e.g. Kirkby Stephen and Sedbergh) and you can start your hikes right from the doorstep. We would definitely recommend this place and are hoping to go back to soon.
14/05/2021Sabrina
Such a lovely stay. Great hosts, beautiful setting and just the perfect place to switch off from the outside world!
19/04/2021Mya
the roundhouse was beautifully constructed. it was welcoming, cosy and authentic. the passion with which it was built, along with all the facilities (down to the crafted cutlery!) was clear. Anthony was friendly and helpful and gave us some brilliant ideas of activities to do during our stay and was happy to help with any request
16/04/2021daniel
Our stay in the roundhouse was absolutely amazing. The log burner kicked out some lovely heat and we were not once cold throughout the entire trip despite manic winds and it being the middle of December. The hosts were lovely - so interesting to talk to Anthony about his initial idea of the build and also the build process. So much wildlife and fun walks to do near to the location our black Labrador loved it! Such a fun, exciting and unique experience. Will definitely be returning as soon as we can!
17/12/2020Natasha
We had the most wonderful weekend away in this fantastic rustic retreat. The communication and help from the hosts was excellent before we’d even arrived! The roundhouse was even more lovely than we expected, with everything you need for an off-grid adventure.
30/10/2020Katie
We had a lovely stay in the roundhouse. Really peaceful and very cosy with the fire on. Anthony was so helpful and there were a few great pubs close by.
22/10/2020Katie
This was one of the most interesting and unique places we have ever stayed. We use canopy and stars a lot but this little place was something very different! Taking you right back to basics to see how people used to live but still so cosy and comfortable. Our hosts were so lovely and the surrounding countryside and wildlife made our stay even more special
13/10/2020Rachel
Had the best time at Andrews hut. It was lovely to get away from it all and properly go back to basics. Cannot reccomend highly enough. He was a really great host who made us very welcome and provided great advice on walks etc.
06/10/2020Rachael
Wow! What a special and memorable place to stay. i love handmade craft and for someone to have a vision and create it, which is exactly what Anthony has done. It was great to talk to him and hear about his passions. We loved being close to nature. The cosy roundhouse with the fire and looking out to see birds on the nearby tree and even a hedgehog at night. Watching the stars at night was magical.
13/09/2020Karen
Lovely stay, the roundhouse was warm, comfortable, clean and cosy. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming. I can't wait to go back and stay again
03/09/2020Erin
We loved staying in the Bowber Head Roundhouse- it was very different from shepherds huts or gypsy caravans! All the decoration and equipment is in character as far as it can be- it took me a while to find the washing up bowl! Anthony , the host, is enthusiastic and friendly. We loved that we could bring our camper van so our adult children could stay as well. It is a beautiful part of the country and you can walk from the front door. There are also 3 good pubs in walking distance. I liked it so much I booked it for my brother for his birthday!

We had the best time at the roundhouse this week. Anthony has created a perfect little escape from the world, with everything you need while still being a back-to-basics experience. The roundhouse and area was kitted out with lots of little touches like a helmet and drinking horns, and the area was well maintained. I was very surprised how great the shower was- not like my previous experiences with outside showers! The stove was really good, worked well and warmed up the hut nicely. We loved it here so much, and will definitely be back!

18/03/2024Tom

The hosts Anthony and pensri are warm and inviting, infact so much so we have booked for a second weekend break, nothing was too much trouble and we felt completely at home. Overall, if you want a wild camp feel, in a period setting, then this is the place for you. Yep can honestly say, don’t scroll past this one. Book now

06/05/2022Kelly
13/04/2022Duncan

Amazing stay at an amazing place. Beautifully created by Anthony who took the time to walk us through everything. He took great pride in showing us his craftsmanship and rightfully so.

We had an amazing stay, the accommodation was really well thought out (including a dining area, kitchen, and wood burner) and our host Anthony was really nice. The area was secluded and peaceful, and we saw a red squirrel.

Such a lovely few days in the roundhouse - Anthony has thought of every detail and it really shows. Beautifully crafted space with friendly hosts and gorgeous views - perfect! Enjoyed long walks, lunch at the local pub, topped off by evenings cooking by the fire

This was a brilliant stay. Anthony has thought of every minor detail when designing and building the hut and all its facilities. We loved the rustic feel and would definitely go back again.

Such a lovely stay. Great hosts, beautiful setting and just the perfect place to switch off from the outside world!

the roundhouse was beautifully constructed. it was welcoming, cosy and authentic. the passion with which it was built, along with all the facilities (down to the crafted cutlery!) was clear. Anthony was friendly and helpful and gave us some brilliant ideas of activities to do during our stay and was happy to help with any request

We had the most wonderful weekend away in this fantastic rustic retreat. The communication and help from the hosts was excellent before we’d even arrived! The roundhouse was even more lovely than we expected, with everything you need for an off-grid adventure.

We had a lovely stay in the roundhouse. Really peaceful and very cosy with the fire on. Anthony was so helpful and there were a few great pubs close by.

Had the best time at Andrews hut. It was lovely to get away from it all and properly go back to basics. Cannot reccomend highly enough. He was a really great host who made us very welcome and provided great advice on walks etc.
