Overview
Up the hill from the village, behind Sean & Alex's landmark house (you won’t miss the white crenellations) and across the walled garden, you’ll find your snug, seaside hideaway. An unassuming white shack on the outside, the compact interior has been given a full, contemporary makeover and plenty of little luxuries. There’s a romantic wood burner for the cooler evenings as well as electric radiators throughout, and a mini kitchen with oak breakfast bar and views of the bay. The bathroom has a beautiful double-ended bath and a nautical porthole window that reminds you of your coastal surroundings, although with the faint sound of the waves lapping below as you drift off, you probably won’t have forgotten.
French doors open onto the lawn, and if you go for a little wander you’ll find the secret garden overlooking the cove below. From here you can see all the way to St Michaels’ Mount on a clear day! There's even a rumoured smugglers' tunnel up from the cove... all you need is a dog called Timmy, a mystery to solve and lashings of ginger beer. For more sea and golden sand, Halzephron is a perfect launch pad for miles of secluded beaches and a selection of local fishing villages that offer delicious, fresh seafood.

Meet Sean & Alex
Sean and Alex took over as the owners of Halzephron House in 2020. They are passionate about the Cornish coast, and love sharing it with their guests.
Wildlife & Environment
Right on the Cornish Coastal path, choughs, ravens, peregrine falcons, kestrels and buzzards have all been seen here. The coastal wildflower meadows are home to butterflies, bees and grasshoppers. From your ‘secret garden’ hidden on the cliff, you can look down over Halzephron Cove - if you’re lucky you might spot the resident seal, and even dolphins on a calm day. Be warned though - it’s a definite climb down to the Cove below, not a walk. Halzephron’s four acres are bordered by SSSI cliffs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the National Trust for neighbours.
All three spaces at Halzephron House are powered by solar panels, meaning the energy used will be almost completely generated on site.

Absolutely gorgeous little cabin in a stunning location. Fully enclosed garden which was perfect for our dogs . The cabin is extremely comfortable with everything you could need for a super relaxing stay. Being able to join the coast path just outside the back gate is incredible - we don’t want to leave. There’s a pub serving good pub food just a few minutes walk down the lane . The walk to nearby Porthleven is only an easy hour and truly beautiful. We have already booked to return and cannot wait .

My wife and I spent 3 nights at The Cabin for her birthday. She's 27 weeks pregnant and it was the perfect cosy and comfortable winter staycation for our needs. The bath is massive and easily fits two people after a cold dip, before migrating to the couch to relax in front of the woodburner. We brought our dog along and the convenience of the flat and enclosed garden was really handy, and she loved lying in front of the fire after long walks and ball chases on the beach. There are so many comforts that make The Cabin different: homemade granola and fresh milk, unlimited firewood, coast path location, proximity to exceptional restaurants in Porthleven...the list goes on. All three of us were sad to leave and would recommend it to anyone looking to escape and restore.

The cabin was very cosy, quiet and secluded. Bath was amazing and the processco was a lovely touch. It was well equipped and we enjoy a lovely walk down to the beach and to the Halzephron Inn, food was amazing. We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon in Truro, walking round the Christmas market, stopped for lunch at Ask Italian, food was amazing. We enjoyed beer tasting at Red Elephant Beer Cellar.

I stayed alone at the cabin right in the midst of Storm Ciaran so it was both an exhilarating and slightly stressful stay. Luckily there were only smashed windows on another part of the building and the locks on wooden doors had been ripped off of some of the sheds. The cabin itself luckily remained intact. As did my little car, I managed to position it so bins and large stones didn’t hit it. The cabin itself was delightfully cosy with a fire and a lovely bathtub so I had an enjoyable stay, despite the storm. I was alone on the property during the storm but figured I could run down to the pub if I got into trouble. I also managed to visit Lizard Point, Falmouth, and Porteleven before things got too choppy. That was great, as the coast really is beautiful. All in all, it was a good little adventure and I’ll definitely be back to explore more when the weather is milder.

It was just gorgeous. Sumptuous bed..cosy, immaculate, attention to detail ie flower and sprig of rosemary by the bed. We had everything we needed including blanket and a ball for our dog Stanley. Kitchen ingeniously compact and brilliantly equipped.. the cabin had everything we needed we felt like we were on honeymoon . Luxury big beautiful bath... thank you so much

Fantastic stay ! Incredible location right on the coastal path & close to an amazing beach for dog walking. Wonderful garden too.

We stayed at the Cabin at Halzephron House in Cornwall from the 18th- 25th August 23. We had the most wonderful relaxing stay. There are lots of wonderful touches that made our stay special like the lovely handpicked wild flowers in little vases, the grapes from the owners own vines, delicious homemade granola, the milk in a lovely little bottle, the bottle of chilled Prosecco which we drank from two beautiful painted glasses looking out of the extraordinary secret window which peeps out through the shrubbery hiding the wall onto the South West coastal path - with enticing glimpses of sea and cliff. it has a huge two person sized bath and a perfect sheltered garden which was safe for our dog to run free in. The position of the property is wonderful too and our daily dog walk was to Gunwalloah fishing cove which was huge and often very empty. The Gunwalloah inn was also fabulous and staggering distance from the cabin. You couldn’t ask for more..
23/08/2023Shona
Absolutely loved our stay, couldn’t have asked for a more well equipped, comfortable place to relax for a couple of nights. The little generous touches such as plenty of wood for the log burner and fire pit, coal for the barbecue, milk and Prosecco in the fridge etc etc made us feel so welcome and looked after.
16/08/2023Julia
Lovely short three night stay. Everything was wonderful, with some welcoming treats in the fridge and home-made granola for breakfast. The hosts brought over a cream tea in the afternoon too, which was lovely. Great location with walks and big surf on the beaches. Excellent hosts: welcoming but also left us to it all. Would certainly go back.
28/07/2023Alistair
The location was perfect and we really liked that the owners just left us to it.
22/05/2023Amy
We had a great week-end (my partner, our dog and I). Great walks along the sea, on top of cliffs and on the beaches. The Cabine is small, but has everything needed, neat and clean, comfortable, very private. Owners left for us fresh milk and home made granola.
05/05/2023Ruti
Great location lovely warm clean cabin by the beach
24/04/2023Katherine
What a fabulous location with lovely garden space and the cabin it self was amazing. Situated overlooking a blustery bay watching an angry sea was out of this world. Amazingly it did not disturb our sleep the cabin was very quiet and peaceful
07/11/2022Michael
Lovely long weekend on the Lizard cliffs. The cabin had everything we needed and was a perfect bolthole for us and our dog. We could walk right out onto the coastal path and down into some beautiful coves and beaches, walk to the local pub for some brilliant food and buzzing atmosphere, and easy drive to Porthleven for a foodie paradise.
24/06/2022Zoe
Lovely hosts, and a sweet little cabin with all the essentials. Incredible views and the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away.
13/05/2022Claudia
The cabin had all I needed to enjoy it’s beautiful setting, whatever the weather. I was able to relax in sheltered sun, or warm up by the fire pit after getting cold in the sea on a grey day. It had a perfect combination of stylish, comfortable, compact indoor space opening directly into a much larger walled and daisy dotted garden. Just a few steps from the cliff edge, a few more from the beach or splendid local pub, or a little hike from Poerthleven or Helston … I loved being able to slow down & live simply & quietly in such a beautiful place.
02/05/2022Judy
The Cabin was located in a fantastic place with just a 1 minute walk to the cliff path , the garden was fully enclosed which our black lab loved and provided us with the security that he would be safe. The cabin although compact was very cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. Cabin comes with a log burner with logs supplied which was very nice. Complimentary cider on arrival was also very much appreciated. There was an unavoidable problem with the Wi-Fi but the owners kept us updated and offered alternative solutions
29/04/2022Mark
Our stay was fabulous. Perfect location, clean and tidy. Perfect for us as a two.
25/04/2022Lorna
Four days of perfect weather exploring the beautiful beaches and coast path around Helston
21/03/2022Sarah
The Cabin was a lovely cosy bolt hole on the Cornish coast. The walled garden was great for other furry family member. Sean and Alex were warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.
14/02/2022Andrew
Perfect week in a beautiful location.
31/01/2022Lucy
We had a lovely stay at the cabin, it’s was very peaceful and in such a great location. It was so. Ice to not only find somewhere that we could take the dog with us but also have an enclosed garden where we didn’t have to keep an eye on her all the time.
12/11/2021Carrie
We stayed Monday to Friday in this compact but very cute cabin. Lovely location with the costal path just a few steps away and the local pub a 5 minute walk. The cabin has a great enclosed garden for letting the dog out in, and a lovely fire for warming up by after a day out exploring. A great location with easy access to local beaches plus an easy drive to Falmouth & St Ives.
11/10/2021Megan
Nice to get away at last, lovely little cabin
01/10/2021Alli
It was a beautiful location and one we hadn’t been to before in Cornwall. We loved the big walled garden and the bathtub. But we were out exploring most of the time
20/09/2021Yasmin
The Cabin was a perfect place for the two of us and the dog to have a peaceful break from busy work schedules. Although fairly compact, there is everything you need and all beautifully furnished. Really comfortable bed and large bath - lush! We had lovely September weather but almost wanted it a bit colder and the cabin was a great peaceful and private place to focus, with good wifi. Huge and secure garden to open out for the dog to romp around in plus to easy to access the huge dog-friendly beach down the hill! Lots of places to explore nearby and the lovely Inn down the road within stumbling distance. Would highly recommend this property and look forward to coming back someday soon!
13/09/2021Joanna
Had a great time, The Cabin is in a wonderful spot for walking the South west path. Very comfortable and all that we needed
25/06/2021Joanna
Wonderful stay - we really enjoyed the comfortable cabin in such a fantastic location. Although the location was high on a windswept clifftop with thrilling views, the cabin was warm and cosy. The property was walking distance from a lovely pub/restaurant, and was located on the South West Coastal Path allowing access to walking routes in both directions along the coast. The hosts were very helpful. The property had off-road car parking available.
17/05/2021Jack
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful spot. Perfect for couples, families and singletons
23/04/2021Christine
We had a very memorable trip at Halzephron Cabin. It is a wonderful and special place to be. The cabin was perfect. We spent most of our days exploring the surrounding area and spent the evenings at the Halzephron Inn (just down the road) and then back at the Cabin to enjoy the woodburner.
19/04/2021Pip
Lovely stay, perfect location!
16/04/2021Katherine
The cabin was so cosy and a perfect getaway, just what my partner and I needed! It’s not that far from Falmouth or St Ives either so we managed to have a few day trips and explore Cornwall. The cabin is right near the beach so we went on many windy autumnal walks. We lit the fire when we got back and drank mulled wine! It was perfect.
30/10/2020Chloe
We had a lovely time cabin was very comfortable and the location was stunning!
18/09/2020Rosalind
We had a delightful stay. The place was sparkling clean with a welcoming bottle of prosecco. The cabin was beautiful with lovely touches such as the comfy leather sofa, big bed and log burner plus a bunch of wild flowers to welcome us. The bathroom was amazing and the bath could comfortably fit 2 of us. The private walled garden was a massive plus for us and our dog, who was able to roam around freely. We were right on the coast with views to the sea from the breakfast bar. The area is so beautiful and we went for daily amazing walks whatever the weather. The local pub was excellent with real ales and lots of local produce. Would really recommend a stay here or at another of Halzephron properties which all have their views of the sea and private gardens. It was so relaxing and just what we needed to unwind and de-stress. Thank you Lucy.
28/08/2020Sally
We loved our stay at Halzelphron Cabin, it was cosy in the storms with the wood burning fire, and we enjoyed relaxing in the evening after a blowy walk along the coast with the luxurious bath and everything you needed.the location was just fantastic with views of the waves from the cabin a secret garden on the cliffs
21/02/2020Imogen
Halzephron Cabin was the perfect short break for two! Despite the turbulent weather we felt the location was perfect for all occasions, whether that be staying in with the log burner and a glass of wine or venturing into the local towns. We were welcomed and shown around the cabin which we felt was EVEN BETTER than on the pictures! Supplied with all we needed for our stay including log for the fire, towels for the bath and a complimentary bottle of fizz, we couldn't ask for more.
16/12/2019Natasha
We couldn't have loved it more than we did! The atmosphere, the cozy house, I never wanted to leave.
11/10/2019Skyler
My girlfriend and I had a great stay at Halzephron Cabin! Lucy was really welcoming and the cabin was really cosy with an easy-to-light log burner, really comfortable bed, and great bath! We spent most of our time surfing at the cove over which was great fun. The local area is great for walks too and we had a couple of really nice meals at the restaurants Lucy recommended. Thanks!
23/08/2019Silas
We had a lovely few days staying in the cabin that had everything we required and was perfect for our dog with a good sized secure garden. A great location right on the cliff path for great walking and the bonus of a good pub that was dog friendly only a short walk away. We hardly used the car as it was good walking weather.
19/08/2019ian
Perfect week. Quiet, relaxed and a beautiful location for us and our dog. Would recommend this Cabin to anyone who wants to get away from the usual busy beaches and just kick back.
02/08/2019Philip
Really relaxing stay at Halzephron Cabin. Lovely welcome with cake and little bottle of prosecco too! The secret garden is the perfect sun trap, and the coastal path walks are beautiful; really enjoyed the walk over to Porthleven for some fish & chips! Highly recommend a stay here.
07/06/2019Abigail
We had an amazing weekend at Halzephron Cabin. It's in the most beautiful area of Cornwall, right on the coastal path with stunning sea views all around. It feels remote, but is a five-minute walk from the friendliest pub (with lots of cute dogs, FYI) and close to the charming wee town of Porthleven with its array of brilliant restaurants and the best pasty shops. The cabin itself is cosy, clean and lovely. Peek out the kitchen window and you'll see the ocean. We had everything we needed and more – the homemade cake and prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch. During the day we loved exploring the local area and walking the coastal path, and in the evenings we drank wine in the huge private garden or toasted marshmallows on the fire pit. On a sunny day, make sure you take some blankets and soak up some rays on the cliffside amphitheatre!

Halzephron cabin is the most perfect little hideaway you could ever want. Tucked away in its own private garden with the coastal path right outside the door you can be as lazy or as active as you want. You can snuggle up in front of the log burner and take long soaks in the huge bath or you can explore the secret garden and cliff top amphitheatre on the property and then venture onto the coastal path outside the door for as long as you want. With a choice of three beaches within a 10-15 minute walk (two you can take dogs to all year round, two are good for swimming and there’s a surf school & cafe at one). The local pub at the end of the lane is cosy and friendly and does delicious cream teas (apparently also very good pub food but we didn’t try that) and Porthleven is a 15minute drive with a host of lovely restaurants. The cabin has everything that you might want including fresh cake and Prosecco when you arrive, we really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay!

Amazing, perfect location, perfect accommodation, lovely host and everything we needed for a relaxing stay
22/04/2019Amy
Lovely break in a small but perfectly formed cabin on a cliff.
11/02/2019Ben
We had the most relaxing stay at the cabin, it was amazing! From the moment we arrived (and were blown away by the stunning view from the car park!), we fell in love with the little cabin and its location. The cabin itself is extremely cosy with a lovely woodburner and nice, deep bath - perfect for warming up after a brisk walk along the coastal path. The view from the window in front of the breakfast bar is stunning, it's easy to while away some time while daydreaming over your morning coffee! Lucy was great, she contacted me before the stay to offer some restaurant recommendations and to see if we had any specific requirements. As it was my boyfriend's 40th, I requested a bottle of prosecco for when we arrived, but Lucy went one better and provided, not only the prosecco (suitably chilled in the fridge), but also some homemade brownies with a candle and special welcome note. The location of the cabin is excellent, really close to the sea, lots of great walks around, a pub 5 minutes walk away and easy access to lots of local attractions. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely be keen to go back.
01/02/2019Amy
We Absolutely loved our stay at Halzephron Cabin. It was peaceful and cosy and had everything we needed. Perfectly situated right on the coast path, it is an ideal spot to explore this stunning part of Cornwall.
09/11/2018Sophie
The perfect Winter retreat! It's so rare you get to stay quite so close to the ocean, with the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs. The cabin was a cosy haven after long wild windy walks along the coastal path, we even spotted seals at Lizard Point! Pull on your boots and head to the coastal path which skirts right around the bottom of the garden. Id' recommend the walk to Porthleven - soak up fishing port life and eat a proper Conrnish pasty or opt for fine dining at Kota, which was delicious and worth every penny. But if you don't fancy going so far, the Halzpehron Inn, just 5 minutes walk down the hill serves really great pub grub! The Seafood Chowder was amazing!
02/11/2018Tessa
We had a lovely long weekend at Halzephrone Cabin.. beautiful spot with amazing coastal paths and top quality restaurants and a local pub nearby. The cabin was absolutely perfect!
19/10/2018Zoe
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cabin despite the weather.
17/09/2018Phil
Had a lovely stay at the cabin, it was very comfortable with everything you could need and you could not ask for a better location for the coastal walks.
14/09/2018Catherine
We were given a warm friendly welcome when we arrived, and had been left some home made cookies and a bottle of Prosecco a lovely touch to get the holiday started. We went for many walks along the beach, the dog enjoyed exploring the many different places. The local pub was warm and friendly, and made us and the dog feel very welcome. The cabin was located in an idyllic surrounding, feeling like your own little paradise. We spent the nights relaxing by the fire pit underneath the star lit sky, when it became too cold, we simply moved in doors to a nice cosy log burning fire. The bath was luxurious after a cold and windy day. We are all very well rested after our stay by the gentle ripples of the sea. Would truly recommend to any one who wants to get away from the day to day bustle of life.
10/09/2018Emma
The Cabin suits our needs perfectly . It was right in on the SW Coastal path which meant we could walk without driving. We receicved a warm welcome from the hosts and the prosecco and cake was much appreciated. Although not being g, The Cabin was perfect for a couple and the bath was amazing especially after a long Coastal walk . There are plenty of good places to eat close by and we visited The Halzephron Inn, Rick Steins , Poldhu Cove Cafe, Kynance Cove Cafe and enjoyed them all . We also enjoyed the private garden at The Cabin on the return from our walks to sit with a drink and read the papers. A great weekend, thank you !

06/07/2018Jill
Was a fabulous place with great views of the sea and coast The cabin was very comfortable especially having the log fire. Prosecco and home made cookies were provided which was a lovely touch. Very near to fabulous places to visit. Even the local pub was just a walk away with great food.

An ideal base for a midweek break in a stunning location. Comfortable & well-equipped accommodation. Welcoming hosts.
19/03/2018Margaret
We had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful Cornwall coastline and staying in a very snug, cosy and beautifully fitted cabin.
09/03/2018Aisha
Due to the awful weather we arrived a day late and stayed six nights instead of seven. The cabin was lovely;warm, cosy and had everything we needed.
02/03/2018Kerry
Perfect. Good location to all local walking spots. Beautiful beaches. Dog loved it. Each evening spent at the local Halzephron Inn where the staff are super friendly and love dogs.
27/11/2017Tamsin
We booked a 'minimoon' to Halzephron cabin for myself, my husband and our Cavalier King Charles for three nights at the beginning of November. We absolutely LOVED our stay and have already looked to rebook (sadly booked the dates we wanted!). Everything from the log fire, the bath, the secret garden, the views, the sunsets, the prosecco and cake on arrival, the comfortable furnishings (slept better than we have in weeks!) I couldn't recommend it more.
03/11/2017Emma
Beautiful views, great cabin with everything you need
20/10/2017Sophie
The dog and I both had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Loved the location, peace and simple luxury. We were made welcome and enjoyed the non intrusive hospitality.
08/09/2017Sarah
Enjoyed every minute of our stay in this lovely Cabin. Very warm and cosy with everything you need for a short break. The log burner was a welcome on the one night when it was quite chilly. Good to have a large double ended bath to soak in after getting back from our walk to Lizard Point. The setting is stunning, right on the coastal path and has some spectacular views. Will certainly recommend and would love to come back
08/05/2017Alison
We had the most relaxing five day break at the Halzephron Cabin. We only used the car once to do a little shop at the nearby sainsburys. We were so content just walking along the coast, relaxing in the cabin, and of course lots of walks down the hill to the local pub for drinks and meals.
24/04/2017Harriet
Fantastic stay in a beautiful cabin in a wonderful location. The cabin was beautifully presented with its own secure garden that our little pup loved. Just a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 15 minute drive to Lizard. Amazing scenery. It was the most perfect holiday and we would highly recommend to anyone.
03/04/2017Lauren
it was a lovely cabin with lots of hidden extras and time taken to detail lovely private garden and stunning views
10/03/2017nick
We arrived in the dark on Friday night and had a wonderful welcome from Lucy. We had chocolate biscuits and satsumas (and the offer of milk) and the log burning fire was lit making the whole place warm and welcoming. We spent the firs evening in the Halzephron Inn and then explored that area of Cornwall over the next two days. All in all a fantastic experience and the second time we have booked with Canopy and Stars. Can highly reccommend
06/01/2017Linda
We loves our stay in Halzephron Cabin! The place was beautiful and the cabin very cosy with the fireburner. It was a perfect holiday.

We had a lovely week exploring the Lizard Peninsula - walks, beaches, Eden Project, pasties, cream teas and sunsets with bubbles.
08/07/2016Sarah
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. To come back to a warm cosy environment after a day out walking and exploring the diverse life around was so welcome.
17/06/2016Chris
Fantastic stay at Halzephron cabin. Beautiful scenery and great location for exploring the coast. Porthleven is nearby with nice pub and restaurants and the Halzephron Inn is a short week. Cabin has everything you need for a lovely weekend by the sea including woodburner and bbq depending on the weather. Access to coast path and secrect garden make location magical. Thanks Lucy and Roger
22/04/2016Nancy
We had amazing time. The owners were friendly and knowledgable about the area, as were the locals. The area is beautiful and we will definitely be back.
21/03/2016Liam
We had the most amazing stay at Halzephron Cabin. Everything was catered for and the location was perfect. The cabin has everything you need for a few days escape from normal life. The bed is very comfortable, the living space is cosy with the fire and then the bath is luxurious. We spent our days out walking and exploring the beautiful cornish coastline from morning til mid afternoon and then enjoyed our evenings in the cabin. Although you need a car to get there, when you are there you can easily live without it as there are so many great walks and activities close by and places to eat within walking distance. The cabin is a 1 min walk to the cliff edge where there is a mini amphitheatre and where the sunsets directly above it. We went out one evening with wine and a blanket and it was one of the most stunning sunsets we have ever seen. We can't recommend Halzephron Cabin enough, especially if you are looking for an escape from city life.
22/02/2016Kiera
We had a wonderful time staying at Halzephron Cabin - Lucy and Roger were perfect hosts, we had everything we needed for a perfect long weekend in Cornwall. The setting was incredible, just next to the South West Coast path, and the cabin itself was wonderfully cosy thanks to the log burner. We would happily stay here again to explore more of this beautiful part of the country!
30/10/2015Oliver
A beautiful place to stay. The cabin was cosy and was well thought out. The bath was a very welcome end to the day walking and wave chasing. We found the secret garden and saw 2 stunning sun sets from a privelged view point. Woody (our dog) loved the garden and all the nearby beaches as did we.
02/10/2015Dawn
We had a great stay the cabin it is well thought out with everything you need for self catering and great suggestions for places to eat which we loved

Perfect cosy cabin in an amazing costal location! Lovely welcome from the hosts, very friendly. Step out of the door and onto the costal path in seconds. We enjoyed stunning walks, picnics in church cove and yummy dinners in porthleven. Lovely pub in staggering distance- what more could you want!

We were very comfortable at The Cabin, it was lovely warm when we arrived as it was chilly outside. The Cabin was beautifully clean, a lovely touch was plenty of shampoo/ conditioner and body wash which we used. Plenty of information on where to go and where to eat. We had a wonderful stay at The Cabin, it was easy to find and easy to access, and we would definitely stay there again.

15/09/2023J
03/05/2019Claire
29/04/2019Poppy

We had the most relaxing five day break at the Halzephron Cabin. We only used the car once to do a little shop at the nearby sainsburys. We were so content just walking along the coast, relaxing in the cabin, and of course lots of walks down the hill to the local pub for drinks and meals.
