Wild Weekends: series one

In series one of Wild Weekends we got out into the UK to discover some of the best adventures these wild isles had to offer. Along for the ride was director, filmmaker, and environmentalist, Jack Harries.

We brought you tips, guides, and inspiration for your own wild weekends. Think secret beaches, award-winning distilleries, woodland cinemas, and the sort of long summer days that you'll remember for years to come.

Herefordshire

We kicked things off in cider county – where adventure beckons in every woodland dell, where activities on the River Wye end with drinks in riverside pubs, and incredible spaces are dotted between stupefyingly beautiful vistas.

Sussex

For our second wild weekend, we hopped on a train and headed for a part of Sussex that feels wonderfully remote even though it’s only an hour from London. Resisting the rolling downs and stunning coastline the county is famous for, Jack pitched up at Wilderness Wood; an incredible community project created to help people live and learn in a different way.

Kent

It’s Wild Weekend no. 3, and we track the journey from St Pancras to the sea, in under 90 minutes. From the unexpected to the underappreciated – we start off with a sunset swim and warm back up by the wood burner in a sustainable ‘Beach House’. Get out into the wild with a safari tour to explore Elmley Nature Reserve and meet the minds behind the rewilding of the area.

South Wales

Every month we’ve focused on a different region and this time we’re in Monmouthshire – where you’ll find tiny mountains, incredible eateries and stunning wild spaces all around. See what adventures befall Jack as we jump into South Wales! Grab some guides and inspiration for your very own wild weekend, below.
