Friend Therapy

Gather your crew at these sociable places, for that special kind of therapy in which you regress about 10 years, laugh at the same old jokes and get to be totally yourself for a few easy days. It's probably the most fun you'll ever have working on your mental health.

This is just one of ten types of experience in The Feel Good 100, a series of ways to boost your wellbeing with the outdoors. You can see the other types here, or sign up to our newsletter, and have them sent straight to your inbox over the next few weeks.

Camelot, Somerset

21. Too much to do!

With views that stretch as far as the eye can see, looking out can take your eyes as far as Wells in the distance. Look back, and you’ll find a space for six that borders on the palatial. There’s room for everyone in the sauna and the outdoor bath, the hard part’s picking who comes with you.

Floathouse Amelie, Cornwall

22. Riverside quiet

Perfect for a couple of couples, The Floathouse Amelie is the spot to settle in for a few days of watching the tide ebb and flow, the boats potter up and down and the light constantly shift on the Penryn River. You might make it as far as Falmouth for a day out – but you’ll hurry back.

Lane End, Herefordshire

23. A brilliant bunker

You'll have people lining up to come with you to the incredible surrounds of this long, turf-roofed space overlooking miles and miles of beautiful Welsh countryside. Breeze from the hot tub at one end to the outdoor lounge at the other, enjoying every inch of the stylish, sumptuous space in between.

The Lodge, Cumbria

24. Seclusion on the river

With woodland walks right behind you, and a river in front for fishing – wholesome days are in abundance. This is a cabin’s cabin, with a front porch for watching the afternoon drift away, and a hot tub to one side for evenings filled with laughter and clinking glasses.

Double Deckerdence, Lincolnshire

25. A busload of fun

Sitting within its own 100 acres or so of a working family farm, you’d think that’d be the best part. But alongside all the usual suspects of glamping, a wood burner, firepits, pizza oven, hot tub and roll top bath – you can expect to find a climbing wall, ball pits and tunnels.

Silva Treehouse, Cumbria

26. Mountain hot tub views

It took 15 years to get right, which will come as no surprise when you look around and see the incredible craftsmanship (and the slide). You might be spending your days with your friends exploring the incredible Lake District, but trust us, you’ll be hurrying home for mountain views in the hot tub.

Knotting Hill Barn House, Leicestershire

27. Wildflower & bluebell meadows

You could spend all day here, walking from wildflower to bluebell meadow, messing about on the lake in canoes, or making pizzas all afternoon. It fits eight people, and whether you’re all gathering round the fire indoors, the al fresco table or the hot tub you’ll know you picked the right spot.

Box Barn, Monmouthshire

28. Room for all 15

It’s not every day you find a glampsite for 15, but when you do, it’s even less often its this incredible. Perfect for family gatherings, mealtimes are out of this world, with a smoker BBQ, and a swing arm firepit BBQ. There’s also an eight-person hot tub, a gym, yoga deck and much, much more.

Rufus's Roost, Yorkshire

29. Moors the merrier

You might end up striking out on the North York Moors from here, but more likely you'll be unable to convince people to leave once they've crossed the long boardwalk. The hot tub, the huge lounge, the views from upstairs and the slide down to the reading nook might be too much to fight against!

Nantseren, Carmarthenshire

30. Your own festival

Go wild in a private corner of Bannau Brycheiniog, with mountain walks, wild ponies and dark skies to get you outside, plus the games barn to draw you inside for pool, board game battles and guitar singalongs. It's like having your own little festival and the freedom to enjoy it however you wish.

Inspiration

Where to celebrate as a group

Making memories, creating silly in-jokes, chatting round the campfire and blasting out a few off-key renditions of happy birthday. If you have a group that you normally rough it under canvas with, maybe it’s time to treat yourselves to a glamping upgrade for a special occasion. Whatever the milestone, we’ve got some unique and spectacular places for large groups to celebrate in.

Inspiration

Our best group places for a special occasion

There are times when a trip to the local pub just doesn’t cut the mustard. Instead of recreating the same night out that you’ve done a hundred times (yawn) get creative and book a glamping getaway for that milestone birthday, uni reunion, engagement bash or couples gathering. The best thing about a Canopy & Stars holiday is the amount of unique experiences and memorable activities you can share together in the great outdoors. Take a look at our group places for special occasions.

Cabin Inspiration

Cabins under £200pp for a weekend away with friends

Whether it’s a snowy getaway to a remote cabin in the mountains, or a sunny weekend near the coast, planning a trip away with friends can be tough – especially when people are working with different budgets. With that in mind, we’ve come up with a list of cabins that keep the price per night under £200, for at least six people so everyone can meet in the middle.
