Overview
Brittany is famous for its glorious sandy beaches, and Arnaud’s family site has two fabulous ones for you to enjoy, just minutes from your tent. Spend the morning paddling in the shallow waters or making a ‘sand château’ and then borrow one of Bot-Conan Lodge’s original postal bikes, tuck a baguette under your arm and explore the grounds and local area for the best picnic spot in suitably French style (the beret is optional).
The twenty or so safari lodge tents are authentic South African designs, while the spacious interiors have been decked out in a style that’s closer to home, with vintage fabrics from the château at Bot-Conan Lodge, and light drapes sectioning off the living and sleeping areas. Step outside onto the big raised deck which has an outdoor kitchen and dining table so you can eat dinner in the evening sun. With so much to do and plenty of space to play, your kids will have made plenty of friends in no time! Hot showers are in two communal shower blocks nearby, newly renovated with grass rooves that blend naturally into the green landscape.
Being in Brittany, a welcoming bottle of local cider is of course provided on arrival, and there are countless places to sample an authentic crêpe. The local village of Beg-Meil has a regular market where you can pick up fresh produce, as well as a mouth-watering selection of seafront restaurants and ice cream shops. Ask Arnaud for a top tip for lunch!

From owner Arnaud:

"Back when I was a kid, I used to spend all my summer holidays at Bot-Conan and play for hours with the kids from the campsite my father had developed. Years passed, the campsite closed, and nature quickly took over.
As I was raising my own kids and looking for a fresh start, I remembered all those magical summers and asked myself, why not revive the business?
Knowing the value of this pristine environment, I decided to make it a glamping site with a few canvas tents set up on wooden decks. My idea was to offer a one of a kind experience to my guests, in harmony with nature without sacrificing modern comfort. It was quite a challenge to revive the campsite, renovate the bath houses and find the best and most appropriate accommodation, but together with my wife and my two kids, we succeeded! It is hard work but I always look forward to meeting with my guests and sharing with them my knowledge and tips on the area. It is now a great pleasure to welcome families and couples from all over Europe and see them enjoy, as I used to, this unique campsite."

This is a gem of a place. Totally charming, well run and right on a beautiful stretch of coastline.

Amazing campsite, we loved everything: - the cool, dark safari tent, where we could cook and eat under the canopy everyday - the great location of the quiet, natural site just minutes from bot Cannan beach which is perfect for relaxing, swimming or rock pooling on a low tide.
09/06/2017Chris
We had an absolutely fantastic holiday. the safari tent was great and had everything we needed. A truly beautiful location right by a lovely beach with snorkelling and rock pools and sea that felt safe for the kids. Great area with plenty to see though when the sun shone the beach was a perfect place to spend the day.
13/08/2016Jo
Fantastic place and perfect location with a beautiful beach a short stroll away. We were met and shown around the site and later greeted by Arnaud to make sure we were happy with everything. Mostly families with younger kids so not sure my twin teens were overly enthusiastic but soon settled into the laid back life without all mod cons. To their delight there was a table tennis table and a very good wifi zone. Toilet blocks are lovely, clean and modern. The safari tents were perfect and comfortable. We were provided with extra blankets as it was a bit chilly a couple of nights. Beds very comfortable too! A lovely place which we would highly recommend!
06/08/2016Karen
Fantastic location by the beach with loads of room on the site for kids to play, excellent washroom and cooking facilities and great sauna and hot tub.
09/07/2016tom
very enjoyable. Excellent tents and facilities. Arnold and his wife very helpful. Just finished installing sauna and hot tubs as our stay finished. We had a great tent position - would have been less happy with some others which seemed to be very shaded in the trees.

Everything about it was amazing! It was our honeymoon and we wouldn't have wanted to spend it anywhere else

We stayed for three nights and very much hope to go back for longer. We have recommended it to our friends and family. It would be fun to go back as a group. The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped. The shower and toilet facilities were modern and clean. The beach was very pretty.
