Overview
As you cross the little bridge to your enclosed private area, you’ll begin your adventure at Stellar Safari Lodge! With room for six, this is the perfect spot for a family to reconnect or for a group to meet up in an ample, yet intimate space. With a kitchen and a generous dining table you can whip up extravagant feasts, and then unfasten the canvas to let the fresh Welsh air in as you dine. If you’ve come by way of the butchers in Rhayader, you might want to slap the local lamb chops on the BBQ and make like hardy travellers on the Serengeti.
If you venture out onto hiking trails, cycle paths or go kayaking on the reservoirs that are outlined in the maps and guides left for you, you’ll come home to a shower in toasty water in the cosy indoors bathroom. As the sun sets, take to the firepit and skewer the marshmallows from your welcome pack. Spend awhile in the sauna, freshen up in the outdoor shower, or start the wood-fired hot tub, lie back and watch your stress float up and away on the steam. In fact, the airspace is so crystal clear that the area has ‘Dark Skies’ status; reserved for the best of un-light-polluted night sky.

Stephen's family have farmed the Lon Farm for the past 80 years with livestock of sheep and cattle, while Kerena was brought up in hospitality, living with parents that owned a local hotel. The pair love unique and bespoke options for visitors and the idea of luxury glamping inspired them to build Stellar Safari with the help from our talented craftsman friend, they are so pleased with their creation. They want to welcome guests to this special place and part of Mid Wales, to give them a flavour of the Welsh tranquil landscape and the wonderful people and places that form the rural way of life.

Our guests say...
Jeanette
It was just a breeze from start to finish. We had been in communication with Kerena for a few months helping us put an itinerary together for our stay and it worked so well. We were greeted on arrival and given a detailed tour, the hot tub was all set up and there was plenty of wood for the sauna and fire pit. The location was lovely for what we wanted and so picturesque. We felt very catered for as a group of 6 staying and fitted what we wanted perfectly. The bed sheets were a little bobbly but cannot say we were that fussed. Lots of games to access, information on the areas and even if you didn't want to move for food you can order take out right to the lodge (we didn't we used the fit pit which was great). The weather just held out for us, it was so nice to sit on the back porch and watch the rain fall. Would highly recommend.

It was fantastic, we felt very well looked after. The lodge is beautiful
05/07/2024Jo
Fantastic, couldn't fault the safari tent and hosts!
10/06/2024Jade
Host was so welcoming and attentive, meaning we were able to settle quickly. The attention to detail and quality of decor was exceptional. Everything was thought of from the positioning of lights around the lodge, the privacy screen inbetween the only gap there was between two trees, little forest animal teddies strategically placed around the bedrooms, wooden crafter sculptures around the outside, you could feel the love and care the owners have for their business. Everything in the lodge was with purpose from information folders, flyers to books that were all deliberately about the area. We feel we’ve found somewhere we will return to often. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed it.

Had such an amazing time at Stella Safari. The most stunning setting- pure relaxation. Our hosts were nothing but welcoming, helpful and generous. So informative with walks and activities etc.

Our host, Karena, met us when we arrived to show us around the the lodge which was perfect. Everything that we could have needed had been thought of and provided. The setting was completely beautiful and had the feel being secluded without being isolated. We would love to come back for another visit.
25/10/2023Gemma
The lodge was in a beautiful, peaceful location which was easy to find with the directions we had been provided with. The Lodge was spotlessly clean and well-equipped with all home comforts you could need. The hot tob had been fired up by Kerena, the host, and it was lovely to be able to relax with a drink as the evening drew in. The Lodge was very comfortable, the beds were cosy and warm and the log burner, which we only needed to use at night time was a welcome feature. Kerena was very easy to communicate with and a very thoughtful host, providing a lovely welcome pack for us. We would definitely recommend a stay here to recharge the batteries in a gorgeous spot.
28/06/2023Sue
Stellar Safari Lodge exceeded all expectations and then some. After crossing over the bridge we immediately headed to the outdoor area, greeted by a steaming hot tub. Our first port of call was to fire up the multi-use bbq-firepit-pizza oven and then set about deciding on pizza toppings. Once we had happily feasted, it was time to pour a generous glass of wine and slide into the hot tub whilst the sun set behind the hills. An evening well spent and to be repeated the next night - thank you so much to Kerena for a truly wonderful stay.
19/05/2023Sarah, Canopy & Stars
The safari lodge was the perfect getaway and the perfect hiding spot overlooking the never ending fields of sheep. We spent 2 nights back to nature with a fire making pizzas, bbq food and making s’mores.
15/05/2023Chris
We had a wonderful, very comfortable weekend to catch up with friends and celebrate one's upcoming marriage.
05/05/2023Olivia
We loved our stay! Our hosts were so lovely and paid so much attention to detail. Highlights of the lodge are the lovely view of the hot tub and the lovely comfy beds.
28/04/2023Amy
Kerena and Stephen have created such a magical place. A haven from the real world. Every little detail was thought of. We had the most wonderful weekend and I cannot recommend highly enough.
28/10/2022Lucy
We had the most fantastic time at Stellar Safari Lodge. The whole experience was just wonderful. The lodge was clean and cosy, with a personal touch and some welcome goodies in the fridge. Kerena had fired up the hot tub for us when we arrived, and provided loads of info about things to do in the area. There was lots of starting firewood and walking route info around the farm which we took in. This is the little Welsh gem we've been looking for! There's also so much to do in the area, all of which was provided in a binder on the dining table. Cannot recommend this stay enough!
31/08/2022Jason
We just came back from an absolutely AMAZING family holiday at Stellar Lodge. The tent is brilliantly designed. We have stayed in a fair few safari tents and this has been easily the best. Its beautifully appointed and immensely practical in design. More thoughtful touches than you could imagine possible and super comfortable. The outside space and pure tranquility is a fantastic backdrop to nights in the hot tub and games / toasted marshmallows round the firepit. Kerena was wonderfully welcoming and always available if we had any questions. Would 100% recommend.
25/07/2022Anna
We had the most wonderful weekend at Stellar lodge. This is a bit higher budget than we usually go, and boy we were so chuffed we did. So much care and attention to detail to make your stay easy and fun.
15/07/2022Rhiannon
Having stayed in many quirky and 'different' glamping places, this was by far the best we ever stayed in! Set in the stunning Welsh countryside the Stellar Safari Lodge really did live up to its expectations and more. The lodge itself is stunning, high quality and includes everything needed for your stay. We had plenty of logs for the fires and hot tub for the entire stay and if we needed more they were free unlike many other places which charge for more. The lodge offers amazing views and is absolutely secluded and private, with only the sheep and cows in sight - it truly is bliss especially if you have the weather. Thanks so much, we'll be back!
10/06/2022Gareth
Although completely contained in the Welsh outdoors, this place made us feel as cosy as if we were right at home. From the cleverly designed interior to magical lighting all over the place it is clear the owners put much thought and effort into making this place special. We watched the milky way straight out of the hot tub, enjoyed a glass of wine by the wood fired stove, and we got engaged! Thank you for providing such a wonderful backdrop to our special moments!
25/05/2022Jola
The lodge was beautifully appointed with stunning views and everything we needed for a fabulous break. Kerena really went the extra mile to make our stay extra special for our family.

We had a very relaxed stay at Stellar Lodge. It was in a beautiful setting, surrounded by nature. The tent was fitted out to a very high standard, with many thoughtful details. The beds were very cosy, with plenty of blankets, and the hot water bottles were a real treat. We spent most evenings outside, in the hot tub, toasting marshmallows, etc. The sauna was a novelty, very therapeutic. Kerena was a great host and provided lots of useful knowledge about the surrounding area.

There's also so much to do in the area, all of which was provided in a binder on the dining table. Cannot recommend this stay enough!

We had the most wonderful weekend at Stellar lodge. This is a bit higher budget than we usually go, and boy we were so chuffed we did. So much care and attention to detail to make your stay easy and fun.
