Overview
Right at the edge of The Nidderdale National Landscape, and the adjoining Yorkshire Dales National Park, you can find Clover perched on the bend of the River Ure. This isn’t just the perfect launching point to those green spaces, it’s the spot to go for a few days of kicking back, and taking it easy – or, both.
You’ve one of the four shepherd’s huts that are perched along the river, but don’t worry, they’re angled for privacy. After venturing out to explore, with miles of moor to hike, and mountainside to climb, you’ve got the ideal spot to return to. If you’ve brought the dog, you can head to the dog washroom after your adventures, where towels and shampoos are provided. After, you can pop in the shower yourself – or finish off a hard day’s walk with a stint in the wood-fired sauna, followed by a cold plunge (if you’ve booked)!
Refuelling is as easy as hitting up the BBQ on deck, with a jealous wide-eyed dog next to you, and as you while away the afternoon on a recliner, you can transition to sitting on the sofa under the cover with fairy light above. Finishing off the evening, awhile spent around the firepit might be tempting, as will spending an hour in the outdoor bathtub, star spotting and soothing those weary calves.

A very relaxing break

We really enjoyed our stay at Riverdale. It is a great spot looking out over the river and the outdoor space gets the sun all day with loads of areas to hang out within your own private area, whether to have a drink/meal, build a fire or just enjoy the views. It was lovely and cosy inside with underfloor heating and the sun shining through, and has a nice comfy bed. We particularly loved the hamper filled with local goods! Having private use of the custom built sauna was a real treat as it was a really nice one, and surprisingly the dips in the ice bath outside were good too!
