Overview
A traditional shepherd's hut with a vintage feel deep in the woods in its own secluded space. Surrounded by bluebells in the Spring and swathes of ferns throughout the summer months. This ancient woodland also provides a canopy of trees with birdsong and owls hooting during the night and other delights. Fairy lights, outdoor solar lighting and lanterns add to the magical setting. Nature surrounds you in this very special and unique setting. The hot safari shower under an oak tree is another delight, a short stroll through the woods. The outdoors meets the indoors halfway at Posey. The floral theme of the décor inside echoes the woodland and the camp kitchen means that mealtimes evoke a sort of Enid Blyton existence.

There are wonderful walks around the family farm including another larger wood nearby with streams and glades and plenty of wildlife in this quiet location. Meet your hosts
Georgie & Francis have lived at Heath Barn for over 20 years. In the creation of their shepherd's hut camps and wildflower meadow, they have combined their love of the local area and its outstanding natural beauty with the experience from many years of travelling. They invite guests to get outdoors and experience their wonderful home.
The two shepherd's huts and Munday's Meadow are on either side of the estate, and cannot be seen from each other. Posey and Lima share a bluebell wood and are not visible from one another, each with their own private space in the wood. Munday's Meadow is in the wildflower meadow, across two fields and a bridge. If you want to book the whole site, they're only around a 5 min walk apart.

Damian
Stunning location in the forest just minutes outside of Stow on the Wold. Georgie was a lovely host, and provided us with absolutely everything we needed and more. Posey cabin is off grid which makes it a very quiet stay, minimal phone signal and no electricity. Just lovely for a perfect peaceful break. Bed is small but comfortable, outdoor rain shower is a nice touch. All cooking facilities provided, and plenty of wood for fires etc. Will definitely stay again.
23/08/2023Elly
What a peaceful and calm location. Lots of lovely details to help make the stay easy and relaxed. Most amazing experience of just being alone with nature in the wood. The wood itself is beautiful. The shepherd's hut was cute and organised, and the outside area had everything I needed. Toilet and hot water was a short walk through the woods but tidy and also organised well. Outdoor shower was wonderful with treecanopy above. Saw wild rabbits on the fields everytime I looked!
24/07/2023Jodie
I had a wonderful stay in Posey, it was like my own secret, quiet paradise for 2 days and at times I felt like a Disney princess with rabbits and birds all around me! Really magical time and the perfect switch off from working during the day.
28/06/2023Faye
We had the most wonderful stay in our little shepherd's hut. It was just as pictured and so so peaceful. The kitchen area is super well equipped and we had everything we could possibly need to prepare all food. The shower was hot and the toilet was a great eco alternative to a portaloo. Would definitely return.
26/08/2022Samantha
We had a lovely time, got to explore Oxford and the local area. Very peaceful In the woods and got to see hedgehogs, birds , bats and birds of prey. This was our 10 year wedding anniversary.
24/06/2022Charlotte
My stay was absolute bliss! A much needed solo retreat. Everything I needed was stored in the cosy hut, and my stay went with absolute ease. The decor is beautiful in the hut, and the surrounding area is much to be admired.
10/06/2022Karla
Wonderfully peaceful and beautiful
06/05/2022Alison
Had a really lovely time. Beautiful woodland area, everything thought out perfectly. The bluebells are stunning. Definitely staying again!! Really good hosts as well.
29/04/2022Shireen
We spent three nights in Posey. We were hoping to get away from the city for some outdoorsy quality time, which is exactly what we got.
07/09/2021Benjamin
A lovely escape which was much needed, quiet and remote.
03/09/2021Simon
Our stay was just what we needed. Nestled in the woods you can hear the wildlife around you with the relaxing sway and rustle of the trees. The hut was very cosy and tidy, the kitchen area was brilliant. Cooking was easy with all the bits and bobs you need although I would have liked a chopping board. My mum felt the toilet was a bit too far to walk at times but I was quite content with the walk. The shower was the icing on the cake. It was absolute bliss to have a warm shower outside. You’re also so close to towns and there are tonnes and tonnes of things to do in the surrounding areas. Our stay at Posy gave us some much needed mind medicine and I loved every second of our stay.
24/08/2021Aprill
Lovely hut away from everything Everything you need is on site There’s a freezer in the house hut to freeze your ice blocks and charge your phones Lovely place to just sit back and chill for a few days away from everything with some beau places to visit near by
06/08/2021Anthony
Absolutely brilliant stay was perfect very basic and outdoor living but that was the whole point. Very secluded, total serenity
30/07/2021Lisa
Lovely little spot. Lots of privacy and good setup.
27/07/2021Neil
Amazing stay in glorious sunshine. The site was perfect for a complete rest and laze about listening to the wildlife. The Shepherd’s hut was clean and comfortable and the cooking space was all that was needed. Loved it.
16/07/2021Jeremy
Absolutely wonderful! A gorgeous and cosy setting for the perfect break away. Would recommend to anyone who wants to connect back to nature for a few days. Perfect for introverts as there is barely anyone around. Lots of wildlife to be spotted & scenic walks and maybe something in the sky if you’re lucky ;). Thank you for this lovely experience - we won’t forget it .
06/07/2021Phoebe
We stayed for 3 nights. Francis and Georgie were incredibly welcoming and provided everything we needed and gave us information about the local area. We wanted to get away and relax in nature and this was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful location. Quiet, picturesque. Felt like we were miles away from everyone.
08/06/2021Anthony
Was a magical weekend away! Just the right amount of rustic and tranquility with running water, gas stove and a cosy bed.
14/05/2021Andy
A really beautiful woodland with a great set up of facilities. It was so lovely to be outside in the forest with the sounds of birds and a carpet of bluebells for a long weekend.
23/04/2021Kate
We really enjoyed our stay at Posey! The little campsite is totally isolated, we barely saw another person. It's very well equipped, everything you need to make a campfire, bbq, or to just sit and read a while. The hut itself is also very comfortable! Overall, we had a lovely time.
04/08/2020Ellie
We had wonderful anniversary break at Posey! Incredibly relaxing; gorgeous location, propely back to nature, only the pitter-patter of rain on the crinkly tin roof of the shepherds hut and the birds! Lovely hosts too, Frances even gave my husband some spare camera film for his analog camera. We'll be back!
07/07/2020Emma
From he photos it looked beautiful but the reality was even better. The location of the hut was secluded and we get miles away from anywhere, despite being close to the owners home. The host was very friendly and helpful and checked if there was anything she could do to make our stay more enjoyable, but also gave us the privacy we wanted. The bed was very comfy and we both had the best nights sleep we’ve had in years. We loved badger watching and sitting around our campfire cooking jacket potatoes in the Dutch oven over the fire. Just what we needed and we’ll definitely be back!
30/08/2019Kate
Stayed at Posey with my partner for three days and had the most wonderful time. The land that the cabin is on is magical. The cabin is comfortable and the facilities are great. Lots of privacy and the outdoor shower was super hot and pleasurable. We were able to completely switch off. Loads of great places within half an hour drive (or less) from the site to discover. Can't believe the beauty of the Cotswolds. A very special place and we hope to return.
07/06/2019Siena
A group of 24 friends (including 4 in the shepherd huts Lima and Posey) stayed for a birthday celebration weekend in mid May and we all had the most amazing and memorable time. Our particular highlight was the hobbit hut which was larger than it looked and the stunning bluebell wood where the huts are located a short walk from the meadow. The site had everything we could need for the weekend and it was perfect to have a meadow to ourselves in the beautiful Cotswolds. Georgie was a great host and answered any questions that we had. Peaceful, beautiful back to nature stay a lovely romantic getaway in a great location only 10min from a small town and near plenty of lovely places to explore, cycling or walking. Everything you need is provided and love how you felt out in the sticks. Just to note the toilet is away from the hut and the shower not as suggested in the photos, not that we mined. We also would have liked a hook in the hut on the ceiling to hang the lantern and maybe some guidebooks for walks, cycling would have been helpful but otherwise no complaints. We recommend the cotswolds waterpark and Edgworth walk. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

We stayed for 2 nights for my wife's 40th. Despite the rain we had one of the most relaxing and restorative breaks. The hut itself is lovely, and perfectly cosy with the stove lit. The covered kitchen meant rain was no issue and the safari shower was a real luxury. I would highly recommend it.

Had a lovely two night in posey , everthing was clean and as advertised. The woods are great and the use of a campfire and wood burner made the trip. Outdoor kitchen was perfect and ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds

Whole new experience. It was great to be able to relax in these tranquil surroundings. Even the rain didn't dampen down the stay. In some ways it actually added to the experience.

We went for my girlfriend's surprise birthday getaway. Absolutely beautiful location and a very warm welcome from the owners. Provisions were substantial and the efforts made in preparing and dressing the location were generous. The room itself was stunning. Aside from that, the external kitchen area and nearby fire pit made our personal clearing in the woods look like a fantasy tale. 1 other location in the woods, couldn't see them, couldn't hear them. We truly felt alone. The outdoor shower was warm and toilet facilities very clean. Couldn't ask for more from a perfect weekend.

I went with my 5 year old daughter for some mummy and daughter time before I have the new baby ( I am 5 months pregnant). We had lovely time, it was just the right balance of outdoor camping experience and then having an indoor to retreat to. It was a bit wet and rainy the first half of the week, but it honestly didn't spoil anything we just stayed in and cuddled on the bed and read stories a bit more than we had planned. The woods were magical and Mindy really took to living in them including the compost toilet and outdoor shower. She also loved the swings.

It was a birthday surprise for my partner. I fell in love with the place just from the pictures and he absolutely loved it when we arrived. It's perfect for escaping the day-to-day rush, no phones, no laptops, just trees and campfire. Both of us really needed a break like that.

Posey is beautiful!! From the moment we pulled up and walked through the woods, we felt relaxed and refreshed. The little hut is gorgeous, warm, clean and provides everything you could think of... plus the bottle of wine! We had so much fun cooking outside, making campfires and listening to the badgers and the bird song. I have never showered outside before, but my gosh! I am considering moving my shower into the garden (lucky neighbours!) even when it rained I didn't care - it just added to how fantastic it was. The compost toilet was great - no smell - andit was nice to be sat there watching the birds. Thank you so much for making this little bit of heaven in the Cotswolds.

Posey was delightfully to stay at. Everything we needed for a cosy little get away. It was wonderful waking up to the sound of the birds and the open air shower was very warm and refreshing. Would highly recommend.

"I thought it was an excellent place, exactly what was described and therefore exactly what we expected. The owners were very friendly and helpful when we needed to borrow a torch to help find our way and the outdoor shower was great. I would love to go back. The only thing that didn't meet our expectations was having the shower a little further away from where we were staying than we thought and also we didn't realise the showers were communal but it really wasn't an issue."

Georgie the hostess welcomed us warmly despite it being quite late by the time we arrived - she had even laid out a bottle of red wine in the caravan with two glasses and a corkscrew! It was very nice and peaceful

I had a wonderful stay in Posey, it was like my own secret, quiet paradise for 2 days and at times I felt like a Disney princess with rabbits and birds all around me! Really magical time and the perfect switch off from working during the day.

We had the most wonderful stay in our little shepherd's hut. It was just as pictured and so so peaceful. The kitchen area is super well equipped and we had everything we could possibly need to prepare all food. The shower was hot and the toilet was a great eco alternative to a portaloo. Would definitely return.

My stay was absolute bliss! A much needed solo retreat. Everything I needed was stored in the cosy hut, and my stay went with absolute ease. The decor is beautiful in the hut, and the surrounding area is much to be admired.

We spent three nights in Posey. We were hoping to get away from the city for some outdoorsy quality time, which is exactly what we got.

A lovely escape which was much needed, quiet and remote.

Lovely hut away from everything Everything you need is on site There’s a freezer in the house hut to freeze your ice blocks and charge your phones Lovely place to just sit back and chill for a few days away from everything with some beau places to visit near by

Amazing stay in glorious sunshine. The site was perfect for a complete rest and laze about listening to the wildlife. The Shepherd’s hut was clean and comfortable and the cooking space was all that was needed. Loved it.

A really beautiful woodland with a great set up of facilities. It was so lovely to be outside in the forest with the sounds of birds and a carpet of bluebells for a long weekend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Posey! The little campsite is totally isolated, we barely saw another person. It's very well equipped, everything you need to make a campfire, bbq, or to just sit and read a while. The hut itself is also very comfortable! Overall, we had a lovely time.

Thanks for having us!!
