Overview
A one-of-a-kind escape Hideout Treehouse is the only treehouse in the UK with a moving bath. Whatever the weather, you can roll your bath onto the terrace and relax with birds singing in the background or take an outdoor shower. The wood-fired hot tub surrounded by young woods is perfect for evenings under the stars with a glass of something chilled.
The treehouse living space is huge and designed to bring the outdoors in, with a comfiest sofa and bifold doors, you can switch off and watch the world go by. If you prefer the big screen, then you will love the movie projector in the living room and make sure to grab some popcorn. There’s also a well-equipped kitchen, which can cater to some romantic dinners by the fire – though if the weather’s just right, you might be tempted by the pizza oven or the outdoor stove in the private woodland terrace area that overlooks the woods and meadows. Or just relax in the double hammock or sink into wood-fired hot tub.
Your dream bedroom features super king size bed and your copper bath. There is a second bedroom with bunk beds, colourful lighting, and games if you decide to bring the kids. Your four-legged friends will be spoilt too, with a bed, treats and a warm outdoor shower and plenty of space to run around.

The pictures - which are beautiful enough - do not do this amazing place justice. We were left open-mouthed when we first arrived at just how stunning it was. We stayed during Storm Ciaran and were more than happy to hole up and enjoy this special space - the piece de resistance being the bath that slides inside and out. There has been so much attention paid to detail and to making whoever stays here feel utterly spoiled. We will definitely be going again.

We came to stay with our two children, 5 and 8. It was booked as a bit of a treat for our 10-year wedding anniversary. You can see by the pictures how magical the place is but what you can't see is all the gorgeous special touches there. They had baked us a cake in the shape of a heart and left out a bottle of bubbles, there were pre-charged lanterns we used for a night hot tub experience, and there was an iPad with all the instructions you needed in the treehouse, there was a crystal stopped bottle of bubble bath (the kids loved this in the wheel out bath which was just SO cool) and all the kitchen equipment was really high end kit, we also had a walk around the property which the kids loved as it was almost like a maze with little passageways zig zagging all over the place. We hope to be back!

It was absolutely perfect in every single way! The owners had thought of everything you could possible wish for, and more!

We visited for a long weekend in August and felt like we were away for much longer, returning home fully relaxed and refreshed from our stay in the treehouse. Everything is so well thought out, from the moment we arrived to find a torch, umbrella and wheelbarrow to help us transport our luggage from the car to the treehouse, to the perfect little touches in the treehouse itself. Our highlights were making pizzas in the outdoor oven and relaxing in the hot tub and outdoor bath. One day we visited nearby Hartland Quay for a lovely, bracing walk on the coast and loved returning to the peace and tranquility of the treehouse to rest our worn out legs. Had a great time playing games in the meadow on the grounds and exploring the woodland. Perfect for our seven year old. The pubs in the nearby village are also very welcoming and do great food. We will definitely return!

We have had the most wonderful stay. This was genuinely the loveliest place we have ever stayed. Total luxury. The hosts were so accommodating and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The treehouse was well equipped and complete luxury.
21/07/2023Lyndsey
Magicial from the moment we arrived, tranquil setting, so calming and amongest nature. The Hideout treehouse is very private, set in amongest the trees. Upon arrival the hot tub was warm and ready for us and the tree house we immaculate with beutiful geatures that made my birthday extra special for me. Lovely birthday banner, cake and bubbles ready to enjoy. The treehouse was very clean with extra special touches that make an experience extra special. Beautiful toilties to use, kitchen essential all provided. Lots of room to relax and enjoy all the treehouse has to offer. The outdoor pizza oven and cooking facilites worked well, the hottub was easy to use. The main bedroom bath been able to move outdoor gives a bath a extra special magical experience. The wildlife and birds are so beautiful to wake up to and we all enjoyed very moment of our stay. The grounds are fun and enjoyable for a nice dog walk and we all enjoyed the outdoor lawn games also provided. We made some very special magical birthday memories which will be cherished for a long time, thanks so such for providing such a beautiful well thoughout hideaway to enjoy.

Brilliant. Stayed in an awesome treehouse for the weekend. The treehouse was so well designed with so many fine details really excellently considered.

Absolutely stunning treehouse and setting. The most relaxing place to kick back and take in the surroundings. AAA*

My partner and our dog had the best stay in the Hideout Treehouse. The accommodation was nothing short of perfect. It completely surpassed our expectations (which were already super high from the photos alone!) - the location was beautiful and so quiet - which was great for us personally as our rescue dog struggles with strange dogs/strangers. Everything was so well considered - we actually didn’t make any other plans other than walking the dog as we didn’t want to waste much time away from the treehouse as it was so perfect and enjoyable.
01/03/2023Hannah
Our stay was brilliant. Exceeded all expectations. My husband owns a very large wood burning stove business so he was in his element lighting the state of the art stoves, pizza oven and hot tub. Every tiny detail was catered for. The Valentine's welcome was brilliant. What a magical place. It blew me away. The place is absolutely up my street having grown up by a stream. It evoked magical childhood memories and my children could not believe how amazing it was.

My partner and I stayed in the Hideout Treehouse for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. From the second we arrived in our parking spot the personal and considerate touches began and the stress of day to day life and our long drive just melted away. The treehouse itself is just beyond perfect. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, every little detail has been well thought out. Oh and the smell makes you feel like you’ve just walked into a spa! We were welcomed with a little birthday celebration gift on the most beautifully laid dining table. Every space in the tree house is well designed, functional and just a pleasure to be in. We made use of everything the treehouse and the surrounding area had to offer and it was hands down the best staycation we have ever done. We look forward to going back.

Wow what can I say! The best place we have stayed so far. We do not have one thing this place needs to change-they have thought of everything! Thank you for the memories!
23/01/2023Alex
The Hideout Treehouse is absolutely out of this world. The attention for detail is surreal. Everything you want, this treehouse has. From a massive sofa, outdoor bath, a table big enough for board games, gorgeous hot tub & cake and Prosecco on arrival. Everything was spotlessly clean and immaculate. Had all the modern appliances that made the stay. I’ve stayed at a few treehouses and this was by far the best!!!!!! It was spacious and so very cosy. We didn’t want to leave!! I can’t properly put into words how amazing our stay was!! 100% would go back!!!!!!
13/01/2023Kate
WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing stay in this boutique treehouse. Everything was perfect right from the start. The attention to detail was outstanding! Jay the owner was a super host. Welcoming, warm and friendly. It was so tranquil, cosy, finished to a very high standard. When we first walked into the treehouse, there was quiet music playing, underfloor heating warm and cosy a bottle of bubbly on ice, a birthday cake, and birthday banner for my husband. A cosy log burner, luxurious furnishings, bedding, bath robes, slippers and fluffy towels, even hot water bottles. The wood firing hot tub was ready to hop in, with a glass of bubbly, the trees rustling in the wind, the owls tweeting and the peace and quiet, it was heaven. The location was set in the middle of a meadow and woodland, with a clear sky to see the stars. The additional quirky things that we found around the treehouse were magical. Everything was thought of in advance, all we had to do was relax and enjoy. We didn’t want to leave. Without giving anything else away, Sleepy Owl is a MUST place to stay! With three unique hideouts to choose from. We will most definitely be returning. Xxx

It was sublime - every facet and detail of our accommodation in Hideout, and the whole site, was carefully considered and executed with such close attention to detail and style. There is nothing that hasn't been thought about and been provided for in the best possible way. Jay and Mike are wonderful hosts and go beyond to ensure all their guests' needs are met but they are also serious about making sure Sleepy Owl is the best it can be. Its better than that - without doubt, this is as good as it gets.
28/10/2022Alex
Wonderful stay at the Hideout Treehouse. It had everything we needed for a luxurious stay, from lovely bedding, towels and dressing gowns to books and activities for the kids!
24/10/2022Josie
Such an amazing place from the minute we drove in! Big open spaces, rivers and such a wonderful quiet place. We loved every detail, and there were so many! Everything was so thought of, such a nice place to relax in. The children loved it, the hot tub and pull down screen was a winner. The bunk beds were also a massive hit! Super comfortable beds and sofas, everything we needed was there. Would love to visit again.
21/10/2022Jess
Fabulous!! It was the most luxurious escape, every single aspect of the accomodation was the highest of quality, so much care and thought into the aesthetics for maximum comfort and luxury. We left feeling completely relaxed and in wonderful harmony!
28/09/2022Abi
What a stunning place to stay, the photos actually don't do the treehouse justice. So luxurious and the owners went out of their way to spoil us. A real gem of a find in a gorgeous setting. All within easy walking distance to the village pubs and restaurants. There is so much to do and the online guide was brilliant at suggesting places with helpful hints and tips.
23/09/2022Ferne
This is the most magical place! Everything about the construction and detail of the treehouse has been done to an extremely high standard and we loved our time here. The host is so welcoming and she went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay and had some yummy gluten and dairy free treats on arrival. We really appreciated the attention to detail in the treehouse and the decor is stunning. Our highlight was spending every evening in the log burning hot tub with a glass of wine, under the stars, with nothing but the sound of the owls. We were super lucky with the weather but this little sanctuary would still be just as special in the rain and the under floor heating and log burner are more than enough to keep cosy. We loved every minute and can’t wait to come back one day.
19/09/2022Genna
Our stay was unique and a real treat. The treehouse was beyond my expectations and i cannot wait to go back.
09/09/2022Deena
Jay and Mike have created a truly incredible hideaway, a unique opportunity to live out a child out fantasy in absolute style. They have thought of every detail and were only too happy to accommodate any suggestions or queries we had during our stay. Perfect for families, couples, singles, dogs or any combination.

We stayed at the Hideout Treehouse as a mini moon the day after our wedding. We had an incredibly relaxing time, it rained on and off for most of our visit but we didn't mind as the treehouse had everything we needed. It was obvious the hosts really care about the guests experience and had thought of everything. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the lighting was so cosy. I enjoyed a bath indoors and outdoors which was a truly unique experience that I really enjoyed. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the first night and were able to see a sky full of stars.

Wonderful stay at the Hideout Treehouse. It had everything we needed for a luxurious stay, from lovely bedding, towels and dressing gowns to books and activities for the kids!

Fabulous!! It was the most luxurious escape, every single aspect of the accomodation was the highest of quality, so much care and thought into the aesthetics for maximum comfort and luxury. We left feeling completely relaxed and in wonderful harmony!
