Overview
Meadow hut puts all of nature on your doorstep, with your own private hot tub waiting to soothe muscles aching from a day of great adventure. Located down a quiet lane, Lombard Farm welcomes you to a remote and peaceful retreat, surrounded by nature and far from the busyness of everyday life. The River Fowey and the beach at Lansallos are just a few minutes away, while the hut itself sits in the pristine woodland of the Fowey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can roam along the coastal trail, wander miles of forest paths, or try anything on the water from peaceful paddling to crashing in the surf and coasteering along the rocks. There’s more relaxing entertainment at the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the unmissable Kneehigh theatre if they’re playing nearby, while on the farm itself you can pick apples in season or just lie back and spot the wildlife that rustles and flutters all over the carefully-tended land. Although, the highlight has to be soaking in your own private wood-fired hot tub against a back drop of magical starry skies - making it the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.
Meadow Hut is fully equipped with a kitchen sink, fridge, electric hob and BBQ, en suite bathroom with gas heated shower, and a compost loo. There are more extensive facilities up at The Link, a communal space a couple of minutes walk away that has a big sofa room, games, fridge freezers and washing machines. The Link is probably the only place you’ll meet other guests at the farm, so you can be as sociable as you want to be.

Food & Drink
At Lombard Farm

Local cider and apple juice provided as a gift to every guest. Basics; tea, coffee and sugar are provided.
The three spaces at Lombard Farm share an outside firepit in the garden, perfect for meeting new friends over toasted marshmallows. Each has it's own indoor dining table and an outside picnic table and close by is a small communal barn that can be used to eat in if its raining.
There's a vegetable garden and apple trees which occasionally provide some fine ingredients, the surplus from which you might find on the table in The Link. If you feel the need for some home comforts, The Link is a beautifully appointed space shared between the spaces, a couple of minutes from each. Inside you'll find a fridge freezer for the Yurt (small fridges in each of the cabin and hut) and a kitchen equipped with a toaster, kettle and microwave. It's also where you'll find a stock of games and books, a drying room for damp clothes (there's also a washing machine) and washing up stuff. The whole of The Link has underfloor heating as well, making it a cosy place to curl up.
Lombard has over 5 acres of meadow for picnics and games and beautiful walks from your doorstep to the river and National Trust woods.
For the basics
There is a small shop at the campsite at Bodinnick, which is open around breakfast and teatime, good for the essentials and about 15 min walk or 5 min drive.
If you are planning some healthy eating you could arrange for an organic 'veg box' from The Cornish Food Box Company. Owners Suzi and Patrick can recommend the quality of their fruit and veg. If you do order, ask them to leave the box with your name on it in The Link, or it might end up in the house!
A few other shopping options
The nearest larger shops are in Fowey and the best way to get there, if you are not in a rush, is to walk or drive to the car park at Bodinnick and take the ferry, then walk into Fowey.

There is a small village shop and post office in Lerryn, a pleasant village on the banks or the river, (grid reference 140570). The shop sells papers, food, wine and a good cream tea.
There is a medium sized co-op supermarket in Lostwithiel, (grid reference 106598). If you are looking to do the 'weekly shop' there is a Tesco at Holmbush (grid reference 038526) on the way to St Austell or a Morrisons by the Liskeard bypass (grid reference 642592).
There are fortnightly farmers markets in Lostwithiel and several farm vegetable stands nearby. Churchtown Farm, 01726 870375 fifteen minutes away by car, sells delicious organic beef from the farm.
The fishing port of Looe, about 20 minutes drive away has plenty of fresh fish shops.
The local pub is the Ferry Inn at Bodinnick, a twenty minute walk away or a five minute drive. It has a good atmosphere and pub food with a superb view down the river from the outside seating. The Ship Inn at Lerryn is a 15 minute drive, with good food and close by the river. There are also good local pubs in Fowey.
Fowey has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurantsto suit all tastes and pockets.
You are spoilt for choice for places to eat - whatever you fancy, there is something that will fit the bill. From fine dining in one of the exclusive hotels to relaxed bistros, pubs and quirky cafes offering glorious home made cakes; we have them all. Activities

At Lombard Farm
Why not spend the afternoon in your lovely private wood fired hot tub (each space has it's own!) with a glass of beer in hand, nurturing the wood fire carefully to the right temperature then celebrate with the rest of your family and friends with a warm dip, basking in the glory of a job well done!
For folks who don't mind an unheated dip there are plenty of fine wild swimming spots, off wonderful local beaches nearby.
There is apple picking in season, but if that sounds like too much hard work, just take it easy in the meadow or in the massive hammock, big enough for the whole family.
The Link, a beautiful shared space for the use of yurt, cabin, hut and tipi guests, has books and games. There is even Wifi in the Link, if you really can't live off grid the whole time. Please note that the Wifi strength can be intermittent so isn't great for streaming, but is fine for checking emails etc.

Rainy days
The Link has a large room with a comfortable sofa, large table, underfloor heating and plenty of space, lots of games; wifi and an ipod hook up for music.
Other good rainy day options are:
The Eden Project (01726 811911) is a must if you have not seen it already

The Lost Gardens of Heligan (01726 845100) combined with a visit to Eden or the south coast make a good day out.
National Maritime Museum Falmouth (01326 313388) is worth a visit and can be combined with a day in and around Falmouth.
Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum St Ives (01736 796226) Both the galleries and St Ives are great for a day out. You can take the train from Par, change at St Earth and arrive in the heart of the town.
Don't miss Kneehigh, our local theater company, if they are playing nearby during your stay!
The Hall for Cornwall (01872 262466) is a good venue for local and national theater. You could combine an afternoon performance with a day in Truro with its excellent shops and beautiful Cathedral. Trains go from Par or Lostwithiel and pass through beautiful countryside on the way to Truro.
Other local theatre and dance performances are at Sterts open-air theater on Bodmin Moor or the beautiful Minack Theater which is further west. (Don't forget to wrap up and take something to sit on.)

Meet Suzi & Patrick
Lombard Farm, having previously been lovingly nurtured and developed by the Collin family, was taken over in January 2017 by Suzi & Patrick. They are now at the helm, with their 3 daughters Elizabeth, Katie and Charlotte, plus Buck, the Romanian rescue terrier!
Patrick is originally from Newport South Wales, the youngest of nine. An engineer at heart, he spent 13 years in the British Army, working for some time with the Army Air Corps then leaving to study for an MBA and to work in London. He has spent the last 20 years dreaming of leaving the city life behind him and has finally succeeded (well, not quite permanently yet!). Suzi was born in London’s East End and worked in the media industry before marrying Patrick and having their daughters. She’s hoping to rekindle her love of throwing pots on a wheel!
From the owners:
We are lucky to have the help of two great local people here at Lombard. Treve keeps the landscape looking in good shape and is helping us plant trees for future generations. Katie is our ever helpful extra pair of hands. Between Suzi & Katie, your space is lovingly prepared for your stay, in all weather! We feel lucky to have such great friends working with us.
Wildlife & the environment
Sustainability has always been at the heart of the project. Thousands of trees have been planted for both fuel and fruit. A fine vegetable patch and a potting shed have been built, a bore hole dug for the lovely fresh Lombard water, and two barns converted. More recently solar hot water for the farmhouse and guest’s showers and solar photovoltaic cells for electricity have been installed.
Lombard Farm is in a small hamlet surrounded by other small farms and beautiful rolling hills and is within the Fowey River Valley AONB.
The farm sits in seven acres which are organically farmed, so there is plenty of wildlife. You will usually hear or see rabbits, beautiful barn owls, hedgehogs, numerous birds, bats and, if you are lucky, a deer or two, (usually nibbling at the newly planted trees!)
The farm is about four miles from the south coast, so on still nights you can hear the sound of breaking waves on the coast and even ships navigating up the nearby river.

Your holiday at Lombard will be carbon neutral; wood burners for heating, pv for electricity, bore hole for water and solarhot water for showers and you can walk where you need to go! Suzi and Patrick also use eco friendly cleaning products and have full recycling facilities.

Our guests say...
Sophie
We had the perfect weekend staying at Meadow Hut! Idyllic setting, so quiet, lots of lovely walks and great fun getting the ferry into Fowey to explore. Suzi was so helpful, and literally a message away at all times. Although told, we didn't actually compute that the nearest supermarket is a half hour drive - so our 'nip' for milk on the first morning was longer than expected! Make sure you stop off on the way. Thank you so much :)
29/09/2023Sophie
Wonderful location, excellent base to explore the region of Cornwall including Fowey, Mevagissey and Looe to name a few. Suzi was an excellent and attentive host and the Meadow Hut was really comfortable, with the added bonus of a hot tub outside to enjoy some stargazing.
26/08/2022Kate
We stayed for three nights. The meadow hut was perfect, clean and well kitted out. Great location for us. We spent the days out walking around Fowey and evenings with BBQ and hot tub. Our hosts were really friendly and helpful.

We had such an incredible stay at the meadow hut, I cannot recommend it enough. We stayed during January for my birthday and despite the cold weather could not have enjoyed it more. Suzi, Patrick and Angela were very helpful providing information and quick at responding to any queries. The perfect romantic, secluded get-away.

Although we went to Meadow Hut in October and the weather was not great we had a really enjoyable stay.
25/10/2021Bruce
We had a wonderful 4 nights at Meadow Hut and enjoyed using the wood fired hot tub after walking during the day. Lovely welcome supplies of cider and juice and great to have the tub warm and ready on our first day. Great peaceful location and easy to get to Fowey, which was a lovely little town full of speciality shops and loads of eateries.

This was our second stay at Lombard Farm. A stunning location, beautiful surroundings and yet a short walk to Bodinnick and then a ferry trip over the bustling and beautiful Fowey. Amazing costal walks surrounding. The hut has everything you need for a short break away, a tiny bit well stocked kitchen, a surprisingly powerful shower and the compost toilet is really very manageable. The wood fired hot tub is a delight at the end of a long day walking, and very appreciated this being preheated before we arrived! Thank you, we wj be back I’m sure

Idyllic location with excellent instructions and communication before arrival, including much appreciated pre-warming of hot tub and cider in fridge!! five stars for cleanliness, pricing and facilities. The only things where I could suggest very minor improvements: Given the late check-in a pint of milk would have been nice, as a remote location and shops closed. The bed would benefit from a softer mattress topper as we found a little hard but still slept well. A later checkout would have been nice given the small amount of cleaning required maybe 10? Excellent and we will be back! Thank you so much

we had a truly amazing time. The Meadow Hut was magical in every way. amazing views, relaxing and of course with the added bonus of the hut tub which we used every evening. plenty to do in the surrounding area and great location if you like to paddleboard.

We stayed from Monday to Friday in the middle of a wet and windy May. Despite the weather, we had such an amazing week at Meadow Hut! The hut itself was clean, cosy and well presented and the hot tub was an absolute luxury that we made full use of. It is located in such a beautiful part of the world, with lots of stunning walks and an incredible coast line to explore. We dedicated a day travelling down to Lands End and had a lovely stroll around Falmouth on our way back. On a day where the weather was particularly bad, we spent a day at the Eden Project, an incredible place we would both highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying at Meadow Hut. We had the perfect week together and would love to return in the future!

We had amazing four nights in meadow hut, it was a lovely cosy and clean place to stay, and definitely made the most of the hot tub as well. Will definitely be coming back to Lombard farm!

Wonderful Shepard’s Hut in the Cornwall countryside. Beautiful Shepard’s hut with all that you need and the luxury of a hot tub too! Very tranquil spot but not far for sight seeing and the beach.

What a magical place. Beautiful hut, very clean and tidy with lovely finishing touches. Beautiful views. Amazing !

Great stay at this perfectly contained shepherds hut. We had everything we needed including a great hot shower and a compost toilet all inside the hut. The location was great with some lovely walks nearby. Especially enjoyed the walk from Lantic Bay car park down to Lantic Bay and carried on down the South West Coast walk. Also enjoyed the Hall Walk with a stop in Polruan. A lovely getaway!

It was absolutely perfect, it was faultless and I would 100% recommend and I have recommended already!

Beautiful stay in the Meadow Hut, perfect for two. Cosy indoors with all the essentials and plenty of space outdoors to utilise. Decorated nicely with a warm country feel with added extras of lights, candles and extra wood prep for the fires. Hot tub is an absolute bonus and a steal for the price per night has been the best value for money. :)

We had a brilliant 4 nights at Meadow hut at Lombard Farm. The hut was beautifully presented, clean and very welcoming. The vase of flowers on the table and the cider and apple juice were lovely touches. The hut overlooked the fields and was in a secluded spot but with the morning and evening sun . After a busy day walking and exploring it was great to return to this peaceful and pretty spot and sit in the wood fired hot tub watching the stars.

Our stay at the Meadow Hut was the best holiday me and my partner have had since we've been together. The scenery, location, weather and amenities of the Meadow Hut all made for a truly memorable holiday – we can't wait to go back already. To explore somewhere new during these difficult times was a breath of fresh air. The location was perfect, tucked away with our own private garden and meadow and of course, hot tub – we couldn't ask for more. The town of Fowey was only a short distance away together with the South West Coast Path which we explored each day. Our contacts at Lombard Farm kept in touch via mobile but they also respected our privacy – when we did contact them, they responded quickly and were so kind in their messages. This definitely added warmth to the entire holiday.

It’s was gorgeous. We had good privacy and the hot tub was wonderful. The farm was beautiful and there was plenty of wildlife to see and we even saw a few shooting stars from the hot tub. It was amazing and totally met our expectations.

Meadow hut was such an idyllic place to stay, and the owners of Lombard farm are so kind and accommodating. The site is largely private (but with the car park for the other sites below where the hut is) and although the other huts on site share a hot tub, the meadow hut has it's own private tub! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!

Stunning, peaceful and comfy - a real find :) Meadow views to wake up to, well designed and comfy cabin and a hot tub too, what's not to love? The local area is a delight with quiet lanes, boatyards and a ferry just a short walk away to the pretty fishing town of Fowey. We appreciated details like the welcome pack left by the hosts. The cabin itself was spotlessly clean and well-equipped if you wanted to cook outside. The tub just perfect for star-gazing after dark. Unspoilt and uncrowded wild beaches and coves a short drive away - Lantic Bay especially beautiful. A definite return!!!!

Very smooth self check-in and room was ready earlier than expected. Accommodation had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We met members of the team as we were exploring the site, all extremely friendly. The hot tub was a dream, particularly sitting in it at night watching the bats flying overhead and the stars. Also a great location and very clean. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

A lovely relaxing stay in the most amazing location! Totally secluded but not too from amenities and lots of activities close enough to have plenty to do. Was really delightful. The hut is small but perfectly formed. It had everything we needed included fridge, cooking appliances and a cafetiere for the slow holiday morning starts. Also, great en-suite bathroom with a very powerful warm shower, perfect for the end of a long day walking! The hot tub was also such a treat! Thank you for an amazing break away.

This was such an amazing way to get outdoors without waiting for summer. The hut was incredibly well designed. It was clean and bright and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a real treat. The farm had a very relaxing atmosphere. You could hear the birds and enjoy having so much space and a decent amount of private garden too. They had really thought about the little details. The bathroom inside the hut was a feat of engineering. Better than at home! Never seen anything like it glamping.

Went for a weekend away with my partner. It was beautiful laying out in the hot tub under the stars, and toasty staying in with the log burner when it was stormy. Went on a bike ride one day, and a walk by the coast the next. Felt everything was extremely comfortable, convenient, and cosy. A very easy short break!

The accommodation and setting was amazing and well thought out, with everything provided. The wood fuelled hot tub on cold windy evenings was luxury. We will certainly look at staying again, with great accommodation and lots more to explore locally!

Loved every minute. It was the most relaxing week we’ve had all year. The perfect get away from a busy city, with lots of things to discover and explore nearby. Highly recommend visiting the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. If you want something closer by, the walking tour of Fowey is very informative and great for getting your bearings and learning about the town’s history. It’s only a short walk (15-20 minutes) from Lombard Farm to the ferry.

We had a wonderful stay at Meadow Hut. Anna was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. The hut was impeccable and very thoughtfully resourced. We loved the hot tub and spent hours in there both morning and night. We have already recommended it to our friends. The communal area was great too.

We're super excited to be adding Suzi & Patrick's latest space. A wonderful addition to the collection. The feedback for Orchard Yurt should give you a good feel for what it will be like. Book a stay and be the first to write a review!

We had a beautiful few days in the Meadow Hut. A truly peaceful secluded paradise. We loved every minute of it. The perfect birthday trip :)

Wonderful location, excellent base to explore the region of Cornwall including Fowey, Mevagissey and Looe to name a few. Suzi was an excellent and attentive host and the Meadow Hut was really comfortable, with the added bonus of a hot tub outside to enjoy some stargazing.
