Take the bus or train this year and claim a free £75 gift card!
If you travel to a Canopy & Stars stay by public transport between now and the end of the year, we’ll give you a £75 voucher for use on a future stay.
We’re on a mission to reduce the impact of our holidays on the planet. Guest travel represents 70% of the emissions created by a Canopy & Stars holiday, so we’re exploring ways we can support our guests to choose low-carbon transport.
What this means for you is that a nice, relaxing journey by train or bus just got even better. No traffic jams, the chance to start a good book and £75 to use on your next big adventure. All you need to do is pick a place, or send us proof of purchase on your transport if you’ve already booked.
These are our places most accessible by public transport. All of them are no more than a 30-minute drive (owners can often arrange a taxi or collect you) from a train station. They also have a shop OR pub within a 1.5 mile walk.
Driving can be fun, there’s no getting around it, it’s great to hit the open road – but with more and more greener options available, it’s increasingly hard to justify. Especially when you come across figures like: ‘rail travel emits 10 times less carbon than car travel’ – and don’t get us started on those figures vs planes. So, the real question is, why should you – and more importantly, how?
Two guests, Teresa and David, spoke about their experience travelling to not just any treehouse, but Puckshipton Treehouse, where creator James encourages guests to visit via public transport if they can. The question is, what’s it actually like to stay there?
Here are 15 amazing places you can head to within our national parks, that are accessible via public transport. And unlike driving, when you take public transport, you can enjoy the journey as you go!
Taking the train reminds you of the simple joy of movement – taking the time to watch the scenery whip past, turning the journey into part of the holiday, not just a hurdle either side of it. So, we came up with a list of our spaces you can reach from Birmingham on the train.
We’re always extolling the virtues of travelling sustainably, so we decided to put our money where our mouth is and see if it was possible to escape the city to a tranquil cabin in nature, making the most of the government’s £2 bus offer.
Here's a round-up of our spaces that are easily reached by train – with at most a 30-minute taxi ride on the other side. Whether you’re looking to reduce your footprint or are simply in love with the process of travel like we are, turn your trip into more of an adventure, with our glamping places to get to by train from London!
