Who we are
We’re an independent travel company based in Bristol, who love getting outdoors to find unique places to stay in nature. Especially shepherd’s huts unlike any other. Beyond that, just like a Scottish glen, we’ve got hidden depths. We’re employee-owned, B-Corp certified and have a charitable trust dedicated to supporting environmental causes.
Our shepherd's hut holidays in Scotland
Whether you’re after utter tranquillity on the Isle of Skye, or outdoor adventures in the Cairngorms, we’ve got the hut for you. A shepherd’s hut holiday in Scotland is a chance to escape to the wild, live the simple life and reconnect with nature in cosy, quirky surroundings. In our collection, you’ll find epic sea views, resident donkeys and even a horsebox sauna. The setting of one of our huts is so breathtakingly romantic, the owners got married by the river you can see from the deck.
We care about responsible travel
Since we were founded in 2010, we’ve been dedicated to making Canopy & Stars a force for good in the glamping industry. We’ve set ourselves some ambitious goals including becoming net zero by 2030, we’ve capped the number of places we work with in over-touristed areas, and we’re improving our access to nature for those with disabilities, and disadvantaged young people. What to do in Scotland
Hike in the national parks, visit scenic lochs and, when night falls, marvel at the vast blanket of stars in the dark skies above. Scotland is a heady mix of spectacular natural beauty, outdoor adventures, history and heritage. You can be skiing in winter, sailing and cycling in the summer, and spotting incredible wildlife all year round, from white-tailed eagles and red squirrels to puffins and orcas. If you’re really lucky, you might get to witness the dazzling display of the Aurora Borealis while you’re there.
