Who we are
From seven places and a big idea in 2010, we’ve grown to become a leading voice in outdoor holidays. We want to help people live a life more wild through the most incredible glamping getaways and experiences in nature. We’re employee-owned with B-Corp certification and a charitable trust that supports environmental causes. Find out more about Canopy & Stars.
Our shepherd's hut holidays in The Lake District
Whether you like the simple life or the finer things, we’ve got the shepherd’s hut for you. Up in the Northern Fells, you’ll find a rustic experience in handcrafted huts in a woodland clearing at Blencathra camp. Explore the wilderness, try your hand at traditional campfire cooking then sink tired limbs into feather down duvets and cosy blankets for a long, deep sleep.
What to do in The Lake District
Epic outdoors adventures, fuelled by Kendal mint cake, are the order of the day in the Lake District. Stop to take in waterfalls, castles and picturesque villages along the way, and throw in a wild swim if you’re feeling daring. When you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll find everything from quirky cafes and gastro pubs to Michelin-starred dining in the Lakes, particularly in bustling towns like Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick.
We care about responsible travel
The glamping sector still has progress to make when it comes to sustainability and at Canopy & Stars we are dedicated to using our business as a force for good. We’re a certified B-Corp with the highest score of any travel company in the world and a goal of becoming net zero by 2030. If you’re interested, you can find out more in our 2023 impact report.
