Glamping in the Scottish Borders

North of Northumberland and south of Edinburgh, the rolling landscape of The Scottish Borders is wild, steeped in history and easy to reach by road and rail. Our glamping spaces are dotted among the lochs, castles and mills, giving you a front row seat to the dramatic countryside and abundant wildlife. Visit the picturesque coastline, explore the vibrant streets of Scotland’s capital, or get the adrenaline pumping on scenic hikes and bike trails. Then kick back with a local whiskey on the deck and drink in the views.

About glamping in the Scottish Borders

Who we are We’re not sure what our collective noun would be (answers on a postcard) but at Canopy & Stars, we’re a cheerful group of nature-lovers who want to help as many people as possible to live a life more wild. With a few added luxuries in the form of hot tubs, pizza ovens, hammocks and king-sized beds. This isn’t camping after all. With over 800 unique and gorgeous places in our collection, you can stay with us from the Isle of Skye, to the south of Spain.

Our glamping holidays in the Scottish Borders The skies look bigger in Scotland and there’s no better way to gaze in wonder at those epic vistas than from one of our glamping pads in the Scottish Borders. Take in the views from the hot tub of an artisan Roulotte (that’s a French Romany caravan), stargaze from the deck of a secluded treehouse or get your sketchbook out and capture the still beauty of your own private lochan, sat in 1600 acres of peaceful farmland.

We care about responsible travel We’re on a mission to be a force for good within the glamping sector but we can’t achieve that all by ourselves. We’ve set a goal to be carbon neutral by 2030 and we’re using partnerships and collaborations to encourage our owners and guests to build, operate and travel sustainably. We also support environmental organisations through our charitable trust. You can find out more in our latest impact report.

What to do in the Scottish Borders You’ll find a seductive blend of history, nature and outdoor activities in the Borders. Go for long hikes along the Southern Upland Way, fish in the rivers and horse ride in the hills before refuelling with some traditional Borders lamb or a slice of Selkirk Bannock (a renowned fruit loaf) at one of the many pubs and eateries. Step back in time at ancient abbeys like Melrose Abbey or explore historic houses like Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott. If you’re into golf, some of Scotland's finest courses are on the doorstep.
