Glamping in Portugal

Surfing beaches, UNESCO World Heritage sites, charming hilltop villages and a delicious side order of pastel de nata – Portugal gives main character energy as a holiday destination.  You’ll melt seamlessly into the landscape in one of our Portuguese glamping spaces where the pace of life is slow and the local wine was made to be sipped on a sun-dappled deck with an epic view. Hide your devices and see how long it takes you to lose track of the days as you swim, hike, read, stargaze and siesta.

Why choose glamping in Portugal?

The hot tubs, campfires and wildflower meadows are waiting to welcome you to a different kind of holiday in Portugal. At our glamping spaces wild outdoor adventures wait beyond the front door, the blissful peace soothes frazzled nerves and vast skies twinkle with distant stars at night. We know that the memories you’ll make are uniquely special because we’ve visited, inspected and fallen in love with each cabin, treehouse and safari tent in our Portuguese collection.

About glamping in Portugal

What should I do on a glamping holiday in Portugal?

Grab a towel and head to one of the surfing beaches on the Atlantic coast, where you’ll find golden sands, towering cliffs and laid back beach bars. Or head inland and hike the old trails that criss-cross through national parks where you might spot eagles, wild boar and foxes. Dip in and out of civilisation with visits to traditional villages or a colourful city like Porto, famous for its wine and riverside charm.

What’s our expertise?

Our HQ in Bristol is quite a long way from Portugal but that doesn’t stop us from finding the most magical glamping spaces in the region. Since we were founded in 2010, we’ve made it our mission to bring you incredible experiences in nature and we only work with passionate owners who pour love and creativity into their spaces. As a high-scoring B Corp we’re on a mission to be a force for good within the travel industry. You can read about our social and environmental goals in our latest impact report.

What is the best time to visit Portugal?

Portugal is as glorious off-peak as it is in the height of summer. Late Spring is a great time to visit when the weather is beach-worthy, seasonal cafés and restaurants reopen and towns buzz with festivals and carnivals. Early autumn is the perfect time to catch the last of the sun and take advantage of cooler temperatures to hike in the hills and explore cultural hotspots like Lisbon. Some of our Portuguese glamping places are only available between April and September so always check the calendar on the place page.

How do I find the right place for me?

Whether you want hillside seclusion or beach proximity, we’ve got the right place for you.  Our glamping spaces in Portugal range from safari tents in the mountains with a surprise skatepark, to a cool yurt village near the sea and a converted windmill under vast starry skies. There’s a wealth of information on each place page on our website and if you need extra help, our friendly Guest Experience Team are at the end of the phone ready to share their glamping expertise.
