About Canopy & Stars
More from Sawday's
If you’ve stumbled across the name ‘Symonds Yat’ you might be wondering what makes it so special. Grab a cuppa and take a seat. It’ll take a while to answer when there’s so much going for this idyllic spot in the Wye Valley. Symonds Yat Rock towers 120 metres above the Wye with spectacular views, while wild peregrines circle in the air above and down below, a historic hand pulled ferry pulls people across the river from The Saracen’s Head pub. There are watersports galore and the Forest of Dean on the doorstep to explore. Best of all, the surrounding countryside is dotted with incredible Canopy & Stars glamping spaces that have to be seen to be believed.
Snuggled up against the Welsh border, Herefordshire is an enticing patchwork of wild landscapes, bustling market towns, castles and blossom-filled orchards. All of this while being conveniently accessible from Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham – by road and by rail. Glamping is the best way to immerse yourself in the verdant river meadows, ancient woodlands and rolling hills and we’ve made sure that the spaces in our Herefordshire collection are unique, quirky and packed with character.
Despite its popularity, and its well-known attractions, it still manages to have its hidden corners and secret spots, so without further ado, here’s our favourites.
Follow along with us as we take on Herefordshire, going in spiral from Hereford to Ross-on-Wye, to Bromyard, to Leominster to Hay-on-Wye. You could take these places on in any order, but this imagines you starting in the ‘capital’ of Herefordshire first.
