Rémi, the owner, is a master - he’s poured into Châteaux dans les Arbres all his skill, passion and eight years of experience building treehouses over the length and breadth of France. The four at Châteaux dans les Arbres are designed to echo the architecture of the traditional French châteaux or country house. They’ve been a year in the making at the headquarters of Nid Perché, Rémi’s company down the road, and are born from a desire to create unusual and luxurious spaces to stay, all while preserving the environment. With the rolling French countryside of the Dordogne surrounding you, a chef on hand if you need one, panoramic views, and the rustle of the wind in the trees - you’re in for a unique, and amazing, stay.

Please note the swimming pool is only open early May to late September. Please supervise your children when swimming.

Outdoors and active
There are lovely walks around. There are plenty of active things to do out and about in this beautiful, rural part of the world. Places to visit
Guided tours can be organised of the local region focusing on culture, cuisine, or wine tasting. Discover the medieval cities of Monpazier, Beaumont, Issigeac, Limeuil and explore the historic towns and villages of the region for yourself. There are many fascinating châteaux and abbeys locally, all worth a visit... look for Monbazillac, Biron, Castelnaud, les Milandes, and Hautefort to begin with (sound familiar? The treehouses are named after famous local châteaux.)
Parks and gardens nearby include the famous Jardins de l'Imaginaire and the impressive topiary of the Jardins de Marqueyssac.
Don't miss a trip to the vineyards of Bergerac - visit Monbazillac ou Pécharmant and taste the fine wine of the region.

The Puybéton estate is set in eleven hectares of park and woodland. A private house, the three treehouses constructed on the site of an old château, and the floating cabin are the only accommodation on the estate.
Rémi has been building treehouses with his company Nid Perché for eight years. These treehouses and the floating cabins are the result of his desire to create beautiful, unusual places to stay whilst taking care of the environment.
Wildlife & environment
Rémi uses locally-sourced, untreated wood to build his treehouses and cabins and these have a very low carbon footprint - they were put together just down the road at Nid Perché. The insulation is made of wood fibres, and waste water is treated using a microfiltration system. Ecological cleaning products are provided and recycling facilities are available.
In terms of wildlife, the estate is peacefully populated with deer, wild boar, birds, squirrels and rabbits, and you can walk amongst the ancient oak, chestnut, hornbeam, ash, and walnut trees...

Our guests say...
Jo
We stayed for three nights with our 15-year-old son and it’s safe to say that the treehouse even impressed a teenager! Wonderful place for a family holiday and a great space for making memories and sharing time together. He loved the little turret bedroom and the hot tub. Everything was meticulously built to an incredibly high standard, like a little luxury hotel in the trees!

Excellent from start to finish. The Tree house was amazing. Clean, comfortable beds, quirky character and beautiful sunset views. We had requested the Tree house be decorated for my mother's 60th Birthday, on arrival there was lots of balloons hung up, a bottle of champagne and macaroons. It was perfect. We ordered food one evening which was delicious and we loved that you pull up the breakfast baskets in the morning.

We totally loved our stay at the treehouse! We particularly enjoyed the great pool and the whirlpool. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything is functioning.

We had an amazing time! The tree houses are well built & designed. Kids loved the hot tub & the space. Staff really lovely, with one lady who spoke excellent English

Our week at Hautefort was amazing. The treehouse was magical and although a sofa would have helped with the indoor relaxing we do apppreciate that there isn't the space for this. The location was superb, 35 minutes from Bergerac airport and agreat base to explore from. We went out every morning and returned early afternoon to head down to the pool for a good few hours before heading back to the tree house to make dinner and then relax in the hot tub with a glass or two of wine. Absolutely perfect!

"Yes. The treehouse - very good quality of build, & love the design. The whole set up of the place was great - very well done. The hot tub and swimming pool were really good. Quiet & private."

Very peaceful location in beautiful treetop scenery. Remarkably designed treehouse, which myself and family thoroughly enjoyed. Very comfortable beds, pillows and fresh, clean, soft bed linen. Spacious showers and bathroom. The treehouse provided everything one could possibly need- fully equipped kitchen, dining areas, towels and bathrobes. Excellent, heated pool just a short walk down the pathway with beautiful decking and quality sun loungers. Our private hot tub facility was such a treat and we also enjoyed the well stocked selection of excellent wines purchasable at a reasonable price from reception. The children loved pulling the breakfast basket up on the pulley each morning and the lady on reception was very welcoming.
