You don’t need a ring on it to celebrate your relationship. In the first flush of love, every anniversary counts whether it’s six months, a year or more. Whatever you’re celebrating (first meeting, first date, first… ahem…), browse our romantic breaks collection to find a wild escape for two. Somewhere to make heady, rose-tinted memories as you enjoy a busy schedule of star gazing, hammock lolling, hot tub soaking, scenery gazing and campfire chatting. Shared experiences bring couples closer together so we practically guarantee that you’ll use the journey home to start planning your next loved-up adventure. Take a look at our couples glamping places.
Within minutes of arriving at Willow the Wisp, you and your partner will be relaxing on the deck with a glass of bubbles in hand, while you heat up the naked flame bathtub and the BBQ fire pit. Swaddled in a tranquil Sussex coppice, the cabin is part of the Downash Wood site next to Bewl Water reservoir which might as well have been designed with romantic strolls in mind. Inside, the simple cabin is cute and cosy with a deliciously comfy bed, fully-equipped kitchen and shower room. Guest, Kelly who visited for her anniversary said “It was absolutely beautiful. The cabin had everything we needed, a fantastic hot tub and tranquil surroundings: we didn’t want to leave
You might be on a Devon farm but with its pale wood interior and huge glass windows and doors, Holly Water Cabin exudes laid back Scandi chic. The gorgeous copper bath on the deck will quickly become your happy place in which to soak, chat, stargaze and toast your anniversary. The land is teeming with wildlife so you might spot deer, kingfishers, otters and barn owls as you stroll across the fields and paddle in the stream. Guest Allison said “The hosts were really helpful and had thought of everything including a welcome card wishing us a happy anniversary. I can’t recommend Holly Water Cabin highly enough.”
With giant twin tubs, you and your date can stretch out in comfort, harmony and total privacy as you take in mesmerising views of Devon hills and the odd grazing sheep. With a bath each, there’s no need to disagree about the water temperature either. The open-plan cottage is light and subtly modernised but when night falls, love birds can swing from the rafters in a quirky, elevated bed that’s literally suspended from the ceiling (just be careful on the ladder after a celebratory drink or two). Guest Henry described The Old Piggery as “cosy and relaxing” and a “great location to visit south Devon and Dartmoor… we had quite a few cream teas!”
When is a yurt not a yurt? When it’s flooded with natural light thanks to huge picture windows that stretch across the front. This luxurious, uplifting space in Herefordshire (with a king size bed) sets the scene for wild romance, particularly when you have the chance to stargaze in the heart of a dark sky reserve. Pumla’s outdoor tub and panoramic views are the cherry on top. Natalie stayed in February 2023 for an anniversary celebration and confirmed that “the outside bath was amazing at night under the stars”. She says “we walked over to the Bulls Head for lunch as recommended, which was amazing. The hosts were lovely and friendly and the yurt comfy and cosy, exactly as described with little treats provided.”
Just an hour from the capital but a world away from busy crowds, Coddiwomple Cabin in Downash Wood is a peaceful woodland retreat where couples can ditch the digital distractions and focus on each other. With a light, stylish wooden interior and a spacious outdoor deck with a hot tub, you can occupy yourselves for days with the serious business of relaxation. Chloe says “We came here for myself and my boyfriend’s anniversary and it was absolutely gorgeous… We also paid for the rose petals on the bed, marshmallows and a bottle of Prosecco which was there when we arrived… the view of the trees in the morning out of the big window was so lovely I could have stayed there all day”.
When a guest (Ben in this case) says he “could not think of a better way to spend our anniversary” – you know you’re in for a treat. Little Poro shepherd’s hut in Devon is a labour of love by owner Val and her enthusiasm shines through in every detail, from the woodland walkway lit by fairy lights, to the sheltered outdoor kitchen and the unique items collected on her travels – you’ll spot antler lamps from Lapland and Icelandic sheepskin rugs! Gorgeous, rustic Little Poro has that extra sprinkle of magic that will make your celebration even more special. Cuddle up in the hot tub overlooking the fields, lounge on the sofas or press your own juice in the Cider House if you visit in the right season. Guest Clare, said “we chose Little Poro as we love camping but wanted something a little more romantic and special. We were not disappointed. Little Poro was absolute paradise”.
