Our favourite treehouse stays in Cornwall

Remember when you were little and the best adventures happened when you climbed a tree? All of a sudden, you were a pirate, sailor and explorer all in one. Staying in a treehouse in Cornwall is basically the adult version of that. That heady feeling of having nothing to worry about, apart from working out how to have the most fun, comes whooshing back. Escape adulthood in an eco treepod, a luxurious treehouse complete with holistic therapy treatments, or a back-to-nature cabin in the canopy. Cornwall brings the goods for a memorable time; waves, sand and (quite often) sun.

1. Chui Treehouse

Hosts James and Alex have created a beautiful escape in nature - a treehouse in Cornwall that's the rival of anything we’ve seen. The big, wide windows of Chui Treehouse let the outside in, so you’ll be supping your morning coffee in the canopy in any weather. It’s a quiet patch of the world and you’re not likely to see a soul while you stay and even the beaches nearby are relatively uncrowded. Walk or cycle to the white sands of Chapel Porth or the pebbles of Trevallas Porth and discover a couple of the county’s hidden gems. A perfect day could include a holistic treatment from owner Alex and her team of therapists or a walk through Wrinklers Wood to The Miners Inn for a spot of lunch. Afternoon then turns gently into evening and hot tub time in the orchard.

2. Lost Meadow Treepod

The taste of adventure is in the air the moment you see Lost Meadow Treepod, which hangs in the more bizarre end of the treehouses in Cornwall spectrum. The treepod is a simple affair, with two single beds, but you’ll be spending all your time in the woods anyway, with a fire pit, loo and water point below you. Catch your dinner in the river then roast it on the fire pit moments from your bed in the trees. It’s the stuff of children’s storybooks. Any downtime in the pod can be spent gazing out the window nature spotting. Dusk and dawn bring roe deer while badgers roam these woods at night and you can hear the trill of tawny owls.

3. Simba

Simba, is a treehouse in Cornwall for those who like a thick slice of luxury with their nature. Mornings feel better when they come with sunlight streaming through the skylight window and tea with treetop views. It’s one of the common glamping features we love most. Once you’ve dragged yourself away from this lush spot, Cornwall is ready to please. Hike the coastal path and delight in epic sea views, drop down to the beaches then dip a toe in the water. Take the plunge if you’re feeling brave. If you’re needing some serious restoration, owner Alex and her team of therapists can offer massage, yoga, meditation or reiki to truly relax your mind and body.
