Overview
Perched on the edge of a six-acre, stream-fed lake – the view from Otby Boathouse’s deck overlooks everything from the rippling water to the surrounding hillside that frames the lake. Any which way you look, there’s wild space to find.
During the day, the only company you’ll see will be the fishermen on the lake, with whom you’ll share the water, and possibly the owner out farming the land – that is until the evening, when the area’s all yours. Spend a while floating on the lake in the rowboat or relax in the sauna.
Inside, it’s so insulated, you won’t get phone signal, so enjoy feeling toasty and distraction free as you laze about admiring views from the bed or gazing out the window whilst you warm your toes by the wood burner.
They say the most important thing about a place is location, location, location and Otby delivers. Though the cabin just behind you is off limits, you’ve plenty of farmland to explore, the whole of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape, the coast in easy reach – and if all else fails, go nowhere at all but your sauna – where you won’t sweat a drop about never leaving the site, but maybe a little from the heat.

Meet your hosts
Meet Neil, Frank and Natalie
Otby House Farm is a working mixed farm on the Lincolnshire Wolds and is currently farmed by Neil alongside son Frank and daughter Natalie. The family started farming here in the 1950's after their Grandpa purchased the farm.
After moving away to gain experience in various different fields Natalie and Frank have returned home to ensure the succession of Otby House Farm. As with most farms these days, diversification is the name of the game, so whilst Frank and Neil carry out the majority of the farming business, Natalie manages the many diversification projects going on at Otby.
The Boat House was in need of renovation, and they’ve talked about this project around the breakfast table for many years. They are so excited to finally be able to share their amazing space and allow people to experience it.
Wildlife and Environment
The building has been designed to operate on solar energy with the roof being covered with 19 solar panels and battery storage. Please keep this in mind and only pack electrical essentials for your stay.
The building itself has been so well insulated that you can't get a phone signal until you step outside which should keep guests toasty warm, and switched off from the outside world!
On the farm they are continually taking up environmental projects to preserve their corner of the Lincolnshire Wolds. At the moment, they are about to engage in the planting of some new woodlands that will be visible from the Boat House.

We had a brilliant stay at Otby Lake Boat House. The views across the lake from the cabin and sauna are stunning, and we were surrounded by the sounds of nature the whole time. It was great fun to get out on the lake in the rowing boat and the cabin is so cosy to be in when the sun goes down.
