Overview
The long wagon of Ragnarr is a beautiful, simple space on its own, but when you start to look around your corner of Spring Park, you find it’s the centre of a brilliant adventure. You can BBQ on the deck and be entertained by the starlit skies, soak in the hot tub after a day out exploring or stage a private screening of your favourite movie in the cinema shed. On the inside, Ragnarr makes the most of every inch of space. The well-equipped kitchen is at one end and has everything you need if you don’t fancy cooking outdoors, while the king-sized bed folds neatly up into the wall to reveal a table and sofa seating. The sleigh bed is in a small separate room just off the main living area and the wood-burner is central, to fill the whole space with warmth and a gentle glow.
Owners Kitty and Paddy now have eight various vehicles and structures hidden around their property, so you might meet other guests from time to time, but Ragnarr is in its own secluded area of Spring Park and the space, hot tub and cinema shed are just for you. Spring Park itself is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so just by sitting quietly outside Ragnarr, you’ll see birds, bats and possibly even deer wandering through the gardens. If you fancy more active days to earn your hot tub time, then Dartmoor and Bodmin are nearby and you can reach both coasts in no time. The 18-mile, largely traffic-free Camel Trail is great for exploring the countryside especially for beginner cyclists and if all that exercise works up an appetite, there are country pubs all round to fuel you back up. The Springer Spaniel, walkable from Ragnarr, is a favourite of Kitty and Paddy.

Had the loveliest time at Ragnarr shepherd's hut. I proposed to my partner and it was the perfect location!
20/01/2025Caitlin
Our second stay at ragnarr, and it was as magical as the first time, superb account fantastic hot-tub and the cinema room is such a fantastic add-on
28/10/2024Aaron
We had a brilliant time at Ragnarr. The cabin was really cosy and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The shower was great and the bed was really comfy, plus the hot tub and movie room were a real bonus. Great location for day trips to Padstow, Looe and more.
15/07/2024Rachel
We had a wonderful 2 night stay for my birthday. Apart from the weather it was great. The hot tub & cinema room were lovely touches. Great location, lovely pub down the road. We will definitely be back!
08/07/2024Abbi
The most wonderful stay at Ragnarr. So peaceful and definitely the perfect setting for a weekend reset. The wood fired hot tub is a special highlight and was needed after battling the hilly coast line at Boscastle. Plenty in the area to see and do, within driving distance. Cannot fault one thing! Will always recommend Speing Park to anyone who’ll listen!
21/06/2024Aliysa
Our third year in a row staying at the same time. Really enjoy the peace and quietness there.
31/05/2024Neil

20/05/2024Calum
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Such a beautiful location - idyllic!
17/05/2024Jamie
We had a great stay here for our honeymoon. The hut is great, the grounds make it feel really private which is lovely.
26/02/2024Will
The stay was great. We wanted somewhere peaceful to unwind and relax and celebrate just the two of us and this place was perfect.
14/02/2024Ada
I booked the Ragnarr hut at Spring Parc, as a birthday present for my wife, also it was over fireworks weekend, and our dog absolutely hates them, so we thought we'd try and go as remote as possible. The stay was fantastic, the accommodation had everything we needed and we felt completely isolated. The hosts were always on the end of the phone if we needed them, but apart from that we were left in peace. The sleeping hut was really well designed with a space saving pull down bed and a well equipped kitchen. The adjoining cinema room was really cosy and there's a good selection of DVDs to entertain you, I also plugged in my laptop to watch Sky so I didn't miss the football! There's a couple of supermarkets about 15 mins drive which was handy, the Springer Spaniel pub is a 20 min walk (or 3 min drive) and we were well placed for loads of nice walks across Dartmoor and Bodmin. Took a while to get the hot tub going, but was worth it when we did. Would definitely like to stay here again.
03/11/2023Rob
This was place was incredible, it’s tranquil and romantic takes you back and reminds you how important it is to put the phone down and be together
13/09/2023Natalie
We had the most amazing stay at Ragnarr. It was close to tourist spots but equally felt off grid so we could enjoy the best of both worlds. We sat outside and enjoyed the hot tub and listening to the birds, watching day turn into night. We also made use of our private cinema room, which was very well presented. The shephards hut it's self was well equipped, very clean and inviting. We couldn't recommend it enough.
30/08/2023Clair
Ragnarr is perfect for a weekend getaway. Our small family of 4 plus a little dog had loads of room to play, relax and entertain. We watched the BFG in the secret cinema, spent 2 evenings in the hot tub and cooked pizzas in the oven. A lovely space!
04/08/2023Craig, Canopy & Stars
We had a wonderful stay at Ragnarr, we didn't want to leave. It really was a little slice of heaven. There were also a number of thoughtful touches, from the homemade cake and drinks to the basic kitchen cooking items which was brilliant.
07/07/2023Becky
My wife, dog and I stayed at Ragnarr for two nights over half term. We used the hot tub on both nights which was incredible. It’s secluded enough to feel private but still next to the other huts. The hosts were great and communicated well over text, we didn’t need their assistance other than to confirm check in times. The hut itself is really beautiful, it’s big, clean and perfect for our getaway. We went for some really pretty walks nearby, stopped for a beer at the Springer Spaniel pub and also had time to watch a dvd in the cinema room. There was everything we needed.
31/05/2023Abby
We very much enjoyed our stay at Ragnarr. We didn't realise just how secluded it was until we arrived. It was lovely having our own space and having the bonus cinema shed to laze in and watch movies. We made full use of the BBQ and hot tub and very much would love to come back again some time ! Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful place.
03/05/2023Sarah
Spring park is magical. We stayed in a Shepherds hut with a separate cinema room and bedroom for our toddler. Lots of private space to explore and the surroundings are teeming with wildlife. You can see the rabbits and bats from the hot tub at night. Our little one loved exploring the lanes and the Launceston castle. The locals were very friendly and there's lots of great local amenities such as a village pub and farm shop/cafe just up the road. It really has everything you need.
28/04/2023Hannah
Perfect! The shepherds hut had everything we could possibly need and was such a well thought out space! The weather was pretty miserable but we felt completely separate and protected from the storms outside, it was so warm and comfortable in Ragnarr. We loved the cinema shed, such a fantastic idea and we couldn’t believe the value for money having that included as well as the shepherds hut. It was the perfect combination of wild & adventurous and comfortable and home like.
10/04/2023Chloe
We have previously stayed at Spring Park but haven't returned in several years; our honeymoon with our toddler provided a great opportunity to return and we loved Ragnarr and the cinema shed. It was a lovely base for us to explore parts of Devon and Cornwall which we don't normally get a chance to see; even though we live in Cornwall!
20/02/2023Rose
The most beautiful place I could have chosen for my first solo trip away! Ragnarr is cosy and blissful. A perfect place for a reset and to unwind, whether that’s in the wood fired hot tub, watching your favourite film in the cinema room or laying in bed with the log fire going and a good book!
13/02/2023Aliysa
Way beyond expectations. Set in the most idyllic spot with everything from home comforts to learning a few things by yourself. Our Shepard’s hut was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Having a double shower and full sized kitchen blew our minds. Getting the wood burner flowing filled the cabin with heat and ambience. Wood fired hot tub takes around two hours to warm up with plenty of logs supplied and now I’ve tried one, I want one! You have your own little plot with a cinema shed should you wish to watch one of the many DVD’s or the usb. Even tho we didn’t use this room just having the option was great. Paddy and Kitty have created something very special and we will most definitely return in the future. Thank you!
18/01/2023Lisa
This was my second time staying at Ragnarr and I'll definitely be back again. Kitty and Paddy have thought of everything you might need for your stay and the hut is cosy and snug with its lovely log burner. We especially loved sitting out in the wood-fired hot tub and looking up at the stars!
09/12/2022Sophie, Canopy & Stars
We had a lovely stay in Ragnarr. We loved the privacy and the facilities and the bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival were very thoughtful. We loved the cinema room and hot tub.
19/09/2022Grace
Absolutely wonderful place to stay, we could happily of moved in. Spotlessly clean and very cosy. The kitchen was modern with everything we needed. The whole place was decorated simply but with love and taste. It was warm and welcoming. Lovely double shower with different power settings. Nice enclosed garden that made it feel very private and the dog was happy to run around. The cinema shed was a nice touch and we enjoyed our cosy movie nights surrounded by fairy lights. The hot tub was wonderful and easy to use. A lovely, relaxing treat at the end of the day…spent a while just looking at the stars and listening to the owls, we even saw bats and heard hedgehogs snuffling around. Would definitely recommend Ragnarr to family and friends…I already have done! Would definitely stay there again, or maybe try one of Spring Parks other beautiful accommodations.
09/09/2022Vicky
We had a truly relaxing break. We stayed only for two nights and we loved the peace and quiet of the surroundings. We throughly enjoyed the stargazing from the hot tub and we took a stroll to the springer spaniel pub for dinner it was really pleasant walk and delicious food! We also took our paddle boards and drove to Roadford lake it was great fun! Most of the times we just read books and relaxed which we loved
31/08/2022Alex
Fantastic location, very quiet. Not overlooked at all and very private. Space itself is clean and spacious. Fully stocked kitchen. Charcoal BBQ was great. Wood fired tub was excellent! Filled it up one night and was still warm next morning. Host was very kind and informative. Would 100% come back
18/07/2022Paul
We had a fantastic stay at Ragnarr, it was such a beautiful, quiet and scenic location. The hut itself was brilliantly equipped and we loved the cinema room which was perfect for a rainy afternoon. Sunny afternoons were spent relaxing on the decking where all you could hear were the birds. Such a tranquil and relaxing place. Lots of amenities nearby and the hut had everything you could need. We would definitely recommend to friends and family. We just wished we could have stayed for longer.
07/04/2022Amy
My family stayed in Ragnarr and the Old Potting Shed for my 30th Birthday weekend.
18/03/2022Vicky
Glorious. Gorgeous little cabin and cinema space. Really needed escape, peaceful and relaxing.
07/11/2021Kate
Our stay at Ragnar was brilliant. We had everything we needed and the hosts even left us a welcome card and gifts which was a lovely touch! The wood fired hot tub worked brilliantly and the cinema room was an added bonus.
20/10/2021Kirsty
We really enjoyed our time at ragnarr, it was peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. The hot tub was great, the cinema room we got plenty of use from and the facility's were all perfect.
17/09/2021Tiffany
Absolutely brilliant. Could not fault it in anyway. The space was perfect for our little family. My 3 year old loved her own little room and being able to watch paw patrol on the projector in the cabin was an added bonus! Bed was comfortable, kitchen fully equipped, bed was easy to put up and get down, plenty of space outside to play and felt very private, fire easy to light light plenty of wood available, the bathroom was spacious and the water pressure was great. The hot tub was perfect to sit in on a clear night and admire the stars. It was my 30th birthday weekend and I honestly couldn't have wanted more. The hosts were very welcoming and we even had some cake waiting for us on arrival. Worth every penny.
03/09/2021Lizzie
It was lovely. The owners are so welcoming and accommodating, the fresh flowers upon arrival were absolutely lovey and the space itself has everything you could possibly need and feels really private and peaceful.
30/08/2021Scarlett
Arriving at the location we were pleased to see that the two rentals we had booked were side by side, but that each was completely private as each one was nestled in its own delightful garden, surrounded by mature trees and dappled in evening sunshine. The location is delightful, enchanting and peaceful. Our two accommodations were very different - one with a converted railway carriage with en-suite and a separate spacious ‘cottage’ with comfortable sofa, lovely kitchen and large bathroom. The other a beautiful Shepard’s hut, with a double drop down bed and a separate single bedroom, shower room and fully fitted kitchen, as well as a movie hut, with sofa and a wide range of DVDs - perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Cornwall. Both locations have a lovely wood fired hot tub, which we used most days regardless of the weather. All in all a most relaxing and charming place to stay which we would highly recommend.
16/08/2021Sukey
We really enjoyed it, it was so peaceful and had a lovely secluded feel to it. The shepherds hut was decorated beautifully - Loved the interior and the style of it. We stayed for 3 nights and explored a little around the area. We enjoyed a meal at the Springer spaniel pub and ate at our shepherds hut. We would have loved to look at the other places on the site, all looked so unique and amazing.

We loved our stay at Ragnarr. Hot tub and cinema room were wonderful. We’ll definitely stay again! Thank you

We really love this place and it was our 4th year visiting. I'm not sure if Covid has taken its toll but it seems to have lost a bit of its magic, some amenities felt tired and damaged and some of the little extras and personal feeling have vanished. It was still a great set up and fun to get out to the beach in this weather.

What a beautiful place! Spacious, excellent facilities and great quality of finish on everything. We had a great week!

We stayed at Ragnarr for our honeymoon. The place was tranquil and idyllic. We took our toddler which worked out really well, the bedroom is just the right size a d the cinema room had a fab selection of dvds. The kitchen was well equipped with lots of pretty plates and quirky wine glasses, giving it an extra special feel. The hot tub took a while for us to work out and get to the right temperature but when it did, we really enjoyed it! The weather was very wet, but a good time was had by all!!

The places was as described with lovely quirky features throughout. We had terrible weather for our trip but Ragnar was so cosy and felt like home.

We had a short but very sweet stay at Ragnarr. We were travelling as a couple, young baby and dog. The railway hut cabin was a perfect and relaxing base for us. All the facilities were well thought out. We especially liked the eco friendly products available, local drinks left for us and token home cooked cakes!

We had the most amazing stay! The wagon was easy to find and everything was to a high standard, including the hot tub which we loved. The location was so quiet, which was exactly what we wanted, just time away from work and everything else. The cinema room was a lovely treat with a great selection of films, perfect to use while the hot tub was warming up. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and family, and we are already looking at when we can visit again. Even if it’s not that wagon we would like to stay in another one.
11/05/2019Sophie
We had a great couple of days, very relaxing and a gorgeous location. The hot tub was lush once we had it sussed with the temperature and the cinema shed was awesome for a cosy night on the sofa. Beautiful quirky place to stay.
26/04/2019Karen
Great location nestled in the Cornish hills with a cozy new shepherd's hut, central heating, great shower and log burner. The wood-fired jacuzzi was a new experience and we loved sitting out at night watching the stars. The Video room was handy for entertainment, warm & cozy with a comfy sofa on cold nights. Amazing place. 10/10

A unique site and lovely, welcoming owners. The hut has been beautifully kitted out with quirky details, a wood-burner for keeping toasty and the wood fired hot tub is perfect for a night time soak under the stars in your own private garden. There’s a great local pub within walking distance, you are near to Launceston making it easy for days out and heading to the coast, but on site you feel a million miles away. A wonderful retreat.

This was place was incredible, it’s tranquil and romantic takes you back and reminds you how important it is to put the phone down and be together

Ragnarr is perfect for a weekend getaway. Our small family of 4 plus a little dog had loads of room to play, relax and entertain. We watched the BFG in the secret cinema, spent 2 evenings in the hot tub and cooked pizzas in the oven. A lovely space!

We had a wonderful stay at Ragnarr, we didn't want to leave. It really was a little slice of heaven. There were also a number of thoughtful touches, from the homemade cake and drinks to the basic kitchen cooking items which was brilliant.

We had a lovely stay in Ragnarr. We loved the privacy and the facilities and the bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival were very thoughtful. We loved the cinema room and hot tub.
