Overview
Duke is a classic 1940’s Showman’s wagon, with bright vibrant paintwork on the outside and interior furnishings to match. He lords over his own secluded patch of wildflower meadow, which is bounded by a mixed native hedgerow so there’s wildlife all around; the fire pit and hot tub are just in front of him, perfect for a cosy evening watching the rabbits, listening to the birds and gazing at the stars. Climb up the wide wooden steps, go through the stable door and find a wonderfully vintage living area with French enamel wood burner and original built-in china cupboard. Your cosy bedroom is at one end, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen at the other for your morning cuppa. A few steps away, you have your own bespoke hut housing a big modern bathroom. The whole meadow is perfectly set up to just lie back and daydream in the Cornish countryside. Wander around Spring Park and you may meet your neighbours - from colourful wagons to tin chapels.
If you do want to go adventuring, why not pack up a picnic and go off for the day, maybe to the north coast beaches for surfing, walking across Dartmoor or wandering through the local villages and visiting the markets.

Kitty grew up here so will be rediscovering old haunts and Paddy loves a trip to the coast to go surfing. Their two dogs Jess and Peggy can’t believe their luck at moving into such a lovely home in the countryside, and Peggy particularly loves saying hello to guests too!

Fabulous! Lovely little autumn weekend get away. Lovely peaceful, secluded setting perfect for for switching off and spending quality time together.

Had a fantastic time. Everything was perfect. Our second stay at Duke. Can't wait to stay again
02/09/2024Marnie
An absolutely wonderful place to stay.
16/08/2024Poppy
I loved my stay at the Duke, the wagon was extremely comfortable and had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. Everything was clean and functioning, the wagon was warmer than I expected but had plenty of options to warm yourself on really cold nights. There was plenty of space around the wagon for the dogs to enjoy and the location was very peaceful, I only heard the occasional cow or sheep! I loved the hot tub and really enjoyed watching the bunnies play near the wagon whilst i had a warm dip. The Duke has plenty of places nearby to visit and explore and is also within an hours drive of a lot of other attractions.
10/06/2024Cailet
I can only sum up my stay in one word WOW, what a beautiful place with great amenities and surroundings, we never saw or heard another human, it was just the break away from life we needed, and we shall most definitely return.
31/05/2024Tony
This was the first trip my partner and I have been on and we wanted somewhere small, surrounded by nature (as we both have a dog each) and relaxing. The Duke ticked all of those boxes and more. I absolutely loved its quirks and the location was perfect for us. We were able to travel around Cornwall so easily and we made every day of our stay count by visiting lots of lovely local towns and villages. The hot tub is a great addition, and we would love to mention Paddy who is one of the owners, he gave great local insight and catered to every one of our needs quickly. We will be back again. Thank you!
17/05/2024Gina
We had the perfect weekend away in Duke. The owners Kitty and Paddy left us some beverages, a lovely slice of cake and chocolates on arrival which was a lovely sentiment. Plenty of wood provisions around for the wood burner and wood fired hot tub. The living/sleeping quarters were very cosy and warm with lots of quirky features and historical items highlighting Cornwall's heritage. Such a good base to explore different towns and villages in the area and not far to the coast. We explored the western side of Dartmoor National Park which was a epic day out too! Rory & Katie The land around Duke was nice and secluded and private. Amazing to witness the wildlife coming in and around the accommodation.
09/03/2024Rory
Wonderful. Everything we wanted in a short break. Beautiful accommodation and loved the personal touches
01/03/2024Marnie
Fantastic experience, clean and well presented
15/12/2023Mark
We have spent lovely 3 nights at the Duke and honestly could stay for much longer! Just perfect place to escape from daily life where you can truly relax and unwind. The hot tub and fire pit was a great addition - setting the hot tub was very easy and straight forward. On out first evening it was heavily raining and it was very windy, but that didn't stop from setting the hot tub. The memories of relaxing in hot water and being refreshed by cold rain at the same time will stay with us forever. DYI flapjacks and beer upon arrival were a great touch. Would highly recommend to everyone!
18/08/2023Dominika
I was given a voucher by my colleagues when I finished work. My friend and I chose Duke at random really due mainly to availablity to fit in with other commitments. It did not disappoint. Unfortunately we had rain so didn't get to enjoy the garden or use the hot tub. The wagon is something else, and kept immaculately. I would definitely recommend as despite the weather we had a great time in the cosy little Duke, wish we'd booked for longer than 2 nights
02/08/2023Dawn
Amazing vouple of nights, everything had been thought of. So peaceful and comfortable
24/07/2023Sophie
It was very good. Accommodation had everything that I needed, I wasn’t disturbed by anything or anybody. It was quiet, comfortable & just what I needed
17/07/2023Phol
We had a great time staying at The Duke. It’s a very peaceful and quiet location. The beer and cake were a great touch upon arrival. Staying at The Duke is a very interesting experience, it’s got all mod cons but retains its original charm. The hot tub is a great experience and quite straightforward to use. The meadow it’s set in shouldn’t be underestimated either as it adds to the charm of The Duke.
12/06/2023Jon
Absolutely the best place to get away from it all. Pure bliss. This is our second visit and will not be our last. Thank u for a truly wonderful place to stay away from the busy day to day grind Cornwall is beautiful.
02/06/2023Jenny
Very beautiful, lovely and quaint with everything we needed for a relaxing time. Simply no hassle, just arrived, unpacked and relaxed. It was so easy.
26/05/2023Michael
It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!! We loved our stay and were able to fully relax!
08/05/2023Douglas
It was such a magical place to stay. The carriage was lovely, but the grounds and the hot tub just made it perfect. The memory of sitting in the tub watching the rabbits bound around will stay with me for years.
03/04/2023Carrie
Amazing, the Duke was fantastic. Well maintained very clean and very comfortable.
27/03/2023Stephanie
Upon arrival at the site we saw the rabbits running in the meadow attached to Duke. Then we saw Duke and both just grinned at each other... It was a beautiful setting and the carriage was so comfortable! The 3 days were so relaxing and we just loved the hot tub and fire pit. Even though the weather wasn't that great, it did not detract from the beauty and relaxation that was on offer and actually cosying up near the wood burner was very romantic. We will definitely be coming back again and have recommended to all our friends and family. Sublime!!
17/03/2023Adrian
Booked this absolute gem the day before we arrived. It is a perfect place to switch off from the day to day grind. Spring Parc have some amazing unique accommodation to stay in. A beautiful quiet place surrounded by fields, birds and rabbits running around. Waking up here was absolute bliss and we've already booked a return visit in summer. Highly recommend
03/03/2023Jenny
I absolutely loved my time spent at Duke. This was my second visit, just myself and my two dogs. Very chilled in a beautiful relaxing setting.
10/02/2023Debbie
We stayed in Duke, the fantastically restored showman's wagon for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our entire time there. The wagon itself was beautifully furnished and decorated and had everything we needed. It felt like a magical escape in an idyllic location. We loved being surrounded by nature, seeing rabbits in the meadow and hearing owls whilst in the private hot tub was special. Kitty and Paddy had provided plenty of firewood for us to enjoy the log burner and hot tub throughout our stay and had kindly left welcome gifts for our arrival. All the local recommendations were excellent and we loved exploring Devon & Cornwall during our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer and would happily return to Spring Park again in the future.
10/10/2022Natasha
We had a fantastic honeymoon in Duke. It has huge amounts of character while still being cosy. The wood-fired hot tub was amazing, and we loved being able to soak while we watched the wildlife in the paddock (bunnies, a weasel, bats, robins...). Kitty and Paddy were very welcoming and helpful.
22/08/2022Nicola
When i booked Duke I spent a long time looking at the photos and videos but nothing could have prepared me for when we parked the car and walked through up the path through the trees and caught our first glimpse. It was love at first sight. Beautifully furnished. A huge shower room with fabulous shower. Amazing garden where we watched the bunnies and bats and lit a fire in the fire pit. We didn’t use the hot tub as (sadly?) too hot. We were left to our own devices but when I did have to contact paddy about an issue he arrived immediately- and at 7pm on a Sunday evening was pretty impressive! We summed up our stay using the word idyllic. We will definitely be back - maybe staying in another accommodation but I don’t know if we could beat Duke he was the best. Thank you Paddy & Kitty
12/08/2022Debbie
We had an incredible time staying at Duke! Everything was thought of, the location was beautiful, and having the separate shower room made it even better. Our dogs loved everything about it too (sorry they dropped in on our neighbours to say hi at one point!)
20/07/2022Amy
Our stay was wonderful! Duke was lovely, had everything we needed, we couldn't have asked for a lovelier place to stay. The pictures don't do it justice. Would definitely recommend this place
29/06/2022Beverley
Duke is a lovely place to stay, feels luxurious whilst still giving the glamping experience. The garden and hottub were well maintained.
30/05/2022Johann
Lovely little mini break in a beautiful, peaceful and private location.
11/04/2022Leah Mary
A beautifully decorated wagon and a quiet little piece of Cornish countryside to call home for a few days - a tonic for the soul!
09/03/2022Chris
Fabulous mini-break in a fantastic location, didn't want to leave!
12/11/2021Paul
It was amazing, such a magical and relaxing place. Had everything we needed, didn’t want to leave!!
25/10/2021Ellie
Another perfect Canopy and Stars break! Simply stunning, beautiful location and Duke had everything we could wish for. Stunning interior with a log fire, big bed and well equipped kitchen. We loved spending time in the hot tub and then toasting marshmallows on the outdoor fireplace! We didn't meet Kitty and Paddy but they left a lovely welcome note, local cider and ale, homemade cakes and beautiful fresh roses! Our little dog loved running round the meadow and rolling in the freshly cut grass, simply idyllic and a great escape from everyday life and the sun shone brightly! Would definitely recommend to anyone!
15/10/2021Vicki
Duke is a beautiful wagon situated in its own little patch, we had a perfect stay, every detail has been considered, it was spotlessly clean and the owners left you to it. The decor inside Duke is fantastic and you feel like you’ve almost stepped back in time. The log burner is brilliant and the hot tub too! We loved watching the stars in the evening from the hot tub and then sitting in front of the log burner with a glass of wine in hand.
11/10/2021Jodie
We had the most amazing stay at Duke. The setting was perfect - so quiet and private but easy to access. The wagon was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We loved the wood-fired hot tub and it was perfect to enjoy in the autumn sunshine. Although we didn't meet our hosts, Kitty and Paddy were responsive via text if we needed them!
08/10/2021Chloe
Magical! Spring Park is a special place. It was our first time at the Duke but not at Spring Park. The Duke was as lovely and comfortable as expected. We had everything we needed. You have such a sense of privacy here, it truly feels like the Duke is your home. It’s such a privilege to watch the sunset in your own private garden with the swallows flying above, giving way to the bats as dusk sets in. The hot tub is wonderful, lying back looking at the stars, listening to the owls. It’s a great base from which to explore.
20/09/2021Emma
Had a wonderful stay at Duke. The cabin itself is super cute and unique and being set in its own little paddock is lovely.
17/09/2021Melanie
We had an amazing couple of nights with Duke, we have been to Sringpark before and know how great it is. It is somewhere close to use for a quick couple of nights away. Tavistock is a half hour drive and we love to have a morning or afternoon here. Once back at Springpark and Duke we enjoyed a bbq and time in the hot tub before lightning the firepit. Dukes accommodation is very comfortable, and it's lovely at night to sit and watch the wildlife, rabbits, squirrels and if lucky enough a fox. We really recommend a stay here. We have been here twice now and I'm already looking forward to a third trip!
03/09/2021Joanna
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duke, couldn’t fault it. The old wagon was charming and very cosy, the hot tub was also great, would definitely recommend this place.
13/08/2021Joe
We loved the Duke. Decorated brilliantly. Plenty of space. Well equipped. Great outdoor space with enough wood for two nights of fire pits and hot tubs. Very private and well kept. Have already recommended to friends and family and will definitely return.
11/08/2021Nadine
Our stay was very enjoyable, a good location to be able to go for walks, find lovely beaches and visit nice gardens.
02/08/2021Jenny
From our little private parking space to the walk up to the quirky Duke it was overwhelming... our two dogs loved it ! can't complain at all .
28/07/2021Kim
The place was magical as soon as we walked in - such a hidden gem.
16/07/2021Katie
Absolutely wonderful
24/05/2021Steph
Absolutely amazing place, the Duke was beautiful, very clean, the bathroom/shower also clean and well decorated. The private garden was stunning and the log fired hot tub an absolute treat that we enjoyed every evening of our stay. I cannot recommend Spring Park highly enough!

We spent 3 nights in the Duke as a belated birthday present. What can I say, it was exactly what we needed, a proper decompression break. Beautiful accommodation and surroundings alongside a convenient location. The Roe deer and rabbits were a pleasant suprise!

Overall a great experience and we had a lovely time at Duke. Visitted the Duke for a mid-week getaway to celebrate my birthday with my partner. Our communication with Kitty,Paddy, Peter and Di was great before our trip and they provided us with all the necessary information. I had contacted them before about the use of BBQ and they made sure we had charcoal. They had also left flapjacks and locally crafted beer in the wagon; a very nice touch on their part. We arrived there by bus. The 15-min walk is easy, however I would suggest, if choose to walk there from the closest bus station, try to pack light (our dufflebag made our walk slightly uncomfortable) The wagon and the outdoor space are idyllic. We enjoyed our time around the fire pit and in the hot tub. The garden is green, well taken care of and it was a few cute bunnies roaming around. The wood provided was more than enough for 1 hot tub use and 2 fire pit uses. The wagon was clean and they had taken all the necessary COVID precautions. We totally recommend Duke! We hope to come back one day!

We chose to stay here again because we love the ambiance together with the care and attention the owners pay to every detail. The location is also great for exploring Cornwall.
02/11/2020Tim
Our stay was simply perfect. To celebrate our 11 year anniversary we wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful. The duke certainly delivered that. Tucked away in our own private part, with a hot tub and a fire for the evenings was just what we needed on some days. However on others the location was central enough for us to enjoy the eden project and stunning coast.
05/10/2020Holly
We had a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing time at this site.
31/08/2020Kevin
We had the most wonderful time at Duke. The weather wasn’t that kind to us, but the wood burner and hot tub certainly made up for it!
24/08/2020Emma
We had a blissful few days staying in Duke, switching off from the world and letting time slow down. The weather was wonderful and we spent hours just lying in our own private meadow and dipping in and out of the hot tub! It was heavenly.
10/07/2020Lorna
Last minute weekend away birthday treat. The stay was much beyond what we hoped, a beautiful, unique place that was comfortable and had everything you wanted! Away from the hustle and bustle of life, in a picturesque setting and lovely hosts! Can't wait to go back
29/02/2020Kimberley
Our stay was just magical. As soon as we turned up we felt relaxed but also at home. The duke was so cosy and all the little details made it so special. The wood fired hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed and we even used the outside fire. We want to try all of the different wagons and we will definitely be returning.
21/02/2020Alice
Absolutely beautiful. Couldn't fault Duke down to every little detail and ornament. Garden lovely, hot tub fantastic and even though I was a little unsure about using a separate bathroom I needn't have been. Spring Park is a dream come true. Can't believe its been a week since we went. Take me back!

We had a lovely quiet stay at duke. We had long late lay ins and enjoyed walks around the area. Every evening we lit the fire and had Prosecco in the hot tub then snuggled by the fire indoors. We spent lots of time in the kitchen cooking and the whole holiday had a very lazy, laid back, chilled homey feel. There were no distractions and it was the perfect place to spend time together whilst enjoying the nature around us
10/01/2020Lucie
Fabulous, what a pleasant surprise it was so much better than we expected. Paddy was great helped us fire up the hot tub. They had left us teabags, milk and condiments. Also a very useful book with emergency numbers and places to go. The duke was fully equipped with everything u cud need, also had fresh laundered towels for us in the bathroom. Amazing shower and huge bathroom. Really really impressed we will definitely book again.
14/08/2019Claire
Just perfect! We loved Duke - quirky and also really well restored, decorated and comfortable. We loved watching the wild rabbits in the wildflower meadow, soaking in the hot tub and roasting marshmallows over the fire! All just amazing.
04/08/2019Louise
We had a lovely time staying in Duke, Kitty, Paddy and family have clearly gone to great lengths to create a lovely place to stay.
15/07/2019Victoria
It was fabulous! The Duke is set in its own private meadow, wild bunnies hopped about and there were stunning flowers all around. Creature comforts, such as a really good shower, comfortable bed, woid burning fire, fire pit, a fully functioning kitchen with all the utensils we needed and the place was furnished with gorgeous antique quirky Knick knacks and general decor. We had total privacy and felt at home, roasted marshmallows over the fire and stayed in the hot tub til late. My dogs first holiday, and she loved it, lots of places to walk and happy just to chill out in the meadow. Our hosts were lovely, we were her on arrival, shown how to work everything and given cider and home baked cake! What a nice touch!! We will be going back and recommending it to friends and family.

Our stay at Duke was amazing, we loved the peace and quite of the area and the owners were really helpful settling us in then left us alone, we knew where they were if we needed them. We were surprised on how much area we got, we had our own little field and enjoyed watching the rabbits, also seeing the bats flying around. The facilities were really good, a great shower. the living space was quirky it was decorated really well. The hot tub took a bit of work getting the temperature right with it being a wood burner. Me and my partner both said we could have stayed there it was so peaceful. it was good for getting out and about, lots of things to do in the area. I can say it was the most chilled out break i have had in a long time.
24/06/2019Sarah
What an amazing place to stay. Every detail of the showman’s wagon was carefully chosen. The field was beautiful. Rabbits and birds kept us company. The hot tub was so luxurious, although we made it too hot the first time. Our washroom shed was a few steps away, so we could use the loo in the night. It helped to take a torch. Kitty and Paddy were available at all times to answer questions. We really loved our stay. It was a perfect way to celebrate our 36th anniversary!
28/05/2019Kristin
Absolutely one of the best weekends of our lives!
26/04/2019Charley
Really lovely relaxing stay at the beautifully presented and cosy Duke. The accommodation was well equipped and very clean. Great instructions left for use of the hot tub and help on hand if we needed it. We also loved the peaceful setting- surrounded by wild rabbits and sunshine.
18/04/2019Rachel
Fantastic location loved the private meadow with the hot tub our first time experience doing this will defiantly do it again and recommend to family and friends.location was not to far away
25/03/2019Jim
What a place! So cosy and nice and the surrounding countryside is just stunning. We happened to stay at the Duke on a rainy weekend which didn’t bring the moods down at all, quite the opposite. It was lovely to sit in front of the fireplace, play games and listen to the rain. We even used the hot tub when it was raining - and it worked, water in the hot tub is warm so the experience was good!
15/03/2019Iiris
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The wagon was exquisite, location was perfect for what we needed and Paddy and Kitty were excellent hosts. We can’t wait to return.
01/03/2019Amy
Incredible. As soon as we arrived we felt relaxed and comfortable. We both said on the way home how much we want to return.
24/01/2019Beck
We arrived when it was quite dark but Paddy helpfully guided us to The Duke. What they have done with the space is amazing, and leaving us home made cake and some drinks was very kind. Paddy showed us how to use the hot tub, which I highly recommend, I've never been able to sit in a tub and look at the stars before. Shower is great, toilet cabin was clean with plenty of towels for us. Bed was comfy and the kitchen oven and kettle were very good. On top of our amazing stay we got engaged! So all in all an unforgettable trip for us and I am so glad we stayed here and will be back again some time, hopefully with a dog as everywhere seems pooch friendly! Thanks again Kitty & Paddy, thanks also to canopy & stars as we wouldn't have found The Duke otherwise. Happy New Year! From Cassie & Ben
27/12/2018Ben
Peaceful location. Great hosts. Lovely to stay in a little piece of history in Duke, 1940's Showmans Wagon. We loved the space of our private meadow. Our dog appreciated this too. Hot Tub was great and loved lighting our own campfire each evening. Loved watching the bats flying at twilight. Well placed to visit coastal villages. A unique chill out place totally off the grid.
19/08/2018Elaine
We had a great time staying in Duke - if anything we could of done with a few days more to fully enjoy everything the site offered. The large meadow was perfect for our dog, who loved going out and exploring every morning and watching he resident bunny from Duke. The wood-fired hot tub is a must, we had the best time enjoying the warmth of the tub under the night time stars.
04/08/2018Aisha
Had the best stay at Duke. We stayed for 2 nights and had the best nights sleep in a long time. It was very quiet with no noise from any roads. The hot tub was great combined with a bbq and a fire in the fire pit for both the nights stay. I would recommend staying in Duke to anyone. The small touches were great. We were greated to a bottle of prosecco & Di’s homemade shortbread (they were amazing)
17/06/2018Laura
Amazing, perfect from start to end! The wagon and surroundings are beautiful! All the personal touches make this an extra special place to visit...already planning our next visit!
10/06/2018Fran
Brilliant weekend at the Duke. Lovely location, beautiful accommodation and hot tub.
26/01/2018Grace
We had a wonderful time, very peaceful and relaxing and the hot tub was fantastic! Takes a while to heat up but when it's hot it's amazing, we sat there in the cold and drizzle! Brilliant facilities, pretty much everything you need is there even tea and coffee. I was pleasantly surprised at how secluded it was as well, considering there were other wagons nearby it still felt very private. Had a delicious meal at the springer spaniel pub and a really fun day out at the eden project. Would love to come back and stay!
17/11/2017holly
Had a lovely time celebrating my birthday in Duke. It was in a brilliant location, it was so cosy inside and the facilities were great.
13/11/2017Mel
Duke was even more cosy and characterful than the pictures depicted! It was such a wonderful base to return to each night after exploring the beautiful sights of Cornwall. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was beautiful. The wood fired hot tub was amazing and surprisingly easy to use! Paddy gave us a very warm welcome on arrival and was there anytime we needed to contact him. A fab location for exploring the north and centre of Cornwall. Such a peaceful and secluded location but also with easy distance of a Tesco haha! Woud definitely return to Duke and maybe try out the other cabins, caravan etc at Spring Parc. Wouldn't of found this gem without Canopy and Stars so thanks to a fab webiste!
17/09/2017Erin
My partner and I arrived after a day out in nearby Tintagel, visiting St Nectans Glen. We parked up and walked a short distance to a beautiful secluded area revealing the Duke in all his glory. It was such a peaceful atmosphere the minute we walked up to the showmans wagon. Kitty and Paddy had left us a bottle of wine and some delicious scones with Cornish clotted cream and jam. Such a lovely touch. There was an old fashioned but fully functional french wood burner inside which we lit not long into our stay and it kicked out some lovely heat! The best part was seeing my partner's face when we got into the wood fired hot tub outside! it was just a beautiful setting and felt very private and romantic!
08/09/2017Matthew
Duke was beautiful, welcoming and cosy. The facilities were amazing and everything worked perfectly. There was a wonderful little welcoming gifts from Kitty and Paddy in the form of wine and biscuits, which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was also a massive bonus, and was very much enjoyed. Launceston was a perfect location to then explore the North Coast of Cornwall, including Tintagel and Port Isaac which were not very far away at all. We had a wonderful time.
04/09/2017Emily
We absolutely loved our stay in Duke. Such picturesque setting. It met our expectations and some. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the flapjacks and bottle of wine were a lovely touch. We are definitely going to return.
07/08/2017Wesley
We had a wonderful stay it was cosy, peaceful and in a beautiful area, pure heaven loved every minute
01/08/2017Alison
This was the best canopy and stars stay we have had so far. The accommodation is understated and very comfortable. The location beautiful and quiet. And the hot tub an excellent added extra. They hosts we're welcoming and friendly, and the arrival gift of homemade cake and wine very gratefully received. There is no question that we hope to return.
23/07/2017Charlie
A peaceful tranquil location, well equiped, but quirky. We were made very welcome, the wine, cakes and fresh flowers on arrival were a nice touch. The hot tub was wonderful, we hope to return soon.
19/07/2017Susan
What an amazing place. Private, Quirky, beautiful. The cabin is clean and well stocked. Fabulous location. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to be. The Duke is sited within its own meadow which was a lovely surprise. Highly recommended
20/05/2017Martyn
Delightful! A tranquil location. Warm and cosy inside with all home from home comforts. Paddy was helpful. The extra goodies of wine and flapjacks were a scrummy treat after our long journey. The hot tub was amazing! It was magical to watch the stars while sitting in the hot tub
13/02/2017Helen
A beautiful, cosy and tranquil setting in a wonderfully maintained and renovated wagon. Lovely welcoming extra touches - Homebake cake waiting for us. Blankets and hot water bottles waiting were a lovely touch.
11/02/2017Kim
Amazing! We loved every minute from the friendly greeting and wine / cakes left for us, sitting by the camp fire roasting marshmallows, stargazing from the hot tub and cosy evenings inside by the fire. Great local walks. Dog friendly and plenty of space for them to run around. Home from home!
20/12/2016Rhiannon
Staying at Duke was even better than we had anticipated. From the moment we arrived we were completely drawn in by the charm and beauty of Duke. The small details and the love and care that has gone into Duke is a credit to the owners. We could not have asked for a better place to stay for a weekend away, and actually could have quite comfortably stayed there for a whole week!
11/11/2016Jessica
It was a magical place so peaceful and relaxing. Paddy made us so welcome and he and Kitty left us a welcome gift of wife and cake along with a greeting postcard which was a special touch. Would highly recommend Duke.
29/10/2016Dawn
We both had an amazing time. The Duke was so well decorated and restored. The original enamel fire place worked brilliantly and kept us warm as we relaxed and read our books. We had the use of the log fired hot tub, after a bit of time gettin the water up to temperature we were able to stay in it ages and watch the sun set and stars come out.
29/09/2016Christopher
It was the best holiday we've ever been on. To be on our own away from the noise of city life was one of the best experiences of our lives! From the lovely warm welcome we received from Paddy to leaving on our last day, everything was perfect. I had always been apprehensive about Glamping, but we had been home one day and I already started searching the website for our next little piece of tranquility. Me and my fiance don't get much time with each other; we both work anti social hours in leisure and hospitality so to be completely away from crowds of people, and the noise that goes with that, was absolutely wonderful!
10/07/2016Julia
Absolutely brilliant! Everything we wanted. Loved the fact there was no internet etc as it meant it was a proper break. Great setting with our own little meadow watching the wildlife.
26/06/2016Adam
Duke has been refurbished to a high standard and was a delight to stay in. The addition of the hot tub was a lively surprise.
16/06/2016Helen
"We stayed in Dukes...wow... What a fantastic authentic 1940 style wagon. So comfy and welcoming. The burner was great , sat playing cards, drinking port and the dog loved his holiday and welcome biscuits. Very friendly welcome from the family"
02/11/2014Anitta
"We loved Spring Park. Such a relaxing break in stunning surroundings. The showmans wagon was such a unique treat, so rustic and with so much care to detail. The added extras, wine for us and dog treats for the dog, really made us feel welcome. The price was fantastic - we can't fault our stay and would certainly be staying again- taking friends and family!
29/10/2014Jessica
"We loved our stay. Beautifully decorated shepherds hut in a beautiful and peaceful location. Hosts were wonderful, lovely little touches (wine and cake) to greet us on arrival. Great location for exploring Cornwall."
29/08/2014Hannah
"Me and my friend had an absolutely fantastic girlie time away! Kit was just wonderful, as was her dad and had provided us with wine, cake and some logs to get us started on our camp fire and mini log burner. Duke was amazing and the use of the kitchen inside made it warm and inviting. The fact that the shower and toilet were next to where we were staying was super convenient and the facilities were lovely. We enjoyed the local surrounding going on walks, hikes across Dartmoor and the local market at Tavistock. There were some lovely pubs in the area. We would definitely go back! I'm hoping to take my fiancé as I know he'd just love it there!"
11/08/2014Lucy
"LOVED IT. Friendly owners and relaxed atmosphere. Exceeded expectations. Brilliant value."
27/07/2014Emma
"We really enjoyed our stay. Our host were very helpful and welcoming but no at all intrusive. It was the perfect escape and become our own little sanctuary. The location and surroundings were brilliant and there was everything you needed in the local area and plenty of places to visit."
21/07/2014Tabitha
"Thoroughly enjoyed the quirkyness and friendliness - everything we expected, and more."
19/05/2014Clive
"We had a fantastic couple of nights. The accommodation was really comfortable; Kitty and Paddy had thought of everything right down to a bottle of wine and cakes on arrival. It was incredibly peaceful and private. The weather was amazing, and there was a great pub " The Springer Spaniel" a mile down the lane."
16/05/2014Chris
"We fell in love with the look of Duke and built our holiday around the accommodation! Loved it - so beautifully decorated and I felt welcomed by Kitty and Paddy. Little touches made a difference. Best thing was getting the fire pit going! Although I think I might have loved arriving at Duke and meeting him for the 1st time! Worst was the rainy night time trios to the loo! Although the shower room was also beautiful!"
08/05/2014Helen
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did the rest of our family who joined us later in the week. It was extremely relaxing and we couldn't have asked for better hosts. We had everything we needed for a wonderful break and they were more than happy to help if needed. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and well thought out and we slept better there than we have since we have been home! Thanks."
10/04/2014The Hinders
"We had an amazing time in Duke. Beautifully decorated with a great toilet/shower room next door. Hosts were warm friendly and weren't intrusive. Loved the little touches in the van like cakes and wine on arrival. It inspired ones imagination and was truly a get away from it all holiday. Came back relaxed and refreshed. Love to go back when weather is warmer to enjoy the little meadow some more eg light the fire pit and watch the stars. Highly recommend."
04/04/2014Emma
"We stayed in Duke, a 1940's showman's wagon, the setting was perfect. We felt like we got away from it all but still had the conveniences of running water and a flushing loo! The wagon was also decked out beautifully with lovely vintage teapots and an amazing wood burning stove to add to the atmosphere."
20/02/2014Vicky
"Amazing, we loved it. Leaving a birthday card was a lovely personal touch. No bad things, all excellent."

Wonderful. Everything we wanted in a short break. Beautiful accommodation and loved the personal touches

Had a wonderful stay at Duke. The cabin itself is super cute and unique and being set in its own little paddock is lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duke, couldn’t fault it. The old wagon was charming and very cosy, the hot tub was also great, would definitely recommend this place.

We loved the Duke. Decorated brilliantly. Plenty of space. Well equipped. Great outdoor space with enough wood for two nights of fire pits and hot tubs. Very private and well kept. Have already recommended to friends and family and will definitely return.

Our stay was very enjoyable, a good location to be able to go for walks, find lovely beaches and visit nice gardens.
02/08/2021Jenny
From our little private parking space to the walk up to the quirky Duke it was overwhelming... our two dogs loved it ! can't complain at all .

The place was magical as soon as we walked in - such a hidden gem.

Absolutely wonderful
