Overview
Start by unpacking – bring jelly shoes to wallow in the natural pool and a good book to read while sat out on deck; the sweeping panorama of the Aveyron valley spilling out below will try to distract you from the pages. Great lighting illuminates your camp and the paths that lead to the central hub, and the stars work hard too to light your way. There’s soft bedding and fluffy towels, natural bath products and all the pots, pans, chopping boards and coffee-making kit you’ll need in your own impressive outdoor kitchen. Anne and Philippe designed Le Camp around their love of adventurous holidays, and like-minded souls will appreciate their attention to detail – they’ve thought of everything, from the solar-panel powered phone charging ports in the kitchen to the snuggly sofas. Comfort is key here.
Mount Kenya is the most private of the spaces on offer at Le Camp, raised up on a plateau at the top of camp with five and a half wooded acres to romp around. In the main tent there’s space for up to five in a big handmade oak bed (which splits in two) and three singles, with two singles in the bell tent alongside. Then there's a cosy inside seating area and a terrace where you can sit and enjoy a bottle of wine and the sunset. Stick some tunes on the kitchen speaker and fire up the barbecue to eat together on the dining platform with its shady awning for escaping the sun. After dips off the pontoon you can wash off under the big rainfall shower with its clear roof so you won’t miss any of the sunset – there are more showers at the main camp and two flushing loos, but you’ve got a compost loo all to yourself up here. You can leave the car in the shady spot 50m down the hill – you won’t need it unless you’re heading out to explore the hiking trails, rivers and medieval towns of Tarn-et-Garonne. There’s plenty on site if you want to stay put: board games and books for all ages, paints, darts and miles of green space to roam.

Meet your hosts
Anne and Philippe have been proud owners of this eco-domain since January 2024, after previously running a small traditional family campsite in Ariège. Before that, they were both teachers, shaping them into the people they are today.
Anne loves to cook, read by the fire and be in nature. Philippe is a DIY enthusiast, and his passion for cycling makes this area of France particularly special to him, with amazing cycle routes right on the doorstep of Le Camp. As well as embracing the great outdoors, Anne and Philippe took Tao Yin classes together, and are happy to give lessons to camp guests, should they wish to discover it!
The intimacy of Le Camp is what truly won Anne and Philippe over, and they love the fact that they can combine their personal values for ecology with their professions, and share this with their guests.
Wildlife & Environment
Le Camp is situated in 2.2 hectares of oak woodland which guests are free to roam and explore. There is plenty of wildlife to spot, with regular visits from deer, red squirrels, snakes, lizards, owls, and all sorts of birds and insects. There are wild boar too, but they don’t come into the camp, however you can sometimes hear them running along the other side of the boundary fence.
The owners try to encourage as much wildlife as possible at Le Camp, with lots of fruit trees, wildflowers, leaf and log piles, hideyholes and and large areas of the camp left untouched for nature to do its own thing. The lavender outside the kitchen is covered in butterflies all summer long. The natural swimming pond is teeming with frogs, newts, dragonflies and damselflies! Reclaimed materials and solar power are used wherever possible with the grey water from the showerhouse used on pot plants, and all garden and kitchen waste collected to compost.

We had a family holiday at Mount Kenya (Le Camp France) for a week at the end of August/early September. We had such a lovely break - the surroundings (hills, countryside, small villages and the medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val, plus the Gorges d'Averyron), and Le Camp itself was utterly perfect. Anne and Philippe are wonderful, friendly and helpful hosts. The location was idyllic with options for pure relaxation and/or energetic outdoor pursuits. We loved it.
