Overview
The treehouse at Beudy Banc is a simple, open space where you can sit among the trees with the stream rippling below and enjoy the peace of the Welsh countryside. There's a double bed and a wood burner by the sofa, hobs for cooking on, a modern bathroom and nothing else in the way of modern distractions. It’s a chance to ditch the wifi and unhook for a while, wandering the woods, spending awhile in the bookable sauna and plunge pool or simply sitting out on the deck looking at the stars.
The treehouse at Beudy Banc is owner Dafydd’s latest creation, taking his cool cabins up into the treetops. There are no shared facilities, but you might meet other guests here and there.
The area is one of the UK's best for mountain biking, with signposted off-road trails all around Machynlleth, including one with a continuous two-mile descent – the longest in Wales or England. For more leisurely cycling, the vast network of nearby quiet lanes & forestry tracks is ideal. If you didn’t bring the bike, Glyndwr's Way, a 135-mile National Trail through incredibly dramatic scenery, can be picked up right from the farm. Within half-an-hour from the treehouse steps you can be up a mountain, in a forest, squelching across moors, or even walking on the beach.

This stay has been exhilarating! Beudy Banc is a suburb destination to stay at if you want to be surrounded by nature and even better to get to stay in a tree house. There is a stream right next to it that can be heard in the treehouse which is very soothing. This treehouse exceeded expectations and had everything you would'nt expect in a treehouse that made our stay so comfy and cosy. I found the bed so comfy and the bathroom better then expected with hot water and flushing toilet. We arrived during the back end of a storm where the first night was quite windy but never once felt unsafe and the house is very secure. We were fortunate to have a stunning view looking out on the moutains due to it being winter and no leaves on the tree. I can't fault this place at all and most definately will return back. Thank you Beudy Banc for a truly memorable stay.

This was the lushest weekend away, honestly the cutest place with everything we needed. The host was super helpful and friendly.

Fantastic stay. The treehouse was incredibly clean and basic amenities were supplied. The campsite was perfect and everything that you could need was easy to access

Lovely peaceful stay in the treehouse, everything we needed for a short stay. Great views and a display of the fighter jets in the evening made it even better. Would love to have done some of the great walks in the area but the weather wasn't good. Had a day in Machynlleth which is only a short drive away and has some quirky shops. Would definitely stay again in the future.

My family decided to have an adventure and we chose the Tree House. It was amazing. Plenty of space around us for my son and my dog to have fun. Very cozy and comfortable. We didn't have internet but if we walked some meters away of the house we could have signal. I was worried about the shower and electricity but we had plenty as the location has solar panels and battery to keep the electricity; shower was nice and hot, as it is gas. At night, we put the woodburner , what was more than enough to heat the place, as it is not big. We loved so much we began to think when we can back there. I also loved the stream of water beside the Tree House. very relax.

One of the most beautiful locations we ever stayed in. The views are magnificent and the tree house is such a special space. It had everything we needed - no extravagant luxuries but comfort, tranquility and breathtaking landscape. It’s a place that will stay in our memories forever.

Stayed in the treehouse with my wife and daughter. The treehouse was perfect. Clean, had everything you needed and there are some fabulous walks right on your doorstep. The log fireplace really warm up the Thai cabin.

We had a very special time at Beudy Banc Treehouse. We stayed two nights, but wish we’d had four! A beautifully positioned and furnished little off-grid hideaway and we loved it. The wood burning stove was excellent too; cosy and heated the treehouse v effectively!!

Me and my boyfriend booked the treehouse for our one year anniversary. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and loved every minute
15/01/2024Daisy
Magical! This was our second wonderful stay at Beudy Banc but the first time in the tree house and it didn’t disappoint. Cosy, quirky and individual, the tree house has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay without being cluttered with unwanted gadgets and appliances. Being “hugged” in the arms of the beautiful oak tree and gazing at the stunning view down the valley couldn’t be a more peaceful and happy place for a holiday. We can’t wait to return.
19/07/2023Lucy
Excellent camp site, remote yet with good facilities and stunning views. The Treehouse was ideal for a small family of 3 and gave my 6 year old a sense of adventure and true feeling of being up in the trees

This was mine and my partners first short break away since we have been together for 6 months, we both love nature and thought a treehouse would be a great experience..we wanted to go off the grid no wifi, no tv etc .it was the perfect location and we had an amazing first holiday together ..

So happy to have found the Tree house. It was a magical place to stay. We stayed for 5 nights and it really enabled us to experience the house, the setting and the area. Having no electricity or WiFi makes you live differently and really appreciate the beauty and nature in a quiet and reflective way. The tree house is beautifully designed and constructed and was bit like going back to childhood, in good ways!
14/06/2023Liz
It was wonderful! Incredible location and views. An idyllic treehouse with nice decor and a magical atmosphere

Location close to where I proposed to my wife, who wanted to always stay in a treehouse. Celebrated her 50th with our children in the most idyllic setting. Value for money compared to other sites. Beautiful setting, close to amenities
03/02/2023Jonathan
Absolutey amazing place to stay! If you want to get away from just about everything and go off grid for a little while then this place is perfect. Loads of info is provided on walks and bike trails around the area or further afield. We were just 20 minutes drive from a stunning area in the hills and only around 10 minutes drive from Machynlleth too. Checking in and out was a doddle, we just text when we arrived and that was it! You’re then left in total peace if you wish to be. 100% we’ll be returning. Oh, and it’s a bargain!
07/01/2023Ryan
If you want to press the pause button on life this is the place. We loved the treehouse. Our host kept us supplied with wood for the log burner. The views are stunning. As if it couldn’t get any better we had snow. Just beyond perfect x

3 nights in the treehouse. Absolutely amazing. Love the quirkiness and how the owners have recycled to create new things. Beautiful position.. not underlooked by anyone. Peaceful and quiet. Perfect for a complete getaway from the hustle and bustle.
20/09/2022Marsha
It was a very peaceful, beautiful and inspiring place just as we wanted. Away from the noise.
23/12/2021Elsa
We had a wonderful stay, the hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. the tree house is the very definition of hygge. The decor is wonderful and the log burner keeps the place very warm. The house is well equipped and comfortable as well as being stylish. There is a proper toilet and shower. The location is really good, there are nice pubs serving good food within a 5 minute drive and also a number of pretty villages. The surrounding countryside is magnificent. It’s very peaceful and tranquil. It’s next to a stream and it’s lovely to hear the sounds of birds and tricking water
15/11/2021Chele
Really great location to just switch off and recharge. Treehouse was rustic and basic but had everything you need, without the mod cons. Bed a bit lumpy but no complaints really. If you want to just connect with each other, talk, drink wine and just relax, this is a great place to do just that. Would stay again.
12/11/2021Joachime
Wonderful 2 day break at the treehouse! Gorgeous location, cosy and pet friendly. The lig burner was lit for our arrival and the owner came to make sure we had made it okay (we arrived a little later than planned and weather wasn't great that night) so very thoughtful of him. Great walks around the grounds and local shops ips and cafes were good! Will definitely be returning.
01/11/2021Sarah
Inspiring little tree house and that made us realise that you don’t need much to be happy and enjoy life at it’s fullest.
22/10/2021Georgiana
It was a wonderful escape to a gorgeous part of the world. It felt very peaceful and a prime place to relax for a few days. Being immersed amongst a grand old oak tree felt very special.
10/10/2021Antonia
Had a fantastic 3 night stay even though it rained constantly. The treehouse is well equipped with everything you could need. A nice hot shower, a couple of gas rings to cook on and USB points to charge phones. There was a decent 4G signal too. The treehouse was comfortable although the metal bed was a bit creaky! The log burner was easy to light and sawdust blocks were provided. It kept the whole place toasty. We did nothing really apart from cook and read. Shame the weather was bad else we would have had a walk through the woods etc. We did go out though to the coast which is easily accessible. Overall a great stay.
02/10/2021Neil
A beautiful, scenic, truest unique stay in the middle of the Welsh countryside.
22/08/2021Richard
We had a lovely stay, beautiful place to stay, so nice to wind-down and relax. The only down side was the weather, didn't stop raining, but, we just lit the log burner and read a book.
19/08/2021Carol
What an amazing place! I almost don't want to review it, because it's so good that we would definitely want to return. The location, setting, site and owners are all incredible. There are beautiful views from the living room, bathroom and bedroom and you aren't overlooked by anyone.
13/08/2021Nicole
Total relaxation get away from everything break. Peaceful with beautiful views in a unique place.
24/07/2021Sarah
My boyfriend and I came to stay here for a couple of nights and it was a really nice experience. The view from the treehouse is stunning and the area around is beautiful. The host was very easy to communicate with, giving fast responses when we had questions. We had such a lovely time with no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend it.
14/07/2021freya
Accommodation was clean and tidy. Very informative welcome pack provided by the owner before arrival, including clear instructions on how to find the treehouse. Also, very quick to respond to any questions via the emails I sent which was much appreciated. Peaceful and calm surrounding area. Loved the little stream by the treehouse.

Amazing setting, dark skies, no light in sight
15/04/2021Bogdan
It was amazing!! Fantastic & unique accommodation in the most beautiful setting. Lots to see and so nearby as well as plenty of outdoor space. Very accommodating hosts. All in all I would give it an 11 out of 10!
11/09/2020Nicola
We enjoyed a 3 night break over our anniversary and it was the perfect spot for enjoying a quiet, relaxing break in the depths of the beautiful Welsh countryside. The treehouse is equipped with all you could need for a few nights, and so cosy once the log burner got going. We had some wet weather to start and were woken by what we soon realised were acorns landing on the roof, but then the sun came out and we could fully appreciate the beauty of the surrounding views. With very little phone signal, we loved cocooning ourselves (me, my husband and our dog) in this cosy, remote spot in the evenings, then getting out for long walks up mountains or to the gorgeous beaches all day. With Machynlleth just down the road for stocking up on supplies or picking up a good takeaway, it was perfect, would definitely come back and stay an extra night. Only slight struggle for us was the sheep sometimes at the bottom of the stairs when the dog needed to get out to the toilet, had to be careful not to get dragged down the stairs in his excitement to say hello!
07/09/2020Vicky
Loved it! We have two energetic daughters (6&8) and a Springer Spaniel. We arrived on Thursday late afternoon and left late Monday afternoon (we were booked to stay the Monday night too, but the children had school on Tuesday). We had a glorious few days exploring the farm trails and the local area.

Had a fantastic stay at Beudy Banc Treehouse. A great experience for a very relaxing stay Listening to the stream help us relax and wind down from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The treehouse was fantastic had everything we needed for our 3 day stay. The log burner warmed the cabin nicely for a relaxing evening. Great to sit on the balcony and watch the world go buy, listening to the birds and sheep. The walking and cycling routes are fantastic with the variety levels meeting everyone’s ability. Most definitely would like to visit again
13/07/2020Laura
We stayed at a tree house that had stunning views of the Welsh hills. The location was amazing and the stream running past added a wonderful chilled out ambience.
20/03/2020Sophie
I was looking for somewhere to stay that was relaxed & rustic, that would afford us some time together where we could be undisturbed by the usual distractions in life. Beudy Banc Treehouse appealed to me on many levels with its design, layout and location. The fact that there was no WIFI or TV sealed the deal for me. My husband is usually glued to his phone and simple questions such as "What would you like for dinner" often remained unanswered for the first couple of times of asking! I immediately felt at home when we arrived. The smell and appearance of the ply lining was warm and enveloping. The wood burner was a welcome addition and once we had fired it up kept the cabin nice and toasty warm. I started to read Consolations of the Forest which had been recommended on the pre trip checklist. It was wonderful to be reading this whilst being in a cabin myself and made me start to dream of a simpler, less complicated life without being surrounded by those things we have come to rely on a being essentials. My trip made me reassess what is important to surround yourself with.
13/03/2020Louise
What a wonderful experience! We loved our stay, even though it was -4 at times, the log burner kept us nice and cosy.
29/11/2019Anne-Marie
2 nights of tranquility that reminded me of the important things in life.
22/11/2019Dave
We are so grateful to have found this little gem in such a tranquil setting. This beautifully finished treehouse provides a welcomed escape from the brisk Autumn weather. The fantastic log burner and well insulated walls kept us cozy whilst we enjoyed our family time away from modern distractions.
30/10/2019Patricia
We arrived Friday and left Monday morning. The directions were clear and the tree house so welcoming. Chocolates and crisps were left from the owners and the relevant things to make a fire in the log burner. We only used the owners walking and driving guides and they were brilliant. Gave us lots to see and do. We can't wait to book again. Highly recommend.

It was exactly the escape we needed to get away from the hustle and bustles of normal everyday working life for a few days. The sound of the country side and the stream behind the tree house was very soothing and relaxing. We also enjoyed sitting on the sofa in front of the wood burner of an evening with a glass in hand playing cards and dominos and not worrying about what to watch on tv or your phone ringing as there was hardly any signal around the tree house which was in actual fact bliss for a few days. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

What a beautiful place! We wanted a base where we could relax and unwind but also a location where we could get out on our mountain bikes. The tree house was perfect for both. It was amazing how we were up a tree yet still had a shower, toilet, log burner, job etc. Waking up each morning with just he noise from a stream was perfect.

We had a very peaceful, relaxing stay in the trees in this lovely, new treehouse - the sound of the wind rustling in the trees and the stream babbling past puts you right back in nature. The wood-burner is nice to snuggle up to and you have everything you need in your little house to make basic meals and have a nice, hot shower. Great location too - close to pubs, beaches and mountains.

We had a very special time at Beudy Banc Treehouse. We stayed two nights, but wish we’d had four! A beautifully positioned and furnished little off-grid hideaway and we loved it. The wood burning stove was excellent too; cosy and heated the treehouse v effectively!!

Location close to where I proposed to my wife, who wanted to always stay in a treehouse. Celebrated her 50th with our children in the most idyllic setting. Value for money compared to other sites. Beautiful setting, close to amenities

Really great location to just switch off and recharge. Treehouse was rustic and basic but had everything you need, without the mod cons. Bed a bit lumpy but no complaints really. If you want to just connect with each other, talk, drink wine and just relax, this is a great place to do just that. Would stay again.

It was a wonderful escape to a gorgeous part of the world. It felt very peaceful and a prime place to relax for a few days. Being immersed amongst a grand old oak tree felt very special.

We had a lovely stay, beautiful place to stay, so nice to wind-down and relax. The only down side was the weather, didn't stop raining, but, we just lit the log burner and read a book.

What an amazing place! I almost don't want to review it, because it's so good that we would definitely want to return. The location, setting, site and owners are all incredible. There are beautiful views from the living room, bathroom and bedroom and you aren't overlooked by anyone.

We are so grateful to have found this little gem in such a tranquil setting. This beautifully finished treehouse provides a welcomed escape from the brisk Autumn weather. The fantastic log burner and well insulated walls kept us cozy whilst we enjoyed our family time away from modern distractions.
