Overview
Dimpsey is the sort of place that has been crafted so beautifully you notice the careful thought that’s gone into every delightful touch. Owners Emma and Andrew have blended their loves of luxury, vintage style and the great outdoors to create a space into which you can’t help but completely unwind. The hut itself is a treasure trove of surprises. There are gas hobs, a fridge and everything you need, plus the superb comfort of the bed, the old record player and even the styling of the light switches that add extra luxury and a little magic to your stay. The magic doesn’t stop at the door either. Outside you’ll find the long recliner hot tub, unless it’s been moved into the fairy-lit bothy. There’s a garden oven and deck chairs draped in soft sheepskins, so you can soak while dinner cooks then dine out under the stars.
Exploring Dimpsey’s many wonders will keep you pretty busy, especially when the 30-acre estate it calls home is a SSSI bursting with wildlife, but there’s plenty to lure you into the the surrounding area. Emma and Andrew are serious foodies and can point you to secret supper clubs, country pubs and eateries of every kind as well as providing breakfast from their own fabulous farm produce. The 13-mile Herepath runs nearby and has a pub handily located in the middle, and the whole of the Blackdown Hills AONB is striped with endless hiking and cycling through it’s peaceful terrain. Or if you don’t leave the farm, there are books, games and even woodworking courses just 15 mins away to pass the time between hot tub soaks, movies, sunsets and stargazing.

Meet Emma & Andrew:
Emma and Andrew have lived in Somerset for over 20 years and bought their small farm where they live with their two children. Alongside their farm duties, they also manage to find time to run their own enterprises; Emma's silver jewellery business and Andrew's engineering. Both Emma and Andrew are longstanding Canopy & Stars owners and know how to make a stay at Dimpsey special.
They're living the 'good life', being near self-sufficient, and living off their land. Their home is also their sanctuary, where they can walk out and drink in the view of the Blackdown Hills, smell the fresh air and hear the animals quietly calling for their breakfast!
As foodies, they love that guests buy food and cook it slowly on the firepit, or that they go and visit Mark Hix at Lyme Regis or the Hive at Burton Bradstock for some gastro-delights! Arthur C Clarke lived on their little hamlet for the first 8 years of his life and they like to think that the stunning night skies at Dimpsey inspired his lifelong fascination and love for outer space.
Wildlife & the environment:
The farm is set in 30 acres of (AONB) Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Blackdown Hills in Somerset. They also have 10 acres of SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) on the holding itself, so there is a plethora of bird and butterfly life. It is not unusual to see deer wandering by and the Dexter cows and Jacob sheep often wander up to look over the gate. The local country lanes are great for walking and cycling – and the night skies over the farm can be spectacular.

As expected, beautifully presented and with a self check in, it really felt secluded. I'd arranged for flowers and champagne, both were beautiful and helped make the surprise for my partner even more magical

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Dimpsey Hither. The hut is beautiful, with lots of very thoughtful little touches. We loved watching the sheep and cows and making the most of the hot tub! We didn't get to meet Emma and Andrew, but really appreciated all of the information they sent us beforehand

It was fantastic Everything about it was amazing from the parking up with the view of the sheep hens and geese to the stunning view of the hut

Wonderful relaxing two night break in a Shepherd's Hut that has everything you could possibly need or want. Very clever design, using all available space. Lovely welcome gifts. Very clean. Hot tub was amazing. Easy to light and keep going and big enough for a restorative soak for two.
22/08/2023Jo
We had a brilliant two nights stay. The space, both inside and outside is well thought out and creates such a calming and relaxing atmosphere. We loved cooking on the fire, watching the sheep laze in the field and the hot tub was brilliant.

This place is fantastic! Andrew and Emma have really thought of everything, their small touches and details really were the cherry on top of an already delicious cake. Location is brilliant, as are the views. Wood fired hot tub alot as was the pizza oven, fireplace and chimney! Would recommend buying a pizza kit for two. Hut is really tastefully down and bed comfy. Feels nice and secluded as well! We just had the best time, hoping to come back soon!

Our stay at the dimspey hut was just idyllic. From the location right out in the country, the wonderful hot tub and pizza oven facilities and little touches of a hot chocolate corner and bacon ready for our breakfast, we lovely every part of it! We were also super grateful for the helpful tips for the area and managed to explore a couple of the restaurants and cafes nearby that were recommended and they were definitely worth going to!
22/07/2022Chloe
We had a brilliant stay at the Hither shepherds hut in Dimpsey. Lovely compact hut with lots of hidden luxuries for us to find! Very quiet and peaceful weekend away. Great place to ‘reset’ and a wonderful place to celebrate my ‘special’ birthday!
26/05/2022Karen
We really enjoyed our stay at Dimpsey Hither. The Shepherd's hut is so cosy and, yet, luxurious at the same time. Creating a treasure hunt for goodies is ingenious - we really appreciated the hidden chocolate goodies and the sleep spray was a really thoughtful touch too. My husband enjoyed preparing the outdoor bath, building and tending the fire and after a meal out at the local Italian, we both enjoyed a relaxing dip in it, before going to bed, all snug and warm in the hut.
25/02/2022Catherine
The shepherd's hut was beautifully decorated and laid out, and all the little touches made it extra special. The hot tub was great - we found the you tube videos really helpful.

We had a wonderful stay, dimpsey was really wonderful. You can tell care has been taken to make the stay comfortable/inviting and relaxing. All amenities were spot on and just as advertised. We used a couple of restaurant recommendations from the owners and both were wonderful.

We had the most amazing three night stay at Dimpsey Hither. We had travelled from a more outdoor staycation in Dorset to end our week with comfort and luxury, it did not disappoint! We had expected to spend our week in august with some southern sunshine however the torrential rain and thunder storms were the perfect alternative for how cosy the shepherds hut is. Emma has thought of everything to make your stay perfect. There are lots of hidden gems to stumble across during your stay and the outdoor hot tub is to die for (most comfortable hot tub by far). The entire trip was a highlight for us and was absolutely faultless. Waking up to a field full of fluffy friends and making the perfect homemade pizza under the stars was an experience we’ll never forget. We also walked to the candlelight inn which was highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyed by both of us. My partner is vegan and had mentioned this when booking, they had a separate menu ready for her on arrival.

Lovely shepherds hut, quiet location, facilities are excellent

It's only our second C&S adventure and we're completely hooked. Hither is such a cute hut with lovely touches everywhere. Thank you Emma and Andrew
24/06/2021Simon
Fantastic stay and we particularly loved the wood fired hot tub (covered and in sheltered spot which was great as was a bit rainy and windy when we were there). So private, tranquil and spotlessly clean which was perfect and we had everything we needed. The welcome booklet was perfect as covered any questions we had. We were a bit worried about not having any phone signal/data for emergencies but we both had 4G which was ideal for peace of mind.
21/05/2021Emma
Emma and Andrew's shepherd's hut and Hikki hot tube are amazing. We had a wonderful stay in spite of the weather. The surrounding are so peaceful and the hut is very well equipped. We had a really relaxing stay.

A tremendous escape from city life. Emma and Andrew are amazing hosts who have filled the shephard hit and property with exquisite details.

Fantastic experience

Beautiful hut, very peaceful and warm and cosy thanks to the lovely log burner inside. We also spent plenty of time in the hot tub - winning all round!
27/10/2019Claire
An amazing stay at an amazing location. We had lots planned but unfortunately the weather had other plans for us. We planned on walking to the pub on the evening of our arrival however, the weather was just too bad. Andrew and Emma were very kind to us and offered us a lift there and back which we cannot be more thankful for. We had more planned for the Saturday but again the weather was too bad to go outside. Luckily the cabin and facilities are so nice and cosy that it really was a blessing in disguise. So many brilliant and intricate small touches made our stay what it was. A relatively easy drive from London I cannot recommend the Dimpsey Shepherds Hut enough. 5* accommodation and the most generous hosts we could have asked for.
25/10/2019Jonathon
Absolutely impeccable. These people truly have thought of everything.
22/08/2019Graeme
Wonderful place! Beautiful setting and every little detail in the hut was perfect. Lots of lovely little extras like sleep well tea bags on the pillows, hot chocolate corner, eggs, bread, bacon and butter as an arrival pack. All amazing! Loved the hot tub and enjoyed cooking outside in the outside oven. Andrew and Emma were lovely too - nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed eating produce from the farm too - the meat was superb.
25/07/2019Laura
It was perfection. The shepherds hut was perfect, beautiful decorated, cosy and comfortable. The pizza we made int he pizza oven has to be the best I have every tasted and such a fun activity. The hot tub was so romantic and a perfect way to finish our evenings off. Would highly recommend Dimsey to friends and family.
11/04/2019Olivia
Our stay at Dimpsey's Shepherd's Hut was fantastic. The setting was nice and peaceful. The hut was so cosy and had everything we needed. Andrew and Emma did a fantastic job of making sure we had everything we needed and the attention to detail was outstanding. They were very responsive if we had any questions and the check-in and check-out were seamless. Would recommend a stay here.

We were very impressed as soon as we arrived, it looked far better in real life than on the pictures. It was very private which a key factor we were looking for. The hot tub was blissful! Easy to get going and very relaxing! There were many beautiful touches and notes around the hut, with a lovely local advent calendar for the days we stayed in December. Fresh mince pies and tea's were left out for us to indulge in, every little detail made the stay much more relaxing!
21/12/2018Elizabeth
We had a wonderful time in this cute and romantic little hut. It has everything you need and is really well designed and stylishly decorated. I loved the woodburning stove which made the place so cosy, waking up to the sheep right outside, the lovely products left for us to use and all the various forms of entertainment. We even managed to get in some star gazing in the hot tub despite a biting north wind - it takes a lot of time and effort to heat up when that cold but it's worth it!
19/11/2018Natasha
A very romantic setting. Beautiful scenery on a small working farm. Emma and Andrew have created a place to kick back and relax. Lots of creative touches to help unwind. We made use of the record player and vinyl there. Essentially you only need to bring a few clothes as they have thought of everything else including towels,( ham-am towels for hot tub), breakfast, milk, games etc.
27/09/2018Sarah
Completely wonderful. Emma and Andrew have a brilliant eye for detail which gave the interior of the shepherds hut a glamourous, eclectic and stylish feel. The wood fired hot tub and outside oven were fantastic. We couldn't have wished for anything better.
08/04/2018Stephanie
The stay was wonderful. The Shepherd's Hut was absolutely stunning and had everything we needed. Perfect for a romantic break - even in the rain!
28/03/2018Millie
Wonderful! Very relaxing and the little touches around the place were very special. The hot tub on an evening with a clear sky will be unforgettable. I will be recommending to anyone who needs a place to unwind!
13/02/2018Josie
Fantastic shepherds hut and for our first experience of staying in this style of accommodation it was delightful. It was exactly like the photos provided infact better, the little surprises and attention to detail was just perfect. It was great not having to pack anything heavy as everything was provided towels, bedding and kitchen equipment. It was just brilliant new both absolutely enjoyed it, great relaxing break.
26/01/2018Emma
My boyfriend and I had an amazing birthday weekend at Dimpsey. Everything was just as pictured and somehow even more.. Emma & Andrew have created something truly special here, every tiny detail has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. On arrival we were greeted with welcome cakes, and provided with the tastiest farm produce we've had. The hot tub was great fun to get started and well worth the wait, the hut is so well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking, drinking, eating and soaking during our stay here. The vinyl player came in handy for some dancing too! Emma was kind enough to taxi us to the wonderful Candlelight Inn, which was the perfect touch! The only bad thing we can say is that we didn't spend enough time here! We will certainly be back in the summer, thank you for being part of our favourite holiday so far! Kez & Josh x
05/11/2017Kesleigh
10/10 doesn't come easily with myself and my partner - and we stay in self catering places for all of our holidays. But for Dimpsey, 10 isn't really enough. Usually, there's something that isn't right, or needs a compromise, or gets glossed over - but this stay? Nothing to improve! My boyfriend and I arrived to the warmest of welcomes and lovely tea tray too, feeling instantly at home. The hut itself was perfectly formed and every last bit of the plumbing/electrics/ various outside cooking options/ hot tub and bed mechanics worked like a dream. It was a fab location, cosy yet spacious, non drafty and spotless to boot. It really was value for money taking into consideration every last detail they provide. Emma and Andrew should be so proud of what they have achieved. To have a hut where several we noted in the visitor books had used it for a proposal means they are offering the very best in experiences. It so happens that we had a proposal too, and were able to have a wonderful meal (one of the best we've ever had) at the recommended nearby Candlelight Inn - which was a nice fresh 20 min walk and enjoyable despite the rain! Thank you so much for the best time ever.
16/10/2017emma
We enjoyed an amazing stay here. The attention to detail is perfect. The welcome we received from Andrew was friendly and informative. We enjoyed using the outdoor bath/hot tub to relax and enjoy the view. The weather was not great on Saturday so we had the perfect excuse to eat a large lunch and then snuggle on the cosy sheep skins and spend the afternoon reading. Bliss.

Well what can I say , this was a stay with a difference, the idea was I was going to ask my partner to marry me in a special way , Emma was at hand right from the start to find the ideal way to do this. She had a jug made with a special message on it , supplied flowers bubbly and chocolates and it all went to plan , the hut itself was brilliant nice location and well setup and Emma was on hand for everything we needed , nothing was to much trouble even on her birthday

We stayed at Dimpsey for 3 nights and had a lovely, relaxing break! Everything was perfect with so much thought to detail. It was so relaxing to wake up to such beautiful surroundings and experience the quiet and tranquillity.

Absolutely fantastic. Beautiful hut with comfy bed and dreamy hot-tub. Great place to unwind
11/08/2017Clare
Every little detail was taken care of, the setting was beautiful, the furnishings were lovely, it could not of been more perfect. From the home made cakes on arrival, to 'hot chocolate corner' and the hot tub, even the cat was the friendliest we've ever had come across. They have created something truly special there, and we're just happy to of had the opportunity to stay there.

We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and I can honestly say that we couldn't have wished for somewhere nicer than Dimpsey for this. The hut itself is beautiful with so many thoughtful extras included. We used a huge amount of the wood provided inside and out as the weather was quite cold but this place is perfect whatever the weather. The view is magnificent and the location so close to great places to visit. We arrived to a lovely welcome pack and the sound of Classic FM on the little radio. I would certainly recommend this place and really hope to return.
29/04/2017Lisa
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Dimpsey for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. From the moment I booked it Emma (owner) was attentive and very helpful. She met us on arrival and showed us around. The hut was perfect with excellent facilities in a tranquil location. It was a quaint and interesting hut but extremely comfortable and good fun. We lay in bed in the morning drinking tea and watching the sheep outside. The hot tub was perfect and we spent many an hour soaking and enjoying the stars or the blue skies. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to anyone! Dinner in the Candlelight Inn and lunch own River Cottage also highly recommended.
24/03/2017Stuart
Fantastic shepherd's hut....every little detail well considered to make it comfortable and practical but charming. We loved the wood fired oven and bath outside! Great walking nearby too in peaceful, beautiful countryside.
13/03/2017Kate
We had the most wonderful time!! It was such a beautiful place to stay, the owners were so welcoming and it was set in a gorgeously quiet location!! The facilities were great and we really enjoyed using the wood fired hot tub!!!
10/03/2017Sheona
What a perfect place to stay for a relaxing weekend! We loved that everything was locally sourced from independent British suppliers. The small details made it for us - the sponge cakes waiting when we arrived, the bacon and eggs for breakfast, the homemade soap, colouring book, games, hot chocolate corner, book shelves full of interesting books... The hot tub was great, even in the rain (we wore woolly hats to keep our heads warm and dry!) Couldn't be better - thank you.
03/03/2017Mariel
A gorgeous little place with amazing views! The Shepherds Hut is so cute and cosy and we loved every minute. We fell in love with its magical charm and in particular Kitty; the fluffiest cat ever!! Getting toasty in the hot tub under the stars was a definite highlight. The Shepherds Hut is the perfect opportunity to escape the world, it was perfect!
17/02/2017Hollie-Anne
We had the most perfect stay at Dimpsey. We arrived in torrential rain and played cards for most of that evening, listening to the horrendous weather outside while we were warm and cosy. The next day was filled with perfect blue skies, sun and many hours spent in the hot tub! A wonderful birthday trip!
06/02/2017Helen
It was perfect in everyway. Emma and Andy were amazing hosts. The hut has everything you need and everything you wouldn't think to ask for. Emma and Andy made my partners 30th special and we will be going back!
19/01/2017Helen
A Very Romantic Stay with my Husband for his Birthday. We arrived in Snow to a lit log burner and mini Sponge cakes. On the second night we managed to get the hot tub up to heat and enjoyed the view of a rainbow whilst drinking Procecco! For our final night we ate smoked Beef Brisket with salad topped off with the husbands chocolate birthday cake! Amazing!
13/01/2017Vicky
It was amazing. A very nice Location and the hut was really impressive. It was very relaxing. I liked the feel to the place and everything we needed was provided.
06/01/2017Robert
It was amazing. The location was perfect, the attention to detail was second to none, from the Hot chocolate corner to finding the hidden Christmas decorations to decorate our own little Christmas tree. The kitchen was well equipped, great size fridge, lovely hot shower, plenty of wood for the wood burner, fire pit and garden oven. We absolutely loved arriving to a blazing fire, music playing on the radio and a tray full of tea, chocolates, cake and a delicious loaf of tomato and basil bread. In the fridge there was also bacon, eggs and milk. Cooking our tea in the garden oven while sipping hot chocolate and watching the sun go down and the stars appear was amazing. The bed was very comfortable as was the bench. Dominoes, colouring book, chess, playing cards and more all added to the relaxation. We truly didn't want to leave, ever!
27/12/2016Cerys
Everything about our stay was amazing, from the location, decor and facilities, gentle relaxed atmosphere, to the thoughtful little personal touches/notes from Emma & Andrew. Dimpsey is just perfect
27/11/2016Fiona
I booked our Dimpsey Shepherds hut break for my girlfriends birthday treat and she loved it! (as did i ofcourse). Emma and Andrew have thought of everything for this little hideaway and its in a great location for walking cycling and generally getting away from all the hustle and bustle and relaxing! Cakes and tea upon arrival, log burner ready lit to warm the hut up and bacon and eggs in the fridge ready for first breakfast - what more could you ask for!? Also the wood fired hot tub and garden oven are a brilliant couple of extras adding to the shepherd huts relaxed surroundings!
19/11/2016Scott
We spent our honeymoon at Dimpsey and had an absolutely wonderful time.
16/11/2016Jenny
From start to finish it was just perfect. Emma and her husband could not have been more helpful or friendly. Every thing 100%. We do intend going back next year.
16/10/2016steve
Our stay at Dimpsey was simply divine. A sheer delight. A real escapism from busy life with all the luxury and home comforts one could ever want. Emma and Andrew were welcoming, friendly and helpful from the offset and nothing was too much bother. Their loving attention to detail is plain to see throughout, and it makes all the difference. Dimpsey is the perfect place in which to enjoy the simple things or from which to explore this glorious corner of the country. Bliss. Keep by a couple of those homemade Victoria sponge treats and pass the diaries - we'll be back.
30/09/2016Liz
My boyfriend and I had a lovey stay in the Dimpsey hut. Emma was very welcoming, and even left me a little birthday cake in the hut on the day of our arrival! The hut is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need to have an incredible stay - it is an impressively small but perfectly formed space! We particularly liked the outdoor wood fired oven, and had also a brilliant meal at the local pub (which is a hilly walk!) followed by an evening star-gazing. The perfect quiet countryside getaway!
25/09/2016Rhiannon
Emma made us absolutely wellcome with food (local eggs and Bacon, Bread and butter, and my special request for a bootle of Bubbly for my wife Pam on her 60th We made complete use of all the gadgets including the record player , replaying all our favourite 60s-90s albums - our LPs which had not be played for years surroundings are idyllic, and the hot tub was a dream, even in the rain, never slept so well , 9 hours strait...unbelievable, the break went too quickly......more please !!
11/09/2016Mike
We had an amazing time! We arrived at the hut to the sounds of classical music playing on the Roberts radio and enjoyed lovely cakes and tea before we fired up the hot tub for the evening! We didn't even mind being holed up with a good book whilst it poured down on Saturday! There were so many little touches that made Dimpsey special; from hot chocolate corner to the record player and classic vinyl hidden away under the daybed - everything was magical!
02/09/2016Michaela
Second stay - wonderfully relaxing, great owners who make you feel welcome - a few days of just enjoying the simple things in life is a great escape :)
24/07/2016Sam
Love! Love! Love! We were lucky enough to stay during the hottest week of the year. We were greeted by Emma who'd left tea and cake in the hut; the perfect way to start our holiday. We did a short walk round the lanes from the driveway. Lovely views and a great walk. We fired up the barbecue and the hot tub and sat outside until midnight. Perfect. Loved hot chocolate corner and made good use of it. We visited nearby Forde Abbey which was beautiful. Kitty the cat made herself known and we loved being surrounded by Hugh the llama, Grorge the goose and the sheep and cows. And to top it off I saw a shooting star. Every little detail has been carefully considered inside and out. Would definitely recommend. Idyllic!
17/07/2016Helen
My husband and I had a wonderfully peaceful stay at Dimpsey. The location was perfect - fantastically rural and 'far from the madding crowd'. Emma had styled the hut beautifully - it was very cosy and comfortable with charming finishing touches. The woodfired hot tub was a dream - the icing on the cake.
09/07/2016Sarah
The location itself was amazing and the attention to detail in the Dimpsey shepherd's hut, second to none. The hosts really have thought of everything from delicious home baked mini cakes and tea on arrival to luxury mini toiletries in the bathroom cabinet. They even had insect repellant in there and citronella candles for outdoors! The decor is beautiful and changes with the seasons, currently in festival mode...!
17/06/2016Dawn
It was the most beautiful and well thought out place anyone could want to stay at. The owner Emma has truly made a peice of heaven. We had a gorgeously prepared shepherds hut filled with all the added details such as wireless radio, games, blankets, hot chocolate. The bathroom was very spacious and had some lovely treats waiting for us. However the outside was the best bit; situated next to sheep ontop of a hill in the middle of nowhere, the view is so relaxing. Surrounding the shepherds hut, there is a fire pit, garden oven and a glorious wood fired hot tub! We spent both evening star gazing either from roasting marshmallows on the fire pit or by relaxing the hot tub. Surrounded by fire and candle lite, nothing is more romantic. Emma has thought of everything: tucked away in a cupboard along side books, games and magazines are all the brochures and maps of things to do. We went to the local forestry commission for the 13 mile bike (managed 7!) And came across cattle and exmore ponies. Pit stopped at a lovely pub, then back to the shepherds hut for a home cooked BBQ; all food and hampers provided by Emma!
03/06/2016Hannah
We are in the process of moving home so we thought a few nights, stress free, away from it all, no hustle and bustle would be just the ticket and boy did it deliver. The crackling fires, chirping of nature and the twinkling starry skies made us loose ourselves from our torrid at home time. Absolutely heaven on earth
30/03/2016Meirion
We had a really magical time in 'our' shepards hut, everything made us feel completly at home and very happy. so easy to get to aswel, just one road of the a303, surrounded by fields you feel like you have your own patch of somerset countryside! we arrrived on friday afternoon which was lovely and sunny, we lite the log burner straight away and the outdoor oven in which you can cook what ever you want!! its ideal! The log burner kept us super cosy warm at night, we even had windows open which was lovely. saturday was raining but we were happy to stay indoors - playing Settlers of Catan which is the perfect game for a shepard hut! (highly reccomend this if you havent heard of it!) it was drizzly outside but we didnt mind, we had a lovely day and by the time we were picked up in Andrews Landy to go to the pub, the sun was out and the sky had cleared -- great local pub, great food and beer and priced well; and the landy was outside ready to pick us up as we finished! the bacon from the farm and the home made fairy cakes were the best we have ever tried! and overall, this is the best place i have ever stayed, every little detail made it truely special, i would go back any day! thanks!
25/03/2016chelsea
Our stay at Dimpsey was absolutely perfect. Emma had thought of every little detail and more besides and I had arranged with her to set up a picnic upon our arrival which was so beautifully laid out and thoroughly scrumptious. The hut is wonderful on every level with so many lovely features - the day bed covered in thick sheepskins and cushions was just divine and the best spot to curl up and read a book. We had great fun with the various fires (indoor wood burner, outdoor fire pit and outdoor oven) and thoroughly enjoyed the pursuing the art of doing nothing in the great outdoors. We had an amazing dinner at the Candlelight Inn one evening too. A perfect experience and we look forward to returning when the hot tub in its secret garden is in place!
21/03/2016Gemma
We stayed for 2 nights. The owners of the property were delightful - very friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. There are plenty of good places to eat and drink and visit nearby. The hut is a real gem - it has been so thoughtfully put together, decorated and equipped. We had a very relaxing couple of days despite poor weather.
19/02/2016Andrew
Dimpsey is absolutely WONDERFUL! A perfect winter weekend getaway. Emma had thought of absolutely everything and we were discovering new hidden treasures the whole trip. We loved the hot chocolate corner. The breakfast she provided lasted us our two night stay (and we've now added cinnamon to the spice rack so other people can enjoy cinnamon French toast!). We'll definitely be coming back in the warmer weather to enjoy the farm and its surroundings (and the hot tub they've got planned!). Thank you Emma for a wonderful weekend. We can't recommend you enough
15/01/2016Bethan
My partner and I had a wonderful weekend in Dimpsey Shepherds Hut despite the weather on the Saturday. Emma met us on our arrival and was very accommodating she gave us a few details about our stay . Emma even offered to take & pick us up from the local pub!! The hut was very welcoming and the attention to detail was excellent. Just before our departure Andrew. ( Emma's husband) introduced himself to us and shared the history of the hut- A great weekend we would definitely do it again .
08/01/2016Rachel
We had a lovely stay. The cabin is super cosy and the surroundings are lovely. Everything we could need was provided... and more, the owner had some geat little attentions such as homemade biscuits (delicious), Christmas decorations, etc. We are already considering going back soon!

Wow! What an incredible weekend. Dimpsey was everything we hoped for and more. Emma has thought of absolutely everything to make the stay a truly memorable experience and nothing is too much trouble. The hut itself is absolutely immaculate, beautifully decorated and finished to an incredibly high standard. The setting is wonderful too; the perfect combination of peaceful English countryside and access to local shops and pubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dimpsey and hope to return soon.
11/12/2015Amy
Wonderful stay at a nice peaceful location. The hut was fantastic- everything you needed was there. Cooked on the fire pit every night, and had a great time- topped off with a proposal! Met the owner who was lovely and friendly and very informative. Cant wait to come back and stay again!
16/10/2015Jon
Wow... Emma has thought of absolutely everything. This is shepherd's hut living at its most luxurious best. The interior finish and style and all the little touches and details are simply wonderful. But it still feels relaxed, cosy and so welcoming. There's great food and adventure to be had all around. Emma will happily point you in the right direction for both. But you'll also be happy just staying put.

We had the most gorgeous stay at Dimpsey, and we’re already missing waking up to the sheep. Emma and Andrew were so helpful, kind and lovely and left lots of little treats for us to enjoy. We have already said we’d love to come and stay in another one of the huts and experience it all over again. It was the perfect trip and we couldn’t be happier.

25/01/2020Michael

05/04/2019patrick

Bliss.

Fantastic shepherd's hut....every little detail well considered to make it comfortable and practical but charming. We loved the wood fired oven and bath outside! Great walking nearby too in peaceful, beautiful countryside.

We had the most wonderful time!! It was such a beautiful place to stay, the owners were so welcoming and it was set in a gorgeously quiet location!! The facilities were great and we really enjoyed using the wood fired hot tub!!!

It was perfect in everyway. Emma and Andy were amazing hosts. The hut has everything you need and everything you wouldn't think to ask for. Emma and Andy made my partners 30th special and we will be going back!

Amazing!

It was amazing. A very nice Location and the hut was really impressive. It was very relaxing. I liked the feel to the place and everything we needed was provided.

Everything about our stay was amazing, from the location, decor and facilities, gentle relaxed atmosphere, to the thoughtful little personal touches/notes from Emma & Andrew. Dimpsey is just perfect

We spent our honeymoon at Dimpsey and had an absolutely wonderful time.

From start to finish it was just perfect. Emma and her husband could not have been more helpful or friendly. Every thing 100%. We do intend going back next year.

Second stay - wonderfully relaxing, great owners who make you feel welcome - a few days of just enjoying the simple things in life is a great escape :)

Love! Love! Idyllic!

(highly reccomend this if you havent heard of it!) it was drizzly outside but we didnt mind, we had a lovely day and by the time we were picked up in Andrews Landy to go to the pub, the sun was out and the sky had cleared -- great local pub, great food and beer and priced well; and the landy was outside ready to pick us up as we finished! the bacon from the farm and the home made fairy cakes were the best we have ever tried! and overall, this is the best place i have ever stayed, every little detail made it truely special, i would go back any day! thanks!

Wonderful stay at a nice peaceful location. The hut was fantastic- everything you needed was there. Cooked on the fire pit every night, and had a great time- topped off with a proposal! Met the owner who was lovely and friendly and very informative. Cant wait to come back and stay again!
