Overview
This incredible space, set back in the woods overlooking the vines of the Black Chalk vineyard, is a place to linger, sip and soak. Enjoy the peace of your treetop bathtub with a glass of Black Chalk bubbles from the fridge, head over to the winery for a tour and explore the beauty of the Test Valley.
The treehouse combines the rustic aesthetic of an old English barn with the highest in build quality and touches of magic that gives you an experience equal parts wilderness and delicious indulgence. There’s local produce in the welcome hamper and artistic, upcycled decoration all around you. Down below you’ll find a firepit where you can wrap up and watch the flames crackle.
Fullerton Farm, the home of The Poppy Treehouse and Wild Escapes, is a beacon of sustainable, thoughtful land management and farming. Much of its 1000 acres is given over to rewilding projects and it’s part of several stewardship schemes. Organise a tasting or a tour of the award-winning Black Chalk winery or simply enjoy your complementary bottle. Either way you’ll end up sampling something delicious before you end the day with a long soak under the stars.
There is a wood-fired sauna to book nearby – with wild swimming also available year-round – and subject to availability you can join local truffle hunts (November - beginning of December).

They wanted to allow others to enjoy the simple pleasure of sleeping among the trees and waking up to lovely views, peace, quiet and fresh air. They were designed and built by the renowned treehouse designer, Will Hardy.

What an amazing stay! The treehouse is really well equipped with everything you will need and more, cosy and well designed. The whole experience was the perfect setting for my proposal to my fiancé and the in room wine tasting was great.

We had a lovely stay for partners birthday, we wanted to go off grid and this was perfect for that! It felt like a more luxurious version of the unplugged stays you can book. I was trying to find something a bit more special and this really was amazing, the kitchen was amazing and everything was very clean. We were welcomed with a breakfast hamper, and a bottle of fizz. From the get go it was perfect, would love to stay again! We wished we booked one more night to really relax, but two was lovely.
16/09/2024Pearl
Beautiful location, treehouse was perfect.

So beautiful, so restful, so luxurious. One of the most special places we've ever stayed! We also loved our wild swim sauna session!
29/04/2024Emily
We booked 2 nights just after new year for a change of scene. The treehouse was more like a luxury cabin with stunning design and views over a vineyard. Fully equipped kitchen with even a dishwasher! Comfy bed and cosy lounge with wood burner. A spacious bathroom with toiletries. An indoor and also outdoor shower as well as a roll top bath on the balcony with privacy curtains and a bath rack with wine holders. I wasn’t brave enough to try that in January! The owners had thoughtfully provided a welcome pack of eggs, butter, milk and delicious local home made bread as well as a bottle of their own sparkling wine. There was even a real Christmas tree fully decorated with baubles and lights.

Our stay was to celebrate my partner's 30th birthday and the treehouse did not disappoint - we loved it. We liked that 'The Poppy' was set back off of the main path and I imagine in the summer (we went in winter) that the trees full of leaves would make it feel even more private. The large windows in the bedroom were beautiful too look out of first thing in the morning from bed. The treehouse itself was beautiful and well thought out.
13/12/2023Abbie
We loved our stay in the Poppy Treehouse. Such a special place in the woods…dreaming of building my own house in the same style! Very high spec and loved the forest views. The Peat Spade Inn recommendation was great too.
16/10/2023Annie
We stayed for a long weekend with our spaniel and we all loved it! It was spacious (but cosy), extremely comfy and the outside bath tub is a great addition! You feel away from everything but it isn't far to get to the local town if you need. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch - and our dog enjoyed his welcome treats!
15/09/2023Joanna
It was the dreamiest couple of days. Literally, we all slept well, we day dreamed, we left inspired and relaxed. The cabin was beautiful, it felt cosy, and the views from every window were so pretty and calming. The outdoor bathroom was wonderful, the biggest bathtub and outdoor shower, surrounded by trees. It felt secluded and private. The amenities in the treehouse were great, a proper little kitchen. The fire pit was a hit one evening with s’mores. The hamper a bottle of sparkling wine from Black Chalk Farm was so delicious. We loved the position of the treehouses by a vineyard and very close by to some pretty villages.
09/08/2023Danusia
We had an amazing first mini break with our two little dogs at the poppy treehouse. Our daughter especially loved the bunk bed, outside bath tub and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. The welcome hamper with the sparkling rose wine was excellent. The treehouse house has everything we needed for our two night stay and the quality of everything was 10/10 We would definitely book again to stay at the poppy treehouse.
31/07/2023Tina
We had the most lovely stay at the poppy treehouse. We wanted to get out into nature and just explore with our two young children. They were so excited about this trip and it didn't disappoint. The outside bath was certainly a highlight with us all! The morning view from our bed was just so peaceful and beautiful. The picture window they had there was perfect. Our bed was so comfortable and roomy. The Poppy had bunk beds (another favourite with the kids!) they are ideal for children - they aren't very big so wouldn't recommend for tall adults/children! The poppy also has a fire pit which was great, children loved that too - this is the closest I'll get to camping so was good fun! There was certainly a lot of thought put into this treehouse, it's incredibly stylish, everything was thought through and it was like home from home. They even provided a mini radio which was great! It was so nice not to have a TV and we spent time playing games with the children and listening to music and going on lovely walks. The River Test is stunning such a beautiful part of Hampshire. We'd certainly go back perhaps in the Autumn/Winter - the treehouse has central heating so that's a bonus!!!
19/07/2023Eleanor
Idyllic escape in the most tranquil setting. Waking each morning with a beautiful framed view of the forest gave us the peace and calm to start the perfect day. The treehouse was incredibly well designed for both form and function. The local produce (eggs, butter, bread and wine) were amazing. And our long walks through meadows, fields and forests, from right outside the door, gave us a simplistic yet perfect break from our hectic lives.
07/07/2023Warren
A fabulous treehouse to relax surrounded by nature. Wild Escapes had thought of everything .. for staying in or going out, as well as making our stay as comfortable as possible. The hamper was perfect, lovely products, we loved the lavender soap in the bathroom.. and the Black Chalk fizz is very good .. so much so we did the vineyard tour and bought 2 more bottles! The bath on the veranda added an extra touch of lux. We live only half hour down the road but loved discovering this little hidden corner of vineyards. Many thanks to Wild Escapes for a great experience
28/06/2023kate
It was great. Amazing weather helped. But the treehouse was amazing.
31/05/2023Rachael
A delightful couple of days of solitude, comfort and beautiful scenery.
29/05/2023Joanna
We had the most wonderful weekend at The Poppy treehouse. It was every bit as stunning and luxurious as the photos suggest - even more so in fact. A gorgeous place to disconnect and enjoy nature. Couldn’t fault a single thing about the property.
28/04/2023Jenna
Amazing treehouse! Really rustic but will fabulous luxuries! We loved the outside bath. Loads of steaming hot water. Such a peaceful location, dog friendly with very comfy beds.

Our stay at the Poppy Treehouse was such a wonderful time away! I booked the stay for my partner's birthday and to say we were both blown away! Secluded in nature, was truly nurturing for the soul, but so exciting! Complimentary local products when we arrived was such a lovely touch to introduced to local produce. We are already looking at doing another mini getaway again!
28/09/2022Amy
What a wonderful place to stay. So peaceful and calm. The treehouse was like a home from home with all the modern conveniences. Beautifully decorated and I’d definitely stay again. This was my favourite treehouse out of the 4 on the site. Really tucked in to the trees so you feel like you’re hidden away in nature.
29/08/2022Jo
Perfect escape. Beautiful location in secluded spot. Lovely walks, plenty places to visit and lots of eating choices. The tree house was cute, cosy and very comfortable. Thoughtfully done. Happily recommend.
30/05/2022Anne-Marie
I booked the Tree House as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday - it didn’t disappoint! The tree house was amazing and had everything we could want or need. The greeting basket was perfect for setting us up for the next morning as we arrived late so most shops were closed. The layout is well thought out and the house was very clean. Our two young boys (10 and 6) were with us and they loved the bunk beads and how much wildlife they could see and hear. There is NO TV or WiFi - which is how we like it! The bead are very comfy and the outdoor bath has plenty of room for two tall adults. It gets VERY HOT regardless of the outside temperature and private. The walks suggested in the book that’s left for guests is very useful. A perfect place to get back to basics. Definitely recommend! We loved it!
27/05/2022Alicia
Truly wonderful

25/04/2022Kate
Place was incredible, everything was high spec, the location was amazing and the outdoor shower and bath just made the weekend
22/04/2022Minal
We absolutely loved the our Treehouse. We stayed in Poppy. The setting by the vineyard was beautiful. But even more impressive was the exterior and interior design of our treehouse. It was so tasteful and comfortable. We loved all the stunning design features. The kids loved their bunk bed! It was equipped with all we needed, only thing I couldn't find was a whisk to make our morning pancakes with the eggs provided! The welcome pack of wine, butter, bread and jam was such a nice touch. The BBQ gear was all fantastic. We also really appreciated all the tips for places to eat and things to do locally, really helpful. Just a wonderful stay.
15/04/2022Rebecca
Our short stay was perfect, the location is beautiful and the treehouse full of rustic charm as well as being incredibly comfortable. From the campfire and outdoor bath to the decking, the whole place in its woodland setting is really relaxing. You can hear woodpeckers during the day and owls at night, with walking trails on your doorstep. The welcome hamper was a nice touch and the kitchen was really well decked out to create a decent meal. The wood burner ensured the whole place was toasty and we couldn’t have asked for a lovelier place to spend a few days. Thank you!
13/04/2022Corinne

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Poppy Treehouse. It was utter bliss. Everything about it was perfect - gorgeous decor, comfy beds, a stunning outside bath and a fabulous location. Completely romantic and yet also entirely practical for families. We're already planning a return visit.
29/10/2021Bethan
We had the most fantastic stay! The location of the treehouses, on the edge of the vineyard, is absolutely idyllic. The Poppy Treehouse offers fabulous accommodation, and provides the perfect environment to kick back, relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature.
04/10/2021Sara
It was SO good we were actually quite taken aback! From the directions, the location, the cabin, the decor, the food. It was nothing short of amazing! Everything about Poppy Treehouse exceeded our expectations by x1000 and we can't wait to come back. There's NOTHING we could fault and now this has gone to the top of our list of 'perfect breaks away'. I almost don't want anyone else to know about it...
01/10/2021Nicola
Absolutely amazing
22/09/2021Gemma
We stayed in the poppy treehouse on a small vineyard in Fullerton for two nights. The treehouse was perfect for a relaxed couple of days in what felt like a very remote location. Fullerton is surrounding by some lovely market towns and villages and has great walks and countryside nearby.
13/09/2021Lynn
We had the most amazing stay. The location was stunning. The tree house was beautifully kitted out. The outside bath and shower was incredible and due to the location was completely secluded. We ate at the Pete Spade pub which was also fantastic. We will definitely go again!
10/09/2021Josie
The treehouse was beautiful and full of luxurious touches. Perfectly secluded, we really felt like we were living amongst the trees!
08/09/2021Jennifer
The accommodation was exceptional, a perfect tree house set in lovely surroundings. The clever layout and nice little extras, such as bath robes and hamper, made the experience even more enjoyable. The attention made to describing the area and places to visit nearby, was really useful, and made our visit run very smoothly. Would certainly recommend this exciting place to stay to friends and family.

Great stay. Lovely, well equipped, spotlessly clean cabin with great welcoming touches.
30/07/2021Dina
Our stay was very relaxing in The Poppy Tree House. All we could here were the birds, just what we wanted. The tree house is spectacular and everything has been well thought through with detail and all amenities for our stay. Where the tree house is located felt secluded and made us feel at ease to use the bathtub and outdoor shower. We stayed during a heatwave which made us feel like we were staying abroad. There’s lots of walks you can take from the tree house which we did and ended up having lunch at the Mayfly which we would highly recommend for the views. In the evenings we made use of the BBQ so that we could enjoy the warm evenings and for breakfast we used items from the hamper that was left for us. The only disadvantage is that you have to keep the noise down as the other treehouses our close by so you should be mindful of that when booking.
19/07/2021Chelsea
The most perfect place I’ve ever stayed. Poppy treehouse has been build with the highest consideration to its environment, I had a lovely immersive two night stay in the woods. Blurred lines between inside and out.
30/06/2021Claire Emma
It was just incredible. What a beautiful setting. The vineyards and surrounding landscape gave us just the escape from busy city life that we needed, and the treehouse itself was just wow! Every single detail of the house was perfect. We liked that the Poppy was a little more private, set back from the main path and nestled in the trees. We sat on the terrace and had our breakfast in the mornings, and had barbecues at night. We also made use of the gorgeous big bathtub. Sitting in the tub when it was pouring rain outside was quite the experience! We took a private vineyard tour and had a wine tasting with Black Chalk Wines in our treehouse, had food delivered by The Food Forager to last us the weekend, and went fishing for trout with Aardvark McLeod and caught a big one for dinner!
25/06/2021Anna Melissa
What a fantastic place to switch off and relax. The deco of the treehouse is amazing and the view into the woods from the parents bedroom was magnificent. A wonderful welcome hamper and fabulous wine from the wine yard. Our daughter loved her little room and was super excited all stay.

Amazing!! As soon as we arrived straight away I was so happy with my decision to book this beautiful location. Everything was communicated clearly by Katie before we arrived. An easy and quick check in! It was honestly one of the best places we have stayed in the UK - we had everything we needed, the best views and we just felt so relaxed. I have already persuaded my parents and a friend to book this! We would really love to go back again one day. I would also definitely recommend going to the Black Chalk Vineyard tour and tasting - it was really good and the lunch was delicious! We also really enjoyed the complimentary bottle in our treehouse along with the other goodies provided.

The treehouse is beautifully designed, comfortable and spacious. We loved the outdoor bath, his and hers sinks and log burner. The kitchen had everything we needed and the welcome hamper and complimentary wine were lovely touches. The location is peaceful and quiet but there are pubs and pretty villages nearby.

We had a wonderful long weekend at The Poppy Treehouse. The location is stunning and the treehouse is FAB! Very comfortable with super interiors - everything you need. My 4 year old and little Jack Russell loved it too. We enjoyed the local champagne, outdoor baths, log fires, bbqs, lots of long walks and local pub visits. It was brilliant!

Bliss. I booked this place in darkest February, dreaming of escaping lockdown London and luckily booked the first weekend of permitted overnight stays. The treehouse is wonderful. Rustic in appearance and really thoughtfully designed. Woodburner - but central heating if you want it. Firepit - but also state of art BBQ. Bottle of champagne in fridge from the vineyard outside the door. Stunning countryside and on a walk I bumped into the farmer who owned the property and he was so friendly, approachable. It was a 'blow the budget' listing on C&S but worth it. It's not particularly designed for children, it seems more of a couples retreat but ours had a great time, particularly around the firepit.

So beautiful, so restful, so luxurious. One of the most special places we've ever stayed! We also loved our wild swim sauna session!

We loved our stay in the Poppy Treehouse. Such a special place in the woods…dreaming of building my own house in the same style! Very high spec and loved the forest views. The Peat Spade Inn recommendation was great too.

We had the most wonderful weekend at The Poppy treehouse. It was every bit as stunning and luxurious as the photos suggest - even more so in fact. A gorgeous place to disconnect and enjoy nature. Couldn’t fault a single thing about the property.

Perfect escape. Beautiful location in secluded spot. Lovely walks, plenty places to visit and lots of eating choices. The tree house was cute, cosy and very comfortable. Thoughtfully done. Happily recommend.

Thank you!

We had the most fantastic stay! The location of the treehouses, on the edge of the vineyard, is absolutely idyllic. The Poppy Treehouse offers fabulous accommodation, and provides the perfect environment to kick back, relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature.

We stayed in the poppy treehouse on a small vineyard in Fullerton for two nights. The treehouse was perfect for a relaxed couple of days in what felt like a very remote location. Fullerton is surrounding by some lovely market towns and villages and has great walks and countryside nearby.

We had the most amazing stay. The location was stunning. The tree house was beautifully kitted out. The outside bath and shower was incredible and due to the location was completely secluded. We ate at the Pete Spade pub which was also fantastic. We will definitely go again!

The treehouse was beautiful and full of luxurious touches. Perfectly secluded, we really felt like we were living amongst the trees!

What a fantastic place to switch off and relax. The deco of the treehouse is amazing and the view into the woods from the parents bedroom was magnificent. A wonderful welcome hamper and fabulous wine from the wine yard. Our daughter loved her little room and was super excited all stay.
