Overview
In the trees overlooking the vines of the award-winning Black Chalk vineyard, this gorgeous treehouse invites you to lie back in the outdoor bath, grab a complementary bottle of Black Chalk’s own, chilled wine, and relax. The winery is a short distance away if you fancy a more formal tasting, but you’re free to wander the beautiful woods and settle where you will for a glass of something chilled and a picnic. Your dog will love it here too, should you wish to bring them.
One of four incredible spaces at Wild Escapes, the Fallow Treehouse puts you instantly at ease in the treetops, with a warm, cosy living space and a bedroom with a brushed white beach house feel and dashes of turquoise. Nature is woven into the space everywhere, from the perfectly positioned sycamore branch to rest your glass on to the local materials of the build and the artisan produce in the welcome hamper.
There is a wood-fired sauna to book nearby – with wild swimming also available year-round – and subject to availability you can join local truffle hunts (November - beginning of December).

Meet Rory and the Wild Escapes team
Having previously commissioned a treehouse on their own land, in 2018 Rory's family decided to build four more in ancient woodland at Fullerton Farm, near the charming village of Stockbridge. They wanted to allow others to enjoy the simple pleasure of sleeping among the trees and waking up to lovely views, peace, quiet and fresh air. They were designed and built by the renowned treehouse designer, Will Hardy.
Wildlife & the environment
The surrounding area is managed with a passion for biodiversity. Each treehouse is created using sustainable and reclaimed materials. They prove that beautiful design and sympathetic architecture can help to protect and nurture the natural environment. Work continues to ensure that their impact is positive – allowing lucky guests to enjoy the simple beauty and importance of the land.

Sue
The perfect couple of nights! Beautiful treehouse carefully designed to enjoy the views over the vineyard and beyond. An amazing welcome hamper to greet us along with a bottle of Black Chalk sparkling wine which we were lucky enough to enjoy a glass (or 2) of on our arrival watching a stunning sunset. The outdoor bath feels luxurious and a privacy curtain allows seclusion whilst still having a view across the vineyard. Cosy evenings spent in front of the log burner to round off our days was just perfect!

I took my wife away to the Fallow treehouse as a surprise getaway and it was perfect! Gorgeous, peaceful and tranquil location with an amazing set up of the treehouse itself. The welcome basket was such a lovely bonus! Thank you, and we most definitely will be returning in the future!
26/08/2024Zoe
It was excellent. Everything I hoped it would be. Tranquil setting in peaceful forest but luxurious at the same time. The surrounding area was also lovely and the river Test is so picturesque.

We had a fabulous stay at the Fallow treehouse! The view over the vines were spectacular and the setting so peaceful, we didn't want to leave. The place was well equipped for self-catering and all the little details had been thought through to ensure a comfortable and luxurious stay. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, especially the Black Chalk bubbles (highly recommend the tour & tasting).

Amazing. Perfect location. Treehouse was unreal.
29/03/2024daniel
The Fallow Treehouse was one of the most beautiful places we had ever stayed. The location of the dwellings are perfectly set upon a vast green field and vineyard which was full of wildlife and sheep. My wife and I both mentioned that we wished our honeymoon was spent there rather than Cape Verde. The facilities provided at the Treehouse were nothing short of luxury and made the stay much more relaxing.
14/02/2024Callum

it’s been a fantastic week for us at The Fallow treehouse. It’s a beautiful, luxurious structure. It only took a few moments of familiarisation and we had taken the treehouse to our hearts. The views are gorgeous. All the products in the hamper were exquisite. We were offered a complimentary cleaning halfway through our stay that we really appreciated. The Fallow treehouse is a wonderful retreat under old sycamores. We are glad we had a full week of exploring and relaxing.
17/07/2023Christina
We absolutely loved every second of it. The tree house was gorgeous, the views fantastic and the peace and quiet was well needed. Loved the hamper, the bread and the butter were especially great. We had 2 lovely BBQ’s and the balcony bath was so relaxing.

Absolutely amazing place, gorgeous views, very clean - the bed was so comfortable and the bedding felt luxurious, even the soap had a lovely aroma! The treehouse has been decorated beautifully and the bath on the veranda is a real bonus too, even in October we used it every night, I would highly recommend the Fallow.

Fantastic ! , The tree house was breathtaking . Beautifully done and all fixtures fittings and furniture were top quality . Fantastic views over the vineyards and the valley . We could sit and watch the deer running on the far side. Great welcome hamper with some essentials and a nice bottle of wine. Super relaxing few days , some lovely walks in the country , some nice meals at local pubs. We loved it and will book this one again.

Absolutely stunning - even better than the photos! The location was amazingly convenient to access from London and yet wonderfully tranquil. The accommodation truly surpassed expectations - the design, views and finishes were superb and we wouldn't have changed a thing.

We had an amazing stay, the tree house was perfect in every way & could tell it was built with thought, love & nature in mind, & the hamper was excellent with the wine such a lovely touch, it was so quiet & what a brilliant location, would definitely recommend & go again.
11/05/2022liz
We were absolutely blown away by the beautiful surroundings of the tree house, where the peace and stillness of the nature truly allowed us to recharge our batteries during the stay, as well the clever structure and the sumptuous interior of the house itself. The owners didn’t scrimp on anything and the attention to detail was evident throughout, whether the cheerful orange colour choice of the kitchen cupboards, stained pale blue wooden cladding of the bedroom, crispy fresh white bed linen or luxurious premium hotel quality towels. The views from the house did literally take your breath away, and this is March we are talking about where the trees aren’t full of leaves yet…Although we didn’t need to light the log burner, just its very presence gave the house that lovely cosy winter lodge feel. We got a hamper with a bottle of the local premium quality sparkling wine, another generous gesture from the owner. But I guess what trumped it all was having a hot bath in a rather large zinc bath tub outdoors while soaking in the sun and taking in the beauty of the vineyard. What can I say, just two very happy customers, oh, and the dog!
28/03/2022Jeffrey
I stayed at the Fallow Treehouse for a solo mindful reset & I was blown away ! Every detail of the treehouse was perfection ! The location is stunning & the accommodation so welcoming and comfortable with very helpful hosts at hand for any enquiries. I had a hand delivery of wine ordered from local vineyard which was divine ! The surrounding countryside is fast I saw wold deer and lots of rabbits . I will definitely be visiting again with my two little boys for a family adventure . And I also must add there was a beautiful equipped room for a doggy to stay with its own bed blanket and bowls ( very cute ) FIVE STARS!
21/03/2022Lauren
It was lovely to get away into nature it was so quiet and peaceful and the views were amazing! The treehouse was beautiful and welcome pack had everything we needed. The local pubs had amazing food and service. Could not fault a thing.
07/03/2022Emilia
This stay was absolutely magical! I cannot express how idyllic the set up is at The Fallow Treehouse. Everything from the layout of the tree house, to the fresh eggs, to the amazing views, it was incredible. We were able to feel like we were amongst nature will having the comfort of luxury facilities.
28/02/2022Sophie
We stayed here for my 30th birthday and it was an amazing experience. As soon as we walked into the treehouse we were wowed by the views. The outdoor bath was a big plus as well as the decking area where we could just relax. Lovely little hamper left for us too I am vegan so couldn't eat much of it but the local bread didn't last long! We unfortunately left one night early as I didn't want to drive through storm Eunice the next day and we were both really sad to leave. Would have loved to have stayed a couple more nights!
16/02/2022Tanisha
We had such a fabulous stay at The Fallow Treehouse. It was simply STUNNING! You can tell the owners have invested in the treehouses, as everything is such high quality. The bathtub on the balcony, overlooking the vineyard, was so beautiful, relaxing and just perfect. It may sound like such a little thing, but the fact you got instant hot water for the outside bath and shower was so good and just shows the work and quality that has gone in to these treehouses. The bedroom with the two large windows giving a panoramic view of the vineyard was amazing. The whole thing was just amazing and I have already recommended to so many people. It was also great for walking, and we had plenty of places to take the dog. It was easy to find a walk straight from the treehouse, without having to drive anywhere. My husband and I always say we wouldn’t stay in the same place twice, but we would make an exception to stay there again!
09/02/2022Lauren
We spent 2 night at the 'Wild Escapes' Fallow treehouse at Fullerton, Hampshire. It was one of the most relaxing holiday stays we have ever had. We loved the treehouse, views, furniture, hamper and just everything about our stay. We ate at local pubs, one of which was in easy walking distance, walked the local area and visited the lovely little town of |Stockbridge which was nearby. We ended up by visiting the Waitrose Leckford Farm garden centre, shop and cafe before leaving the area. Many of these we got to hear about from the information sent online by the owners before we arrived which was very helpful. We really doid have a fabulous time.
07/02/2022Karon
We absolutely loved this trip. We had a windy, rainy day and another filled with sunshine. The treehouse was warm and cosy and absolutely perfect for us and we know that on a warm day, with those doors wide open, it would also be just lovely. I loved the fact that we could hear birds and the rustle of the trees, and also the wind across the vineyard. Plenty of hot water for showers and baths and a perfectly cutlery/crockery stocked kitchen. Loved it and was sad to have to leave. Husband and I sat in companionable silence (ish), each with our own reading material and iPads(our choice) and just let the loveliness of the place wash over us.
04/02/2022Susan
Such a gorgeous luxury treehouse! We loved our stay and looking at at the frosty vibes each morning. The welcome pck was a great touch as was the recommendation for the local pub.
12/01/2022Emily
We had seen a story about the treehouse on TV, and decided on the spur of the moment to book it as it looked wonderful. Despite the time of year (January) we were quite lucky with the weather and had a couple of nice walks around the area, and to the excellent Peatspade Inn.
05/01/2022Alan
We had a lovely time, The treehouse was lovely and felt palatial. Despite it being winter, we enjoyed the experience of bathing outside, but also enjoyed the wood-burner to warn up afterwards! We also liked the added touch of the lovely Christmas tree and lights and the welcome pack was also a nice touch - the butter and eggs were delicious and it was nice to try the local wine.
28/12/2021Sharon
Absolutely incredible location and accommodation. The best place we have ever stayed!!!
15/12/2021Anna
The treehouse exceeded our expectations. It was a magical experience. The space is so well designed and totally luxurious in such a special setting. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom overlooking the vines and countryside were a delight to wake up to. The little thoughtful touches, including wonderful champagne, a breakfast basket, even ice for our G & T's were very welcome. The outside bath is a must, especially while sipping your champagne! We took our dog and there were thoughtful touches for her too, including her own special room, dog bowls and a dog towel. We didn't get in the car again and went on lovely long walks, enjoyed cafes and pubs in the location, as well as enjoying time in our treehouse too. We stopped off at a deli on the way in and stocked up on some goodies which were delicious. There were ample facilities to cook in-house if you wanted, including a dishwasher! Thoroughly recommend a stay here for a special occasion or just for a super treat.
13/12/2021Dawn
We loved the treehouse. It was in a stunning location, unbelievably cosy and quiet, wonderfully comfortable. So many lovely little details thought of, including organic bread, a bottle of bubbly, and eco friendly cleaning products and firelighters. This really is high end. There were only 2 little things we would have changed, is that there wasn’t a recycling bin, and the lights in the bedroom were very bright. But otherwise, perfect!
06/12/2021Julie
We had a wonderful stay. The treehouse was very cosy with a beautiful view of the vineyard. We really enjoyed the comfortable and peaceful surroundings.
18/10/2021Vivienne
Luxury treehouse nestled in the forest overlooking a vineyard. Super local pub with amazing river location (The Mayfly). World class fishing options and views along the Trent River. Local Black Chalk vineyard tour to take.
24/09/2021David
We thoroughly enjoyed the treehouse experience, the decor and finish on the treehouse itself was brilliant. Perfect location and relaxing stay!
22/09/2021Lewey
Our stay at the Fallow treehouse was absolutely dreamy. We simply loved everything about it. The location and the views from the terraces are to die for. Waking up to the sun rising over the vineyards is something we won’t forget for a long time. The house is equipped with every comfort you could possibly need - they even thought of curtains for some privacy while taking a bath! I genuinely can’t recommend this enough :)
20/09/2021Ilaria
Truly amazing, peaceful luxury. Beautiful surroundings and the interiors were superb. Being close to so many amazing places to eat meant we were spoilt for choice. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

It was fantastic! Deffered 30th birthday present for my fiance (thanks covid), when we walked in his reaction was great! The treehouse was stunning, even I gasped and I follow Wild Escapes on Instagram! We chilled on the deck, used the outside bath, heard badgers and birds, rested and recharged.

The treehouse was rusticly chic and comfortable. Well kitted out, the wood burner was cosy when the weather was awful outside. Beautiful views of the vineyard and hills. The Black Chalk wine was really nice - we drank both bottles and bought two more to bring home! Nice walks and the Mayfly pub is a short walk away for food and drink. Stocked up on additional supplies at the Waitrose farm shop and Chilbolton Shop. Welcome hamper had a small loaf, jam, eggs, butter and crisps. We’ll be back....

Our stay in the Fallow Treehouse was brilliant - the setting is incredible and the accommodation is finished to such a high standard. There are beautiful views over the vineyard, and we loved being able to walk from the treehouse to explore the surrounding countryside.

A treehouse on a vineyard... this is my kind of place! You can really feel the love that Will and Katie have poured into their treehouse build and every aspect of our stay at The Fallow Treehouse felt luxurious and relaxing in equal measure. Even on a frosty December night the wood burner, heating and huge bed kept us warm and cosy. I loved flinging open the curtains to watch the sunrise over the vines before hopping in the outdoor tub with my morning coffee. I can't wait to come back for another outdoor bath, with a glass of sparkling wine next time!

Absolute bliss. The treehouse felt really luxurious, everything had been thought of. We were so cosy and comfortable, it didn't matter that the weather was bad, because staying in was so restful and lovely.

Always wanted to stay in a treehouse and this place was amazing. A great location if you want to completely switch off in luxury. Tastefully decorated inside, stunning views and super comfy bed with picture window. Would definitely recommend a stay to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful treehouse. Such a peaceful, nurturing space, nestled among the trees, looking out over beautiful views. This ranks as one of the best Canopy and Stars stays.

it’s been a fantastic week for us at The Fallow treehouse.

We had a wonderful stay at the Treehouses, spoilt with a breakfast hamper on arrival and nested away in luxury for a few days. Perfect for a long weekend exploring stunning chalk trout rivers, beautiful local wanders and sloe berry picking!

Fantastic ! , The tree house was breathtaking .

Such a gorgeous luxury treehouse! We loved our stay and looking at at the frosty vibes each morning. The welcome pck was a great touch as was the recommendation for the local pub.

We had seen a story about the treehouse on TV, and decided on the spur of the moment to book it as it looked wonderful. Despite the time of year (January) we were quite lucky with the weather and had a couple of nice walks around the area, and to the excellent Peatspade Inn.
