Overview
Treehouse artisan extraordinaire Rémi Becherel has taken a leap across the moat and given us a deluxe floating cabin. Built on crumbling castle remains and crowned by a riot of turrets, Château Biron is freshly minted for a medieval fairy-tale.
Your mini chateau is outfitted with a plush king-size bed, walk-in shower, digestif-stocked minibar, WiFi and iPhone dock. The whole space is a great mix of roomy and homely which is kept warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Bon vivants will love their morning hamper of organic jam and obligatory flaky croissants; best served with a café au lait from your Dulce Gusto machine.
Aside from lazing idly in your crème-de-la-crème floating hot tub, there’s an open use pool, pétanque and Ping Pong table or you can explore the 27 acre estate from the seat of a country bicycle.
***Please note the swimming pool is only open early May to late September.

The Puybéton estate is set in eleven hectares of park and woodland. A private house, the three treehouses constructed on the site of an old château, and the floating cabin are the only accommodation on the estate.
Rémi has been building treehouses with his company Nid Perché for eight years. These treehouses and the floating cabins are the result of his desire to create beautiful, unusual places to stay whilst taking care of the environment.
Wildlife & environment
Rémi uses locally-sourced, untreated wood to build his treehouses and cabins and these have a very low carbon footprint - they were put together just down the road at Nid Perché. The insulation is made of wood fibres, and waste water is treated using a microfiltration system. Ecological cleaning products are provided and recycling facilities are available.
In terms of wildlife, the estate is peacefully populated with deer, wild boar, birds, squirrels and rabbits, and you can walk amongst the ancient oak, chestnut, hornbeam, ash, and walnut trees...

Stayed in log cabin on small lake. Very clean and tidy, excellent breakfasts delivered right to door. Clean towels and robes. Shower brilliant. Most days had lazy breakfast and then tootled off to local medieval villages (too many!) Had dinner out and on last night staff recommended local restaurant (La Dolce Vita) which was brilliant. Can't fault anything....except...how about full length mirror....somewhere!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The Chateau was beautiful & the surroundings were perfect.
12/08/2019Jane
Everything was stunning! Truly a unique experience and the grounds offered a lot to do too - swimming pool, tree house, hikes and loads of animals
06/06/2019Laura
We were looking for a relaxing three nights away where we could enjoy the venue we were staying in, whatever the weather...and we certainly got this! The site was a short drive (40mins) from Bergerac airport and we had a beautiful chateau-style treehouse on the lake, with an undercover outdoor hot tub. We spent most of the three days we were there in and around the cabin, only heading out once to a lovely local market (Monpazier) for some supplies and then twice for some incredible dinners nearby (Le Table du Leo and L'Atelier, both 20mins from the site). The cabin itself was beautifully decorated, well equipped and perfect for a few days of doing very little. The rest of the site included a ping pong table, pool (summer only) and treehouse terrace. Breakfast was left in hamper outside our cabin every day, so we weren't disturbed by its arrival. The hamper included croissant, jams, baguettes, cheese, ham, coffee and tea. We also ordered a dinner hamper which included foie gras, duck sausage, ratatouille and two half bottles of wine - delicious! A cooked dinner was also available, but needed ordering a day ahead. Overall, we'd highly recommend Chataeu Biron to all!

We had the most amazing time while staying here. Was so lovely to be away from any hussle and bustle. Our chateau was so stunning and so peaceful.

We booked this for our minimoon and we were not disappointed! The setting and cabin are both stunning. The pool is lovely and you can play pétanque, table tennis and go for a lovely stroll round the grounds. The location is great for exploring the Dordogne. You can’t walk to a restaurant but we had the in house chef’s meal one night and bread and cheese another night. They also include a breakfast hamper each day!

What a place! The view alone is stunning and the cabin is amazing. It's spacious, luxurious and very well kept. Breakfast was scrumptious and generous. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
03/10/2017Rachel
The cabin was everything I hoped it would be, beautifully presented and a fabulous view. We ordered the regional hamper for our first evening meal and sat on our terrace to eat it watching the sun go down. Breakfast was delivered as arranged in a picnic hamper and it was excellent. It was so hot we decided to stay by the pool most of the day relaxing, and most of the time it was just the two of us so it was like having a private one. Later in the day we ventured in to our private hot tub and watched the ducks on the lake that surrounded our cabin. The other tree houses looked amazing but we were glad we had chosen a floating one. The grounds surrounding all the cabins were beautifully laid out and maintained adding to the peacefulness. The staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. We wished we were staying longer as it was so relaxing.
04/07/2017Diane
The footing castle is beautiful and very thoughtfully equipped and furnished. A bit isolated from restaurants and disappointed not to have had shampoos etc. But everything else was lovely.
21/10/2016Rowena
Beautiful location, gorgeous accommodation finished to a high standard. Exceptional friendly staff, who were so helpful. There was plenty of places of outstanding beauty nearby to visit and superb food and drink everywhere! We will certainly come back again.

Our stay at Chateaux Dans les arbes was amazing. It is such a unique place, you feel like you have the whole place to yourself and it is such a relaxing place to be. We stayed in the chateaux on the lake and it was stunning! Watching the sunrise from our bed on the morning, then eating breakfast on the veranda whilst listening to the ducks and water was amazing. The hot tub was a great addition and perfect for a relaxing evening!! The swimming pool is beautiful and the service was great! I can't recommend this place enough!

We had an amazing 2 nights in the floating Chateau - the views from our room and from the pool were simply breathtaking! The room felt more like a luxury hotel room rather than a floating treehouse and the private hot tub was amazing. The breakfast and dinner hampers were a really really special touch. A perfect stay and could of happily stayed longer.

The photos barely do this place justice. Superb in every way. The chef prepared meals were amazing, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten meat that tender, and saved us going out to get food so we could spend more time at this magical place. Just ducks and fish for company and mesmerising views of the Milky Way. I already want to go back!
