Overview
Just south of Castle Cary by a few miles, the little village of Yarlington is hiding a big secret – the stunning Yarlington House, and even more spectacular grounds, in which you’ll find Yarlington Yurt. Ever evolving, this little slice of calm is surrounded by parkland and wildlife. Its latest iteration is a bright and colourful set of interiors, recently reimagined by the owner’s granddaughter, Jessie de Salis, who’s a Bristol-based artist and printmaker.
You have a main sleeping pod with a double bed and a living space, and an adjoining pod with two single beds – perfect for families, or a group of friends looking to explore this scenic, foodie part of the world. Speaking of, the other tent is your kitchen, with two gas rings for cooking and a microwave – there’s even a BBQ outside, should you prefer something smoky and grilled.
Despite the canvas exterior, you have mains electricity, hot running water and even a wood burner for cooler nights – but warmer ones are where it gets exciting. The outdoor pool’s open by request – and wandering back to your space, with hair still damp, you can wander the walled gardens, or play lawn games on the grass. With farm shops at every turn nearby, and pubs stocked with fresh local cider, this is the perfect place to enjoy Somerset.

Getting there
Yarlington House, Somerset BA9 8DY
What3Words: mailings.spite.spotted - What3Words is a new more accurate version of a postcode. This will take you directly to the entrance of the estate so we recommend using this in your Sat Nav, but always remember to look at the owners’ directions too!
By train
From Paddington: Exeter & Penzance line to Castle Cary (1 hr 40 mins)
From Waterloo: Exeter line to Templecombe (1 hr 50 mins)
By car
Using the post code BA9 8DY will take you to the middle of Yarlington village. With your backs to the Church and the pub, The Stag's Head, take the middle road of three roads, signposted to Wincanton. Go up the hill past a telephone box on your right and Yarlington House is the gate posts at the top of the hill.
Guests arriving after 6pm
Come up the drive, take left fork and come into the courtyard. Park facing the wall by garage. Inside the garage, is a wheel barrow and metal trolley. Pop your luggage on these. Facing this wall, walk through the gap at the end (between it and a cottage), and turn left down a slope. Walk down concrete path and bear left, leaving the farm buildings on your right. Stay on a short bit of concrete towards some big concrete blocks, or there may be just bollards.
By now you will be on grass, possibly with this barricade in front of you. Walk past this, bearing left and past the kitchen garden which will now be on your right. With a bit of luck a sensor light will come on. At the end of the path there is a big black metal gate on your right. Go through here, but please close it afterwards (badgers, deer, rabbits etc!). Walk straight on up, turn right at the top, and there is the yurt.
For guests arriving at night, please bring a torch, hopefully the censor light will come on. The lights for the main pod are on top of the bed, on the left. The kitchen light is on the far left, beside the toaster. There is a light inside the compost loo, on the left wall. Just press the switch on it. The rule here, is that gentlemen have to sit down!
The shower is behind the kitchen. This floods very easily, so do not use too much water.
Wood is either in the box at the back of the compost loo, or in another box behind this.
When you go out for the day, it is not necessary to close the yurt with the ropes. There is an inner line of Velcro, which is sufficient.

The Count and Countess Charles de Salis have lived at Yarlington very happily for over half a century. With help from their four daughters, they’ve restored Yarlington House to its original grandeur, and wholly created the impressive gardens. The idea to put a yurt on their land came from Charles and Carolyn's boundless energy and eagerness to try new and exciting ideas.
The space has been recently revamped by the owner’s granddaughter and cousin, Jessie de Salis and Alice Jacoby, both artists and printmakers. This labour of love has seen the space become awash with bright colours, all created with recycled materials – from painted furniture to quilts made from samples.
Wildlife & environment
Avid recyclers, Charles and Carolyn aim to run their house with minimal waste. The kitchen garden provides seasonal produce for the house’s delicious breakfasts and for guests to buy. Produce is available by arrangement with the gardener. The yurt and the kitchen and bathroom tent are both built by Albion Canvas from sustainable, carefully sourced materials. There's a rather charming private compost loo for guests of the yurt.
The large, flower-filled gardens are home to numerous species of butterflies. The area also supports deer, badgers, buzzards and rabbits. 40 minutes' drive away there is Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve, famous for its birds.

Our guests say...
Matthew
Absolute heaven is to be found at Yarlington Yurt. Secluded, quiet, with everything you need for a superb glamping experience. Our 7 year old totally loved it, as did we. (We also love the new fabrics and cushions!) Can't wait to return for a third visit...
29/07/2024Anna
We had a great time on the estate. The yurt was great for us as a family of four with children aged 8 and 4. We loved the privacy we hadbut knew that if we needed anything we could ask Richard or Carolyn.
26/07/2024Bob
I took my 13yr old twins to Yarlington Yurt for a lovely 4 night break. We has such a relaxing time, completely disconnected from the outside world. We played games, read books, wondered the beautiful gardens and jumped in the pool on the sunnier days. The yurt is very secluded in its on walled garden away from the estate. You have plenty of space and privacy, yet Richard is on hand if you need anything. We cooked on the BBQ a couple of times and the kitchen is really well equipped too. The double bed was so comfortable, and we loved the interiors, designed by Jessie! Can't wait to return!

Just returned from a wonderful trip. We tied in our stay with the Opera held every two years at Yarlington so had culture & a special weekend in nature. It is worth seeing what events are happening at the house so you can stay over at the Yurt.We enjoyed peace & quiet with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. We cooked on the BBQ, had a picnic, played games & sat around the firepit and stargazed. We were lucky enough to spot a barn owl in the next field one evening and to fall asleep to the sound of a shower or two on the skylight at night was so relaxing. Richard gave us a tour of the grounds and vegetable garden and both he and Carolyn were so welcoming and on hand if we had any questions. We had a trip out to Sherbourne but to be honest we were at our happiest just hanging out as a group of friends together at the yurt. The weather was a little rainy at times but we sat and played Uno in the kitchen when we couldn't be outside. Jessie's furnishings and decoration of the yurt is cheerful , unique and we all want the cushions for home! Thank you for a lovely stay and we will be back as we didn't even have time to squeeze in a dip in the pool this time round with so much to do!
14/06/2024Jo
We had a two night stay in Yarlington Yurt. Very cosy and clean.
29/04/2024Angie
We had a truly tranquil and relaxing time at Yarlington. The Yurt itself was magical and well equippped. Having the Yurt in a private corner of the estate with access to a kitchen garden for fresh salads and a swimming pool was so lovely. Plenty of space around the Yurt to play and relax with the kids too.
25/08/2023Brij
Our family had a wonderful stay at Yarlington Yurt. After a lovely welcome, we had a short tour of the grounds and the stunning gardens by Richard and then went to explore the fabulous yurt. The yurt itself is quirky and fun, perfect to cosy up in at night yet equally as nice to sit outside and listen to nature. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility the yurt offered which allowed for quality family time. The kids could explore the garden independently and safely as there are decent boundaries in place to achieve this such as the high walls of the secret kitchen garden, the hedgerows and the beautiful gates to enter this garden. Exploring the garden and splashing in the outdoor pool was their absolute favourite. Located within beautiful grounds but also accessible to many places, be this a country walk to the pub or a short car trip to Wookey Hole Caves, the yurt has a lovely location. We absolutely loved our stay here x

Charming, magical, peaceful escape in the Somerset countryside. Venue chosen to celebrate a special birthday with friends and family and it was perfect. Carolyn and Richard helped us settle in quickly and were there if we needed anything. The gardens were stunning. The pool was a big hit with our 10 year old. The compost loo was a big talking point and an acquired taste but had great views! Recommend a trip to The Newt and Hauser & Wirth in nearby Bruton. A very memorable venue and birthday and highly recommend.

Thoroughly relaxing 4 days away for our third stay at Yarlington Yurt.
26/06/2023Andy
Peachy as usual. We fall into holiday mode immediately and the effects linger long after we leave. Great base to explore from or to just be there. Everyone on the estate is wonderful.
29/05/2023Matt
We had a wonderful time at the yurt. Not only were the scenes spectacular but Richard and the locals were lovely and really May our stay great.
05/05/2023Bailey
Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts. We had the most beautiful time staying in Yarlington House Grounds in the our yurt. My teenage son and husband were a little curious when I had told them we were staying in a place with no wifi, no tv and a composting toilet, however, after our 3 night stay the whole family said they would definitely return. Quiet, idilic and plenty of space to walk. A fantastic location, visiting lots of local sights. We chose Longleat Safari and Haynes motor Museum along with beautiful country walks and food in local pubs.
07/04/2023Tara
The best thing about our stay was feeling like we were really away from it all. The yurt is beautiful and has everything you need. The pool was idyllic. We'd come back again in a heartbeat.

20/08/2021Sarah
This was our fifth/sixth visit to the Yurt. We always have a wonderful time there. The people whom live and work there are fabulous; friendly, helpful and living an inspiring life. The sense of being in nature and away from it all is very curative; soon after arriving it is as if we belong. We find peace there.
02/08/2021Matthew
We had a wonderful stay at Yurlington Yurt. The setting is absolutely beautiful, the hosts were full of information about the grounds and the local area. The yurts themselves were cosy and well stocked.

Yarlington Yurt was a beautiful place, even in the poor weather it was very comfy and sheltered from the elements, it was exceptionally clean and well looked after and the people running it were friendly, helpful and full of information about the local area, couldn't recommend the place high enough.
21/05/2021Simon
Despite the wet and windy weather we had a lovely time. The Yurt was warm and dry and the kitchen and shower were everything we needed. Richard was welcoming and helpful and both the Count and Countess came out to see us, which was a great pleasure. Lovely gardens and a good base for local sightseeing. We hope to go again next year.
07/05/2021Stephen
It was peaceful and a great place to unwind.
12/04/2021Annika
We had a lovely time at Yarlington, Richard was very helpful and welcoming as he showed us around. The yurt was beautiful inside and there was plenty of wood to keep the little wood-burning stove going. We had a great time exploring the surrounding area.

We went to this Yurt for a little getaway with our son as a 'first camping' style holiday for him and he absolutely loved it. Plenty of wide, open space for him to run around in and lots of nooks and crannies to explore - tent was fairly toddler friendly (just had to keep an eye over the log burner) but we all had a lovely time. The owners were very kind and made an effort to have a chat and welcome us to the property and the caretaker (?) Richard was wonderful to chat to. The offer of some fresh greens from the kitchen garden was a lovely touch and we went home with so much we're still eating it now nearly a week later! An absolutely wonderful touch - I've never seen a 3yo so excited about vegetables! Heartily recommended and we hope to return.

We had a wonderful time and the customer service was beyond excellent. There were various amenities that were recommended like alfreds tower and Sherborne ,witch were both beautiful and full of things to do The grounds were glorious and full of space and we played many games of football, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would Definitely recommend it To freinds

My husband and I and our two sons had a wonderful time staying in Yarlington Yurt. The setting and gardens are beautiful. We walked to The Staggs Head Inn for dinner the first evening, which was excellent. On the second evening we had a BBQ, with delicious produce from the walled garden, thanks to Richard. We also had a wonderful walk to North Cadbury, and a picnic.

Fantastic minibreak in a beautiful setting with very comfortable accommodation. Hosts are welcoming but not intrusive. They kindly allowed the children to swim daily which was a real highlight. Lovely and quiet but with some great attractions within easy driving distance.

Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful.

Our stay in the yurt was perfect. At the back end of summer when the nights start to get colder, the 5 of us were perfectly comfortable. The yurt in set in beautiful surroundings which can be mostly roamed freely. All the sites of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire are all easy accesed thanks to yarlingtons location. The hosts were accomodating and helpful.

We has a brilliant time and would love to come back.

This has become a home from home for us. A lovely place to stay and Carolyn, Charles and team are all lovely to be around. They've created a special place and their love of it was felt. Great for kids, great place for exploring near and further, good wildlife. Shooting stars, Milky Way, apples, deer, blackberries. The real good life.
26/08/2019Matthew
We had a lovely magical experience and a definite get away from it all break and relax. Use of the owners Pool and the walled fruit and veg gardens were an extra bonus.

Very lovely place on the grounds of an impressive estate. As guests, we seemed to have nearly the full run of the place, something that our children really enjoyed. The swimming pool was a great amenity, but we were also perfectly happy staying in our own patch of the grounds at the yurt. The pub down the road was friendly and the food was nice, too. Nearby towns, sights and walks were all enjoyable.
02/08/2019Erik
My son and I had a wonderful two nights staying in the very comfortable Yurt. Set in beautiful gardens it was so peaceful. Carolyn de Salis was most welcoming. The surrounding countryside is lovely and local restaurants shops and galleries are fantastic.
10/05/2019Narell
A charming cosy yurt in a private extensive garden and grounds that we were encouraged to explore. Charles and Carolyn were on hand should we require anything, and were very interesting hosts when we got to chat to them. Despite cold October nights the wood burning stove kept the yurt comfortably warm and there was plenty of hot water in the adjacent shower and kitchen facility.

Myself and three friends went to stay at Yarlington Yurt this weekend. We all needed a getaway from every day life and this was perfect. Beautiful setting, beautiful yurt and plenty of countryside peace and quiet.

We had the best time! It was Thomas's (age 15) first stay in a yurt and it was perfect to see him so relaxed and in his element, he wanted to stay forever! He especially enjoyed having the use of outdoor pool
13/08/2018Beth
Fantastic, amazing setting, greeted by friendly staff who maintain the Estate. Everything was clean and ready for us, even firewood, matches and so on. The Estate team were great - they showed us how everything worked, talked to us about local places to visit and were great talking with our Children, but they didn't approach the Yurt or give you any idea anyone else was about.
30/07/2018Paul
I booked this to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday with our two close friends as we all love to glamp, I was struck by the charm and what they had to offer for us for our long weekend. Although there wasn't any salt, pepper or hand wash to use we loved using the pool during the heatwave, the shower had great power and the bed was so comfortable. I slept really well and although I tend to not sleep well on the first night away from home, I slept through the nice easily which must mean that I felt very safe, comfortable and relaxed. It did heavily rain on our last night which meant that the noise of the heavy rain was difficult to sleep through for some of us, I myself found it soothing. The yurt was really hot in the day but cool in the evening which wasn't a problem as we went out during the days. We loved the barbecue and had barbecue dinners for the Saturday and Sunday using fish from Lyme Regis which is a very beautiful spot. I would definitely recommend staying at the Yarlington Yurt as it was wonderful with lovely hosts to welcome us into their grounds, gardens and estate.
29/06/2018Sophie
We had a really good few days, it was a great surprise for the people I was with, despite the weather being not so great, we spent most of one day listening to the old radio and had a fire going. It was nice to wander around the gardens.
06/11/2017Alison
Our stay at the Yarlington yurt was perfect. We had the best time. Relaxed and spent quality time together. It was so far removed from our usual busy lives and we will definitely be back. The little touches here and there made such a massive impact. Wonderful. Thank you to Charles and Carolyn.

Lovely, cozy Yurt in a very good area of natural beauty and places of interest.
24/10/2016Hannah
Fab-u-lous. The Yurt was surprisingly warm and cosy. The children loved their little room and the outside space to explore.
19/10/2016Alison
This was a short honeymoon for us. We were given the 2 night stay in the yurt by my office colleagues as a present. The place was very easy to find and if we'd had expectations of it, it would have far exceeded them. Beautifully furnished and cosy and warm from the moment that we arrived. The owner was lovely and welcoming ... she lead us to the yurt, showed us around and left us alone for the entire stay ... just what we wanted! Of course it helped that the weather was unusually good for the time of year - we even managed to make use of the bbq facilities. The yurt is situated in a quiet spot behind a large walled garden - extremely private and has all the facilities that we needed, including a lovely shower.
17/10/2016John
Our stay at Yarlington Yurt was amazing! My 20 month year old daughter had an amazing time running around the grounds, exploring the secret garden and meeting lots of wildlife! It was a brilliant weekend away from modern technology and just what myself and my husband needed! We would highly recommend the yurt and would like to go again next year!
23/09/2016katy
I wanted a unique experience for my wife's birthday and this delivered in spades - yurt was fantastic, comfortable with everything you needed (beds, fire, kitchen, shower). Our hosts, Carolyn and Charles were very welcoming, breakfast in their house was great and the tray of pears when we left was a lovely surprise. Weather was not on our side but we got to visit a lovely part of the world, stay in a glam yurt, meet interesting people and eat some great food - perfect!
02/09/2016Liam
We had a fabulous stay at Yarlington Yurt! It is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. We loved being able to let the children run and play. We would recommend it to everyone we know!
19/08/2016katie
There was myself, my daughter and 2 grandchildren staying in the yurt - we had a lovely time - the hosts allowed use of their pool and it was just beautiful- really safe peaceful and quiet - I would definitely visit again !!

Camping, even glamping, requires a bit of a Famous Five pioneering spirit. But to camp with plentiful hot running water, power sockets in the tent, and a fridge/freezer, does balance nicely the experience of the outdoor loo! Personally I found the Thunderbox experience to be very exotic- moonlight over the wildflower meadow viewed from on high (my teenage daughter found it less so). The beds are comfy, the antiques quirky and fun, the wood burner effective and the location private and beautiful. The hosts were warm, generous and down-to-earth, giving us free rein over the luscious but not over-manicured gardens, and we even got to swim in the heated pool when the weather was kind to us. Yarlington is a good location for exploring- some good pubs in the area, especially The Queen's Arms at Corton Denham for food. The village pub is solid and friendly and just a hop away. Lovington's Bakery in Wincanton for cinnamon rolls, excellent pizza at At The Chapel in Bruton, Thai food in Castle Cary.
30/05/2016Heather
We had a fabulous time at Yarlington. The yurt was exceptionally cosy and well-appointed, the setting was idyllic and the hosts very congenial and welcoming. We intend to come back soon
11/04/2016Rachel
4 of us stayed together for a girlie weekend. We loved it... the yurt was quirky and cosy and there was plenty of space for 4 of us. Charles and Carolyn were great hosts and we were very lucky to have beautiful weather..
01/04/2016Anna
Absolutely amazing! The yurt was utter luxury and the most comfortable bed either of us have ever slept in! The hot water was unfortunately not working due to a broken boiler, but Charles and Carolyn didn't hesitate to invite us to take a hot shower in their house which was wonderful! So many of our friends are now looking to book as a result of our Facebook ravings!
04/12/2015Hayley
We are all three retired friends who like to do different things , hence the appeal of the yurt We were impressed at the concept - main living area, kitchen area and bathroom area. Loads of hot water and the log fire was great. Also there were two electric heaters for the cold nights. The thunderbolt toilet was an education! We were able to wander round the beautiful grounds at will. On the full day we walked using lanes and public footpaths to Castle Cary and back. We also took the opportunity to visit Stourhead.
09/10/2015Jan
Lovely place, sweet gardener who welcomed us, lovely wide space to ourselves, very private and safe
02/10/2015Kate
We had a wonderful time in the romantic yurt, the setting was beautiful and the whole place magical.
18/09/2015Anna
relaxing, quiet, enojyable
17/08/2015neil
It far exceeded our expectations the Yurt was unique and so comfortable, Yarlington House and its grounds were spectacular, the kitchen garden was so amazing we ate ripe plums and picked blackcurrants. Our children played in the woods, climbed trees, collected bugs and played outside until late in the evening. We totally switched off from the hustle and bustle of life for four sunny days. It was beautiful, peaceful and very special holiday, one we won't forget and will do again. The staff and hosts were welcoming and helpful..we feel as though we have stumbled onto something truly special here.
27/07/2015Claire
This was a birthday treat for me from my two best friends and we wanted to do some sightseeing around Somerset so the location of the Yurt was perfect as it was close to Stonehenge, Glastonbury and Wooky hole. What an amazing place. The views were breathtaking and the lord and lady welcoming and friendly. The invitation to use their pool on the hottest day of the year was the highlight of the stay! We loved it and will definitely be back.
01/07/2015Lyndsey
It was fabulous. A little bit of luxuriously getting back to basics.
01/05/2015Clare
lovely, just lovely. peaceful with welcoming hosts. made even better by the great bank holiday weather.
06/04/2015rebecca
It was a lovely weekend getaway.
27/03/2015Michelle
"It was utterly magical.Hosts, Caroline & Charles, were lovely and welcomed us into their slice of Eden. Yurt was perfectly suited to our two little boys who thought their bedroom was fab. They were fixated on the twinkly stars in the ceiling too.We only live a few miles away but we felt we're really "escaped". We especially loved the decor, everything had had so much care, thought and creativity lavished upon it. We'd love to come back in the summer"
07/11/2014Emma
"The stay was lovely and the yurt kitchen/shower and main room were all cleaned to a good standard. There was a little bit of obvious wear and tear around the place but not enough to complain about. The price was probably a little bit steep. I found the best uncomfy but my bf didn't so that was probably just down to personal preference. Would have been great if the owners had a little info pack just so we could be sure we were doing everything right, and also advertising some local things to do! Brilliant communication with the owners leading up to our stay and good directions on how to get to the yurt in the dark"
31/10/2014Natasha
"We had a fabulous time. The yurt was great and the location was perfect."
18/08/2014David
"We had an amazing time. The location was stunning, beautiful grounds & the yurts were very well equipped we had everything we needed for the weekend. Waking up to just the birds singing, a view of the flower meadows & cooking breakfast on the BBQ - what more could you ask for? Plenty of green space for the kids to run around & play. The facilities were great & the owners very friendly & helpful. We will be back!"
16/05/2014Clare
"It was very restful and the accommodation was all that we had hoped for. The whole stay was great from the friendliness of the hosts right through to the location and the quality of the facilities. The ladies in our party were not so happy with the compost loo! The stay fully met our expectations - and more...."
07/04/2014Graham
"Great fun, especially the log burner warmth on a wet day."
25/10/2013Yvonne
"Yes, it was beautiful, peaceful and we had everything we needed for a lovely family break."
04/10/2013Kirsty
"We were only there three nights, but really enjoyed our stay. My seven year old son loved the outside compost 'Thunder Box' - mainly because he got to have his own torch! Even in my local area I don't let him roam out of my sight beyond the home, but both he and I felt perfectly happy for him to explore the Victorian 'Secret Garden and fetch some of the free fruit and veg left for us on the gardeners bench around the far side of the walled garden by himself. He also loved dragging the 'all terrain' luggage trolley around on his foraging trips. All three of us had fun using the pool up near the main house, with the kind permission of the owners. My young son made enough noise to be mistaken for a coach load of school children, but the owners were happy that he had so much fun."
30/09/2013Steven
"Location and the number of rooms - we have 2 small children but also wanted a bit of privacy. I would change nothing. The best thing were the great facilities at the Yurt."
27/09/2013Alex
"Even though it was in a remote location, we didn't feel totally alone - the gentleman that showed us around had fab knowledge and really welcomed us. I think the pool use gave us an added dimension that we couldn't find anywhere else and made it feel like we were "on holiday" as we are so used to travelling overseas instead of the UK."
05/08/2013Alison
"Total privacy in beautiful surroundings with use of the owners' outdoor pool. The separate kitchen/bathroom tent was fantastic and we also used the bbq and chimnea with the outdoor furniture."
28/07/2013Nicola
"It was absolutely the perfect place to celebrate my best friend Lisa's special birthday. Carolyn and Charles are fantastic hosts and the yurt has to be experienced to fully appreciate how special it is. Complete seclusion and everything you could wish for....Heaven."
13/07/2012Pat
"Absolutely fantastic stay - even with some rain it was a wonderfully romantic retreat, lots to do in the area. amazing heated pool that the De Salis' let us use. everything you need is there or within arms reach. It was lovely to awake to the mooing cows in the next field!"
08/06/2012Emma
"We had a fantastic weekend at Yarlington Yurt. The yurt itself was lovely and more than lived up to our expectations. It was incredibly private and we found it very relaxing. Charles and Carolyn were very hospitable - they invited us to a jubilee celebration in the village which we thoroughly enjoyed. I particularly liked the fairy lights on the ceiling in the main yurt - it gave it a real magical feel. My eldest daughter (18yrs) did not like the compost toilet, but the rest of us were quite fascinated by it - it is an acquired taste!I would highly recommend this yurt to anyone who likes to get away from it all."
01/06/2012Heather
"Our stay was so wonderful. We couldn't recommend it highly enough. Charles and Carolyn were so welcoming and hospitable. We shall definitely be paying them a visit again. It was luxurious, and exactly as the pictures looked. A truly wonderful little haven in Wincanton."
24/02/2012Leila
"The Yurt is a work of art and the attention to detail is a delight. We were overwhelmed by the space, peace and tranquility. The Yurt is perfectly situated, only overlooked by a filed of friendly cows. I couldn't recommend a stay in this perfect location highly enough, we could both feel our blood pressure coming down as the stresses of the 'real world' disappeared. Please, Please visit - you will not regret it! The warm welcome from Carolyn and Charles was a huge bonus and we were even invited to watch the Royal Wedding in Yarlington House which made a great occasion great fun!"
25/04/2011Nigel & Judith
"peaceful, secluded and romantic setting with a well equiped kitchen and good washing facilities. This really was luxurious camping with charm. Watching the stars at night and listening to the wildlife, you could stay here and not see another being until you leave."

“The yurt was very beautiful to look at and comfortable. Good facilities, plenty of hot water and wood. Stylish and comfy.”

This was our sixth or seventh stay at Yarlington yurt. It is truly magical which is why we keep going (coming) back to this home from home.

Absolute heaven is to be found at Yarlington Yurt. Secluded, quiet, with everything you need for a superb glamping experience. Our 7 year old totally loved it, as did we. (We also love the new fabrics and cushions!) Can't wait to return for a third visit...

We had a great time on the estate. The yurt was great for us as a family of four with children aged 8 and 4. We loved the privacy we hadbut knew that if we needed anything we could ask Richard or Carolyn.

We had a two night stay in Yarlington Yurt. Very cosy and clean.

Peachy as usual. We fall into holiday mode immediately and the effects linger long after we leave. Great base to explore from or to just be there. Everyone on the estate is wonderful.

We had a wonderful time at the yurt. Not only were the scenes spectacular but Richard and the locals were lovely and really May our stay great.

The best thing about our stay was feeling like we were really away from it all. The yurt is beautiful and has everything you need. The pool was idyllic. We'd come back again in a heartbeat.

This was our fifth/sixth visit to the Yurt. We always have a wonderful time there. The people whom live and work there are fabulous; friendly, helpful and living an inspiring life. The sense of being in nature and away from it all is very curative; soon after arriving it is as if we belong. We find peace there.

Yarlington Yurt was a beautiful place, even in the poor weather it was very comfy and sheltered from the elements, it was exceptionally clean and well looked after and the people running it were friendly, helpful and full of information about the local area, couldn't recommend the place high enough.

My son and I had a wonderful two nights staying in the very comfortable Yurt. Set in beautiful gardens it was so peaceful. Carolyn de Salis was most welcoming. The surrounding countryside is lovely and local restaurants shops and galleries are fantastic.

We had a really good few days, it was a great surprise for the people I was with, despite the weather being not so great, we spent most of one day listening to the old radio and had a fire going. It was nice to wander around the gardens.

Fab-u-lous. The Yurt was surprisingly warm and cosy. The children loved their little room and the outside space to explore.

We had a fabulous stay at Yarlington Yurt! It is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. We loved being able to let the children run and play. We would recommend it to everyone we know!

We had a fabulous time at Yarlington. The yurt was exceptionally cosy and well-appointed, the setting was idyllic and the hosts very congenial and welcoming. We intend to come back soon

It was a lovely weekend getaway.

"Yes, it was beautiful, peaceful and we had everything we needed for a lovely family break."
